uh the message i'm going to preach to you today is not just uh an exaltation or an encouragement it's an experience and a journey the message titled today is and so we worshipped and so we worshipped i mean matthew chapter number two i'll be reading verse one to five verse eight and verse eleven i'll also jump into matthew four verse eight through ten i'll anchor scripture john chapter number 4 22-24 and then we'll navigate through different scriptures while you're preparing to go to those scriptures allow me to congratulate and wish every father a happy father's day it's wonderful to be a father but it's more significant to be a dad because there are many fathers in the world today and not enough dads and congratulations i'd like to thank the heavenly father for being a father overall the human family he's a father to those that are non-christians and particularly to those that are and i want to thank the heavenly father for being all of that and more i also want to thank the apostolic fathers in history for handing down to us the legacy of the gospel and for paying the price and for those in this country and on the continent of africa for being the fathers that they are and will continue to be i want to bless each of them and for the fathers in this house we will extend a blessing to you after the service is done chapter 2 verse 1 of matthew now when jesus was born in bethlehem of judea in the days of herod the king behold they came wise men from the east jerusalem saying where is he that he's born king of the jews for we have seen his star in the east and have come to worship him everybody has a star and it's very few people that get to see that star i saw the star on the boys your boys have a star and verse 3 and when herod the king heard these things he was troubled it was troubles and all jerusalem with him was four and when he had gathered all the chief priests and the scribes of the people together he demanded of them where christ should be born and they said bethlehem of judea but thus it is written by the prophet verse 8 he sent them to bethlehem and said come search go and search diligently for the young child and when you have found him bring me word of him that i may come and worship that i may come and worship that i might come and worship him also so there's sincere worship and there's insincere worship verse 9 and when they had heard the king they departed and lo the star which they saw in the east went before them until it stood over the place where the young child was when they saw the star they rejoiced with exceeding great joy verse 11 and when they came into the house they saw the young child with mary's mother and fell down and worshiped him and after they worshiped they opened their treasures it's not advisable to open your treasure before you worship chapter number four verse eight of matthew this is the third temptation again the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain that's a very scary verse that this angel can take jesus that's very scary it frightens me scripture says and the devil taketh him into an exceeding high mountain surely more the kingdoms of the world luke says in a moment of time and the glory of all those kingdoms and said to him all these things will i give you if you will fall down and worship me jesus said unto him get you hence satan for it is written thou shalt worship the lord thy god and him only shall you serve not him only shall you worship him only shall you serve because worship is on planes and on levels last scripture jesus is conversing with a sumerian a samaritan woman who had come to the wow at noonday and a conversation begins the bible says he was hungry the disciples had gone into the city to get him something to eat and going to get some rooty some curry etc and so a woman comes and he starts a conversation and she says what's strange that you a jewish man i'm talking to a samaritan woman and he had a slapper attitude because uh she was suggesting he wanted something from her and so they then go into conversation of worship and is it amazing that individuals who are lacking spiritually can qualify themselves in an agency of worship when they should not and so jesus there says of her you worship in verse 22 you worship but you don't know what you worship salvation yes he's of the jews but the hour comes and that hour is now when true worshipers everyone say true worshipers they are worshipers but they are true worshipers and true worshipers shall worship the father in spirit and in truth for the father seeketh such to worship him for god is a spirit and they that worship him they that worship him must must must worship him in spirit and in truth father add a blessing to this message as we say in jamaica in jesus name worship is very broad it's very expensive the word worship by short definition is to adore to extol to lift up to magnify where's my little sister that was leading today that was leading erica where is she thank you for smiling when you led us i'm so wary of individuals that lead praise and worship and they look so mean and angry [Applause] it was wonderful it was so refreshing a light a real light you're a beautiful soul continue therein there's people singing i love you lord and they look so mean i love you [Applause] get a life go to ihop or something and so the word worship also means to express adoration to express adoration and i do concur that we have different temperaments uh hippocrates said there are four basic temperaments and i'm a sanguine person and uh they are phlegmatic people who are totally opposites they are choleric and they are melancholy people but for all the temperaments there is a general requirement for all of us clap your hands all ye temperaments so whether you are sanguine or whether you are phlegmatic we are expected to clap our hands the sanguine like me we are going to be very expressive and rambunctious in the way we clap our hands the phlegmatic person might clap their hand like that but you have clapped your hands and then he says whether you are sanguine or phlegmatic choleric or melancholy shout unto god with the voice of triumph so the phlegmatic person has to shout with the sanguine but but not to shout you have to shout with the voice of triumph and so we are expected to do that and so we express our worship in various ways to whom much is much is to whom is much to whom much has been forgiven much has been expressed and so simon you are a leper you are criticizing this woman that has poured oil and alabaster oil on my feet and she has been kissing my feet and not ceased to do that publicly and you should be simon in a leper colony but because of your political and economic status you have been given an exemption since i came here you didn't wash my feet you didn't greet me with a kiss you have been manipulating the environment so that you could use me politically economically and socially to overthrow the roman system and this woman has entered into a man's club bodacious and audacious enough to walk into a man's club and come here and pour oil on my feet and has not stopped kissing my feet and you have totally criticized her and he says she has been forgiven much that's why she loves much i was saved at the age of 15 16 i've been a church pro almost all my life and i've seen individuals who have come off the street who have lived a life that is totally challenging and horrendous i was preaching in kalamazoo for joel brooks the power of god fell in that service began to pray for individuals and there was a lady there in the altar she was 75 years old and she said to me please pray for me i have gonorrhea of the throat she said for 60 years from the age of 15 i've been a prostitute she said the beginning of this year when i knew i was dying i gave my heart to the lord please bishop bismarck pray for me and god healed her that day [Applause] she just said in in essence i've had sexual relationships and intercourse and all kinds of things with tens of thousands of men i could not relate and i saw the glory of god heal that woman forgive all his sins and lift her up and so she worshipped [Applause] and so she worshipped there are many entities that uh cohabit opposites live together right and wrong black and white to know black is to know white i'm talking about colors to know darkness is to no light and so uh to move from one to the other is not by a defining line there generally is an overlapping where we move that's the good word are you a professor you look like one you should be one and so we graduate from one place to another is called an overlapping and so if you are a dimensionalist or if you are a dispensationalist rather we move from conscience from innocence to conscience from conscience to human government from human government to promise from promise to law from law to grace all of those dispensations have an overlapping time where one moves from one to another and in that overlapping time god does extraordinary things and raises extraordinary people and so when we move from the law into grace we have neutral individuals john baptist and jesus the christ and in that overlapping time do some extraordinary things we're now moving from one place to another in the church world we have entered into the kingdom era where god is doing extraordinary things with ordinary people and so we have to learn how to cohabit back to the message praise is first followed by worship so it's praise and worship so david you are a praiser but when you come into the presence of king saul your praise is not going to get rid of the devil it's your worship but when you're facing goliath it's not your worship that's going to destroy goliath it's your praise and so you have to learn when you exec lag this is not a moment for praise it's a moment for worship you put on your ephod when everybody's trying to throw stones at you and it's here that you worship you have to know which garment where and when to wear it i'm sounding pedantic and so the great worshipers the first time the word worship is mentioned is of course daddy abraham the father of our faith genesis 22 verse 5 and abram said to the young men stay here with the donkeys the lad and i will go yonder and worship what worship does it guarantees you will come again it doesn't say we will go and sacrifice we will go and worship and we will come again abraham was a significant worshiper he worshipped god and built five orders which is the number of grace but visited two of those altars twice seven times and in those times when abraham worshiped god met him there and god answered his prayer there and granted him the desires of his heart there and opened doors for him there and changed his name and his destiny there and and blessed his generations there and and made him a personal friend there because worship does something for god it's like in job chapter number one lucifer comes into the counsel of god god is going to make a a cosmic decision [Music] that will affect all the power brokers in god's universe and lucifer comes into the presence of god but he comes in worshiping and because he comes in worshiping god inhabits the praise and worship of those that do it and so lucifer gets the right of passage through worship not through his attempted coup d'etat but through worship god is a sucker for worship you can commit a heinous crime and you can perpetrate into areas that that evil people go but god will receive you when you worship how about you and so abraham's servant the second time the word worship is mentioned is in chapter 24 verse 26 of genesis the servant is commandeered by abraham to find a wife for isaac and in so doing he goes and the bible says in verse 26 the man bowed down his head and worshiped the lord so how did eleazar learn how to worship he learned that from abraham worship is something that can be taught but worship is something that must be caught it comes by observation in our church i do not miss praise and worship i want to be there because if i'm just going to sit in the back and wait for the time for the preaching of the word i will not be able to teach people how to worship they have to see it they have to learn it and they have to catch it and so so worship then is key to get access to who god is the reasons why we worship why do we worship number one we worship him because he is god exodus 34 8 and moses made haste and bowed his head towards the earth and worshiped god was passing by moses had the sense he said i want to see your glory i want to see your face god said you cannot see my face and live however what i will do i will let my glory pass by you i'm going to put you in the rock now watch this moses had received the law written by the hand of god came down the people were worshiping icacus they were worshipping a strange god horus the egyptian god and and their worship made god angry they worshipped but not god moses took the law threw it down and broke it he went back up god said the first time i gave it to you the second time you're going to have to earn it and you only have a day to do it you have to cut out of this rock tables of stone and when he does that god put the law there moses had to chisel it in the place that he he created an opportunity for the law was the same place he was going to be hidden to see the glory and god put him in there and moses had the sense to know this moment may never repeat itself i'm going to worship god because if i'm going to be just in awe of god if i'm going to want to take a selfie of this moment i know that if i worship god god loves worship he'll do it again he'll give this moment to me again and the scripture says and moses worshiped in verse number 14 of that same chapter he says thou shalt worship no other god for the lord whose name is jealous is a jealous god god is jealous so he's going to give you that house he's going to give you that car he's going to give you that breakthrough he's going to give you that money he's going to give you that opportunity because he assures us that that that when you come out of egypt go into the land that i promise you in that process i'm going to bless you deuteronomy 8 jeremy 11 he says don't forget me don't forget me you get your range rover you get your mercedes benz you get your house on the lake you get your cabin on in the bahamas don't forget god the greatest enemy of god is prosperity [Applause] prosperity because when you begin to prosper and when you prosper you stop having faith faith is the substance of something hoped for when you get the thing faith ceases to be and without faith it is impossible to please god and so when you get your thing your house your cabin your plane whatever it is always put god first worship him and worship him alone and when you get on your plane say this is a bad plane but glory be to god who has blessed me in all things i need somebody to clap your hands come on put those hands together [Music] [Applause] i feel a worshipping spirit coming in this place god is looking for somebody that would dare to worship him in spirit and in truth turn to your neighbor and say i feel like worshiping god clap your hands all the fathers clap your hands all the mothers clap your hands somebody come on come on clap those hands give god a praise give god a praise give god a praise praise him for who he is [Music] praise him for what he's about to do praise him for what he's about to do i just got to take a little time and praise god i feel good [Applause] [Music] it's too early you're going to hurt me you're going to hurt me you're going to hurt me take your seats take your seats take your seats take your seats take your seats in the old days from abel who had a more excellent sacrifice the boys both came with a sacrifice the boys both went to church there's no record of adam offering a sacrifice but how did the boys know to bring a sacrifice they learned that from their dad and it's strange to me that the first conversation that god has with humanity after the fall he's with cain and he says to kane he says why are you mad why are you angry that's a question that most of you in this room have to ask you're mad about something if you can find out why you are angry about something you can help yourself the reason you have the sickness the cancer the emphysema is not that you are physically uh challenged is that you're mad about something i'm mad about chichi baby baby baby i love that girl and so uh in the church service god gives cain an instruction if you would do good if you would do good doors will open for you if you would do good and so there are thousands of churches in this region the way you attract people is when you do good when i would do good evil is present so anytime you want to do something that is right the antithesis of what you want to do is always present and so you have to learn like kane didn't learn you have to learn that doing good is a goal and so you play very well you have a nice touch but there's somebody younger that's looking for that spot so you have to keep on doing good your uh church presentation your children's ministry your youth ministry what an incredible building has to keep on looking for the next level ask brooklyn it's [Music] it's it's always looking for the best level next year i will have been preaching 49 years [Applause] so how does a person stay relevant and current firstly it's of course the grace of god on an individual's life but i've seen people that have great grace on their life that are whack because they don't read they don't reinvent themselves they don't study and there are many areas i'm totally deficient in which i'm trying to learn to to become more efficient such as how these things work how you can order uber eats or something crazy and so every person is great in one area and deficient in another it is said that at the inception of every human institution are the seeds of its success and the seeds of its failure at the inception of every human institution are the seeds of its success and the seeds of its failure so this church is moving towards failure your business is moving towards failure the way you overcome failure is to reinvent yourself to discover your tomorrow to discover the new song sing unto the lord a now we like the old songs but sing unto the lord a new song a new song creates new opportunities creates new experiences uh we sat by the rivers of babylon we couldn't sing the lord's song in a strange land they that kept us captive required of us a song and we said how can we sing the lord's song in a strange land that's the place to sing the lord's song in a place you've never been before in an experience you've never had before that's the place to sing the lord's song anybody can worship in church but can you worship when your plane is going down when your life is falling apart when the doctor says you only have three months to live when the doctor says your child is not going to make it next year can you worship god in that place turn to someone and say and so we worship and so we worship and so so so in the old days let me just work this out just a little bit in the old days an individual would have an experience with god turn to a neighbor say neighbor neighbor neighbor you have to have an experience with god you have to have an experience with god [Applause] and so what they would do is they would raise up an offering they would bring their offering and the bible says with elijah that god would send fire from heaven and say if you look at chapter number four the bible says that god accepted abel's offering rejected cain's so what was the sign of god accepting and rejecting it's possible that that abel's offering had fire come down and the smoke goes straight up and god receive it and cain's offering didn't have fire come down on it and so if you look at noah and all the others they would then create a place of worship and that place of worship would be the place they would continually to go to to seek god and find god and so rick hawkins has an experience with god he has an experience with god before dustin is born dustin comes and sees his dad worshiping and worships the god of his dad and so here come the boys the boys know that papa is worshiping god and daddy is worshiping god and also go to what they call the high place and so what individuals would do in the place where they met god they would make that place a sacred place and the scripture says they would build a grove it would be a memorial they would beautify the place built some trees both some sort of a shrine and so what went to a first-hand experience in generations become a place of idolatry where we worship the place and not the god of the place and so when you get to lures running away from your brother and running away from destiny you're gonna meet god at last and when you get there you are going to see the heavens open angels ascending and descending and you're going to wake up from that experience and say surely the lord is in this place i'm going to name this place beth al the god of the house of god [Applause] you can be in the house of god and never meet the god of the house of god the devil is a liar you're gonna meet him on the damascus road you're gonna meet him somewhere cornelius in your household you're gonna meet him somewhere in your life and god will forever ever change your life turn to a neighbor and say so we worship shout so we worship i'm not worshiping the devil i'm not worshiping the things that god has blessed me with i'm not worshiping my talent and my anointing but i'm looking for the god of the house of god i feel like preaching this thing out of my blue time i'm almost there i'm almost there i'm almost there i'm always there and so jesus died he died he died he was buried on the third day he rose again and so the scripture says in matthew chapter number 28 and verse 9 verse number 9 and as they went to tell his disciples behold jesus met them saying all hail and they came and held him by the feet and worshiped him oh yes when one of us has gone ahead and has done things that no one else has done when one of us goes ahead and breaks ground when no one else had broken ground when you are the first in your family to have an earned degree when you are the first in your family to own a car when you are the first in your family to have a house that you have built with your own hands yes when you are the first in your family to become a literal millionaire not a bitcoin millionaire oh god give me a break when you are the first in your family to break down and go to another level oh yes i was the first in my family the oldest of ten to receive the baptism of the holy ghost speaking in tongues as the holy ghost gives utterance in 1972 i'm the first of all the boys there's five of us to be a preacher i started preaching in 1974 the first to see great things in my life when you are the first somebody has got to come and hold your feet not just to worship you to say keep on walking walk on walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone i feel an airfield anointing up in here churchill will never say walk on walk on say i bless your feet i bless your feet walk in places you've never walked before walk in arenas you've never walked before walk in power you've never walked before walk walk walk walk walk hallelujah i'm about to walk in a place i'm about to walk on water i'm about to walk to demon demonic places and my mother walked to lazarus tomb i'm about to walk into canaan and turn water into wine come on someone give god a praise and so we worship worship as god opens the door not yet not yet yes you play but you not yet amen amen amen so we worship sisters and brothers a cyril syrophoenician woman came to jesus and she said to jesus yo g please help me my daughter is vexed with the devil and the devil keeps on renting and breaking her down and the bible says that jesus ignored her she was from cana of the phoenician place and the bible says jesus ignored her the disciples then threw her aside and said leave jesus alone and the bible is explicit the bible says she then came and began to worship him matthew chapter number 15 verse 24 the bible says she began to worship him verse 25 then came she and worshiped him and said lord help me he just called her a dog he just told her i can't take the bread for the children and give it to a dog but the bible says she worshipped him if you want something that god needs to do in your life yes before you give him your shopping list before you make your request to the lord bow down and worship him before you ask god to heal to bless to open yours bow down and worship him oh my god i'm so glad i came here this morning because my worship is about to go to another [Laughter] i almost forgot i got a back problem but that problem or no back problem i feel like worshiping god this morning come on bernie come on idris come on eden hallelujah [Applause] i'm closing now i don't want to but i need you in that chapter number 17 paul had preached everywhere paul had preached everywhere came to mars hill i need to hear you came to mars hill and said to the athenians i perceive that you are so superstitious you've got a plaque here you've got gods of all kinds of expressions you're worshiping strange things you've got zeus and mercury you're worshiping all kinds of crazy things but i see here a plaque to the unknown god [Laughter] from a child the unknown god kept you safe from a child the unknown god stopped you from being molested the unknown god protected you from being kidnapped the unknown god kept you from drugs the unknown god put a shield around you to keep you from losing your mind the unknown god came on your life to keep you from going insane the unknown god walked with you daily and traveled with you the steps of a good man are ordered by the lord it's the unknown god through summer and winter spring and autumn as the unknown god that has kept you and so give glory to the unknown god if he kept you in the past and you didn't know that god was there as you going to the future to the unknown the unknown god will keep you to the unknown future and so we worship we worship him for his blessing we worship him for his anointing we worship him for his deliverance we worship him for what he has done we worship him for the things he has done we worship him we worship him for our children and our grandchildren bless me lord oh bless me now my savior i come to this i need this oh i need thee every hour i need thee it was grace that brought me safe this fire and grace will lead me on [Applause] and so we worship [Applause] stand everybody [Music] so we worship [Music] i worship you this is a place i wish i could sing i worship you almighty god there is none like you i worship you o prince of peace o prince of peace [Music] that is what i long to i give you praise for you are my righteousness i worship you almighty god there is none like you [Music] yeah yeah come on raise your hands whoa let the incense rise let the incense rise [Music] what is before the veil is the altar of incense made of five things stacti on the cha goblin frankincense and salt in the morning in the evening the priest would come and put the incense god was locked behind the veil but god is such a sucker for worship as that smoke from the altar of worship would rise god would break the law he made himself slip out bless the people as aaron would say the lord bless you the lord keep you his face shine upon you his confidence be kind towards you and give you peace because the worship would legitimize god it's what isaiah saw where the smoke filled the temple god would come and bless them and before the devil could cry foul god would jump back behind the veil that's why you have to worship the good times in bad times challenges and so we worship we worship if you have two hands raise one just one you can raise tree if you want father for what america is going through for what zimbabwe is in and going through we worship you regardless for you are god and god alone we worship you and he's so sweet i worship you i will shall be you oh my god there is none like you [Music] there is [Music] that is what i long to do that is for you and my righteousness everybody's singing i worship you almighty god [Music] ship you almighty there is none like you there is none like there is [Music] there is none like you bye yeah yeah and so we worship and so we worship and so we worship and so we worship the devil is a liar and so we worship [Music] you're a yes man [Music] all the fathers raise your hand fathers fathers raise your hand father bless the fathers on this wonderful father's day uh media guys can you put up matthew chapter number six verse nine in this manner therefore when you pray our father our father our father our father our father you being prone to evil jesus said you being wicked that word wicked is you being prone to evil know how to give good gifts to your children how much more your heavenly father so father bless me now my savior bless me now my savior bless the fathers put your hands together for your [Applause] [Music] [Applause] apostles
