Amalfi Coast - Best of Italy's Famous Coastline

hey guys welcome back to the other side with ian and anna we are coming to you live from a boat on the amalfi coast this is like a dream come true for us in this video we're going to show you what you can do in two full days here you can still have so much fun with a limited amount of time let's just get right into it [Music] we have the cutest little bread and breakfast hosted by nona and a grandpa she only speaks italian to us she refuses to speak english i don't know just really really wholesome and cute ever since rome if you missed that video you can click right up here we had so much fun there ate so much pasta and pizza and now we're eating italian desserts in the morning coming to italy be ready to buy bigger pants to get down to the amalfi coast we took a train ride from rome down to a town called salerno and then a one-hour bus ride from salerno to amalfi town sadly we didn't have enough time to visit pompeii but i definitely recommend it i've been there before and it's just amazing pompeii was an ancient roman city that was buried by a catastrophic volcanic eruption from mount vesuvius it's only about 35 minutes from sorrento and an hour from amalfi town and if you're thinking about going i'll make sure to link some amazing tours down in the description below today we're going to rent a motorbike and go to placitano where we've always wanted to visit so the amalfi coast is a bunch of different towns along this pristine coastline and we're up in the hills above the town called amulfe it's called pontone and ravello we had to hike down about 30 minutes up here the places were a little bit cheaper to stay at ours is about 86 a night but it's also april and the weather isn't that great so prices are lower i can't feel my legs well first of all we came from jordan egypt and then two weeks in charlotte in charlotte we shouldn't have even gone home and then we came back to italy to rome we walked for six straight days all around that city and then two days from now we are taking a flight from naples to paris for another nine days [Music] we got this awesome bike it's missing a mirror so you gotta be careful ian got me the ugliest helmet i thought it matches the italian flag a little bit but it's lime green a little misconception that i had coming to italy was that all italian food in italy would be absolutely incredible you would think that it's very disappointing to go to a restaurant hoping it's going to be good and it's absolute trash so you really do have to still look at reviews and make sure you're hitting up a good place we had that problem in rome towards the end we finally found the best restaurant but here in the all mafi coast we found the best restaurant the very first night we got here can't wait to show you guys that tonight we just had lunch it was crap by far the coolest coastline i've ever seen in my life the thing that comes closest to it would be big sur in california but i think this might be better course is better because you can pick up some gelato or some pasta along this coastline there's way more views especially with the houses along the hills here now i don't know if i recommend driving here during summer we've heard it gets backed up forever and it's not enjoyable right now the roads are clear it's a monday and we did it for 45 euros for five hours which i think is a steal [Music] legend has it that positano was created by poseidon the god of the sea it was under attack by pirates for a very long time the multi's unofficial symbol is the lemon and you will see why when you come here there are lemon trees everywhere they love limoncello lemon candy lemon everything [Music] right now as you can see behind us there's not that many people really enjoying it when the sun was out it was a vibe people playing volleyball they were enjoying there's beach clubs people are drinking and hanging out at cafes here it's really really beautiful i love it it's definitely crowded i know that if it were summer we would have come very early in the morning i think it could be so fun here if you're swimming yeah i could only imagine i'd be in the ocean all day especially with that backdrop the backdrop is mind-blowing this place is different than i expected especially there is a crossed off part where you have to pay 30 euros per person to get a sunbed and no one was doing it which is hilarious but i'm guessing during summer it gets way too packed so people do pay that price you only get a small little sliver of beach here i really like the beach part and i like this new part i didn't necessarily like up there with all the shops it was super touristy very crowded and there's apparently cruise ships that come here too but the actual beach i thought was totally worth it especially if you can swim if we had wine i think we would just be like on cloud nine we gotta cut back you don't cut back you do not cut back when you're in italy or juice italy and grease yeah we're not cutting back on our alcohol [Music] we just dropped off our motorbike and we're heading up to our airbnb we decided to walk because the bus wasn't coming for another 30 minutes so we challenged ourselves to walk up those crazy stairs you saw earlier but that being said a taxi up to the top would cost us 50 euros which is crazy expensive so if you're staying in this area be prepared to either take the bus or walk a lot the bus system is really easy though you just have to time it right now it's time for some food oh my man thank you silvio mango parmigiano cheese right now we're at giovanni's it's our favorite restaurant in all of italy it's seriously like three steps from our door tonight we're having sage and butternooky we've been here like five different kinds every dish we've had is amazing but i think this is our favorite waking up to this view another day and today is finally clear so you get to see the mountains surrounding us this is unreal casa if you're looking for a beautiful morning in a mall for you just wake up early it's about 9 00 a.m right now and there is no one in these streets yesterday it was absolutely packed here right now we're heading to get a kova test because our flight to paris is tomorrow both our tests are negative with covet and now we are hopping on a boat at the amalfi port good morning nice to meet you nice to meet you luigi nice to meet you so we just decided between a relaxing tour along the amalfi coast and capri we chose capri it's going to be more adventurous we have wine we have a great captain and most importantly this is all possible thanks to get your guide we'll have a link in the description below to this boat so you can do it too this boat is a thousand dollars for six hours so you're allowed to have five people on here it's perfect for families friends and even romantic couples because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity i'm taking my shirt off it's about 70 and sunny out today [Music] so this island is called ligali island we have two villas and one church that they rent for the private weddings private events the coast of ireland is around 50 000 euros a day oh my god in 2019 we had lebron james on the island for three weeks well as you all know we're from cleveland ohio so lebron till we die even though he's in la now we still love him we have the wine going it's about 11 a.m you guys gotta check the video i posted on instagram yeah we didn't have a wine opener so i had to use our tripod for our camera to open it and we have mgk plans also from the land this is cleveland gone italy i mean look where we are it's not capri it's capri right yes very particular and then down here we have thousands of jellyfish still here this water is crystal blue color of the water is the combination of the white sand on the bottom and the light of the sun cause i found my way i found my way would you like some more prosecco of course is it cold it's so cold no this is like an ice bath on here they have a freshwater hose anna don't sprain them [Applause] fuji is going to teach us some sign language and italian so in italian this and this means everything okay are you okay this means what the and this means i don't care i don't mind luigi gave us some pears and strawberries with the watercolor and the mountains this place is unreal i wish we had our friends austin and amanda here if you guys remember them from our grease videos this reminds us so much of the kinthos i didn't expect there to be a bathroom in this boat but hey they got one for us oh my gosh they're bougie luigi i know for a fact if my mom were here right now she cannot get in cold water she is actually allergic to cold water and breaks out in hives it's like a legit thing for any moms out there i know this is definitely going to come in handy for you right now we are getting on another boat to go on to an island where we could have some lunch one of the best things you can do in greece is bring home olive oil we brought home 10 bottles of olive oil last summer we spent a whole month in greece if you missed those videos you gotta check them out right up here we are trying lemoncello for the first time we probably should have tried it as soon as we got here this is a lemon liqueur that originated in southern italy specifically sorrento and amalfi coast salute [Music] oh that tastes really good cause i found my way [Music] we showed you guys positano beach yesterday now we're here today but seeing it from the sea it's really beautiful i think this is our last stop of the boat which is really sad really cool from the water i don't know it's just a different perspective because you get the whole entire mountain range you don't have the crowds of course and you get to see this entire
