Nice. What trick will Kim learn now? Can we have a Mills Mess timed please? That'd be very interesting.

That's great. I would have encouraged more time with 2 balls before going on to 3. If you can cascade 2 while alternating starting hand it's a very easy transition to 3, imo

when I first started this channel one of the first skills that I learned was how to juggle and I learned that scale in about 3 hours and 44 minutes and that seems like a fast time to me anyway I was quite impressed with that but to find out how quick are not quick not really as we need a control we need a comparison so I've enlisted someone to learn the scale in exactly the same way as I did so we can compare the times and that person is my wife Kemp so this is her day one hour zero of learning to juggle all right Kim so the goal same as mine 30 seconds continuous juggling again so y'all ready pretty good time let's give you some times to speed this up right remember you're on camera now so what you want to be able to do is to have a consistent throw so that you don't have to worry about it being like too like different every time right let's try two so one and then when this one's here or throw the next one see you yeah gosh that one [Music] [Music] [Music] all right day four that's pretty good move around a little bit less need to keep throwing them in stop catching do it and try to catch it that's what we're trying to do here so right about this point here chem is in the depth at trough in the learning curve that occurs after the novelty of picking up something new has worn off but before you've acquired enough of the skill to really start enjoying what you're doing this is the point inland and that's the least enjoyable it's the most frustrating where you're most likely to quit and when you're alone in to juggle there is nothing more frustrating more soul-destroying nothing that inhibits your progress more then when the balls bounce off each other in midair it completely messes up your floor there's absolutely no hope of catching the balls and it is incredibly annoying happened to me a lot when I was learning to juggle and it drove me nuts and the same thing is happening to Kim right now so here are some glorious slow-mo footage of configuring out timing and rhythm and pushing through the DEP [Music] [Music] that is so frustrating when the hair off of each other [Music] [Music] I accidentally fear the computer but when I did I at 24 Suze you did 24 show me wow that's some awesome progress [Music] so what Kem is due today is using a technique called the Pomodoro Technique it's when you set a 25 minute timer the practice intensely for that time and then you have a three to five minute break and then you do another 25 minutes all right turn right up all right that's time for a break all right back to [Music] you and the bones together alright can think today is the day where we should do they're taken ten years seconds of juggling I think I can do it three two one okay okay five seconds left I'm not I'm not winding you up I'm not waving you up that was your time we could have called it at that but we don't do things by halves on this challenge to one downstairs and over here a lot more tense now the one [Music] [Music] that was absolutely oh you mrs. Boyd can juggle yes I can [Music] well we are the creepy husband and wife that you come to and our eyes were like cookie dough never like hey why don't we play juggling so can learn to juggle and just a smidge over four hours that's only 20 minutes longer than I took almost being my time but not quite when she was learning us can put into practice a bunch of techniques to optimize her practice time reduce frustration and push through the depth and the learning curve all of these techniques were taken from a class I've designed called how to learn it's an amalgamation of all the knowledge I've gained over 50 skills learned that's all about how to make your practice more efficient to reduce the likelihood of Ukraine and even how to find something you're interested in to start with it's really nice to see these techniques working in action with someone else I think learning to juggle in just four hours is pretty impressive if there's something you want to learn this year perhaps just to improve yourself or maybe a skill to start a new business and you're gonna optimize your learning process then you can check out the class on Skillshare Skillshare is usually just ten bucks a month but since they support the show my viewers can get two months of premium access for free Skillshare has thousands of classes delivered by people who really excel at teaching like aaron droplet he's a logo design expert but he's also a natural educator and his style of teaching is conducive to a really enjoyable and efficient learning process I'm taking his logo design class so I can design a new logo for the channel in Adobe Illustrator I'm still working on it I'll keep you updated on how that school and later this month if you want to learn something new this year then check out my how to learn class or any number of the thousands of Skillshare classes using the link in the description that will get you two months access for free and there's no commitment to carry on after that offer period ends but hurry that offer is only available to the first 500 people thank you very much for watching and I'll see you guys next week peace [Music]
