Alternate Versions Of The Hulk

[Music] welcome to vert we love comics more than I'm sad that will apparently never get another solo Hulk movie in the MCU I'm your host Aaron Jonas today we're continuing our preparation for Avengers let's dive into some alternate versions and today it's all about the Jay giant The Hulk and what makes this cooler is since it's an alternate versions episode I get to talk about several Hulk's so what are we waiting for let's kick this pig as usual before I start listing the alternate versions of the Hulk we're gonna take a look at the classic version of the character first The Incredible Hulk sometimes refer to as savage Hulk from the Marvel 6160 universe he's also the Hulk that all the other versions of the character are based off of most comic book fans are familiar with his origin but to sum it up when scientist Bruce Banner was covered in gamma radiation during the test of a gamma bomb his DNA was altered causing him to transform into the Hulk when he becomes angry and the madder he gets the stronger he gets essentially making him the living personification of rage and pure physical strength which is why we got the line don't make me angry you won't like me when I'm angry but again most of us are familiar with this version of the Hulk so let's take a look at the first alternate version I'm gonna mention and that's Joe fix-it home this version of the Hulk is an enforcer in a bouncer for a Las Vegas casino owner and he has a 50s mob Bob going on he's intelligent arrogant and cunning but he's also a real lover of the ladies and definitely represents the party aspect of Las Vegas very well this version of the character also brought back the characters original gray color as Marvel initially made the whole grey in his first appearance but it's color has quickly changed to green due to inking problems I guess they got the issues with Greg all worked out anyway while Joe fix-it is able to talk normally and intelligently he's not nearly as strong as some of the other versions of the Hulk however he does have one thing no other Hulk will ever have and that's a quite dapper three-piece suit next up we have old man Logan Hulk from the popular old man Logan storyline this version is set in an apocalyptic future where the supervillains grouped together and took over as for the Hulk in this reality he has several inbred children with his cousin so there's that long story short Hulk tells his children to kill Logan's family which results in Logan killing Hulk's children and then trying to kill Hulk himself but this old nasty looking Hulk ain't having it and he ends up eating Logan instead yes old man Hulk is a cannibal but it turns out Wolverine isn't easy to digest and Logan slashes his way out of old man Hulk's back it's disgusting yet glorious moving along we have Professor Hulk or merged Hulk after a series of events that left Bruce banners consciousness fractured with Bruce and two different versions of the Hulk all fighting for control of his subconscious his friend doc Samson use hypnosis to tap in and align the three different personalities long enough for them to find peace the three competing personalities of Banner sat and gray Hulk then fuse together to create a green but incredibly intelligent version of the Hulk with the mentality of banner but the body and abilities of the Hulk thus the nickname professor Hulk this represented the ideal version of the Hulk in banners eyes he even had a mental safety net that would transform him back to banner if he got too mad which kept him from going out of control but considering this is the Hulk we're talking about something just feels all wrong about that the next version of the Hulk is one of my favorites and that would be world war hulk or king hole we got this Hulk after the Illuminati deemed Hulk unsafe for Earth and sent him into space causing him to crash land on the planet sakaar this take on the Hulk was a combo of Bruce Banner in the smarter portions of the Hulk's personality with banner and hoax personalities working together Hulk defeated the cool Red King freed slaves and took control over the planet Sekar as king he even ended up getting married to say era of the shadow tribe and had two kids with her scar and higher Ocala unfortunately the spaceship to the Illuminati used to send him there accidentally exploded and killed Hulk's wife so where do you think he went after that happened yup he returned to Earth to make the Illuminati pay for his loss shortly after this we got another awesome version of the Hulk known as world breaker Hulk as his name implies this Hulk is a freakin world breaker in world war hulk issue 5 just one of his steps literally tore apart manhattan and nearly sank the east coast we see him do something similar to this in the incredible hulks issue 632 when the hulk turns into a world breaker hulk just the summoning of his power destroys half the east side of las vegas this take on the hulk is easily the strongest version of the Hulk we've seen in the main Marvel 626 universe he's insanely powerful next in line we have a pretty fun version of the Hulk and that is Peter Parker as Spider Hulk this version of the giant only appeared in web of Spiderman issue 70 but this issue was a ton of fun and it was a cool enough concept to earn him an awesome action figure an action figure that I own thanks to my buddy love you Matt anyway spider Hulk was created after Peter Parker was zapped with bioelectrical energy from the Hulk this altered Peters genetics causing him to transform into spider Hulk anytime Peter got angry in this forum Peter has all of Hulk's strengths and abilities like his incredible strength durability and ability to jump long distances Peter even keeps his web slinging abilities basically and made this spider the strongest there is but let's move on to the apocalypse Hulk in this reality apocalypse rules all of North America and banner was never exposed to gamma radiation however he desperately wants to become a mutant so we sold himself to one of apocalypses horsemen in return he was given test subjects to perform experiments on which he used to find the means of giving himself powers banner was eventually successful and was able to transform himself into the creature known as the thing not to be confused with Ben Grimm next up is a pretty strange version called Earth X Hulk in this universe Banner and Hulk has separated due to prolonged exposure to gamma radiation the catch is they still need each other as Bruce has become a blind child who could only see through the Hulk's eyes and the Hulk is now a huge green ape that's immensely slower than ever and makes for an interesting combo next I have to mention the female version of the Hulk known as she-hulk after Bruce banners cousin Jennifer Walters was shot by mobsters Bruce was forced to give her a blood transfusion of his own blood in order to save her and as you would expect it gave Jennifer the ability to transform into the she-hulk she local would become a reoccurring member of the Avengers and even a member of the Fantastic Four moving on again we have the House of M Hulk this Hulk is from the universe where magneto rules the world and mutants are the majority and humans are the minority as for Bruce Banner slash Hulk's part in this well he was in Australia where he met a tribe of Aborigines who helped him control his rage this is also why this version of the Hulk is referred to as Aboriginal Hulk anyway when the dang mutants attacked Bruce's new tribe he gets pissed and transforms into the Hulk and defeats them all he then goes on to conquer the whole continent with Ames help because the Hulk is the strongest there is next in line we have the Marvel Zombies Hulk in this universe pretty much every Marvel hero was infected and turned into a zombie and Hulk was no exception when Silver Surfer came down to earth in Marvel Zombies issue 3 Hulk actually caught him and bit off his head this insane moved and imbued zombie Hulk with a portion of the power cosmic and that is not a Hulk I want to encounter either zombie hero started to eat the rest of surfers body giving them a portion of the power cosmic as well they all eventually use their extra power boost to take on Galactus overall if you haven't read the first Marvel zombie series I definitely recommend it moving on again we have the Marvel mangaverse on earth 23:01 where Hulk is essentially a Godzilla hawk I mean he's green 500 feet tall has a massive tail and destroys everything in his path he even has helicopters trying to shoot him down this Hulk is by far the tallest version of Hulk out there then we have the Ultimate Universe Hulk in this ultimate reality banner works for shield and injects himself with a mixture of his own blood and the Super Soldier Serum causing him to transform into the Hulk this Hulk is much taller and is gray like the original Hulk but the craziest thing about Altamonte Hulk is that he's a cannibal and he's actually been shown ripping people apart and then eating them he's even dismembered and eaten abomination sounds yummy anyway let's pick up the pace a bit next up is infernal Hulk after Bruce Banner became sorcerer supreme on earth 11 6:38 yeah that was a thing that happened banner then used his new powers to separate himself from the Hulk and sent him to hell but after the Hulk becomes completely corrupted by his new friends in hell this new demonic Inferno Hulk eventually finds his way back to earth just when you think the hole couldn't get any scarier now who likes future hulks I do so let's take a look at two of them first up maestro Hulk he's a tyrant in every sense of the word he survived the great apocalyptic war and then proceeded to kill the remaining heroes and villains that dared stand against him he even has a trophy room with the remains of the heroes and villains he's killed I mean just look at that he has everything from cap shield and Nova's helmet to dr. Strange's cloak insane maestro Hulk also possesses intelligence that is equal or greater than Bruce Banner along with enhanced power that is greater than that of the Hulk which obviously explains how he was able to take down most of the Avengers and the x-men again look at that freaking trophy room what I also find crazy about the master Hulk is that even though this is an alternate version of Hulk it's a possibility that the main 6-1-6 Hulk could end up like this in the future let's just hope that doesn't happen the second future Hulk is of course Hulk 2099 the human side of Hulk in the 2099 timeline is John Eisenhart and in this alternate reality slash possible future he is a film producer who was unwillingly exposed to gamma radiation by a cult that worshipped the original Hulk called the Knights of banner not the Knights of Ren although it's kind of the gamma exposure gave John the power to transform into the Hulk of 2099 whenever he wants which is nice but his ability to stay in control somewhat reduces his strength as he lacks the raw savagery an adrenaline push of the og Hulk Hulk 2099 s appearance is quite different as well he looks like a mash-up between the lizard and Killer Croc which is a pretty unique take we find our next version of the Hulk in the 2010 to issue miniseries hulked out heroes which was part of the world war hulk crossover that gave us a glimpse of several Hulk versions of other heroes including Thor Captain America and thing Hulk however the comic really focused on one particular Hulk out here oh and that would be Hulk pool pulpo embarks on time-traveling adventures like battling pirates fighting in World War two and even killing Red Skull and Hitler by riding a missile into them hey what can you say Deadpool ladies and gentlemen well hopeful that is because it's Deadpool and Hulk together next we have Hulk from the amalgam universe named skulk for those of you who don't know the amalgam universe takes a Marvel character in a DC character and then matches them together to make a new character in this case they mix Hulk in solomon grundy to give a skulk it's a horrible name I know regardless Bruce Banner became skulk after a series of experiments with radiation went horribly wrong fusing him with the elemental entity known as Solomon Grundy I gotta be honest I'm not a big fan of this amalgamation and his name is horrible so let's move on now there's no way I could do this list without mentioning Thunderbolt Ross aka the Red Hulk Ross was transformed into the Red Hulk after making a deal with villains to turn him into the fiery beast so that he could finally defeat the Green Hulk and take control of the country however Ross would soon regret his actions and seek Redemption by joining the Avengers and eventually even forming his own group of Heroes called the Thunderbolts the most awesome thing about the Red Hulk is that unlike the normal green Hulk who gets stronger the madder he gets Red Hulk gets hotter the madder he gets which is incredibly deadly to both his opponents and himself because if he lets himself get too hot he can overheat and lose consciousness not the best all right guys nearing the end of this list we have Doc Green Hulk in short after dosing himself with the extremest serum Banner develops another new personality called doc green this version retains manners intelligence just like Professor Hulk but is also incredibly and condescending he's like a big green Minkus from Boy Meets World ultimately he develops a gamma cure using Ultron's body and he forcibly administers it's a gamma-powered hero's like he did to Red Hulk and a bomb it's also been implied that this Hulk is in danger of becoming the maestro Hulk speaking of intelligent Hulk's next up we have Amadeus Cho Hulk from the totally awesome Hulk title he's the eighth smartest person on the planet and as a hyper mind that allows him to calculate and think extremely fast he became the Hulk following an incident where the original Hulk absorbed a lethal amount of radiation so Cho used special nanites to remove the Hulk from Bruce Banner and place it into his own body this allowed him to become his own version of the Hulk something that was actually a dream come true for Cho unlike Banner who hates living with the Green Monster inside him but that brings us to the last version of the Hulk I'm gonna mention today Weapon H this beast of a character was created from a discharged soldier who was kidnapped by the Weapon X program and possesses the DNA of both the Hulk and Wolverine making him a hybrid of the two simply put Weapon H is one of the most powerful characters Marvel has introduced into their universe in a very long time he has amazing healing abilities due to the Hulk and Wolverine having two of the best healing factors in all of Marvel on top of having the strength of the Hulk and the adamantium claws and bones of Wolverine what else do I have to say he's a Hulk with adamantium claws but there you have it guys a rundown of our favorite alternate versions of the Hulk there are still a few other versions of the Hulk I didn't mention because quite down on Central City to burn it to the ground the flash is as fast as a lightning bolt but is he as fast as a thousand next on the list is Darth Vader issue 14 as the Emperor's grip tightens on the galaxy note ah Lawrence for rebellion can be afforded especially not would being fomented by our surviving Jedi on Mon Cala and finally we have Red Hood in the outlaws issue 21 looking to make his mark on Gotham City's crowded underworld Red Hood infiltrates the iceberg lounge in an attempt to further annoy the penguin and that's gonna bring another episode of van to a close but remember to
