ALLIGATOR **ATTACKED** While I Was Setting CRAWFISH TRAPS!!!!

[Music] oh my gosh what's up everybody blue gabe we're back in hope sound florida which is in between stuart and jupiter and we're at my brother deer meat for dinner's ranch i don't know if you've been following me for a while or not but you've seen that kelly young and i have been up in cape cod in boston then ocean city maryland and we left because the weather was terrible unfortunately the terrible weather followed us home check out jupiter inlet right now yeah big huge gnarly waves surfer surfing we can't get out the inlet so i said hey let's take these crawdad traps that i order offline and go set them we have eight traps we've got some yellow jacks for bait that i just chopped up with my danko 13 inch machete it's actually a flay knife and i love to use it but it's good for just straight chopping things up so we're going to bait up all these traps and get this party started i like to put one piece in the little zipper pouch just so nothing can take it out and then drop just a couple pieces inside the trap like that all right since luke is the youngest we're gonna let him set the first one and he picked this awesome little spot right here which is the canal that runs the whole length of the ranch right underneath these power lines lucky come here and throw it in try to get it out there in the deep spot pick it up and chunk it right out there good shot now there are a lot of gators out here so i'm going to take this blue string and tie it off to this branch right here just in case a gator thinks he's going to get a free snack this might slow him up a little bit it definitely wouldn't stop him hopefully that stalls him out the cool thing about this ranch and setting these traps is there's canals like this there's culverts that have water flowing through them there's big flag ponds there's little marshy areas and then there are spots that are flooded right now because we've been getting a ton of rain that don't normally hold water so we're going to spread them all across the ranch and y'all are going to see where let's go all right you guys this is where jake picked why do you pick this spot because this is where dear me for dinner caught all the meals i'm gonna see if i can catch one you mean uncle robert yes sir uncle robert all right chunk it yep looks good to me oh he flinched yeah you go bring it over here bass wolf look at this giant for those of y'all that fish with live grasshoppers and aren't from florida check out that giant thing them things actually that's a big one the things actually root up all the grass and they're really bad so unfortunately we might have to kill it my god yeah they are bad for the environment they're a non-native species all right boys we got six more traps to go let's go all right you guys so this is a spot on the ranch that needs assistance we had a culvert here but it blew out now the water's flowing through this is where i want to put my trap i like current because current will actually push the scent out there into that big pond so i think i'm going to come over here and put this trap right here which it's a little shallow but i want to just put it right there oh my god you think i'm joking my drone's right there watching me we never knew she was there and look how clear the water how do i even get oh whoa dude what that what the heck what are the odds of this that puddle's not even four or five inches deep i don't even know where she's at come over here close and see if you can even see where she's at right now yeah luke you don't luke stay over there it's not even that's how deep it is and i can't see her in there right now i can't even see her she's so camo i just rubbed the stick the whole length she must be tucked up in that back corner oh gosh there she is that's how people in south florida or anywhere gators live get eight you don't know they're here i literally pulled up and both my kids were right here now fortunately kelly was standing right next to him but it can happen that fast oh my gosh so we're out here having fun setting crawfish traps jake this is a perfect example both of you when you're on this ranch you can't just think oh we'll just step anywhere that's less than six inches of water grandma's gonna freak when she sees this video though i cannot see her you can see her bubbles right there what's up why this is a perfect spot for her is there's tilapia right there that when we came up we spooked them and this is a perfect little area to lay our eggs somewhere right there and we're getting heck out of shape getting the heck out of here let's go somewhere different get that trap both of you all go get in the truck all right so after that near fatality with the female alligator i decided to leave the kids in the truck while i do this real quick i'm gonna put one out here and one out on the other side of the road because from growing up as a kid i've always found the most crawled ads in this type of area this is actually kelly's first time to the ranch so i want to take her up to the lodge and show her that i want to catch a baby alligator y'all leave a comment below if you expected that alligator to be there because i can tell you i didn't and i'm on this ranch all the time let's put another one out there and open it we're gonna lay three down we got three more let's see i think i can make it how are we gonna pull that we're gonna walk and wait over there and go get it you're gonna wade with the alligators oh you are oh all right so remember we got one two yeah this is perfect this is actually a game trail it blows my mind why a hog won't walk down the road but he'll walk over here all right you guys so we got six of the eight traps set we're gonna go ahead and set the other two i'm gonna let the kids play hooky kelly and i was gone for like i don't know eight days and then we'll see you right back here tomorrow morning when you said we were gonna play with hooky look around look at the camera and say we're getting out of shape we're getting out of shape all right you guys we're here at one of my little favorite spots in the whole wide world to catch cool things and traps this is a little ditch near my house where when i first moved up here jake and i come dip netting and he caught one of these huge prawns we're not at the ranch obviously i wanted to come here because i set two traps last night because tomorrow we're going to paul kefar's house to do a collab digging this huge pond with these big machines for his house if you don't know paul kaffara paul caffara is one of the youngest biggest youtubers there are and he specializes in fish pond jake grab that trap right there let's see what's in it yes sir pull it up what there's catfish only thing i wish you could do is get these things out of the trap without getting all the bait in there too because it's stinky what is all that whoa look at the catfish the catfish is so cute oh we need to keep him you know paul will like these little cats for his pawns wow what are these other little fish a little bluegill ow a little baby look how cute he is the catfish are adorable i set one closer to the rocks and one out in a little bit deeper of a hole oh like some big prawns big males oh oh kelly wait do you see this look at that what lukey look at me dude they're flipping all in here i've never seen a crawdad like that that's not a crawdad that's some kind of a prawn luke and we caught females what they're all attacking attacking them do we got how many is in there four or five we got six and one trap ones dude he'll be able to start his own little prawn breeding ground look at that one more oh oh get him in the bucket it could be a shrimp i say we reset this jake what do you say yeah the only reason i want to reset it is because we have caught giant prawns in this ditch there's not even much water in it this is the only end of it that actually has any amount of water in it but i've came down here before at night and with the light their eyes just shine like crazy now anytime you're trapping you don't want to throw your old bait where your traps are because they'll find that and they don't need to go in the trap so we're going to leave this one right here we're going to take the other one with us we're going to go back to the house real quick put these in a secure pond then we're going to go to the ranch look how many fish we caught out of two traps like eight shrimp and probably four or five catfish my god is this oh wait that one looks like it's gonna attack or at least attack if i get out no really can i go hit the baby yeah sure it's gonna get scared kelly i think she's getting mad that one's scary looking picking up both hands oh whoa what do you got in there luke wow what is that whoa get the bucket jake i got catfish here let's dump it in here i'm so excited they ate the bait dead frog yuck luke you caught a bunch in your trap that's a walking catfish luke walking cafe yeah watch him there we go they do like a wiggle yeah wiggle you show them how you do your wiggle no you you do your wiggle so these catfish right here anytime it floods in florida you'll see them crossing main highways roads all kinds of stuff check out this luke a little spotted tilapia oh it's not the same as the big tilapia you see in that people eat and in all the canals this is called a spotted tilapia they only get about maybe two or three pounds and they're dark green on the back whoa that's a water bug yuck no thank you that's a water bug all right so this is the first trap jake go get the other one it's in the trail and watch out for that gator oh let's go all right let's see what he's got well i think you got one call dad yep you got bugs yuck i hate bugs i love them yuck oh you got got it yep this this trap had the yellow jack head in it that kelly speared a couple weeks ago what is that catfish that is not a catfish some sort of it's dead but it's oh my hold on is this what i think it is it's hard it kind of looks like one of them elephant um catfish i don't know what it is or why it's dead but it's definitely not anything native so thankfully we're not depending on crawl fishing for dinner because that's the only thing we've got so far as far as crawfish he caught a couple more of these really colorful looking fish [Music] little minnows for those y'all across the country that aren't in florida you would never see these types of fish look how the colors on him though it's pretty luke you're not scared an alligator's gonna get you nope you guys how crazy was that alligator footage we had no idea it was there nothing and just like that you could get caught here in florida now as soon as we pulled up here i checked to make sure there wasn't one here so the kids are safe let's get this trap right here man this one had a lot of bait in it probably some crawdads what in the heck there's something ew i don't know if there's something gnarly in this trap wow oh i don't know what it is what is that thing everything over here that's dead is nasty walking catfish it really they they're not great for the environment they're not i don't care that they're dead but what is this thing oh it's a salamander look at its little legs that's exactly what it is i don't think he's dead i just think he's really tired they breathe air i have never seen such a thing ever look how it sucked back up under the bank pull something apparently has had this trap tore a hole in it look where something's attacked it there's nothing in it see the big bite marks well i knew i told kelly last night i knew at least one would get destroyed it's all chopped up see the holes so the more i think about jake's trap that we just pulled i don't think that was an alligator that did that i think there was an alligator laying there because alligators don't swim under the water and find something in a trap and eat it that way i think that was either kia which was the otter that robert and them rescued or another otter or a big soft shell turtle or something like that i don't think that that was an alligator luke stay back i think there's definitely going to be something in here though nope same thing oh i got some grass shrimp who zip tied this you did you did i got that's crazy there's not much in here but you can see right here oh that's why all right so i think what we've discovered is if you put it in this ditch right here either the otter or the turtles tear them up now this one i left out of the water a little bit not on purpose it just happened so hopefully whatever's in here if there is something in here is still alive oh god yuck ah oh my god looks like we got ourselves some more slippery slimy creatures look at this luke get back there's a big snake in there oh my god that's a snake dude i hate snakes can i take it out i want to take it off all right it's a water snake water moccasin no just a water snake and there's a big eel in there that's a huge eel jake yeah oh gosh our hands in there guys her hand is in the trap do you have gloves just go fast no just do it i couldn't even put my hand where your hands at right now do it you dive with sharks show everybody your scar real quick wait i need to put my hair up oh we gotta first do our hair ladies and gentlemen it's in the way show them your arm real quick that's a shark bite that snake's got nothing on the shark it's just not a very like this all these things are in my way just go in there like a ninja wow and grab it well i'm a ninja you're a ninja a snake's joke no way jose look at that it's disgusting can we keep him no oh look at what jake's got jake's got get him out of there jake he's flying he's right in the grass so he don't get dirty he's slimy there are so hard to pick up you can hear them they're like squishy come here bring it here whoa this is the scene you'll be caught at the creek see the little legs um oh is that a salamander no that's not what we caught in the trap earlier oh no it's what we caught in the creek like you're holding the leopard gecko they like to walk this look at his little tongue but what about kelly grovin a snake so for all y'all wondering if kelly's just looks you just saw her reaching that trap and catch a wild water bandit snake and to some that's not much but to people with a snake phobia that's a lot you could you couldn't take a picture get away from me i'm not gonna i just no i don't trust you for nothing get i just want to see a picture get back hey for those of y'all with a snake phobia you know that that took a lot of guts to reach your hand in there they're cool what do you think boys was that a fun day of trapping yeah look what you think i want to hold this eel how about kelly over here is it slippery or what very much like you could hear kelly what are you doing taking a selfie with the snake that's disgusting that is there's nothing disgusting about that all right everybody that's a wrap we're going to come back out here when we're regrouped we're going to get more traps and we're going to do a couple really awesome videos and robert called me dear meat for dinner he wants to do one too so the next time you see me we'll be at paul kefar's house digging a big pond with big machines and going over his awesome little ponds that he has and we're gonna take the prawns in those catfish that we caught earlier in the day to paul's house right now this video's over kelly's taking a selfie with the snake luke's playing with the eel we're gonna turn all this stuff loose head back to my
