domain doesn't technically have one either but that's because his domain is in complete not exactly an intended feature domain clashes and the aftermath The Clash of domains is pretty straightforward when two opposing domains are cast the barriers Collide in a battle for Supremacy over the Shad begins during a clash the sh head effect of both domains is neutralized and the domain with better refinement ultimately wins out curs energy amounts and compatibility a little bit more on that later also play a small role if two domains are evenly matched the battle continues until one side is no longer able to maintain the domain either by bodily injury or lack of curse energy the winning domain then takes over and the sure hit is immediately reinstated in Shibuya doon's domain was challenged impossible we've only seen one instance of a three-way domain expansion but it was interrupted by a fourth party shortly after The Clash started the narrator tells us that a clash of domains is already complicated and adding a third one to the mix is insanity this likely implies that a 3way clash is unsustainable and that the barriers may all break naturally because of their variance open domains versus closed ones we've only seen one Clash like this so far in the series but the advantage that open domains have over standard domains is that they often extend past the radius of the normal ones this in turn allows the shood of the open domain to attack the outer shell uncontested meaning unless you can outright overwhelm the opponent's open domain your normal one will swiftly fall as it's weak to outside attacks once the domain shatters the user goes through curse technique burnout for a varying period of time after the domain is gone the user is unable to use their curse technique this has been a thing since the very beginning but it feels like gig has played fast and loose with it from time to time after maho's first domain expansion he is quickly able to shift himself around and make his Escape meanwhile in more recent chapters he takes aari over 4 minutes for him to regain access to his curse technique G has always said that techniques become more difficult to use after domain expansion with how they're portrayed post Shibuya it feels like a soft redcon for now after domain expansion using a curse technique is impossible and the amount of time it takes to get your Technique back varies from person to person domain conditions the conditions of a domain is something relatively new in the manga but has technically existed since the beginning domains being strong on the inside is a condition created by the sorcerer because the goal of a domain is to trap your opponent so giving up its outer durability completely in favor of its inner one is a clear give and take as such doing the opposite because it is also possible but not something that could be easily done by most Sorcerers the size of a domain can also be altered but shrinking into the size of a basketball is a feat that can only be done by Gojo because of his experience in the prison realm what makes this difficult to pull off is once again the visualization aspect while domains are much larger on the inside one must still be able to visualize that bigger space you try imagining yourself and another sweaty man locked up in a basketball siiz sphere that's actually somehow bigger on the outside trying to imagine both things s multaneously is a little difficult two other applications that we've seen include the following specifically targeting once sure hit usually anything within a domain becomes a target for the sure hit Gojo's unlimited void attacks everyone not touching him anyone inside maho's domain can be transfigured anti- Moon Palace halts the movements of all within it you get the picture a skilled enough sorcerer can theoretically exclude one or more people within the domain allowing them to jump the enemy while not risking the lives of their comrades if Gojo had been capable of defeat he might have wiped the disaster curses in shibba with little effort and finally my personal favorite moving coordinates yep you heard that right with enough skill a sorcerer can literally move the entire barrier from point A to point B we've seen this used twice so far so this is all we really know regarding it but with visualization becoming more and more important gaygay must have been watching freerun I imagine it has something to do with seeing the domain in a different place that allows for this feat to be possible final note on domain conditions characters whose curse techniques are directly tied to their domains like aari and higuma have an easier time with changing conditions on the Fly While most Sorcerers have to worry about the creation speed of the barrier or its volume aari and hikara can practically do it without thinking and with that you know all there is to know about barriers I think so go watch my JJ cus
