Throughout Hypixel’s lifetime, there’s
been over 50 different ranks, some of which you’ve never even heard of. Some of these ranks have either been lost
in time or hidden from the wider public entirely until now. So, today, let’s go through EVERY Hypixel
rank ever, shall we? Like a goat, I am made. Starting with the quote — unquote “normal”
ranks, we have the Default rank, which gives you a gray name in-game alongside gray chat
messages. It’s the rank all players get when they
first log in Hypixel, and is also the most common rank on the server. It has every disadvantage you can think of,
from a 3 second cooldown between your public chat messages to being locked out of exclusive
cosmetics. The VIP rank is the cheapest of all purchasable
ranks on the server, available for around $8. VIP removes the chat cooldown the default
rank has and also changes your chat colors to white. The rank has some useful features, such as
flying in the Hypixel lobbies and gives you access to neat commands like /fw which lets
you launch fireworks in the lobby. The VIP+ rank is the next upgrade, costing
$18. Unlike the VIP rank, this rank contains a
golden + color and also gives you some new perks like being able to create guilds on
the server. MVP costs $38 and is by far the least worth-it
rank to buy on the server. It has nothing special to it, although it
does improve on various perks from the previous ranks. All ranks have improving perks, such as rank-exclusive
cosmetics – XP bonuses for special seasonal events, how long you can access replays for
and skyblock wardrobe slots. MVP is basically VIP+ just with a small increase
of these various features, although being over double the price. MVP+ costs $54, it gives you a red + color
by default and allows for infinite map selection for Bedwars, Skywars and Murder Mystery. Some additional perks include access to track
your achievement progress and the ability to use epic warp scrolls in Skyblock, allowing
for extra fast travel to various areas throughout the game. MVP++ is a rank, which requires MVP+ to be
purchased or even acquired. The rank is purchasable for $10 a month, and
the rank color is golden by default, but can also be changed optionally to aqua like MVP
and MVP+. Both MVP+ and MVP++’s plus colors can be
changed depending on your Hypixel level from the default red at level 1 up to the black
+ color at level 250, and if you gift 100 people ranks in-game, which costs around $500-1000,
you get the Dark Blue + color as an option. MVP++ has various different unique perks such
as being able to disguise yourself with a nickname, host private games and make public
parties which anyone can join. Some other features that come with the rank
are having a golden guild tag option, gaining access to the majority of Hypixel’s head
statuses which lets you show off various stats for most games, getting speed 2 in the lobbies
instead of speed 1 or no speed like the other ranks, having your “gg” chat messages
after games be golden, and gaining access to a variety of in-game emoticons. YOUTUBE Rank is one of the most notorious
and recognizable ranks on the server, including various fun perks like enabling disco mode
in Sky Wars, getting a near guarantee murderer or detective in Murder Mystery (optionally),
the ability to choose what nick you wanna use – with the exception of names like PewDiePie
or some sort of hate speech, being able to vanish and nick in lobbies and more. YOUTUBE rank contains a variety of requirements,
some of which are strict while others are a bit loose – but the general consensus
is, you must have some Hypixel content on your channel, have at least 30,000 subscribers
if you’re primarily a Minecraft creator, and at least 100,000 if you’re a gaming
one. There’s a variety of other rules as-well,
but they don’t matter as much as they’re for certain exceptions. The Game Master rank, or GM for short, is
one of Hypixel’s staff ranks. They serve various different purposes, with
the primary GM roles being moderation; as in dealing reports, mutes, bans etc. and Quality
Assurance, as in managing bug reports and such things. All Game Masters are able to punish people
regardless of their job, but moderation game masters do most of the heavy work when it
comes to moderating the server. The rank has some simple requirements like
working a minimum of 20 hours a week functioning as a part-time job, being 18+, having previous
experience and being knowledgeable when it comes to how Minecraft works. The Admin rank is a rank given to Hypixel
Inc. employees with various different positions including Quality Assurance, Support, Builders,
Video Producers, Server Managers, Backend Developers, Game Developers, Artists and more. Different admins have different permissions
on the server, with developers and managers likely being able to do much more than any
of the other admins; it’s believed all admins have permissions to ban and mute players,
but Hypixel has made it clear they don’t share which admins have what permissions. NoxyD is a player who has the Admin rank,
despite not working for Hypixel Inc. any longer. He is the CEO of Hypixel Studios, which is
owned by Riot Games, which is the game studio behind Hytale, separate from Hypixel Inc.
which is the Minecraft’s server’s company. It’s believed that Noxy has the rank just
as a friendly gesture and due to his position on Hypixel Studios. The owner rank is given to the 2 owners of
the server: Simon, better known as “hypixel”, and Felipe, also known as “Rezzus”. They have all permissions on the server. Moving on from the standard ranks, let’s
take a look at some of the special and deleted ranks on the server. The HELPER Rank was one of the 3 first Hypixel
staff ranks, with some pretty simple requirements as in being 16, having at least the VIP rank
on the server and being able to communicate with a microphone via. Teamspeak. The HELPER’s job was to assist the moderation
team with moderation, and help out players in lobbies and throughout the server. The MOD Rank was the promotion of the HELPER
rank, and served a similar purpose to the GAME MASTERs we see today. MODs were tasked with various different positions,
such as moderating the server, the Hypixel discord, helping with quality assurance among
other things. HELPER and MODs were removed in favor of game
masters which serve the mod’s purpose and their new support website which serves the
Helper’s one. Unlike HELPERS and MODS, GMs function as a
part time job meaning you get paid for your work. Mods who couldn’t, or chose not to become
Game Masters when the rank was replaced received 10 years of MVP++ as a special thank you for
their service. The Jr. Helper rank was a temporary position on the
server during 2014, where players as young as 14 could acquire the rank, hence the name,
“Junior” Helper. The rank was removed not long after being
implemented, and only a few of the Jr. Helpers were promoted to Helper. The Build Team rank was given to… You guessed it, Hypixel’s Build Team. The rank was eventually removed and replaced
with ADMIN. The Build Team+ rank, surprise surprise, was
given to Hypixel’s lead builders and Build Team managers. The + color was the default red on the rank
and could not be changed. It was replaced by Admin as-well, however
when Hypixel was showcasing dropper back in 2021, they did show that a builder rank still
likely exists in either their testing server or building server. I know it says “BT” and the rank colors
are different, but it would make sense if that stood for “Build Team”. This also leaves speculation for what potential
other ranks there are which we have no idea about. The Sloth rank was given to Simon “hypixel”’s
alt or second account, “Slothpixel”. It was eventually removed from the account,
but we’ve seen the account mentioned various times since then, even recently throughout
the server’s history as Simon’s alt. The MCP rank was given to the account “MasterControl”. MCP stood for “Master Control Panel”. It is speculated the rank and account were
used for having a UUID to mark players when they got banned by Hypixel’s Watchdog anti-cheat,
which in short means it was used more as a tool for moderation. The PIG Rank was first given to YouTube Legend
Technoblade after winning the Minecraft Monday event hosted by KEEMSTAR back in 2019. Originally, Techno had to upload weekly to
retain the rank, but ended up not having to after a while. Minecraft Monday was a weekly content creator
competition event which lasted for only a few months. After winning the first Minecraft Monday,
Techno was told for every other event win he got, he’d get another + added to his
rank. He ended up winning an additional 3 Minecraft
Mondays, getting himself 3 +’s to his name. The unique thing about Techno’s + colors,
is that they’re aqua, which is not a + color any other rank has. Now, since Simon Hypixel was a “tweeting
deleter”, I can’t find the specific posts I’m looking for – but he mentioned that
5 +’s was the limit a rank could have on Hypixel, and hinted towards something beyond
PIG+++++ (I think?) for Techno, but, unfortunately that never happened. The Events rank was given to 2 accounts: “HypixelEvents”
and “HypixelKaraoke”. I’m not sure what HypixelEvents was, or
still is maybe used for – but HypixelKaraoke was used for Hypixel’s Karaoke team, which
shut down in 2020 – with the events rank taken away from the account with it. I was curious as to what in specific it was
used for, so I contacted one of the people behind Hypixel Karaoke, who explained it was
used for various reasons to manage the Karaoke events and community. TommyInnit, a huge creator and comedian today
used to be a Hypixel YouTuber, and has been promised by SImon to receive a custom red
rank once he hits 15 million subscribers. Cecer, a former Hypixel admin who used to
troll around with various Twitch streamers once trolled a Skywars streamer, who was using
the Salmon kit to flood the map with water, by sending the chat message “You are now
SALMON”, which is the message that appears in chat when a staff member changes your rank
to whatever rank it might be. Because said player was nicked, we can’t
really tell if the “Salmon” rank was truly a real rank change, but knowing how much of
a troll Cecer was in his time, it was probably just a fake message. The Cringe rank was given to Lego Maestro,
who used to be an active Hypixel creator. On-stream, he had received a bunch of Hypixel
gold, which costs money, but lets you gift players ranks. For a few seconds on-stream, Lego received
the CRINGE rank from Simon Hypixel himself before it was taken away again. The Mojang rank was given to a select few
Mojang employees over the years, including Searge, Grumm, Marc and Dinnerbone. Interestingly, Minecraft’s most well known
developer, jeb, has YouTube rank on the server instead of the Mojang one, but it seems he
first and last played on Hypixel before the rank was initially introduced. The apple rank was given to the player “Apple”,
also known as MonsieurApple who has allegedly worked on applications such as Slack & DropBox;
the rank was most likely just a gesture from Simon to one of his friends. Today, the rank no longer exists. The God rank is a little mysterious, but I’ve
done some digging on it: Some posts from 2014 say that an Admin or another was nicked as
Helix__Fossil in a fun event between staff and the community, which could be true, but
the player Helix__Fossil also exists and had logged into Hypixel for the first time before
these rumors spread. It is said that some admins gave this player
the GOD Rank on the server as a joke, which would make sense if some staff had nicked
as them. They likely had some connection to some of
the admins at the time which is how they got the rank temporarily. The Angus rank was given to the Minecraft
account PreparedAngus for an extended period of some years. This is a rank I did a lot of digging into,
but couldn’t find anything on.. Like at all. Judging off previous ranks, it could either
be a friend of Simon, an alt account or a former staff member on the server, but honestly,
I don’t know. The MCProHosting rank was given to, from what
I can find, the players HumidMC and Cory. MCProHosting is a Minecraft server host which
had worked together with Hypixel in the past – using the now expired code “hypixel”
when purchasing a server from their shop would give you access to a few exclusive cosmetics
on the server, which are now unobtainable. The rank was originally all red, although
it was eventually changed to its 3-colored design which is more well known today. It was the only rank on the server to ever
contain lowercase letters. On the topic of working together with Hypixel,
Microsoft, which owns Minecraft used to have a live streaming platform known as Mixer,
formerly known as Beam – which led to the introduction of the BEAM rank on the server,
which was later renamed to MIXER. The rank was given to 2 players who worked
on Mixer, and for a small period of time – viewers of Mixer streams would be able to vote on
the builds of players in Hypixel Build Battle from the live stream, directly interacting
with the game. There’s only this 1 screenshot of it from
Mixer’s announcement back in 2016, which I had to find from an internet archive because… Well, Mixer shut down, but I wouldn’t be
surprised if this was like… Basically never used as well. The Beta Tester rank was given to players
who had played some Beta games earlier into the server’s history. It was then removed from the server at one
point or another a really long time ago. The Retired rank was given to former Hypixel
Admin NoxyD after his retirement from Hypixel Inc. As I explained earlier in this video, Noxy
is now CEO of Hypixel Studios and has the Admin rank. The SPECIAL rank was first given to the player
Chaz_ when a moderator told a helper that he was special to him. Chaz responded to the moderator with, "I wish
I were special to you." The former Admin AgentKid, probably out of
boredom, gave him this custom rank. This rank would then be removed not long after,
however after the server had been reset – Chaz would receive the rank again. After a few days of having the rank, AgentKid
caught on and would teleport him to the server's developer world, asking a few questions, such
as how he still had the rank after it was removed. By then, his rank was finally removed for
good and was replaced with the YOUTUBE rank. Today, Chaz has lost that rank as well and
only has the MVP+ rank. The “Above The Rules” rank was given to
AgentKid as a joke at some point for a short period of time. For April Fools in 2015, Hypixel renamed the
ranks purchasable in the store to [LOL], [LOL+], [WAT] and [WAT+] in reference to a popping
meme at the time. MVP++ didn’t exist at the time so the rank
couldn’t have been renamed. For April Fools in 2016, Hypixel renamed all
donator ranks to “ADMIN”, YouTube rank to “ADMON” and Staff ranks to “ADIM”. For April Fools in 2020, Hypixel renamed all
donator ranks in Skyblock in specific to “JER”, “JER+”, “JRY”, “JRY+” and “JRY++”. YouTube rank was changed to “YERRY”, Technoblade’s
PIG+++ rank was replaced with “JERRY+++”, Helper and Mod were changed to “JERRY”
in their own respective colors, and Admin was renamed to “SR JERRY”. Jerry in Hypixel Skyblock is that one NPC
you can’t get rid of and is always on your island, and is the most universal Skyblock
joke. Speaking of Skyblock; every week, players
get to vote for a Skyblock mayor. All mayors have different perks to help the
players. One time, a new mayor candidate called Dante
just appeared with question marks as his perks. When the curious Skyblock player base decided
to vote him into the mayor’s office, it turned out he was kind of like.. A dictator who took over the game for a few
weeks and only made Skyblock more miserable to play. In short, Hypixel eventually had a vote for
a new mayor to overthrow Dante – and that mayor would be an actual Hypixel player. The top voted players were 2nfg, 56ms, FurryEBoy,
Refraction, TimeDeo, Technoblade and ThirtyVirus. Technoblade had won the election, and the
runner-ups had gotten the Minister rank (except 2nfg because he was banned), while Techno
had gotten the Mayor rank instead and became the new mayor of Skyblock temporarily. Skyblock aside, I must once again bring up
Hypixel statuses. There have been a variety of custom statuses
used by admins, but there are also statuses which are internally linked to custom ranks
on the server despite not being visible: the Hypixel player council member status, the
Hypixel proofreader status, the Hypixel Wiki editor status and the Hypixel Karaoke team
status. The Hypixel Karaoke team, as I mentioned before
has shut down – so this status and rank has been removed. This is the same with the Hypixel Player Council,
which was essentially just a group of players who would assist developers with ideas and
feedback directly. One notable thing about the secret player
council rank is that they had the ability to choose their own custom nicks just like
YouTubers. Proofreaders are translation managers for
various languages on the server, and wiki editors are editors of the official Hypixel
skyblock wiki found at wiki.hypixel.net. The remaining of these special ranks, as in
proofreaders and wiki editors do have a special tag in the Hypixel forums as well. The Hypixel Player council also had the same
when that rank was still around. And that– is all the Hypixel ranks… I did an all-nighter to make this video in
