I guess it's an unpopular opinion, but I love her and think she deserved that gold medal! She had a great choreography and her jumps were massive. And it's common to underestimate backloading. Zhenya tried to backload her program a month before olympics, and it didn't work.

This program was amazing, just a truly incredible display of athleticism. For me Evgenia should have won, that is solely my opinion, but Alina deserved it for completely different reasons. They were both amazing, and I hope Alina can have a long and successful career. I would love to see a rematch between her and Evgenia in 2022.
