I will never forget that night, I was crying uncontrollably by the time he did his step sequence.

After the season he had with that stupid foot injury and nobody knowing what state he was in, I wasn’t sure he was gonna make it.

Seeing him on top of that podium and with Javi by his side is probably my favourite Olympic moment to date.

An absolute legend of the sport.

I remember reading a recent interview of Yuzuru’s where he talked about how he considers himself a challenger rather than a champion, and for some reason that really stuck with me. Not to sound dramatic but he’s one of the most dangerous people to underestimate in competition.

ahhhh i can't believe it's been 3 years! it honestly feels like yesterday when i was literally glued to my screen near tears watching this. yuzu will never fail to amaze me - even when the circumstances are against him, he makes it through.

Yuzuru is an actual freaking badass. Nothing else I can say. The sheer mental strenght to go into these Olympics with his injury, the little & hampered preperation time, the pressure he had.... I don't think many people understand the pressure he faced. The way he's treated like a national hero in Japan, the attention and expectations he got with the whole "potential first OGM repeat in men's since Button!"... and then he produced like that on a busted angle. Between all his natural talent and hard work, I don't think Yuzu would have achieved as much as he did if he wasn't so mentally strong. He's just incredible.

I don’t know how Yuzu made it, but I still remember the dread, the excitement, the fear and the hopes of the time as if everything happened just yesterday. And I still watch the Olympic Chopin and Seimei with my heart beating somewhere in my throat in real fear he might fall... still.

This is one of the greatest Olympics stories ever. I still can't believe he was only on ice for two weeks before this and still managed to win the 2nd OGM. Dude needs to lend some of his mental fortitude to me.

To me, this is the best figure skating performance ever. I have rewatched it a million times. This program is so beautiful and he feels the music, not just skates to it. Long live the king!

I have such fond memories of this. I have no idea why but even all things considered, I never stopped believing he'd win. I was just so...confident about it, I don't know why. And then he skated that incredible SP and I knew it was a sure thing. This performance of Seimei is not perfect, but it's still the best in my opinion. The passion is unmatched.

I remember even days before the Olympics started I was just so sxcited. The day of the SP was like Christmas when a was a child. I was so rvous but elated? at ehe same time,. I it was great.

I remember staying up until 3AM on a week day when I needed to get up at 7.30 the next day to go to work, watching through a lousy low quality stream, and yet I yelled at the top of my lungs "he won!!!".

Now I know I took so many things for granted back then. Yuzuru had to stop training for two months after NHK 17, he just recovered his quads a week before heading for Pyeongchang (and his 4lo literally, the day before), he was still nursing an injured ankle and taking a shitton of painkillers. But even with all those obstacles, he won thanks to his enormous willpower, kinda like a miracle. It's really something to inspire us all in our darkest moments.

Yesterday I binge watched all of Yuzu's performances instead of doing my math homework. Clearly, this is a sign that I should do it again today.
