hello everyone in this video tutorial we are going to create a 3d model from this 2d drawing the drawing will be uploaded on the Pinterest account and the model is really really very good for practicing and you can definitely follow it in any version of creo parametric beat for 303 creo 2 because there are no is such complex commands being used I have just used the commands and made them do teep work at its best so you'll be encountering few options which you might not have come across like I have created this custom shaped hole and mirror is I have been somewhat tricky over here so the main reason behind creating this video is to prepare you for the interview test now these types of models are frequent to come across so we will first of all read this drawing what details are given where are those details then plan out our 3d model and finally create it in creo so we'll go step by step first of all we will read the drawing now yes it looks like very complex and very hard it is somewhat but not that much the way is looking first over let's break down the drawing this is ISO view and this one is also over ayah so you right so we don't need to worry about there just for references now there are so many use be then this C profile and this one these are the section and detail views so you will need to come over here whenever required so finally that leaves us with the two views so if you want you can take the screenshot right now and practice it by yourself and because later on the drawing is going to become much cluttered so this is the front and this one is the top view it is quite evident that we will be moving ahead with the top view our day sketch will be this one outer profile we will be creating many child features we can definitely create this profile slot then this cutout in single feature only but that is not the correct way of moving ahead because what if you need to change its depth or something like that so coming to the drawing again this will be your outer profile then we have all small small details in different we have the cutout which runs in the similar profile like this now main thing you need to note over here is now as we plan our model you need to see if the model is symmetric or not or here you can figure out that okay this counter bore hole this Revolt cut this cut out this whole profile everything is on the right hand side also so if I consider this is my center line then left end and kind of LHS equals to RHS so this model is symmetric with respect to the vertical center line hence we can what we can do is we can create all the features on the left hand side first and then mirror about this vertical plane whatever be it like XY wise I do anything what you choose so we will be creating the left for left part and mirror all the child features the only thing that we are not going to mirror so it is symmetric that is the outer profile so we will be creating the whole profile in one sketch only so it becomes easier to have the references and yes that is the good sign of robust model you need to have a solid base fine so we'll go ahead with that then we will be creating this front cut out and then start doing these small details we'll come on to this details later on whenever you have such drawings or complex sorry such drawings with more number of details then don't go after whole drawing once you figure out the best sketch and profile and two or three steps then start moving on to the another child features as you kown creating the model unless if you have very big features to relieve it then only you need to plan out your model at the first go for here we know that these slots holes are very minor details sorry so you can go head step by step later on after starting the base of the model so the dimensions that we are going to initially deal with are 200 radius then 35 this 35 over here and yes we have this dimension also and then we have center to Center distance of 200 so let's start with that and I will keep on bringing the drawing whenever necessary so I will just unhide everything and obviously we go ahead with the top plan create the centerline at first then yes origin I will be keeping this one as my origin now you can keep this portion coinciding with the origin also and that will definitely help in reducing one plane for this revolt cut out but yes if you don't want to get in too much regulation straight away take that as the origin yes I have created the center line now create the circle then line we have then we have arc yes we want Centrepointe coinciding now I will mirror sorry yes I will mirror them and then create this arc let's keep it like this first of all yes it is coinciding perfect now we will delete this segment okay first of all let's assign the tangent relation okay let me just start this any clicks or keystrokes will appear over here if in case I don't mention them what's wrong over here okay this will take much long time I will delete this segment done now make this tangent perfect so this will become tangent by default well here we have this extension we don't need it same thing over here make this tangent so this is also become now okay this is also tangent and two corner perfect our sketch is closed now let's see what dimensions we want center of this arc is coinciding with the origin that is quite obvious because 35 arc is concentric with the hole this arc is concentrated to this circle hence they will share the common center point okay that is done now this X triangle that is not required we have Center to Center distance perfect still what is left this is 3590 was both center-to-center okay yes so now I will just select all the dimensions go into the modifier and check the regenerate I will regenerate later 200 then this is 40 this is 35 and this is 200 no that is 35 the dimensions that you are editing whatever dimension you are editing a box will appear which indicates yes you are editing the dimension over here so regenerate accept 60 is the depth no need to go for midplane there is no point accept it now second step is going in the front create the profile so let's see what dimensions we have got 32 then we have 35 lat 20 bit also 13 19 days angle is 40 degree and 1 finit at 66 and the constant offset of 32 so let's implement those dimensions we will start with like this and just watch out for the unnecessary relations that are being assigned see over here you can see it is asking to make it equal no just move ahead arbitrarily and make it like this I will create the centerline because I will mirror this sketch so first of all this is the dimension we want it is 40 and I will lock it yes then what we have got yes 32 we make this to parallel and this distance is also 32 and this offset I think we could have taken the offset come on anyway yes so this is it and now start assigning the Philips I will keep this Filat with the extended endpoint like this and then I will check it check the circular trim command I will tell you the reason the both of these fields are equal this is 13 now the reason being we have got this dimension that I had shown right 66 so this one is 66 this is 19 this one is 20 all the dimensions are assigned select everything and mirror with respect to this center line perfect okay I will select the midplane option through does it work do you remove one [Music] let's go in the option through all both the sides but we need to change the direction of cut out perfect that's exactly what we want now we are going towards creating the child features but okay let me create this rule cut out over here you can see radius 33 and the height is 17 and from this figure only you can see that this one is 180 degree revolt cut out so quite easy 33 and then you can extend the profile to whatever distance you want so fair enough quite easy nothing this hard is such so but before that let's create those bigger cut outs that will give us the X's for creating the revolve cut out so I'll create this diameter 50 cut out and dimension 40 from the origin in Y and from Center we can use the concentric relation or we know Center to Center distance are 200 now it is better to give the dimensions as far as possible because the manufacturer or manufacturer or the driller won't that you need to create a whole concentric to the another hole so better to give the dimensions that's how they market and not using the concentrate center points so extrude cut here we have only one big profile of cylindrical shapes circular shape so we can go with the extrude cut out else at any point of time I would say Holcomb and this whole command should be preferred hold wizard whatever so this is 14 and try to create as much as possible geometry on the datum planes because they are never going to be deleted keeping the depth through one and I will accept it now we will go for the rework cut out that I mentioned earlier fourth it will create the datum plane so parallel to this plane press ctrl select this axis I don't want it to be like this parallel to it I will accept create the revolt cut out and now we have got this axis so that has made our work lot easier and then we have Center and you can make it symmetric select the points and centerline sorry select these points and now centerline I think yes it is symmetric from here the distance between these two is 33 and yes this is you just keep it slightly more don't make it coincide with this line because that will not completely remove the material since the radius is increasing at this point so let me just show you what I am saying it's many of want to get that one let's say I'm keeping it okay I sorry I forgot to keep the geometric center line okay you can see for now this cutout is like this only and so really now I didn't keep the cutter okay you can see this under kind of profile that is not the desired one and the hence we will make sure it completely removes the material and hence I will extend it up to the certain point 33 remains fixed accept it and just make it 180 degree okay okay yes in the previous over I didn't give 180 degree let me show you why that also so you can know 180 degree and midplane option then now you can see there is this undercut profile right this is not the desired one we need to remove the material completely so I will just go in the Edit sketch and extend it up to certain point accept and now you can see this is correct so I will accept it finally now moving on to the slot cut this one and this whole profile so slot is quite easy to figure out again I would say go the datum planes create this slot so going the pellet select the shape close it rotate it by 90 and I will start building these centre lines I don't need them just make it coincide I have got its center to center dimension that is quite easy to figure out which is 32 then diameter is okay it is already given I will undo it and it is 15 finally we have the radius which is 207 fair enough so now I select this as reference so I can make both of them coincide give it that one and okay remove the material through all depth and perfect now going towards steel all now this detail is important we have got the section a right a yeah which is this one over here so let's see what we have got here this is the section view and it has got the whole profile in this shape like this this this this and this right so first diameter is 50 whose depth is 11 then we have got chamfer dimension also but we are not going to create it over here we will handle it as the separate feature then we have got bullets so that fill it is two over here and two at the top again same thing we will handle it as an individual feature then we have got 24 diameter which is the smaller one smallest one and 43 is the smaller than 50 over here its depth is 5 so the remaining depth will be of 24 diameter what is he we have got 32 height now how to create it in creo we don't have such profile right so I will go in the whole command I will go for sketch and I want to sketch it I will create these center lines perfect now whatever the profile that we can see in this section view we need to create the negative of that profile because we need to remove that much material so this is like this and somewhat like this I'll keep the geometric center line and dimensions will pop up so let's use okay the dimensions are the way I want so select everything and I'll modify them don't want to regenerate so this one is 24 is I told smaller one is 24 then bigger than that is 43 then 50 total height 32 this is 11 and the bottom depth is 5 regenerate the profile and accept it okay now placement our placement should be this one this zero zero should be the distance because because those planes intersect at origin perfect and except let's make sure that our orientation is correct you might run out in different orientations so just flip it around and you will definitely get what you wanted so let me measure it analysis and measure this diameter is 50 perfect this one is 24 this is 43 correct now you can see this extra material over here don't worry about it it will be removed in when we assign theif Willits so in this of course if you are not going to assign the flat over here just increase the depth that material will be removed the reason being it is the transition of flat two curved surface nothing else so now come in 2d features which can be now mirrored very tiny ones so we will start with this hole again so it's profile is given over here it says okay the dope profile sorry actually this will be the end it is inverted counterbore all so small diameter is 10.5 bigger one is 22 depth is 28 of counterbore and through a through hole which will be lying on 20mm radius over here this one you can see so that is the view section view of this portion which says the hole ends like this left is 28 and diameter so let's see same thing I would go create the hole but this one is simple counter bore hole so shape smaller one is ten point five this is twenty two depth is through all and small depth is 28 okay placement now this is tricky thing over here so how to deal with that one you can move ahead in many ways but the easiest one which I could find is this one point and we have already got the location of that hole on this turbulence right so if we go over here you can see now it would be hard to see but let me clear up some things sorry for that yes now this hole is at 20 distance from the origin and yes 40 from here so let's assign those dimensions this one is 40 20 okay okay and our hole is made coincide with that point clickhole orientation which should be vertical and think there is some issue let me check the shape oh that is correct let's see what is wrong over here let me check interesting accept it and check the dimension of the points sorry so yes this one is 25 only which should be 40 so if I change it it won't change okay picked up the wrong surface say this selected this surface and the front plane now it should work this is 40 and again this is 20 dimension okay and perfect so that's what we wanted exactly now hole is created let's create the small cutout that is this one this one now I am creating it purposely on the right-hand side because I want to show you something in the mirror command mirror feature actually so dimensions are pretty simple this is 8 mm offset from this edge it means both are parallel then we have got this profile 22 degree then 13 fillets of 4x4 fillets of radius 6 15 distance between 2 and Philips will give it at the end and from Center the dimensions dimension is 52 this one right in this line I will start creating the geometry like this just watch out for the unnecessary relations nothing else and like this so this both are parallel and even this yes 52 is correct let's give this dimension and lock it 8mm just block it then what we have got 15 is this okay before that let's assign the angle now this one is not actually vertical so you can slightly move it like this and assign the angle of 22 degree perfect then we have got four fillets of sixteen radius let's go for those very good this is six and make each of those six by assigning the equal constraint great now we have got this distance as 13 from here to here and very good this is 15 now since we assign the phillotson all the dimensions became weak and make it I'll just block it perfect this is eight good except it all the dimensions are solid now through all and except now we have got the counterbore hole at distance of 16 from the bottom and details are 14 counter bore diameter 10 10 mm radius a certain 10 mm depth after that we have now this 35 is the outer radius so from here to here it is quite evident it is 35 and then we have extra 22 mm so 35 plus 22 makes 57 depth of that counter work hole so sorry now create the datum plane distance of 16 except create the whole orientation with respect to this face perfect now assigning the dimensions may be what should we keep we don't need anything actually much so from the bottom it is at 16 perfect and from here it is at distance of 33 here fair enough now dimensions okay wait oh yes this is counter bore hole so this smaller diameter is 8 now you can easily figure out the dimensions they are very clear so 57 as we discussed 14 and depth is 10 perfect and accept it just keep that plane selected and see if there are yes it is perfect now what is left that small slot again I will go on the top plane extrude and I will go in the pellet racetrack keep it like this close rotate it slightly okay now I'll just ask the few centre lines like this and now get the point or here inside with perfect the dimension is 1.5 is radius so 3 will be the diameter then what else we have got we have got the dimension of 48 so from centre to this point no you don't want this one on this point to this point keep it near so you can assign the aligned dimension 48 and we have centre to centre [Music] ok yes 48 and angle is missing which is 22 degree 22 right now we can just delete this segment that we don't want delete delete and delete no don't delete just close this sketch anywhere it will be fine unless you are going to add any features over here above this above in the model tree everything will be fine except that then this segment so what are these blue dimensions okay yes that's what I like we closing the profile nothing else let it be like that only it won't make any difference we have all the required dimensions let us go through them once 1.5 48 22 degree angle from here let me just close it so you don't get any doubt at the end sorry project this profile and this profile except remove these segments that we don't want right and except everything is now good I will select through all deaths for removing the material and accept now what remains is the filete almost throughout the Model T radiuses of 2 mm so we will quickly assign those there are instead yes don't forget to assign the chamfer over here that we initially discussed let me go through that first defile - mm right perfect except now the rounds so - mm perfect select the references press ctrl oh yes before that we need to mirror right so select all those features this is not supposed to be mirrored one two three four and one driven mirror them the plane is this one except if you okay I also yes forgot this one so you can see all the things are grayed out over here thankfully I forgot to mirror this one so you can see I cannot mirror them as of now so I need to apply reapply mirror except oh just don't make any changes i forward reapply the mirror going the references or here press ctrl select another feature and accept now one thing if you have noticed all the features from left hand side got mirrored to the right hand side but not only that the feature from right hand side also got mirrored onto the left hand side so that is one very good thing like we have sort of a belief that okay mirror will happen from either side to the another side so that is not the case we can mirror everything either from left or right to the another side so that was the reason I created it on the right hand side now but yes don't go with that practice it is just to get quick ends sometime finally round sets press ctrl key let it run throughout this one this we have got slots this one is not on that at the bottom yes we need to remove this one also right so just apply it and you can see that material is removed so I think cover more that is ready now just okay this one and perfect apply the material whatever it be and the model is ready so I hope this was helpful if you any doubt you can ask in the comment section doing will be uploaded on Pinterest account link again in the description thank you for watching
