ABANDONED BARN FIND First Wash In 10 Years! Nasty Ski Boat | Satisfying Car Detailing Restoration!!

mad detailing, what is going on everybody  and welcome back to mad detailing today's   video is on this 1991 malibu ski boat and as you  guys can see this boat has been sitting for a   long time it is very neglected let me give  you guys a little backstory on this boat   this was actually my parents boat that they sold  over 10 years ago and i was scrolling on the   facebook marketplace and i happened to find this  boat for sale my mom has always been saying how   she wishes that she never sold the boat and that  it was her favorite boat and if she could ever   buy a bag she would and i got lucky and i found  it on the facebook marketplace absolutely crazy   how i found it but after these before shots i'm  going to show you guys a video of the ad that   they had for sale over 10 years ago the boat  was absolutely brand new when they sold it and   honestly breaks me hard to see this boat in this  condition but in this video i'm gonna restore this   boat as best as i possibly can and at the very  end of the video i'm gonna be surprising my mom   with her old boat back so make sure you guys stick  around to the very end because it's super exciting   if you guys are new to super thankful and this is the  original ad from their youtube channel about 10   years ago that they posted and as you guys can see  this boat was in mint condition when they sold it the first thing i'm going to do is  get everything removed from the boat   and get it all stripped down and then  i can see exactly what i'm working with   as you guys can see this boat has  definitely seen some better days after getting everything removed it's now time  to remove all these leaves from inside this boat   for this i'm gonna scoop up as much as i  can with my hands in this little dust pan   because if i were to just go ahead and  start vacuuming my vacuum is gonna get   stopped up every two seconds  so it's easier just to remove   all the the heavy amount of leaves with your  hands first before moving on to the vacuum it's honestly insane the amount of dirt and leaves  that were inside this boat i put up an entire   55-gallon trash can just four to the top with  leaves and dirt it's just absolutely ridiculous moving on to washing this boat the first thing i'm   going to do is spray our extreme apc on  the paint let that dwell for a second   and then use our pressure washer to  blow away all the nasty dirt and grime so for the inside i'm going to use the same process  our extreme abc a brush to agitate the surface   and then a pressure washer to blow everything away  i'm just quickly going around the interior of this   boat so i can see exactly what i'm working with  what needs to be replaced what's damaged and a lot   of the seeds are just taped up and spray painted  but as you guys will see later on the video i   found a way to fix them and make them look brand  new yes they will be reupholstered later on but   i'm trying to make this boat as nice as i possibly  can to surprise my mom at the very end i do not   want her to see her old boat in the condition that  it was in because that would honestly break her   heart it's honestly crazy how the owner let this  boat go to complete crap because i remember this   boat as being brand new this is actually the boat  that i learned how to wakeboard on this is a boat   that i pretty much grew up on so this boat has  a lot of memories just seeing this shape is just   just there's no reason for it all he had to  do was put a cover over it and just i don't   know i guess i can't speak for everybody but i  would never let my boat get to this condition so so after everything has been thoroughly sprayed  off now it's time to wash the boat and for this   i'm using our foam cannon with our super blue  soap i'm going to foam down the entire boat and   i'm going to continue to wash the boat with a  microfiber wash mitt when doing a boat this bad   in this oxidizer there is no reason to use a two  bucket method so i'm just using the same wash mitt   i am dipping it back in my bucket so i'm  not just going around the entire boat   but it would make absolutely no sense to move  panel by panel keep dipping in one bucket to   be another one it wouldn't make sense you're not  going to create any more scratches on this boat   or any boat in general that's been sitting  for this long that is extremely oxidized   and also later on the video i'll be doing a  paint correction on it so yeah it just wouldn't   make any sense to use a two bucket method and i  think that's where a lot of detailers go wrong   is they tell you every single car you do every  single boat every single plane every single   helicopter use a two bucket method if not you're  just creating a bunch of scratches and swirls   yes that may be true on some  cases like maintenance washes   or anything like that but if you're gonna  do a full paint correction on a vehicle   there's no need to try to follow every single  step and use a two bucket method because all   you're doing is creating more work for yourself so  yeah i thought i'll just give you guys that little   tip and as you guys can see i did not clean the  wheels on the trailer just because i have another   trailer that this boat is going on right after  this so yeah that's why i didn't waste my time   because this trailer is falling apart it's rusted  out so yeah that's why i did not clean the wheels after getting this boat pulled back inside this  carpet is just way too bad to be fixed or clean   so i'm going to just get the carpet removed and  later on the video i will be replacing the carpet   i could not find any red carpet to save my life  i tried everywhere they only had black so in the   video i'm using black but it's hard to explain  this boat because what i'm pretty much doing is   i'm trying to put a band-aid on everything that's  broken and messed up because i don't want my mom   to see this boat so there's a lot of things that  i do in this video that you guys might think oh   that's crazy that's dumb i would have did it this  way i wanted it that way i only had about three or   four days on this boat so i couldn't reupholster  the seats i couldn't find the right carpet   there's a lot of stuff that i couldn't do there's  a lot of flooring that's messed up that i need to   be replaced but i'm going to do all that later on  but i wanted to fit everything in a video for you   guys that way i was able to surprise my mom at the  very end and give you guys a good satisfying video and for the seats i'm using our extreme apc and  a brush and then i'm gonna follow that up with   some half and half bleach with water these  are actually the only two seats that came   out halfway decent after cleaning them but  the foam and everything inside of it is just   dry rotted so this thing is going to have  to be replaced but you guys will see later   on the video i do something to the seeds  that actually make them look pretty good   i'm not saying they're going to last forever  but it is a really good temporary fix so do so since these seats were in such bad condition and  there's no way that cleaning them is going to get   them to be as nice as i need them to be i'm going  to go ahead and try to re-spray them i'm only   using rust-oleum paint i'm not even going to try  to use leather dye because these seats are just   really bad and i'm going to get them re-posted  anyways so what i'm doing now is i'm painting the   center red i'm going to remove the tape and do the  same thing to the white part and i was actually   pretty mind blown with the end result as you guys  will see in a second it actually looks really good   for it being spray paint i don't know how but  it worked and i'm super happy because i was able   to get the seats to look almost identical  to when my mom sold this boat 10 years ago   so yeah i definitely would not recommend  this at home though because i'm not sure   how long it'll last and like i said this is  just a temporary fix and it will be finished later so so so since i wasn't able to reuse a red car because  it's in such bad condition i was able to use it   to get a outline for my new carpet so here  i'm using some black indoor outdoor carpet   because like i said at the beginning of the  video i could not find red carpet anywhere   so i'm pretty much using a razor knife and  i'm cutting around the old carpet and that'll   give me a good idea of what the carbon  needs to be to be put back into the boat so old owner thought it'd be a good idea  to spray paint the sides of the deck   i'm not sure why but here i'm just using a palm  sander and i'm sanding it all down and then i'm   going to seal it with some teak oil since  these back decks are made out of teak wood   and it's going to give it a nice  protection and a nice looking finish before i can get into polishing this boat what  i need to do is clay bar it and for this i'm   just using a synthetic clay bar and some clay lube  and i'm gonna go around the entire boat and what   this is gonna do is gonna remove all the deeply  embedded contaminants that is within this boat so so and to remove all this heavy oxidation and  scratches i'm using a rotary polisher with   a wool pad and i'm actually using our new mad  detailing compound that will be released very soon   but i'm gonna go around the entire boat with this  and i'm gonna finish the boat out with our rupes   mark 321 a polishing pad and some hd speed so oh do so you found oh my gosh how did you find little red
