A88 Fake iPhone Review

[Music] hello hello you time for some more reviewing action and yep as the title suggests it's a ripoff of the iPhone it's called the a88 but you wouldn't know that from the box because it comes in a box exactly like Apple's iPhone to the extent that the cover of it on the slip case here is quite literally a photo copy of the box that Apple's iPhone comes in all the way down to Apple's logos and small print I mean here's an AT&T logo they don't even operate in this country includes iPhone well that's a lie for starters because this is a ripoff Dock dock connector no it doesn't you naughty Fibbers anyway blatantly lying boxes out of the way let's see what looks inside ooh looks very authentic but we'll look at that in a moment first let's see what crazy crap it comes with we've got a manual always a good start cuz they're never in good English are they that's what we've got introduction thank you for your purchasing this mobile phone no thank you for your your let's try again thank you for your purchasing this mobile phone please read this manual carefully because it's in terrible English that will confuse you for the sake of optimum's operation and application of this mobile phone this mobile phone is designed carefully and smartly it is human oriented Compact and fit for touch and operation this mobile phone can make you to enjoy your work and life much more on the basis of sweet ring tones attractive display of head portrait of caller what if they're ugly strong file management with t flash cards AB boarded photo and Camera mp3 mp4 short long message H Bluetooth Java and other functions marvelous I look forward to it he lied right what else have we got some sort of massive cable USB one end and whatever the hell that proprietary connector is the other end that's not good usually these ripoffs just use standard mini USB or something what's in here oh some horrible headset oh feel the cheapness feel the nastiness um oh foreign plug adapter fair enough what's this like oh Main's adapter for USB I thought it was ah yes there we are uh car adapter for USB that's quite useful spare battery interesting that they give you two batteries how kind of them well maybe not we'll touch on that later and finally oh a nice freebie an absolutely teeny tiny little micro SD card reader one of those really really tiny ones that only fits in half the USB slot lovely okay that's enough of that toot let's have a look at the phone itself now physically oh there's me Hello nice to see you thanks for coming out uh yeah looks a lot like an iPhone we've got well hole for the camera we've got USB hole which is actually some weird proprietary connector as we said earlier on and off button in the right place volume control in the wrong long place and nothing on the bottom At All by the looks of it let's open her up and see what lurks beneath a battery unsurprisingly as I said you get two and inside you've got a little slot for the micro SD card 512 mgab one included for that and two SIM card slots which you can swap between whenever you like that's pretty good really don't see that very often in legal mobile phones okay if we never work out how to get the battery back in we'll switch the blighter on okay I should mention at this point the build quality isn't fantastic it feels very cheap and plasticky it's awkward to put together and it's very light although that's not a bad thing for a phone okay are we ready let's switch her on by holding down the power button for about 3 weeks it will eventually turn on oh here we go Bluetooth oh they're proud of that they should be much less proud of that random collection of jingly notes not found out sim card oh yep calm down we're not putting any in for the purposes of this review okay let's remove the stylus which I forgot to show you earlier because let's face it jabbing this one with your finger isn't going to work it's not an iPhone trust me right what we got on the screen there signal strength time battery remaining email calendar with hands an R calendar wasn't that one of the major characters from that Old Aira manga photos camera video Bluetooth ebook yeah cuz everybody loves reading books from some tiny little screen don't they games alarm calculator text settings phone multimedia services and not Safari as the icon would suggest and messages SMS okay let's go through them in order and deeply wish we hadn't first up is email o email not ready we'll skip email and go straight onto the calendar something i' would like to point out is that the calendar always shows Tuesday the 9th on the icon so it's only right a couple of times a year okay looks a bit like the iPhone one I suppose let's have a look at a day what you do you can jab about it says view tasks you can realize that the touch screen a bit hit and miss um that's quite enough of that I feel photos oh yes here's one I prepared earlier it's a very exciting photo it's of my hand and the sofa something you probably can't make out cu the screen's going to look a bit funny on video is that it's not a particularly great photo uh it's a bit washed out it's a bit blurry but it's not bright blue as it's probably going to appear on your screens right how do we get out of this press the button emergency camera actually take photos yes take photos here we go well that's it really looks quite L like the iPhone one but is nowhere near as good and let's face it the iPhone one is pretty crap in itself video now this is interesting because the iPhone will not do video but this will at least sometimes it will oh I'm loving this touchscreen video thank you as you can see it looks a lot like the phone bit until you press record obviously and here's some video I prepared earlier well the video looks a lot like this which isn't going to win any awards I also had to increase the volume of that video because it was almost inaudible now Bluetooth this is quite interesting because of course the iPhone itself is a bit crap with Bluetooth it'll only let you connect to headsets I believe and not anything else and this one well we toosy let you connect to pretty much anything would you want to though is the question the answer is a resounding no ebook not really particularly worried about this oh empty folder what of my favorite books that I remember studying it at school games these will be quite interesting I imagine games what have we got games games games oh dear touch screen seems to be getting worse and worse that is saying something puzz looks like one of those jigsaw thingies oh no sliding blocks make up the own Lisa good grief and try and survive the horrible constant sound effect enough go away back back back magic Sushi oo intriguing what actually is it it's zookeeper or Puzzle Quest or whatever with really irritating [Music] music SW why is it doing anything there we go wow seconds of amusement for anybody who hasn't played a better version which is pretty much most of the planet by now it's been released under so many different guises okay enough of that alarm you will be alarmed to discover how much the original buyer of this paid I'm not going to give the game away but suffice to say it was far too much uh yeah it's just a little alarm isn't it presumably it actually works calculator yep they've ripped off the iPhone one except they've got a really horrible un anti-aliased font away with you text oh dear this is where it gets a bit nasty let's add a note to ourselves in our task list here we go edit now they've got a copy of the iPhone's horrible little keypad thing except this one is far worse not only is it slightly uglier due to blocky fonts but and here's the real kicker the touch screen is very very iffy let's see if I can actually write myself a note to harvest over oh well only missed at one letter that's not too bad I suppose Let's ignore that shall we o settings let's alter the settings and see if we can break it user profiles file manager pen calibration phone set up blah blah blah restore sa fting Sim oh that's the interesting one o Card Exchange need to reboot now weird flower oh no Make It Stop So it has to reboot when you swap SIM cards that would make sense I suppose H still a nice feature nice feature there's not many of them on this phone so let's big them up when they come phone let's phone somebody well o it vibrates you press the buttons let's actually not F somebody there's no SIM card in it and it's still trying to call put it through the speaker come on no and call call aborted strange I should know not to try and make calls that Sim in surely multimedia oh yeah play music this is one of the best bits where you get to see what crap they loaded it within the factory disco God that Bloody num num song Wonderful How Deep Is Your Love o bgs yep what's next I saw you walking in the r a n Ry heard them walking in the rain as well nope can't stand much more of that next Larger than Life Next whenever you call some sort of plinky plony piano ballad thing going on oh now we're into the Obscure jet Chinese ones say Chinese it could be Japanese to be honest I can't read either I'm assuming Chinese though was quite a few of these aren there enough of that anyway video player oh yes you can pop oh dear back no it's still going oh he me yes you can pop your own videos on and watch them at your leisure on a horrible little blurry screen let's have a look that what I'll do o looks like a trailer for something they love sticking this stuff on in the factories play Oh is playing is it I don't know oh [Applause] yeah this is familiar oh it's just a Star Wars one isn't it from the last one revenge of George Lucas's hideously swollen neck well the aspect ratio is miles out that's not the fault of video but no that's not good at all it's all blurry it's a bit jerky you wouldn't really want to watch anything on it but hey it's a lot better than the video where it records enough services will it come around and clean your windows nope you've got WAP and data account it won't actually connect to Wi-Fi obviously or look at proper internets and SMS messages so you can wrestle with the horrible little keypad in order to send your sister rude messages or whatever you like to do with your phone oh jump cut sorry about that I had to change the battery in the camer Corder anyway back to this horrible piece of dat now here's some observ ations on using it as a phone which was a very bad idea frankly first observation the signal strength meter seem to go up and down at random and I think it may actually go up and down at random because we've got signal strength now despite the fact there's no SIM card in it so it's not possible for it to be connected to anything at all in any way shape or form so where is it getting this from H something iffy going on there folks second thing and quite important one battery life there's a reason they give you two batteries the battery life is absolute absolute donkey I mean embarrassingly bad I left it on for 24 hours and the battery ran out I hadn't made any calls or really used it at all if you actually want to make a call you've got almost no battery time at all it's rubbish and pretty much excludes you from using this as a phone something else that excludes you from using this as a phone is that it drops calls all the time I mean really all the time you've got about 50% chance of getting through a call before it just goes and that's the end of that providing of course that the battery hasn't run out in the meantime yeah frustrating experience trying to use this as a phone I don't know what you could use it for I would probably recommend using it to prop up a table with a wonky leg cuz it's a bit shorter than the others see it's not completely useless so there you have it on the plus side the call Quality was good I must say that um but you couldn't actually use it as a phone it was hideously expensive apparently as I alluded to earlier and overall it's kind of the digital equivalent of me it tries to do lots and lots of things but it shited all of them people keep emailing me asking me where the god monster of Indian Flats has got to well I haven't put him in any videos for a while because I've run out of footage he was only in one movie and he wasn't in that one a whole lot mainly because he looked so bloody ridiculous I suppose so in order to bridge the gap so to speak I've started to grow my own God monster as you can see it's still in the lavel stage at the moment but I'm hoping any day soon it will mutate grow Hooves and have one leg a lot longer than the other don't we yes yes are you going to be a horrible mutant yes are you going to knock gasoline canisters over with your ass yes so there we go give it a few months and hopefully we'll have some more God monster footage for you
