sister I am super excited so I am visiting her at the moment she lives in the beautiful English countryside and we went for a walk and had a really lovely conversation and we were talking about our childhood memories so things that we used to do in the past that we don't do anymore and I thought what a great opportunity for you guys to listen to some really natural English conversation we don't change our accents we don't try and slow down for you guys this is really natural British English so listen to us put the subtitles on ok if you need a bit of help add the subtitles and yeah I just hope you enjoy it [Music] a seizure here is how are you welcome you might notice I'm with someone I'm with my sister LA this is my sister Anja and/or Annie as I like to call her so I've come out here to the countryside where she lives we're going for a walk and it's absolutely beautiful around here the green trees the leaves the grass beautiful British countryside so and we were talking about our childhood memories and I wanted to share that with you guys now one amazing thing that I remember about visiting grandma was that she'd make this amazing chocolate pudding and chocolate sauce or I mean that was the best dessert ever it was amazing and she never gave us the recipe no and she she denied that it was the best that ever and we only even that she used to make it but we used to think it was amazing yeah she'd make it fresh every time he went there yeah and yeah she never gave us the recipe which were very upset about ECG was really quickly check out the field here English countryside a line a telephone line as well yeah um so yeah grandma grandma used to cook some amazing food I think maybe that's one thing that you notice well you remember as a kid about visiting your grandma your grandfather's just a cooking mmm what else did she used to cook for us lemon chicken lemon chicken that was amazing and just traditional English food yes yeah ray and say lasagna lasagna traditional English to Gladys Anya um lamb chops Sancho oh yeah Oh vince'll she was a great cook yeah yeah incredible the great [Music] don't be in 19 another memory that I've got is when we were naughty when Annie and I were naughty yeah our mom used to give us television bang Oh huge yeah that was the worst and they just used to say well I don't care anyway and she go okay well that's another day that is it yes well I don't care about that either right well that's another show no no no rule I used to hate that oh my god so yeah so Tokyo Japan so you've done something naughty and then mum would say right no television for one day and as only said suddenly if you said I don't care then you have two days yeah and it would grow and it would just be awful yeah and the thing is nowadays television ban I mean my kids don't even really watch TV yeah you know it would have to be an iPad and I which would be what they would hate that they would hate when I program some kind of iceberg yeah but yeah TV they'd be like seriously whatever yeah okay that was awful that was the work and then you know there was at one time that you and dad was telling love you and he said Thomas come down the stairs and you got yourself dressed up fully and a night to get your wooden floor descended the stairs to take on dad and you made him laugh so much but he forgot what he was okay but I was really serious I was like yeah yuria yeah of course you are okay I maybe that's what made it so cute you read about Falls but we're going in here yeah so quiet here easy to miss not like in London when it's really noisy so quiet I love it one day we'll get you out here sure we're away from London come join us in the bed I could live in the countryside yeah very bad day for a day then I talked about to London yeah so do you remember Tom and every summer we suspend in Broadstairs I do I do yeah six weeks yeah pack our bags that starts with summer get on the train from Victoria and travel down took a two hours because a slow Church of train in those days chug chug train train English Darren yeah chug chug I guess it means like it's a very slow train right yeah chugged along the chugs along speed along not like now yeah and we derived by the CM broad stairs and honest cottage and spend the summer just living like little urchins in t-shirt and a pair of shoes yeah we have all our meals on the beach yep picnic lunches eggy rolls oh and then in the evening we have a barbecue and then fall into thread actually exhausted and wake up the next morning ready for some more fun yeah very simple simple life yeah every summer just the same thing every teen yeah we used to remember we used to go crabbing so there are rocks it by the beach and you go and try and catch crabs which is that's a shellfish yeah yeah fascination crustaceans yeah yeah and we try and we used to try and catch as many crabs as we could and and one year we got so many and and we gave them names barnacle bells barnacle bill Larry Larry Larry laughs very because he was angry yeah it's okay yeah it means angry so we used to catch these crabs and then release them and I remember we used to scream so loudly when when we released them because they try and like catches hey at you yeah and our mum could hear is screaming from the beach should be sitting in a deck chair on the beach and we'd be miles out on the rocks and she'd be able to hear us we've released the crap amazing [Music] so another fun at speech activity with the great wave gauge remember that one yes yeah we used to play this really super fun game and where we run a web so a big wave comes rolling in yeah and you have to run one spot to another on the beach but it's close to the tide liner yeah without it getting your feet wet yeah sorry and in subscribe came in it got harder and harder so it's on those who played up against the beach wall so we literally had nowhere else to go yeah and this this wage would come in and we'd run and if we got our toes wet then we lost yeah little wave one and the great way we also used to play the great ball in this guy again when our dad used to stand on this sort of raised platform and hit a ball up into the air and we had to catch it there's about Mia however many of us a couple of four or five people and if we caught it then we get the point and we miss it then he gets the point yeah and whoever got to ten first won the game and that was always really yeah I love the way that everything it used to be the great wave game the great ball is yeah yeah I think it ever just be kind of you know low-key no be the biggest the best the greater yeah yeah and I did make it extra special like oh yeah right to pick the great ball in the sky game like and I remember dad mentioned it in his wedding speech and I got married he stood up and did a speech and he mentioned the great ball in the sky game and all our friends he's come to Broadstairs with us came running up game your dad mentioned my father they loved it yeah it was very memorable yeah I think it's a game that I think we should continue to play I think yeah we'll just move it through the generations definitely yeah one ski so when we were kids and we had lots of my own I just remember birthday parties as children just endless turntable yeah filled with children miscellaneous children yeah yes not getting his guitar out so our dad used to play the acoustic guitar for all the children and he'd sing these songs just amazing like so much fun when you think about it and he put a party tape so we used to saying things like Nellie the elephant's packed a trunk and went off the sack you wanna sing that for us really quickly Nellie the elephant fact the drunken said goodbye to the circus of she won't MC just don't jump jump yeah and we we also used to have like little mini discos so he used to be a DJ didn't he like yeah I think it's cooler younger day when yet when he was calling young and and so he plays songs like I guaranteed to do fresh pineapple said veggie Agra do ya can decide what you said and so I just remember as a kid just dancing and singing an eating chocolate cake yeah that'll make your childhood you remember it well yeah a little bit older each agreement so I don't tell that right ah [Laughter] when the evening falls across the lake guys how was that I hope you enjoyed it now
