hello fellow simmers well I've had a few requests from viewers of my YouTube channel asking me if I would put together a video showing my cockpit in a little bit more detail so today I thought I'd do just that and um yeah I guess it's a little bit unusual in its um in the way I've built it it's actually built around an old Ikea desk and its actual design has two um uprights on either side of the desk allowing for the uh uh for the support of the actual the actual frame which is made of 18 mm MDF and I finished off the edges with some bullnosed trim so the whole Sim sits on large L nylon plates which are normally used for putting underneath sofas so they don't Mark carpets uh means I can actually pull the whole the whole rig away from the wall because I've only got a small room uh and it allows me to have access to behind the the cockpit so the whole Sim is built around the LG 48 in 4k monitor and um its biggest benefit being it's a matte screen it's not uh it's not glossy so you don't get any awful Reflections I found that a big benefit I think what's unique about the build is the way I've put the overhead and the keyboard on a movable plinth which moves up and down so I can actually lift it up there and it's supported it's actually supported at both ends but that takes it out of the way of the track IR camera at the top now I don't use track IR for uh flying the um the 737 um I'll just use camera views but when I'm flying GA I do like to have in uh track IR so if it's down like that which is okay usable for the 737 um it obscures the track IR camera hence there need for me to be able to move it out the way so I've got an iPad uh which allows me to put navigraph charts on there um I have a a a 737 manual which I've created with all my flowcharts and checklists and so forth um I have a another third monitor over here which um I have all my uh apps and addons on over on the left I have my prop wash uh autopilot and transponder above that I have an old modified Golight button panel below which of course is a stream de which I find absolutely fantastic it's a great great product along which I've got the CP flight eephus and mCP panel which are superb pieces of Kit I also have the uh cockpit Master CDU panel below which I've got my virtual fly throttle quadrant so I've got radio panels again prop wash simulation panels below which I've got uh homemade panel uh with a Leo bodot card for various switches including landing gear parking brake engine start leers for the 737 flaps that kind of thing the actual Yol is uh supplied by fulcrum Sim it's got just enough buttons on the uh on on the tops of the on the tops of the yolk below I fly with the MFG Crosswinds um pedals so just to the next of it I've got an old Cambridge Sound Works uh sound system which supplies two uh speakers either side to the front and two to the side and of course the uh the the base the base unit at the the subwoofer on the floor and attached to the base of the seat I've got a Recon 200i transducer which acts as a very very efficient uh body Shaker uh something I'm very pleased with so the favorite part of the whole setup is my uh VR Insight overhead panel which works an absolute tree I love it uh I've been using it not too long for probably about 4 weeks now and I found the level immersion uh go up an extra Notch it really is um it's truly Great Piece of [Music] Kit well I hope you found that interesting and if you've gleaned some ideas for yourself that's great uh why not share them with us um so yeah look after yourselves uh stay safe and happy [Music] flying
