we're in the golden heights and it is really really cold it's snowing this week israel saw an unusual winter storm that has almost completely covered the entire golden heights with a blanket of snow and even though this is not as big as the monster storms some of you are experiencing in other places of the world this much snow is very rare to see in israel it is so rare that many israelis from all parts of the country flocked here to the golan heights to see this magical white powder and when i say israelis that of course includes Rhoda and me, especially that we live in Nazareth which is only one hour drive from the Golan Heights, so we just could not miss the opportunity to see this wow look how beautiful wow that is so beautiful look at this wow how many people on the side are taking pictures
-look at this, it doesn't look like we are in Israel does it? it's like we're in a completely different country because it never snows, well, I shouldn't say never but rarely snow is in this area yeah, i've never seen it this full of snow when we were in Norway it didn't have that much snow on the sides of the road, of course we were there in October but still ah this is so beautiful look at this ah [Music] so even though a few roads were blocked by the police for safety most of the roads in the Golan Heights were still open and we were so surprised how fast they cleared them, I mean it only took a few hours, where'd they get the snow plow machines?and then the trucks they probably had them somewhere -right
-i've seen a few in Hermon remember on Hermon, they have a few snow plows but not that many to clear out the whole Golan Heights, so whoever had the idea to keep a few snow plows you know in the in the garage, here in Israel, great job that really helped this week very well yeah wow look how beautiful it is look at the colors of the sky there's red and there's blue oh my and it's so cool how you know you're driving up north you were driving for an hour and there was no snow, nowhere to be seen and you even get up to the Holan Heights you go the ascend and you get up in the Golan Heights there's still nothing but green grass and then suddenly you see snow and everything is white it's kind of weird because nowhere else in the world we've seen that before you go to cold countries, and just all covered in snow
-yeah -or there is just no snow but here it was like green grass and it was flat, it wasn't like mountains and snow covered, it was just flat green grass and suddenly the green grass becomes covered in snow and then it's just all white it's like you're driving on a plain and suddenly half of the plain is green and half of the plain is white, it was pretty surreal
-Yeah, pretty much like. you start seeing patches of snow and then the whole thing is covered, that's so cool it was very cool.
Yeah let's let's get out over here oh there you have it folks frozen winter land in israel it is so freezing my hands are shaking i think the camera is shaking from my hands everything is shaking we don't see this it's like strange to be very excited for snow but where most of the world has it
