A NOOB tries anime edit on Davinci Resolve

haven't make any AMV for over a year and never use DaVinci Reserve as well that's why I have decided to restart editing and on DaVinci Resolve I just like complicated things why DaVinci Resolve you may ask well that's for Pure reasons first of all Da Vinci is a beast a lot of creators that I follow on YouTube have been switching so this got me interested and it's quite a powerful software it's used in the cinema industry we can make so many things with it you can composite in 3D as well yeah definitely something that I look forward to and last but not least well it's all free and I'm all broke all this got me all pumped up and I was ready to use DaVinci I thought it wouldn't be that hard as they say you know it was like easy I've already edited before so we will be done alright no worries it took me 8 to 10 hours to finally finish my edits my mediocre edit anyways follow me on my journey to make my first Trash mid edit on DaVinci Resolve I decided to make an edit on denji and makima essentially on the scene where he touches her boobs yeah I know you remember that scene very well it's going to be a sort of cinematic edit I don't even know if that's even a style the reason is not to be overwhelmed with complicated effects this will help me become familiar with most of DaVinci's main features first thing was to make a little storyboard by using a narrative structure yeah I know I sound not smart but it's very simple and everyone knows what it is it's just having three different parts in the story there is first of all the introduction or the setup and that helps to know where the scene takes place discover the main characters Etc and after there's a confrontation it's the moment when the tension Rises and picks to its climax it's not obviously a fighting scene it can just be tension in prison finally there's the resolution it's kind of the end of the story so for my introduction I wanted a scene that starts with a vintage TV that switches on then the screen will lead to the second scene where we could see the city Landscapes from chainsaw man and then will lead to a scene where we see denji and makima and that will lead to the confrontation part and I wanted for the confrontation part really the tension Rising gradually just finding some little scenes like that here and there you might be wondering why there is a Netflix scene in the middle of a kind of cinematic edit well that's because in the lyrics they say too hard to handle and that's natural reality show on Netflix I found that kind of funny well it also helped me get used to the basics of fusion then I'll add some random scenes until the song says put my hands up on you baby and boom climax finally we step into the resolution part where the tension will be at the same level as the confrontation Parts however the pace will be slowing down and we will finish on the close kiss between denji and makima and I will probably add a scene to kind of seal the edit so this is the plan it helps me to know where I'm heading at so I don't lose too much time on DaVinci's timeline which honestly still ended happening yeah now let's start the actual edit yeah page it's probably the most used page on DaVinci I think I spent around three to four hours on it yeah you heard right I'm a Noob I want you guys everything was messed up but after two to three hours I finally had all the clips I wanted to use I also had to tweak the song as I was using different part of it and after roughly understanding I decided to switch to the best yet terrifying page the fusion page when you see it for the first time you're like what in Hell the reason why it terrifies so much it's because it uses the node system instead of typical layer system that we find in most editing software however a lot of 3D software is also use nodes which give me another reason to learn notes I had two main scenes that needed the fusion page the first scene with the Vintage TV because I needed to add in a screen as it's a green screen currently and track the screen to the Vintage TV that will be kind of zooming and I needed to make that whole Netflix Sim so there was no way around it I just needed to learn how to use Fusion I watch an amazing tutorial explaining notes with toasts and jam and that was actually effective I was struggling in making the first scene I didn't really know how tracking worked so I decided to watch another video on tracking definitely very useful and now I finally understood how it worked it helped me also understand much more how nodes functioned and as I did to have the hang of it the Netflix scene went much more smoothly I truly was understanding notes it helped me get used to the basic functions of fusion which is great I have to say nodes makes much more sense it's like talking to the computer the rest went quite nicely and my edit was almost done it's officially goodbye to a light motion and a new price tag and welcome to DaVinci Resolve as a noob I can say DaVinci is hard at first then things start to just click in your head you know I'm nowhere near being a pro honestly I still have a lot of questions concerning color correction notes for instance and also animating text as well and I'm sure I'll have a lot of other questions as well when I keep on learning new things and doing new edits by the way if you have any advice whether it is on DaVinci itself or concerning my workflow do not hesitate to share them and if you have any criticism concern in my edits even though I doubt there's anything to criticize well you can also share them oh yeah
