A Night of Prayer

is to trust him more the glories of assist me to proclaim to spread through all thy names he sets the prisoner his blood can make he speaks to his voice [Music] nations own your god you fall in race lord can be saved through faith alone be justified by grace see all your sins on jesus [Music] foreign the church [Music] his grace i hear the savior say thy strength indeed praise god amen you guys here hear me all right well thank you so much hey rob good to see you my brother thank you so much for coming out tonight as uh people still filtering we just want to just have a little time of prayer tonight and uh this morning we just spoke about just being a new season and all the things that uh are beginning you know bible studies and and uh sunday school classes and community bible school and so what we want to do tonight is just devote some extra time in prayer to the different ministry needs praying for our church family praying for the community praying for the body of christ at large praying for our nation so we'll just be tackling those in basically three different segments and we'll just give a brief word of exhortation myself and pastor tim but the main goal for tonight is praying and crying out to god for his intervention amen that he would help us and meet us at our point of need so let's open up in prayer and then we'll just have a couple of songs of worship before we move forward father we just thank you so much and praise you for another night thank you for this day god you've blessed you've helped us and we are excited about jesus we thank you for the building we thank you for the wing the addition and that being opened uh now that people can begin to enjoy that and uh we thank you father for all that you've done there and we pray god that as we move forward as a church body god that you'll be glorified we need your help as a leadership we need your help as a congregation our elders our staff we need your help to be able to minister and be light to the community around us so we just beseech you lord that you will do your work as we humble ourselves in your presence we love you and we thank you for this time in jesus name amen amen as we open up tonight i just want to open up with two songs and it's cornerstone and lord i need you so as we sing these songs as we seek god tonight in prayer we just want to remember that jesus is the cornerstone of our lives and without him as a church we can't do anything that's effective and lord i need you obviously we need god so let's stand and sing together [Music] then jesus blood and [Music] is [Music] without you i fall apart you're the one that guides my heart lord i need you oh i [Music] my [Music] where sin righteousness deep your grace is found is where you are [Music] is [Music] [Music] oh [Music] when temptation comes my way and when i cannot stand i'll fall on you [Music] jesus you're my hope instead [Music] lord [Music] oh god how [Music] oh [Music] [Music] oh god [Music] you may be seated and for our night of prayer scripture reading tonight it's found in ephesians chapter six we're going to talk about the armor of god finally be strong in the lord and in his mighty power put on the full armor of god so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes for our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers and against the authorities and against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms therefore put on the full armor of god so that when the day of evil comes you may be able to stand your ground and after you have done everything to stand i'm going to pray for our offering and we just as always want to thank you for your just for your faithful giving throughout the summer throughout the year and so we just want to extend our thanks as always but let's just pray now that god will move us in the way he would have for us to give let's pray lord we we thank you lord just for the great provider that you are lord and uh father we just thank you uh for carrying us through uh hard times lord and and uh it just seems like we always we always get by lord and we know that you use your people and we're thankful for that lord so as we come before you now with these gifts lord we just ask for your blessing lord and i ask that we we give to your ministry lord with cheerful hearts so that you can be glorified and that many can hear the good news of jesus christ and we pray this in jesus name amen uh i want to officially welcome you to our night of prayer uh we're glad that you came out tonight to pray with us and to kick off this new season together in prayer it's really the best way to start a new season right is just crying out to the lord together and i also want to just give you a few announcements there's a lot of things going on especially as we start the fall and so i want to highlight a few but i encourage you to look at the website i encourage you to grab a bulletin if you don't uh if you haven't gotten one this morning or when you came in they are in the back you can grab one and take it home and just look through it but just a couple things that are happening is uh hawthorne bible community bible school that starts a week from tomorrow so if you would like more information there are brochures in the back so when you exit you can grab one of those or you can call the main office or look online that starts again september 20th so a week from tomorrow membership classes are coming up those are in the morning on september 26 and october 3rd again call the church and you can schedule that if you uh if it's on your heart to become a member we encourage you to do so and then also adult bible classes have started in the morning moms and mentors kicks off soon women's bible studies kick off during the week this week coming up there's a lot of things going on so we just again encourage you to look so that you can see where god would have you uh to serve or to take part in some kind of fellowship all right but i'm gonna ask you now just to stand up as we do in the morning and just welcome one another whoever's around you amen oh praise the lord all that love hallelujah we can reach out and give a hug and fellowship amen praise the lord what we try to do i usually try to do it a couple of times a year usually you know as we kick off the fall season and then as we kick off the new year is this also just start out start those moments start those times with the time of prayer um and what we'll do is as we go through this we'll have some prayer requests on the screen so that way you can also participate if you desire that's why we have the mic here just so that you know we want to pray our leadership will pray as well but we just want to pray in unison that the lord would really have his way and do a great thing amongst us so thinking about this night thinking about prayer sunday night in prayer i wanted to look at a prayer in the book of ephesians chapter 3. just look at a few verses and then pastor tim he'll come up a little bit later after we go through our first segment of prayer but just to encourage us because paul not only imparted and spoke truth and discipled and encouraged and preached and taught the people whom he loved but he prayed intensely for them and that was his heart because he recognized that apart from god doing it you know there can be teaching and there can be a proclamation but only god can work in the heart of an individual so what i want to do is just look at we want to just look at this prayer we'll read through it and and then we want to pray these things and as as we said we'll have some specific requests on the screen so that we can just be praying in unison together ephesians 3 14 a prayer for the ephesians paul says for this reason i kneel before the father from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name i pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit and your inner being so that christ may dwell in your hearts through faith and i pray that you be rooted and established in love that you being rooted and established in love may have power together with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of god now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us to him be glory in the church and in christ jesus throughout all generations forever and ever amen so paul here is just praying and just uh just a thought here in terms of his heart and what he's praying for the ephesians he's praying that they would really grow in that fellowship and that intimacy with christ that they would know his love that they would understand him better that christ may dwell in their hearts that they will be rooted and grounded and established in that love and that's the beginnings of just understanding that okay this is what god wants to do because we're called to service but first before that service part which pastor tim will just allude to we're called to first and foremost an intimacy with christ we want to know him better amen and and getting to know him better we come together we spend seasons not just in his word but today together corporately in prayer and god wants to work in us in paul's prayer for them was that they might grow that they might understand god's love that they might go deeper into god's love that they might understand it that love that surpasses all knowledge and that they might be filled to the measure of all the fullness of god and so we want to be vessels that are filled with the love of god that god is working in us and he's changing us first so that as we reach out and as we love and as we minister to people and as we encourage people there is impact because of what christ is doing in us and so he prayed that there's a prayer also in the beginning of the book of ephesians so you have those prayers and then this application in terms of him talking about the unity that's in the body of christ in ephesians 6 it talks about the armor of god but just to encourage us as we move into this new season as we move into the fall let's press on to know the lord and let's draw close to him the psalmist says it is good for me to draw near to god so that's what we're doing we're drawing near to god corporately so that he might be able to work in and through our lives in a more powerful way and so that was paul's heart for the people he knelt before the father he prayed and cried out to god and we want to be a people that are crying out to god for the various needs in our church family and for the various needs within the entire body of christ and one of the first things as we put up the list is that we want to be praying for spiritual growth and development in other words that we would be a people as we draw near and as we continue to come close to god and as we continue to learn of him that we would be maturing in the things of god we don't want to be spiritual infants we want to be mature sons and daughters so the first segment that we're going to pray for as we have this here is we're going to pray for our church family and the entire body of christ pastor kirk is going to help us initially and then what we're going to do is we have a mic down here because we want this primarily to be a time of prayer so if you want to just join and if you want to come up to pray and help to pray during the particular segment feel free to do that but we're going to have pastor kirk he's going to lead and he's going to begin and then we can have a couple of people praying over specifically some of these items those who need healing and restoration praying for mental health of people praying for fruitful ministry in our congregation so the focus here is on our church family and the entire body of christ and so let's really just um tune our hearts together and pastor kirk is going to begin to lead us and then after he prays we want there to be a nice flow so if you want to pray over specifically some of these items begin to come up and a couple of other people can pray and let's just unite our hearts in prayer right now for the church before we pray just i want to update you guys on a couple things that involve our church staff and leadership just two things we can be praying for even as we go to prayer now is um steve mandero i know was mentioned in the first couple services this morning but steve mandelo's granddaughter suffered a pretty bad break on her arm she was young i think four or five years old and then which led to them also finding out she has covid so she's in the hospital uh currently they just had a second surgery on the arm today so you'll be praying for her and then just want to give you a heads up too on pastor john and laura minima so just so you know they are recovering from covid and pastor john actually also has pneumonia now so you can be praying for them as well so just as we lift up the prayer tonight just be praying for them let's pray father we thank you for the opportunity to come together tonight lord as a church family and there's just so many uh burdens and so many requests on so many people's hearts and uh not just the people here lord but within our whole church family god we just lift up everyone we think of uh just the last few months lord in the difficulties or the last year and a half with covert lord and the struggles there lord and we know there's many in our church family lord that have been affected by it uh there's we know there's some struggling currently right now lord we lift them up to you uh god we lift up to you pastor john and laura lord we pray for a quick recovery for them lord we do thank you uh that they are recovering from covet well lord and we do pray that you would take pastor john through the uh this pneumonia lord and that he would be healed quickly uh god we do lift up to you uh steve manderow's granddaughter lord we pray for uh just successful surgery lord and the healing of her arm lord as well as healing of the covet and god we just lift up to the uh the whole family to the you right now lord we know that they're just going through a difficult time lord we just pray that you would be present with them bring them the peace that only you can bring and god we do lift up to you others that are sick in our church family lord with um terminal illness lord with uh just everyday uh struggles that they're going through lord we lift them up to you lord god we also think of the the ministries here at the church lord we thank you for so much that's been uh kicking off here in the fall we know that there's many new people coming out to the church lord and have been over the last few months and god we pray for the new people that are coming out we pray that they would get connected to the church that they would find a welcoming and loving family at hawthorne gospel that they would get plugged in lord and want to grow in their relationship with you lord through the ministries here god we think of the the leaders and the teachers and just the people that will be running different bible studies and running different classes and running the youth ministries and running sunday school lord we pray that you would give them the strength that they need lord and the time to prepare lord that they might be effective teachers and witnesses for you and uh god we do think of all the things that are starting lord monday evening bible school adult bible school uh bible studies lord just you new youth ministry things kicking off different programs kicking off we pray that you would bring people out to them or that they would hear the gospel that their lives would be changed god we pray for just no more difficulties with covet lord we pray for no more shutdowns no more struggles through those lord we just pray for your continued healing upon those things god we do lift up the financial situation in the church we thank you for your provision and your faithful provision for 96 years lord and for having your hand of safety and protection and blessing on this campus lord and we ask for uh just continued giving lord we pray that you had just laid on the people's hearts to give to the ministry here so that we might be able to do things that would glorify you and things that would bring your name out to the world around us into the community lord we thank you for the opportunities that we've have that you've opened so many different doors and so many different areas for us to do ministry and lord it's not nothing that we did it's only because of of your grace and your mercy that allows us to to have those open doors so we pray that you continue to give us success in those areas lord continue to open doors for us to continue to give us opportunities lord within the community and around the world lord we do pray for our people lord their mental health as well lord as over the last year and a half a lot of uh our people have suffered with um depression and anxiety and just difficulties mentally lord that have really challenged them and god we just pray that they would find their strength and their hope and their peace in you god that you would give them relief from that depression that anxiety that worry the doubt and lord that they would cling to you during difficult times god we lift up to to you our elders and our church staff lord we just thank you for the men that lead us lord as elders and we pray for their families and pray for them lord that you would continue to give them wisdom that you would give them strength that you would give them health lord in the days ahead we thank you for their leadership lord and the men that they are the men that seek you on a daily basis god we pray for their families that they would continue to support them as well god we think of our staff we thank you for bringing so many uh wonderful church staff people here lord the pastoral staff the support staff the maintenance staff or the school staff and so many others lord that you bring here lord in your perfect timing and your perfect plan and god we pray that you would put a hedge of protection around our leaders god that you would continue to keep us focused on you that you would continue to keep us rooted in your word uh that we would be studying your word on a regular basis lord and and just spending time with you lord and uh god we commit our staff to you we thank you for that lord and we just pray that you would continue to bless our church community lord uh we we pray that you would keep the church uh here in hawthorne gospel safe from satan's attacks lord that we would be able to withstand any temptation or any threats from the enemy god and not just for our church we pray for the other local churches around here uh our brothers and sisters in the local churches around here lord but around the world we pray for uh the church of christ around the world lord that you continue uh to keep us strong keep us united lord and keep us pursuing you god and we pray this in your name amen would you pray with me lord we just thank you for a wonderful opportunity where you can come into your presence lord and to be able to come freely without guilt or shame we know that sometimes lord our sins are heavy are before us but god your your love and your mercy is greater and so you allow us to come into your presence into the holy place where we know that you dwell and we know that you hear us because you're a faithful loving father and so god we want to just lift up to you the burdens of our people and our congregation and some who are not even here today but some who are going through very difficult trials and circumstances and difficulties and you see it all lord because you are a sovereign god you know the beginning you know the end and we asked god that you would just help those who are going through those situations that you would encourage their hearts that you would lift them up above the circumstance and god that you would help them in their struggles father give them all that they need to be fully equipped to have victory in their lives over the difficulties that they may be facing particularly those that are dealing with sickness we pray for those fathers wherever it might be whether it be those of young those of newborn those of teenagers or elderly those are suffering with immediate diseases or sickness we think of those who are susceptible to viruses like covent that you would be over it all that your hand of protection would be upon these people and these young younger children that god that you would just work a mighty work to give healing where healing is needed and strength father and i pray for those who are around their immediate family through these sicknesses father there is a lot of pain and a lot of uh heartache particularly those who are dealing with terminal cancers terminal illness and those who have suffered loss father be with those families and help them father give great strength where it's needed and help them not just to survive but to thrive and i want that you would just work on mighty work and that you would glorify yourself through it all we can't see the immediate results some are long-term but we know that god you'll work a mighty work and you'll bring glory and honor to it and we thank you in christ's name amen pray with me our heavenly father we come here tonight to first of all to thank you for all the blessing all the your presence in our life how you brought us so far laura we thank you for your support your financial supply for our needs laura for the 96 plus years in this uh place lower than this top of this hill or shining laura and lore without interruption and you have met all the needs you've been faithful to us so we thank you for your faithfulness to us lord thank you laura thank you for uh the finishing of the extension of this building laura may we laura use it for your glory lord that with my lord just see and what you've done lord among us we thank you lord for providing the your people who are to take their post where you call them to lure for those who teach the bible the word your word lord i thank you for them lord each one of them you know each one by name laura i thank you for their faithfulness i thank you lord for the pastoral staff laura or pastor john minima the senior pastor lord that you be with him even now laura to recover from the pneumonia lord that he's going through and that you lord refresh him that you will encourage him lord that you will supply his needs lord i thank you for his family lord that they paul ministered to us lord here lord so i thank you lord for pastor john minima and i for all the other pastor lord there are many lord i don't want to skip anyone but you do know each one of them lord and i praise you for each one for their faithfulness for their love for you for the dedication lord i thank you lord for those who worked behind doors lord that we don't even know what they're doing but lord they really are keeping this place going keeping everyone connected they are serving you lord in different ways lord uh lord for the secretary laura those who are in the office laura making the phone call making all the contact uh keeping all everything the communication going lord and assisting all of us lord not just the pastor staff but all of us thank you for for all each one of them laura and i thank you for the maintenance staff floor that keep this place clean and shining lower keep them safe floor provide for all the resources needed lower and lower when people look as they travel through the highway lord they will see something special and that they desire to come and to find out what's special about this place lord and the special is your presence lord so lord this is your camp lord and lord we are just labored and laura help us to be faithful and to be a trustworthy in what you call us to lord lord we love you we thank you lord i pray lord for for the family nuclear that is part of this congregation lord lord there is a lot of challenges lord but you can help us to meet all the challenges lord because you are a faithful god no one can stand before you lord and lord you are awesome lord will you delight in you lord in your presence there is joy there is hope there is uh um abundance of joy lord so lord with confidence we stand before here tonight and we cried out to you lord and we bless your name lord we exalt your holy name lord for who you are lord thank you lord for those who works in the sound system and that keep all the things going here whenever we are meeting here lord thank you for each one of them bless each one of them lord guide them protect them lord and lord there is many other areas lord that i don't even probably think about and laura we thank you for the coffee and bagels time between services that started today laura that will be a blessing that will come here we can have fellowship as we laura um partake of the bagels and the coffee and the things that lord that kind of bring us together lord so lord we just thank you for that detail lord and uh is is needed and we desire and we thank you for this lord it's a tradition in our congregation for many many years lord so lord we miss that i missed that for many for the last year laura and i'm so overwhelmed and and glad that he's back lord and i thank you for lee and his family and his wife uh james lead uh break their eyes today laura and lord thank you lord and for those who are volunteering from now on laura and that you be with each one lord and that everything will be covered lord so there will be no needs in this place and everybody will be um be feel like a home and be taking part lord in all the uh things that take place in here because we are the one who uh enjoy it but we also the one who had to make it happen so may we lord step to the plate when our uh time comes lord so i thank you lord for my brothers and my sisters here the laura are very diligent i'm very faithful to you laura in every area lord thank you thank you for the elders and the the decision making as when they meet laura that you guide them lord that you work in their life that you're working in their family that you protect their witness in the world and their place of work in their home lord that they will be men that they love you mayoral characters laura that they will lord just lift your name high lord and uh they will be like mentor to the young people here they will sometime by by acting and sometime by just by modeling as we live our life lord so lord i bless you i thank you for all that we have in you in jesus name amen dear lord we thank you for all that you've been doing the last year and a half with kovid because i know that there is good that's coming from it in spite of all the difficulties i thank you that you use trials to purify this church and the church united lord as i think about the fact that your word says to be holy as you are holy i recognize that our church falls short not just our church but the church universal lord and so i pray these words from colossians 3 over us lord i pray that we at hawthorne and the church united would set our hearts on things above where christ is seated at the right hand of god and that we would set our minds on things above and not on earthly things father i pray that we would put to death therefore whatever belongs to our earthly nature because these things are still in the church lord sexual immorality impurity and lust evil desires and greed which is idolatry lord we know the wrath is coming because of it and i pray that we would indeed no longer live this way because it was the way we used to live help us to rid ourselves of things like anger and rage malice and slander and filthy language help us not to lie to each other and that we would indeed take off our old self with those old practices and put on the new self that you have given us lord which is being renewed father i pray that we would not have divisions there is no longer greek or jews circumcised or uncircumcised barbarian scythian slave are free but i thank you that you are all and in all lord i pray that you would help us as your chosen people to remember we are holy and dearly loved and that as a result we clothe ourselves with compassion kindness humility gentleness and patience these are hard things lord so please help us to do those things may we bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another and forgive us lord for not manifesting some of those things help us to remember to forgive just like you forgave us and to put on love which will bind all of it together in perfect unity lord may the people of hawthorne here in this fellowship allow the peace of christ to rule in our hearts i know i struggle with fear and worry and i pray that others in this congregation would not we would allow that peace to rule and lord may we be thankful and may we allow the word of christ to dwell richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom singing psalms helms and spiritual songs and lord in all things whatever we do whether in word or deed i pray especially as we're looking at a new thing this fall may we do it all in the name of you the lord jesus giving thanks to god the father through him open back up to a ephesians 3 please and as you're turning there i got a uh text message about two minutes ago that came uh uh from uh an update on that little girl who had surgery that the surgery was a success they call for a full recovery and that she's just recovering now just may be timely but that came from her uncle so uh yeah that's good so we want to praise god too while we're here right um so that's great so as kirk was praying the message came in shortly after so praise god for that uh so as we look at this this prayer i'm only gonna read a little part of it um because i want to be quick so we can spend more time praying but in verse 17 it says as as paul is praying he says so that christ may dwell in your hearts through faith and i pray that you being rooted and established in love may have power together with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and how high and deep is the love of christ and to know that this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of god and as we so as we look at this prayer the overarching message is that the ephesians would grasp christ's love fully but paul knows that as men and women as fallen men and women we will never truly understand that right we're we we can't grasp it we can't fully grasp it but what we can do is we can try to and one of the ways is through a scripture right so we know that the the more we understand the magnitude of his love by looking in the scriptures and understanding who jesus is that we would then allow him to drive our life we'd rather we would allow him to really be every part of our life because when we see god's love how can we not how can we not want to share it and and allow it to dictate how we live and so think about this in there's a scripture and i'm going to talk about service so the scripture is perfect for it but in mark chapter 10 verse 45 it says even the son of man did not come to be served but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many does that not depict an amazing and perfect love right that the son of man god fully god jesus came not to be served though he had the right to be served as our king but to serve others and in one way he served with you he gave his life as a ransom to many you know so the the ephesians they were hard workers and i'm not going to turn there right now but if you look later maybe just if you remember this uh this particular part of scripture revelation chapter 2 and in verse 4 it talks about john's john saying that in his writings he's saying that you know the fear is that the ephesians are forgetting their first love it's not that they're not hard workers but what what's maybe happening is the work may be becoming a habit right it just may be becoming a habit instead of working serving out of a fervent love for christ and so for us i i don't want to stand up here and say hey everyone needs to get out and serve in some way what i would rather encourage all of us to do is to really start to try to grasp as much as we can his love because then when we do that it then makes us want to serve right it makes us want to serve others and there's so many ways to serve others there's so many so many things that we can do and it doesn't always mean going to certain places it could just be with the people around us and as heidi was actually praying she really made me think of something when she said that through covid there are good things that are coming out of it right and and of course our heart breaks for those who are struggling and suffering with it but if we think about everything that's going on around us as believers in christ we can look for opportunities in them when we see a flooding decimate an area right our heart breaks as people are struggling losing stuff but we can see an opportunity to serve others maybe it's not going in and fixing things or replacing things but it could be just as simply as listening to somebody as they as they mourn a loss of whatever whether it be a family member a friend or maybe even just their their things right we can listen to them that's how we can serve others but again we're going to be able to do that as we grow in our knowledge of the love of christ and that's what paul is telling to the ephesians he's telling them to to try to comprehend it i know you'll never be able to get there but try continue to pursue that knowledge and so that's our our charge to us tonight is is like the ephesians let's take that for ourselves and say okay how can i i need to understand his love more because how many times do we walk around and say tell people hey jesus loves you but when we're saying that what does that really mean do we know what we're really saying right because it's it's very deep and we we so we want to be able to share with just as many things as possible about what that means that jesus loves you right so we're going to pray now and our elder james lee is going to come up and he's going to lead us and open up in prayer as we pray through some of these things here and so we just want to look there's so many our church for the last almost hundred years has been a church about community about serving others uh whether it be throughout the nations and even locally and so here's some local things we're doing where we are we are out there serving in the prisons when we're allowed to go in we're working with those who are homeless and addicted in the streets of patterson right in our backyard we have pregnancy center lighthouse pregnancy center that we support working with and giving a better option than abortion and helping people through that um there's so there's so many different ways we want to pray for our health care workers we want to pray and we want to pray against division we want to pray against division right we're not going gonna you know let's pray against that we don't have to worry about what other people are necessarily doing let's pray against division and be you uh united as paul was saying here and then just for the schools because these schools as great as they are they are also outreaches right they are they are there to spread the gospel to our children who then hopefully will carry that to universities and so on so uh james lee is going to lead us in prayer and if anybody wants to follow him we ask that a couple of people would uh would do so if it's on your heart let us pray oh lord heavenly father we come before you o lord and with grateful hearts for this opportunity that we can again come together as a fellowship to seek your will and to pray heavenly father i want to pray for our communities i especially pray for those who are most vulnerable and in most desperate need lord as you again left your heavenly realm to come to meet us in our most desperate hour we pray for those o lord who are seeking you that lord that those in our prisons those who are struggling with addictions those who are sick and shut in lord we think of our aids patients oh lord in our new beginnings ministries those in our inner cities oh lord through our desire for hope for those o lord the vulnerable women oh lord uh at the lighthouse pregnancy lord we just lift them up to you and ask that your grace mercy and love would just penetrate their hearts that they would know you and come to seek your will that the effective spread of the gospel o lord would reach each and every heart and all would come to the knowledge and the saving grace of your love lord we also pray for all the students that lord again here on the hca campus at bergen county christian academies and all of the public schools oh lord in this nation the universities around the world we pray for the administrators the teachers the professors and the students oh lord we know that they are being actively attacked that the enemy is at the gate but lord we just pray that they would stand strong and firm to seek your will to know that you are god that you are stronger oh lord and that they would find their strength in you lord we pray again for those who have been impacted by this pandemic oh lord that lord that we know that people have suffered physically spiritually mentally people have felt isolation and lord economically that lord that you would again just put your healing hand upon us and that we would find our strength and our way in you and lord i just want to pray for our nation that lord again we are a nation that was founded under your principles and we just want to pray oh lord that as our leaders as our elected officials as those who have been put into authority o lord that they would again not only know you but have the courage and the strength to lead us oh lord our founding fathers oh lord founded this nation on the judeo-christian biblical principles oh lord and we have sinned we have turned away from you and lord we know that as we again seek your face that you will heal this land and that we would again find our way again in you that heavenly father you would again be with us at this time that all honor and glory would always be yours and we thank you and we praise you in the name of our lord and savior jesus christ father we come before you this evening giving you thanks for the privilege that we come that we have to come before you and for the actions that we have gained through the blood of christ to the holy of holies lord we are certain that you hear us you pay attention to what we ask and we know for certain lord that we are asking for what is your will so we do expectantly wait your response we pray as a church for the healthy spiritual health of the church and lord i i pray that everyone present here and all the ones that come every to every service every sunday will be aware that the individual is not detached from the whole so if we pray for the holiness of the church we pray for the holiness of the individual we pray lord that as we go and we step outside of these doors that we we will be the light and the salt of the world that people will see that christ resides among us and in us that whatever we find ourselves tomorrow morning and throughout the week in the places of work of study of teaching schools or whatever areas of places you bring us lord that we will be a testimony for the for the world to see that christ is the one who came and died and saved us and gave us a relationship with the father so lord we pray for the community especially the surrounding communities of hawthorne gospel that they will see the witness of christ in this place and that we will be effective in all the the outreach that exists already the lighthouse for the pregnancy uh ladies lord we pray for those for the prison ministries also and for the schools not only for hawthorne gospel uh here at the academy here but also in hackensack we pray lord for the administrators and the teachers and all the ones that work in every area to keep the school running we pray lord that you will bless them and that they will be a great testimony for parents that come that probably don't know you and i lord lord i pray that the kids will understand and see god and that they will go home and be the light for those that don't know you so i pray lord that beyond the academics the academies will be a center of training kids to spread the gospel and to know you and uh also we pray for the other schools lord for the surrounding areas and to the school system across the land uh lord the day the pray the prayer will come back to the schools and for safety for children i pray lord for all those that know you teachers that are surrounded by people that don't owe you and probably they're attacked for their faith i pray that you will give them the strength and a sense of your presence with them and they will give you will give them strength to do the work that they have to do so we pray for our school systems lord across the nation especially also in this area the northern part of new jersey we pray lord that you will bless the teachers and the principles and the administrators the school boards that run the the schools we pray for them and lord we pray for all the other other places that help people with addictions we pray that you will bless them and guide them and use them that there will be a light or the ones that have trouble have been falling trapped of their problems and their addictions lord god knows why they fall into those situations but we pray that you will bring them out we also give you thanks and pray for all the first responders responders in this pandemic lord that is is really dragging for such a long time lord we thought it was going to be a couple of weeks a couple of days a couple of months then but it's going into a couple of years it has been dragging and it's been draining and lord as things come back together again we give you things for all those that have been the first-line responders and the pressures that they have going have they have they gone through i pray lord that you will keep them safe and they will keep them strong and thank you thank you for the love that they have displayed through all this difficult time and still going lower and is still in our area we pray for the ones that are infected with covet as it is right now lord we pray for wali and his wife and other people lord that have fallen into this uh uh terrible thing lord we uh we give you things that people and the uh the medical system lord and the medical groups know how to treat with it deal with it a little bit better thank you so much for that we also pray for our government lord across the nation we pray for a central government in washington we pray for their protection and and their leadership lord we pray that they will legislate and and design laws that will uh help advance the gospel and protect the people of god and lord even though many of them don't even don't even know that they're there because you establish that and that you put them in those places lord they don't understand it we ask you to bless them and we ask for those that know you in in government lord that they will be a witness to the rest and that they will come to the knowledge of the savior we ask for the state governments across the land from california to mainlaw we pray for all those governments that run the states and for all the different municipalities and in our nation lord and especially in this northern area where we reside we pray for their protection and guidance and thank you so much lord we pray that the gospel will go forward and that they will you you will use different churches different communities and the different people and different churches to spread the gospel that people will come to know you as personal lord and savior i also pray lord for those that go across the land and outside of the borders of the united states and preach the gospel to different peoples in different parts of the world we pray lord that you will bless them and guide them and use them and just make them effective in what they do and lord thank you give them a sense of your presence and give them strength as they preach the gospel give them the wisdom to uh preach in the way that people will understand and lord we are so healthy so much need around lori that the work is so so great it's overwhelming when you think about it but lord send laborers to the field to do the work and help us to be faithful in whatever task you've given us and whatever role we have in this central community here in this church i pray for the faithfulness of your people and all the ones that labor to make the ministry possible thank you lord for so many volunteers that do the work weekend and and week out and their faithfulness lord thank you so much for them and lord help us to be faithful in every area at home at work at school whatever we find ourselves that we will find ways of spreading the gospel and reaching the community for your honor and glory we pray and ask these things in the name of christ amen amen thank you my brother thank you so much and we're going to pray this last segment we're going to lift up and pray for some other needs for um missionary families we want to continue to lift them up we thank god for his financial provision obviously for the building you want to continue to pray for first baptist church in hackensack that work there campus pass to pastor howie is here and god is doing a good work over there and just revitalizing that church so we're grateful for that opportunity so i'm going to ask some uh brother michael jefferson yeah elder michael jefferson just to begin to lead us along those lines and you know for the persecuted church as well so you see it up there let's just touch on some of these as we bring it to a close please join me in prayer dear god we come before you dear lord just grateful for your love for us dear lord we lift before you delore the missionaries from hawthorne gospel and first baptist lord we just ask you to each and every day to strengthen them spiritually physically emotionally provide for their financial needs dear lord and just bless them with wisdom and discernment and patience to the lord we ask for especially for those missionaries that are in areas that are dark to to you and your word the lord that you just give them encouragement help them find ways to reach out to those who are lost to the lord for those who are unable to gather because of covet or other restrictions to lord they just give them creativity give them a way to connect uh to people that they're seeking to serve and and to lead to use the lord we just lift them up each and every day lord we pray for the those who believe in you who love you but are persecuted throughout this world their lord for that love for you that you would just lift them up that their persecutors would know you not only as an almighty and all-powerful god dear lord but they know you as a loving and forgiving god that's the one thing that that no one else has ever shown them do lord that that they might see the light of your word and the love in your heart and change their ways we lift up the congregations for here at hawthorne gospel and at first baptist you lord that that we would seek to serve you the lord but more importantly that we would surrender our hearts our minds and our bodies fully to you and your word your lord that as others have said that they people would see your light and your word through us our actions our words our deeds and our love for them and we just pray for both campuses dear lord that that when people come to visit that they would be encouraged the lord to strengthen their bond with you and we especially pray for the first baptist campus your lord just continue to do a good work in them lift up our pastoral staff as they seek to encourage each and every believer each and every attendee you know to seek to serve you dear lord but more importantly to establish a strong relationship with you dear lord that that's where it all starts with your our love for you in our hearts the lord we lift up all those who are struggling with the fires out west all those who are impacted in the south and northeast throughout through to the lord who've lost possessions and in many cases may have lost loved ones to lord that you would just lift them up we think of the thousands of people down in new orleans who are still without power don't have the basic essentials that you would just lift them up and encourage them we thank our thankful dear lord for all the volunteers who are assisting and more importantly or just as importantly dear lord the first responders the lord who are there when no one else is who are risking their lives and many cases to the lord to make sure that others are safe we just lift them up we think about the situation in haiti the lord this nation continues a struggle but their faith is strong the lord we just pray that you just lift them up that they would not lose hope their lord that they would trust you and they would see your love dear lord your care your compassion through all those volunteers and nations that are seeking to assist them in this time and we lift up the people of afghanistan our lord the little boys and girls the ladies dear lord we lift them up to you as this dark time approaches dear lord that the light of your word might find a way into their hearts the lord that the darkness of the taliban would be removed through the light of your word that these people would see an opportunity to trust in you de lord and to seek a way that's the right way the lord and that's through you and your love for them and lord we just lift up this time we give thanks to you that we're able to gather freely and praise you do lord and give thanks to you and your precious name we pray amen okay amen uh why don't we stand as we close in one last song [Music] it's an amazing grace amazing grace how sweet the
