so you want to know what it's like to be a Harvard student alright hold on cuz we're gonna move fast [Music] I wake up at 4:30 a.m. don't overthink it it just works for me I fit in some personal study center myself with a Tai Chi practice and catch up on my homework I've got a mountain of reading to do today I added some videos and then I collect my thoughts on my whiteboard wall and plan for the day good morning everybody great start to the day let's keep going I pack a lunch and step outside with my skateboard I live in South Boston or Southie as the locals call it which means I commute through the city of Boston to get to Cambridge it is without a doubt the best part of my day if you can avoid the giant potholes I right through back Bay past the Berklee College of Music try not to hit pedestrians and across the Harvard bridge I always take a second to say hi to Boston the greatest city in the world a ride past MIT salute the Cambridge City Hall and finally there's canvas [Music] first day of class that I'm already late [Music] it is the first day of class so we're doing some team-building exercises we're not doing so well this is how you make a marshmallow spaghetti tower right great classes so far I'm really enjoying them I want to introduce you to another one of my really good friends what's up John this is the statue of John Harvard and I come here from time to time to chat with him because he's a really good listener all right you stay warm then we'll see you soon now I'm gonna hunker down in the library for a couple hours to get some work done just trying to decide which library if we're going to the business school or oh yeah though I don't know this library is super famous because Harry Widener it was dedicated in his honor he was on the Titanic when it sank and he was a rare book collector so the first time I came into this library and walked up these steps I was literally freaking out because I always imagined what it would be like to come in to the Widener Library as an actual student if you've ever wondered what it's like inside the Harvard library it's exactly like you would imagine I mean check this out right this is Harry Widener's library and this right here is the crown jewel it is an original Gutenberg Bible anyways I got to go study so we'll pick this up afterwards are ahead I love the energy of this library I like to imagine the great minds that sat here before me and their historic accomplishments it keeps me motivated focused on my future it's time for a break so I head over to the Smith Campus Center for a snack and prep for my next classes it was recently renovated and is always packed with students working on group projects or relaxing with friends I just really like vibing here for a sec next I head across the bridge to the Business School for more classes and then to Spengler for lunch it is always a packed house at this time of day I can not believe how many people are in here the hardest part is trying to find a seat I tried to squeeze in some calls and get ahead of the day but it just feels like there's so much to do I'm almost out after classes are done I usually try to swim a few laps in the Blodgett pool it was closed today for a swim meet so I headed over to the MIR center to lift [Music] it's interesting right as a college student you really got to fight for time to exercise I mean if I don't make it a priority then that time gets burned up doing other projects all right I'm showered I'm changed and now I'm off to one of my favorite places in the world the Harvard innovation labs the island is a place where Harvard students can come to follow their entrepreneurial pursuits a space full of individuals with incredible passion and an unrelenting drive to change the world this is my third semester in the accelerator program I'm building a platform that tracks employee sentiment in real-time I'm so much more productive in this space sitting alongside insanely motivated students they push me to be better if only I could stop eating those dang free mints right one of the best resources here that I use all the time is the media studio you seem to be really good at these just jumping around this is just kind of a fun fun thing to do one of the things that one of the things that I live for is coming to the AI lab and meeting amazing people like you who are just knocking it out of the park ladies and gentlemen we are here at the Harvard innovation labs so very excited to have William Fucci a in the studio William how are you today I'm great Josh thank you for having me we love to watch you on your journey just making huge waves again spotlighted in Forbes 30 under 30 you know securing the funding that you need growing your team to 25 and beyond it's just absolutely fascinating to watch so we're gonna keep tracking on you and your journey but thanks again for joining us on the show and we'll look forward to our next conversation Thank You Josh all right that's not cool at all and what's your official title here program manager maybe justjust for the camera before we start officially rolling maybe just what's camera that one that one that I'm gonna be having a conversation yeah let's just jump right in work sir very excited to have Laura Zimmerman on the set with us today Laura you've been at the AI lab for over four years now so you're yeah a ton of teams come in and out okay the thing that I love about the AI lab is it's not just a building it's a community we're forming lifelong friendships that will last forever I love the island it's so much fun it's a cool spot because you have people who are current students and then also alumni and people are there with literally just ideas or even pre ideas and then you have people who are running fully funded you know revenue profitable companies you know having a community having people to talk to people bounce ideas off of I'm just always you know looking around and seeing people working on cutting edge technology and products and I just want to ask as many people what their story is so what do you think one how many people are coming and dining tonight is actually a big deal its orientation night for all startups that got accepted into the program this semester we're here to help the Harvard community that's what the hi lab is all about is creating connection we wanted to give them an experience that would make them want to come out I'm also on staff at the iLab so I get to help with orientation myself I can tell you that the resources that you will access one of the best parts about the iLab is you have to meet new people this is Neos who's eatin some tasty pizza he's got a blog himself you should check it out Neos UK on YouTube Neos on Instagram tik-tok what kind of videos do you do I make like roof topping videos no this right here is the best dressed man in all of Harvard campus and that's a high compliment but really is a form of narcissism because all of the clothes I'm wearing I took from his closet what's the best part of being here at the Harvard Innovation Lab oh man that's the community I think that you know when you when you have a paradigm where success looks like simply being a part of this community and having access to it you've already won and so we're here perspective of what happens with the venture just the opportunity to be a part of this community I think what makes success and so man up in the part of this community I think this is my third time being in the island and each year it's been more and more value he's crushing it dough's on go check it out it was obviously it's a lot of fun there's an energy and a zest for life that you just can't find anywhere else these are my classmates these are my business partners and above all they're my friends all right so that is a day in the life of a Harvard student it is absolutely a privilege to be here and obviously a lot of fun so much stuff going on every single day I'm working very hard every single day I'm super tired but at the end of the day it is absolutely worth it just the people I'm meeting and the things that I'm learning and the connections that I'm making here is just completely invaluable you know after days like today I like to take the long way home along the Charles River to decompress and think did I accomplish anything today did I get closer to my goals did I help anyone am i focusing on the right things honestly who knows but if I could do this every day for the rest of my life I'd die a happy man you think we're done but to be honest the best part of my day is just getting started I get to hang out with my family what are you doing thanks again for watching everybody don't forget to subscribe check out these other videos for some great content and we'll see you on another episode [Music]
