A CRAZY NEW MODDED ADVENTURE BEGINS! - Modded ARK Dino Overhaul X [Episode 1]

we are naked here on the beach and you know what that means it means a brand new series is starting so while we morph into syntax let me tell you about that guys we're starting up the dino overhaul x series here today docs for short this is technically a season two let's talk about that in just a minute but first let me talk about this mod because this mod is super og like it's not the granddaddy of overhaul mods that would probably be anunnaki genesis but this one's probably like the estranged uncle but not in a bad way not in like a i'll bring you to my cabin kind of way in like a cool way where you know he's the type of uncle that will bring you lots of really nice gifts and uh always have something interesting to talk about yeah uh this mod is super og we we did a season of this in 2016. can you believe it can you actually believe that like i can't i mean jesus i it's somehow 20 21 right now 2016 we started on the 24th of september and it ran until january 9th of the following year which is just really really crazy i it feels like i'm picking up stones but apparently i'm picking up sticks okay yeah it's stones and sticks apparently okay cool so yeah uh we're playing here on the volcano map and there will be a mod list down below if you want to check that out and we're also going to have an identical oh at least probably almost identical server to this one starting up on my patreon if you want to check that out but uh if you want to just take my mod list and make your own server check out g portal there's a link to that down below as well guys it is the very first episode of this brand new series and i'm very very excited for it so if you guys are too go ahead do me a favor hit the like button and uh i'm gonna probably actually also mention this because i i'm gonna need some tips i haven't played this in four years and now i have looked a little bit of the mod page i tend to not look at a huge amount because i don't want like just tons and tons of information thrown at me but um i remember everything's super aggressive and everything is super mean and let's not go that way let's go up the hill here uh so oh god already running into freaking terror birds i don't even know what that is it's probably like an apex terp i don't even know we're gonna have to wait and see when it kills me inevitably um so yeah i'm gonna need some tips so if you have any let me know down below anyway so this mod is like just it brings back so many really cool memories because this series that we had uh it came out pretty much like right before i i i say blew up which is technically what happened this came between when i sort of decided to try and give youtube a proper go and see if i could make something of it and before i kind of had my big hit which was around christmas of that year so kind of came between that and it was really cool honestly it was a magical time it seriously was why am i still doing that i can make a pickaxe what the hell my knuckles they must be bleeding i can't really see though i kind of wish that that was a thing though that would be amazing all right on to the actual uh point of what i was about to say so this mod is really really cool and it brings back so many great memories and i'm really hoping that i can kind of re-experience quite a lot of that because obviously you know it has changed quite a lot over the years but i imagine some bits are slightly similar at least so i'm i'm really hoping to experience quite a lot of that and uh i don't know we're gonna have to wait and see um let's see oh can we put that on oh we can't that sucks yeah that this doesn't work on this just yet but hopefully eventually we'll see anyway um okay i don't know should we we definitely can't kill that okay i probably can't kill this thing either um so yeah all the server stats and everything will be down below too with the mod list oh god there's bugs everywhere i don't want to go near any of them uh what is that over there there's something bad and we're also out of water and we might have to stay on the beach why am i going into the woods right now i don't even understand sometimes i'm just running around doing random things let's grab some more berries and stuff on the way so yeah um i might end up changing some server stats and some stuff along the way uh i don't want to make it too easy for myself but i don't know i just i made some server settings and if they work they work and if they don't then whatever because i want to avoid him i might end up dying here hopefully not okay we bounced a little bit so we're okay we're good let me just go grab a little splash of water although i guess i could have ate some berries but definitely coming down here is a good idea i need to remember that i can eat these blueberries because we were just playing the hunted mod and uh everybody knows that the blueberries in that mod are just death berries essentially i don't know what this is by the way but the water looks super weird um i don't know if it looked like this before i did play on this map before we played on this map in the jurassic park series that we had going um should we go ahead and put on these skins to trick the terra bird into thinking i'm part of a tech tribe hmm i don't know if that would work let's go ahead and get a little sin though and let's just make some like normal kind of stuff uh okay we also get a level i'm gonna go ahead and pump that into weight um i might need to take these down a bit i don't know if this is acceptable all right let's see um let me go ahead and just pop that down somewhere here maybe over by the cliff although that's probably not a super great idea i'm hoping to see if we can find some hides so we're just gonna pop everything that we have into here besides the spears and we'll see if we can manage to find some little sin can stay in there too uh all right so we're gonna need to start out with somewhat kind of terrible dinosaurs oh my god there's a raptor could i kill it with a headshot spear maybe oh you know what hang on if i can get up this hill i could probably headshot it with spears and kill it that way yes we gotta be smart about this one all right let me get up and around here if that terror bird will not attack me then i should be good to go with this all right cool so anyway yeah doc's really great mod i urge you guys to check it out um it was really really fun back in the day and i know it's gotten tons of updates since i believe i i think it's like maybe almost about a year ago it started to kind of surge in popularity again um although to be honest i don't really think very many people were playing it back in the day i really only remember me and my people playing it back in the day so yeah but i i do know like i i believe riot was playing it maybe about a year ago and i think he sunk some money into this mod as well to try and also put some creatures in i don't know if we're actually going to be able to hit this dude oh i hit him oh okay oh i didn't think he could run up the hill 875 oh god no that's uh that was scary i didn't think you could run up the hill it was so fast i didn't like that i didn't like that at all okay at least it's up the hill now i have my safety beach here i think we're good oh yeah no that was not okay oh my heart i didn't like that i don't like that at all uh are we gonna be able to kill anything probably not we're gonna have to drown everything can i find a gigan to drown oh look wait wait wait wait wait wait wait what do we got over here we got some ichthyornis they don't give hide though do they i don't think they do and also these guys are probably super mean as well i'm almost kind of curious like well oh what's that little thing above your head what is that oh okay you're way too fast these are like super dolphins also this mod is like custom fish like have you ever heard of that like a mod with his own custom fish uh oh why are they like marching towards where i think my stuff it i i think we're back this way i'm in the same spawn area but it's kind of hard to tell it's just like a giant beach i think we're back this way we're gonna keep looking to when it kind of slopes down technically i don't need that stuff back i could just maybe pick up some more stuff what the hell's happening here okay uh but yeah um is this the same spot i feel like this is it although it definitely wasn't worth running all the way back over here i i definitely could have just crafted a bunch of new things um oh wait no wait oh i'm an idiot oh i just remembered i put on the death mod that's another thing i don't know if i want to keep that i i really don't like i kind of like playing with that in super modded series so i don't have to constantly worry about picking up my bag um because you die every like five minutes and half of these things oh okay what the hell is that um so yeah i could have kept everything on me because it's just gonna stay in my inventory again i'm not 100 sure about everything that i have on here so it's definitely subject to change this is not where i was is it this is definitely not where i was um i have no clue where we were so let's start again i could have kept all my stuff on me but i'm a big dumb dumb i put this model list together like several days ago so i kind of forgot about that my bad okay it's kind of weird how they they stay loaded in from that far away but i definitely remember giant dimorphs and dragons flying halfway across the map to come and get me so that's a little bit scary i don't know what type of wyvern that is but it's definitely a something oh god wait wait wait wait wait wait what do you mean it's passing by what is that that what the hell's okay it's the trinadon what is what i don't even know what okay cool i don't remember that happening um i definitely can't kill you i need hide though i'm gonna need to do something let me just throw a spear oh that did nothing no oh wait no oh it's running oh okay i figured that it would attack me uh that definitely will attack me let's not go this way let's run back in this direction and yeah um we're like super far back here that's where we need to be i don't know how to how to get some hide here we're definitely gonna struggle with this one um it's not gonna be like the struggle that we had in the haunted series but it's definitely going to be a struggle nonetheless uh okay never mind you know what i don't need hide i'll just this is a vegan play-through yeah that's that's it we're going with that we're not gonna kill anything we're not gonna eat anything besides berries and maybe poo i don't know we'll see um i'm not saying vegans eat poot okay i'm just digging myself into a hole here anyway um okay there's like nothing on the beach at all like literally no plants uh they're all so spread out now we have some okay let me try and okay i held down e but i wasn't picking them up all right so yeah we we just we gotta survive for today we got to survive we're probably going to die and and lose anything that i might be able to possibly tame but we'll see what we can manage to do here in the first episode it's definitely not going to go well if there's just terrifying terror birds and and raptors and everything like that around but um yeah you know what it would be great right now if we had some like washed up whales on the beach or something like that that would be fantastic hello little pteranodon what level are you okay you're only level 1115 so maybe we could take him out at some point i mean that's a low level uh okay i'm i believe that they're also they might be passive teams i i think i can't exactly remember what the hell is that overlord nearby what that's a desert titan is that not like what where is that thing it's obviously like way up in the sky or something i don't actually see it that's weird okay i'm pretty sure that's like isn't that like one of the final bosses or something you guys know more than i do because like i said four years ago yeah um okay let's uh let's see this this is actually kind of getting close to where we were before although i don't know why i keep running back here like we literally don't need that stuff is it even worth making any cloth stuff probably not let's just uh let's go ahead and wait where's the way speaking of little sin we are very very close to these syntax youtubes being shipped out they look almost identical to little sin i sent youtubes that as a bit of a reference to what i kind of wanted to look like um oh wait here comes the galley so yeah they're super close to being shipped out and there's only a few left so if you want to pick one up do it because what like after they're gone they're gone forever they're never gonna be restocked and if you ever want one you're gonna have to buy one from somebody that wants to charge you like four times the price because they can on this map we do have a bed though let's make a bed i actually added on the pickup mod which is something that i believe we might have had on that server back in the day i definitely used to use that mod quite a bit though um all right let's see so let's uh let's just keep an eye out for that little terror bird uh yeah this is where we died very very close to it at least i i don't know why i'm going for this box but apparently i want whatever's in this box i feel like the terrible and the carno duked it out and then maybe the fiomia came in and and killed everything maybe i don't know uh let's go ahead and do that let's just go ahead and pick that up as well all right let's go let's go over here i don't know exactly what we're doing we're gonna need to level up a bit oh wait no we're actually perfect okay we don't actually need to level right now let me go ahead and make this that's amazing oh look at this wait wait there's like a modded version of the hours yeah there they are okay wait do we have we have to get a doc's bow do we uh which one's the doc's bow um bow wait what is it is it like a doc's bow for this or again haven't played this in ages only used with oh doc superior bow um bow okay yeah it's probably this crossbow here so let's go ahead and just make normal arrows for the moment because i don't think i can use the other ones on the thingies so yeah there we go let's make 56 of those apparently and let's make a second bow all right um raptor saddle totally not useful right now uh what can we use though nothing really nothing really at all uh i mean i guess we could make some blood packs but it's probably not super useful right now uh fishing that maybe i don't know uh let's you know what should i put on some clothes no i kind of like this look it's amazing you know what there we go look tech suit nobody's gonna want to mess with me now they're gonna think i'm in tech and it's just amazing let's go ahead and swap that do that and let me go ahead and put these bows onto my hotbar as well i really don't know if this is actually going to help out at all i don't know so we're going to have to wait and see um but i do have bolas now which is good so if i want to kill more pteranodons or i guess some pteranodons i don't know why i'm saying more when i haven't even killed a single one but yeah if we want to kill some pteranodons or stuff like that we can go ahead and use the ebolas to help us out with that look at all these cool bullets though that are just found on the ground for free it's amazing i love that um let's go ahead and put half into there and half of the wood boom get that lit up again episode when episode one we gotta do all the basics we gotta cover all the the little things that you need to do at the very start of arc uh let's go ahead and oh that's the wrong button there we go i meant to hit these two and a boom okay cool so while some of that is cooking up let me see is there like anything that's like super good for us you know what i think there is there any sort of like bench let me see work bench that's not how you spell work is there like a workbench no uh bench uh that's a normal bet okay yeah hmm smithy is there like a doc smithy that's definitely just s plus and regular one i don't know if there's like a doc's crafting bench craft uh i don't know i don't know what we're looking for here i really don't know there's got to be something though eventually so hopefully we can find out what that is and get whatever that is so for the moment let's just go ahead and grab that stuff um we have two little sins we've got to make a choice here got to make a choice let me drop that one and let me go ahead and put this little sin on and let me actually just name you because otherwise it's just beautiful sky none of the other arcs i've been to have a sky like this one do you guys see that it kind of looks like it there's like a weird skeleton or something right there do you guys see that or is that just me like a weird skeleton face kind of like one eye there the other eye is probably like hidden i don't really know uh i don't know why i spotted that let's get them back up so we can actually see and maybe we can kill this uh peligornis let's see if we can do it pellicornis come on we could do it i know we can oh 180 damage hell yeah we could totally do this kellogg's ain't got nothing there we go awesome all right yeah it feels really weird coming from like the hunted mod uh series to this one uh this this one is like way more hardcore and everything you know obviously in the hunted it like everything was just like so primitive and kind of like slow but in a good way like not in a bad way at all i love that series so much but uh it feels feels kind of crazy hopping over from that one to this one but um i'm definitely really happy to be playing this again like super hyped up especially for that gigantic leech oh and by the way don't please don't go back and watch the old videos on the old series don't do it uh it's like super early youtube for me and it's definitely just a cringe fest and you won't enjoy it so just i'm telling you right now don't go back and watch it but if you do just please be kind in the comments oh man all right let's see occasionally i do get old comments on those types of videos and people are like oh my god like syntec please just cringe yeah i agree i definitely agree um we have almost enough flint for whatever we might need it for which is literally nothing um let's make a mortar and pestle i'd love to actually be able to find some dinos that we can tame like a trike or something would be great um or maybe that raptor i mean wait we we have trunks right but they're not like they're not like yeah they're darts yeah we can't shoot those poison bullets uh okay yeah we can't use any of this stuff oh metabolism dart oh yeah i like that okay cool uh yeah we can't really use any of that right now so that kind of sucks um that's a special treat for pygmies okay cool i love the little pygmies actually that was really cool back in the day unless like everything about this mod was really cool one thing that i definitely noticed over the years was like this mod had so many creative ideas in it and i always felt like all the other mods that came after this one it seemed like a lot of them just pulled ideas from this one i'm not saying they stole them but i definitely felt like they did and a lot of them got popular with those ideas but docs was the original one with all of those really cool ideas like evolving creatures and stuff like that that was unheard of before docs you know and it's just kind of crazy to think like a lot of the stuff actually came from this mod um and it's just like it's it's so it's i don't know i feel like it's still pretty like unknown to a certain extent i don't know i feel like a lot of people know of it but there's not very many subscribers on the steam page for some reason so check this mod out honestly it was just great and it will be great this is going to be a fantastic series um i don't know what we're doing here i feel like maybe heading up the hill let me grab just a little a little slice of wood one of those thank you very much and let's make a little torch so we can see things oh i made a mortar and then i didn't even place it down let's go ahead and just pop that down maybe make some spark powder while we're moving around um i can hear one of my cats outside my door they can hear me up here and they recently learned that i'm actually when i leave and and disappear i come up here very odd i know but yeah now they're just like camping outside my door great um all right let's head on up here let's see what we can find to maybe kill or die to one or the other is gonna happen again we gotta remember there was a something big maybe potentially around here something strong enough to take out an apex carno so oh we got bugs okay i don't want to fight maybe going to actually try and fight it until we died but uh yeah like we probably could have considering the fact that it has to full-on just you know pull the brakes when it wants to attack um it almost kind of seems like you probably could do that i forgot to check what level bag that uh the karna was from um or what level bag that colonel was from what level carno that bag was from words they're very difficult for me on this channel um it definitely seems like this this area is dead hopefully i picked it's just suddenly got very bright i thought i was the chosen one uh hopefully i picked a good map for this because i don't really see anything now is that a good thing or a bad thing i don't know probably a bad thing i mean i would kind of oh my god um literally oh oh my god that thing it like shot that thing right across so fast ah that was scary oh my god what the hell dude that's it like it's like a bullet it's like a rock bullet maybe i could use it to take out this pteranodon no it's running from me flying from me technically um is it going back into the ground okay cool i want to maybe see if i can kill this triad on that's why i was running over here uh no that thing does not want to land just like flyers when you're mounted on them it's it's literally acting like one of those uh what is that okay pelgornis why is there like nothing on the beach do i need to up creature spawns that might be a bad idea in the long run i don't know if that's really something i should be doing um okay maybe we can go ahead and kill this one i don't want to go back to that one it's too close to the uh the dude whatever his name is i don't know it was a rubble golem but i don't know what it's called in this so yeah we definitely can't get down there without breaking they had those in this map hell yeah oh we only got one level from it all right if i can find another one i could do the little the little bonus stack but i don't really know where they are on this map uh so probably not gonna do that uh let's see we've got oh yeah we've got this car down here we were over here earlier we saw him um don't know if it's a good idea to really come down here here i i burped a little i'm sorry um probably not oh my god he's so fast do you guys see that hang on we are thirsty uh we need just a little oh my god he killed that turtle don't run over here please you are very very fast and you're scary too we do have a bed that i guess we could spawn back at but i i don't really want to lose this shirt it's it's really grown on me um are those floating rocks i think so can we get the stranded on maybe like i i just want to i want to go ahead and kill something just for some levels especially right now actually with this with this xp bonus it would be great modded items on the ground after just things dying that's that's something that i really like in mods like this i really like just getting all these amazing items really early on i mean judging by our little setup right here you know we've already gotten a couple really good items anyway but oh yeah it does have a bag i am super greedy and i'm going to be super greedy right now and we're probably going to die trying to grab this but i don't know is that like a bomb on a stick did i just get what the hell is that i just got a bow though i just got a superior bow or something hang on let me get back let me get further over here i don't trust this car no also it's super fast what did we just get um doxspear explodes on impact oh yes yes a thousand times yes what the hell does this look like uh it's like a smoke grenade okay interesting i mean i like it i don't think we should use it right now i feel like we should hold on to that we do have a superior doc's bow so let me pull out the arrow oh it's you have to hold down control to do that boom let's drop that one on the ground keep this other one just in case should we make some docs arrows ah where are they wait wait they're
