okay i wasn't going to do this as you can see i'm back home uh you're about to see a tour of the completed amazing garage um you know i'm not an amazing kind of guy i'm more of a uh a uh a realist but this freaking cross holy crap it turned out so well it was just amazing the start of the trip wasn't so great with sucky travel arrangements and all that stuff but while i was there and we got started i'm like i'm never doing this again but we're doing it again december 15th to january 31st we're going to do another garage giveaway whatever it takes to get the garage done emmanuel's garage turned out insanely well like i would argue one of the best uh you know best you know regular sized garages on the planet uh it's uh it's really really uh amazing to see it all come together so we're to do it again the way it will work is you'll go to obsessed garage.com on december 15th and and beyond uh to buy stuff we have a bunch of cool stuff we got a bunch of og branded stuff a bunch of um packages and detailing stuff kind of like the m5 giveaway only better we've got some some new stuff you buy some stuff you get a spot you get more than one spot and i'm going to pick somebody's garage to go to their house and do the same thing too and we'll do it as soon as soon as they're ready after january 31st so that's the plan hope you enjoy the tour uh we'll probably have another summary big long summary video i'll also go through um there'll be another video where i go through all the details of what this thing costs if you wanted to replicate something similar in your in your house anyway thanks for being a part i hope you enter the next giveaway and wanted to let you know i decided to do it it'll be coming next month all right welcome to chesapeake virginia where i'm going to take you through this garage that we designed and built from scratch emanuel and his family they won the garage giveaway last christmas and we finished it here today in early november 2020 this is a 3 000 square foot house and in the state of virginia we've had some cold days and some warm days but i want to take you through the setup and everything that we did from start to finish i'm going to take you through the floor the flooring the lights the cabinets the tools every part and piece that we put into this place including the outlets that we put in on the walls but we're going to take you through this and take you through each step of the process to get through this result of the last 40 years of curating stuff that i think is uh pretty complete for what is i think probably one of the best if not the best two-car garage in the world so let's go check it out first thing we chose is flooring flooring is one of those for whatever reason really polarizing topics this is swiss tracks flooring uh the reason why i use this flooring in your garage is it's three quarters of an inch thick so dirt disappears it's sort of counterintuitive it's counter to what you would think you would think well shoot what am i gonna do with all the dust and dirt and sand uh he has really fine like golf course grass when cut when we came here didn't have floors down all that all that little fine grass would blow all the way to the back of the garage the magic of having three quarter inch thick interlocking plastic tiles is that all that stuff just sits underneath the floor and you could choose to vacuum it whenever you want and all you would do is just take a shop vac and suck it out or take your leaf blower and blow it out but the magic of this especially silver is it always looks clean you can see we made the transition there rather nice and neatly on the threshold from the driveway to the garage we centered this up the concept here was that the center black tiles would tell you how to line up the car in order to drive onto the lift uh but we have um about i don't know how much the this is what sixteen eighteen hundred dollars worth of flooring to fill up the space we have about 400 square feet the garage is 21 and a half feet deep 21 feet wide and the colors we chose were pearl silver and then black to kind of match the theme the next thing we had to choose was paint and i'm pretty adamant about this i'm telling you you're not going to wash your walls so give up that dream the paint we're using in here is sherwin-williams flat so stick with flat paint the magic of flat paint is that when i mark it up yes it marks much quicker much easier but when i do mark the walls or touch the walls or get dirt on the walls i can just take a paintbrush and touch it up and not have a difference in sheen and so that's the i think the beauty of flat paint plus it helps with detailing it helps with reflections i just think it's a better way it's a better look it looks cleaner uh and i'm telling you no matter what the guy at the paint store says you're not going to freaking wash your walls i've never seen anybody wash the walls of my life so you're always going to touch them up with a paint brush so harbor gray ac25 is the color code it's a benjamin moore color sherwin williams and any pretty much any paint supplier can match the color for you but that's what's on all the walls including the stem wall one of the things that mike and i were talking about we kind of ran out of time to do some trim casings and crown molding but we we did paint the we did paint in the stem wall and then the ceiling and this was emanuel and kyle's idea which i was pretty adamantly against but i think it turned out quite all right so this is a tricorn black which is a sherwin-williams color we had three coats of uh what i didn't realize was sherwin williams exterior paint and we're getting a sheen it was driving me crazy the sheen you could see you could see the roller marks uh and once i realized we were using exterior paint exterior paint always has a little bit of extra sheen even in flat we went and bought uh three gallons of interior flat black tricorn black and uh we rolled it where mike and i would roll a heavy coat and then kyle came and back rolled the whole thing and we got a really pretty darn great result i don't know that we could have done better even if we sprayed it obviously using professional sprayer would probably be the best way to do it but uh i think it's a pretty neat idea there's no real technical reason why we did black which just freaking looks cool you know it makes the ceiling sort of disappear if you will uh in a perfect detailing world you'd probably put black on the walls too but we didn't want to shrink the room and so there's no technical reason other than i just think it's awesome lighting these are the og fixtures these are technically designed for a high bay warehouse that's what these are for we're using them in a nine foot ceiling 2 car garage i suggest that you do 4 bulb fixtures when you're 10 feet or below the 6 bulb fixtures just a little bit more intense and then you want to disperse as many fixtures as you can get as symmetrically as possible and so you guys can't see it here but we have two fixtures underneath the garage door which are really important when you close the door and the car's on the lift and you're detailing the whole perimeter of the vehicle front and back is lit evenly equally and there isn't a lot of shadowing the color temp is 5000 k these are single sided led bulbs rather efficient each fixture is about 7 10 of an amp versus a you know a t8 type fluorescent fixture would be you know probably two two and a half times that uh but we're getting i guess if you were to do a lighting calc probably a hundred and fifteen hundred twenty foot lambdas of uh of light is it footlambers or foot candles one or the other a lot of foots a lot of feet of light let's call it that so the uh the the lighting pretty simple uh we had a single fixture here you can see our blank panel and so mike had to cut one two three four an entire strip uh so you can't see it mike's a wizard with drywall and so we had to cut there's a room above this many many different locations in order to get wire to where it needed to be the lighter on the lights on a single switch here which you'd come in these are not dimmable but you can see quite a bit difference the camera's probably adjusting a bit but quite a bit of the difference between having a single 3000k fixture yellow fixture to 5000 kelvin very very white light so cabinets i've been chasing cabinets for forever and the problem with cabinets is that it gets extremely expensive and these are about as expensive as it gets these are sonic mss plus they're made in taiwan to be honest they don't really care where they're made the fit and finish of these is on par with anything else i think the best cabinets in the world are these lista moduline rousseau these are some of the best cabinets available the beauty of these these are truly designed for you know they're designed for bmw dealerships in porsche and and places that have a real um professional need but they fit the finish how the corners how they bolt together how they're designed how they're laid out is like no other cabinet i've encountered and i've seen pretty much everyone that exists and so this array here isn't complete we're waiting on some uppers you know the the pandemic has caused quite a bit of supply chain issues all over the world we wanted to come here and get this garage done emanuel is going to be able to simply put some screws in hang his uppers when they come in january february they should be here soon but the concept here was to utilize as much space as possible now this is technically a two-car garage at 21 feet wide but emanuel said look i'd rather have one nice car be able to pull in here and have room to work around so we've kind of converted it to a one car setup and so traditionally i would do cabinets across the back wall and i want it to be as symmetrical as possible but because the doorway throws us off the stem wall also doesn't give us as much room to work with on the back wall uh kyle and emmanuel thought we should set up the cabinet array on the on one of the two sides and obviously the left side made the most sense because we had the flattest longest wall and so we as you can see have about a sixteenth of an inch of leftover space between our breaker panel and our cabinet array the concept here was that we would have a 890 a 720 an 890 millimeter and a 720 again supply chain issue dictated that we couldn't get a 720 for many many months and so it worked out where we ended up getting the rolling these are 700 millimeters kyle 700 millimeter carts which magically allow us to roll around the garage and keep our tools where necessary you know so if i wanted to move it there's back stops there's side moldings on here to make sure you really can't mess up you slide it in you lock the feet and i have myself a permanent locked in solution that is also portable so pretty neat idea where i can move them around put them where i need it and then dock it back in the in location i think depending on what you're doing if it were me i'd probably keep them out on the back one of the things you'll also notice if you take a look at the feet there's there's about two and a half almost three inches of drop from the back corner to the x of the garage i mean garages are sloped and you'll see we've had to level the feet from the extreme corner cabinet being basically flat uh to the cabinet on the end here having you know two and a quarter two and a half inches of of height added in order to get us a plumb setup so the only disadvantage to doing that is then you can see in here our rolling cabinets do have a slight pitch to them i don't think you'd notice that unless i told you but just something to consider so the other side of the room kyle came up with the idea that why couldn't we create like a little shrine to the pressure washer and put a sink and then have a cabinet set up for microfiber towels and some interior cleaners and stuff like that and so again because we sort of converted this to an oversized one car choosing to do there was already plumbing here for uh you know just your typical you know home depot plastic sink uh let's do an mss plus sink uh and we were all really shocked this is the first cabinet that we opened uh and we're really pretty darn pleased with uh how this came out how this cabinet looks it's about 12 inches deep t304 stainless steel has a t304 stainless drain with a uh with um i guess like a silt filter even has a even says sus304 on the on the drain plug and also has this really sort of neat um i guess for us for people doing polishing and stuff like that you could leave your pads in here to dry out underneath i found this uh this was actually one of the least expensive um faucets at home depot but it was the one that matched the best and doesn't have any plastic so full stainless stainless piece to kind of match the setup here we had to modify this cabinet uh mike cut this out and had to cut the shelves so that we could get both shelves in here but you can see how functional this this thing is and then uh again really the fit and finish of this is pretty pretty amazing we'll talk about the pressure washer in a minute uh but this is a 890 millimeter uh sink and then this is a i know 720 millimeter sink and then a 650 millimeter wide large cabinet which we filled with microfiber towels we'll talk about in a minute so the cabinet's set up all locking all super clean super organized a satin black finish extremely durable i don't think it's i don't think it matters what gauge i don't even know what these are 18 gauge or something like that the gauge of the cabinet doesn't really matter i know that's the only shopping point that people have because it's hard to find garage cabinets but i'm freaking telling you these cabinets are if they're not the best they're pretty darn close and i just think they look amazing they only come in black it's the only finish we can get here in the u.s but man pretty darn incredible set of uh of cabinets to house our tools and and our towels and all of our detailing stuff so let's talk tools um tools are another one of those controversial topics sonic creates an ecosystem that just appeals to me like very few things do on this planet you have fit and finish that's almost unparalleled their cabinets are extremely nice but the thing that really won me over on sonic was their their whole package the uh and i'm i generally am a curator i like to find things you'll see some of the other products in here where i'm tearing apart the product and putting my own stuff together pulling from different brands and and curating with these their foam inlays are world class i don't think there is another inlay that's as well designed that's as clean that is organized in the same fashion that sonic has done the only problem is sonic has hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of different foam inlay setups and they don't have a single set of tools and so what we've done here obsessed garage is i've sat down i cut out the catalog of all the hundreds and hundreds of different foam inlays and i laid them out on a table and i figured out how can i get the most complete set of tools this is 250 tools 1250 costs about 15 grand to get one of pretty much everything they make i believe they have about if you include the one inch size tools they have about 2 200 tools total but this is a very very complete set of tools that we outfitted in the various size cabinets uh in the sonic array we had to make some adjustments for my normal set but um because of our rolling cabinets but this is a darn near complete set i'm going to take you through i think we said we have 16 drawers full of tools wrenches and you'll notice these are extra deep these are you know 26 inches deep this is a drawer or what they call a large drawer instead of a large xd drawer like the one upper more wrenches some allen keys we have our pliers and cutters and sonic version of vice grips and then some of these deeper drawers we don't put much in my one of my next steps is to figure out how to integrate some other organization solutions like tool grid but these these deep drawers are also extremely extremely useful uh where you can fit tons of stuff i'll show you some of the some of the polishing cabinets stuff we put inside these also allow us to do power bricks we chose not to do that because when we do the uppers each upper is going to have its own integrated power bar for for powering then you'll notice these are what they call a medium-sized drawer where you can put three of their small inlays to set up a complete drawer or you can buy medium here's our impact tools you can see it goes on darn near forever hammers and and center punches some more um electric type screwdrivers what they call those things vd video screwdrivers so you don't kill yourself when you stick it in an outlet a miscellaneous tool drawer we have uh oil change kit some right angle wrenches and then we put our three quarter you don't need to put a three quarter in a deep drawer but we add one extra set of tools that we needed to to fit inside the deep door these are my favorites screwdrivers torx long handle torx we have 3 8 drive look at this freaking sick the new black version the new 25 tooth version of the sonic ratchets which i love here's the old version of the old handle half inch drive including 80 to 400 newton meter torque wrench and then what we did was put some of our scan grip tools the scan grip stuff is going to go in the uppers to plug to plug things in and charge we put our polishing stuff here polishing pads and then our polishers down here in the bottom nice neat and organized and then the last cabinet quarter inch this is so freaking cool sae quarter 3 8 and a half sae wrenches t-handles more t-handles and then a bunch of like square drive torque safety all that kind of stuff and i think we have an empty oh nope we got our o-ring kit we had to buy and some pry tools and then a brake kit as well so the other great thing about the setup of these cabinets and it's going to be really fantastic when he has the powered setup the cabinets have wire routing behind them these wire pipes are what hold everything together and so the wire pipes in the mss plus line are all hollowed out uh so that they're able to run and uh they'll have all the cabinets have grommets their grommets in the back of these lowers so you can put a power brick uh in there and not have to uh have to worry about wiring and routing like i mentioned earlier each cabinet has a has a lock you could master key if you wanted to and then also set the whole light combination i doubt we'll ever lock these here's our milwaukee drawer with my bottle of water to help help me because i'm dying i think we work too hard i'm allergic to blue-collar labor um i sent my emanuel a pretty extensive array of milwaukee tools even though we weren't a milwaukee dealer yet i figured since he won the garage giveaway and it was only a two car uh that we could do mss plus and we could do noosebomb and we could do milwaukee since he didn't have some big four car garage that was going to cost me twice as much but these are our blocks our phone blocks for putting underneath the car to lift it up and then like i said a i don't know how much money i spent on all this milwaukee stuff but it wasn't cheap a lot of a lot of really cool stuff and then this cabinet here is massive so this is a 965. uh we don't have anything in here so that's a good sign it's a good sign that he's gonna have a bunch of uppers and uh so have room to fit ego blowers some gym equipment you know whatever he needs i told him he's not to put anything in here until after i leave um but probably fill it up with a bunch of stuff after we after we depart you have room for manuals and i'm sure you could find some cool things to put in there maybe you could put your wheel brushes store it there if that's something that was something you'd be interested in so we thought from a flow perspective all of our washing would be on this side of the room and so i have interior cleaning stuff that i couldn't fit on the shelves and then all of our 10 different types of towels and i set them up with two sets which is what i have in my cabinet at home two sets or 20 of each towel because i don't like to have to uh have to go and wash them when i need them i want to wash them whenever i feel like washing them and sometimes some of these towels like window towels and drying towels i'll use you know 15 or 16 of them before i wash those the next time so this is a one two three four five shelve which gives us a sixth shelf for uh for plenty of storage and these are this one is fixed the top one is fixed in all these and then these are all adjustable and then like i said in the sink earlier this is where we'll keep our wash pads probably keep hand soaps and stuff like that and we have three shelves that are adjustable which we cut out to fit around the mark you might have to modify those in order to fit around the the uh the sink that's on this so then we did uh shelving in the room uh and uh this was kyle's idea there's actually a fireplace behind here so we couldn't cut this wall or do anything uh anything specific to it other than maybe mount them to the studs but these are t304 uh stainless eight inch deep by 36 inch or 32 inch 36 inch wide with the idea that you could display all of your detailing supplies one of the next evolutionary steps i'm hoping to accomplish is that i don't love having all these different bottles but i do love having all these different curated products these are all products that have been a um you know sort of a life's mission for me to figure out what is a good process for washing the car notice there's not one brand there's a bunch of different brands for each each each prop part of the process and so the reason we're curating that is that you know i believe that there's you know maybe the the company that makes uh makes glass cleaner there's a company that makes the best glass cleaner that may not make a good wheel cleaner and so we're curating products from all over the world to create a process and so we have wheels interior decon polishing made sense to me to put our foam cannon on our car shampoo and then our drying aid on the shelf above the sink manual can kind of play with that but these are these are 10 inch deep shelves 24 inch wide by 10 inch deep and the concept here is that i would love to have matching bottles so we're going to be we're going to be hopefully accomplishing that in the next year so we could have matching bottles on our shelves and we'll of course get a convinced manual to buy that stuff and set it up in this garage where everything can match but for now i think it looks pretty sweet matching the stainless sink and stainless countertops then over here in the corner is the og custom install pressure washing solution same type of shelf matching this is an 8 inch deep by 18 inch wide shelf but same t304 stainless mike actually cut this wall as he did most of the walls in this garage cut it blocked it ran an outlet a dedicated 20 amp circuit to the krenzla and then of course framed it up and mounted one of the unique things about this is that rather than having to cut the wall and try to cut some of the main lines you can see he routed a our prevost piping from underneath the sink here put a 90 in tapped into the cold water line of the of the sink in order to provide us with uh with water the other thing that's a little different than normal rather than cutting in a hose bib here and dealing with all of these uh all these water lines running uh we set up our obsessed garage ultimate hose our bucket filler solution tucked all the way in the corner our buckets fit nicely in there and we have the option to switch this is kyle's designer kyle's idea or you can do tap water or you can route through the cr and fill up your bucket with uh deionized water if you're doing something like a waterless wash or something like that 100 foot hose uh and then the krensley k1322 which is the og spec version the pressure washer does uh 2.1 gallons per minute at about 1000 psi rated at 1300 but gives us about a thousand psi and uh i think uh i think having it tucked in this little cave here really doesn't get much better than that og spec gun wand and then we got him the og spec quick disconnect solution for his funnel or for his uh foam cannon and uh the only thing he doesn't have yet is we got to get him the funnel as well which just came out i also have a cap for shaking up the bottle but the concept here is that i can switch between short and long gun to clean my wheels you could wash in here i'm sure there's not a drain in this garage but i think he'll be doing most of his washing outside but 20 degree bent wand and then holstered in the t304 stainless masmatic wand holder pretty sick i think this doesn't get much better than that every time mike and i do one of these there's an upgrade new stainless the last one we did we had a new stainless fitting and then we had the blue hose now we've got black and we also have gray hose reels that we stock regularly i think the black concept and then we tried the gray prevost piping for the first time which is uh technically used for uh what is it for vacuum hose line yeah instead of air hose so this is actually air piping that we're using for water which works pretty well so garage door is the same we didn't modify this the house came with a pretty nice insulated door you can see the foam or styrofoam insulation but one thing it did have is a pretty uh pretty basic uh center mount garage door opener and so one of the things we wanted to do i called mike i said hey mike can we can we do a jack jack can you do that like heck yeah i can do it i was like well sweet let's get one of those as well so this is a liftmaster 8500 i think there's an 8500w as well but that one has a red case uh and so we chose the 8500 because it's black i'm lying we just bought the 8500 and happened to be black but it matches the rest of the theme in the garage we had to run a new line which i sat tediously tucked between the stem wall and the drywall with a little flathead we have a new garage door opener panel and then it's all wi-fi enabled you can lock the door the other thing that's nice about this jack shaft version is it does have a a pretty stout lock that locks automatically once the garage reaches reaches uh closed uh and then we've you know ran the new mines for micro in the new lines for the um for the sensors uh so this here the advantage is again it especially for the lift it opens up the ceiling so that way we don't have the the garage rope or in the way so air compressor i don't think that we had this back when uh when we did the giveaway yeah in fact we were we had jenny compressors only which we still offer the jenny compressors are i think some of the best piston compressors on the planet i discovered this actually this week last year at sema we've de-badged this that's kind of the theme you'll see in here as all the badges are taken off that we could take off but this is a roughly 13 cfm rotary screw compressor that can work in a consumer garage like this a regular garage that isn't going to be using the compressed air all the time one of the beauties of of of a rotary screw type compressor is they're extremely quiet this one is rated at 59 db at 10 feet so it's extremely quiet extremely efficient we have an 80 gallon tank and one of the problems with this style of compressor a rotary screw is that if you don't operate a rotary screw often you'll generally get water in the in the oil and you'll generally have rusting in the head and you'll have big problems in the future well this has a heater an oil heater that allows you to cycle it whenever you need to and so it can function extremely well in a consumer garage like this we don't need any shrouds we don't need any sound proofing we don't need to try to put this in another room somewhere else like an attic and so i can run this compressor have a conversation two feet from it and uh and then still deliver you know say 15 cfm at 90 psi which is more than what we're going to need to run anything in this in an application like this so to keep this simple i actually did this in my headquarters this has its own regulator on it i don't think we need any significant filtration for what we're doing in a garage like this uh we also didn't set up any kind of time drain i showed a manual that i would just you know once every six months come and drain the the tank into a cup and the amount of use this is going to get i don't think we need anything sophisticated like that but we just simply put a quick disconnect on a very super flexible t316 stainless steel line and then run it into a double manifold here and so this manifold will allow us to hook up a loose hose if you ever wanted to and then we have we decided to use the the vacuum line the gray line and then rather than try to cut we could very easily cut and run it through the wall i wanted to see it gives it that super kind of cool pseudo-industrial look but this piping is so freaking cool looking so much different than any other piping on the market from a quality perspective especially their fittings one of the things we did here rather than shipping 20-foot lengths being it's only a 20-foot garage the unions actually are so clean and so nice that i don't think there's a problem running a couple of unions so we've shipped you know six-foot pipes that's how we ship it to people uh if you're doing a huge garage you can pay the five or six hundred dollars in freight to have your 20-foot lengths but think about sending a 20-foot length only costs 45 bucks a length to spend you know 500 of shipping doesn't make a lot of sense so we cut it down ship it in six foot lengths and you can see mike set up the ci clamps so these are prevost specific clamps they use some drywall ankle anchors and some toggle bolts to get them set up but it makes for an extremely clean installation we thought a lot about the possibility of running uh running the line down the middle and then teeing it off and then coming down the middle to retain symmetry but i wanted it to be above the cabinets i think it turned out great the garage is still symmetrically heavy left because that's where the main cabinet array is and so i was okay with terminating the pipe and then doing these little whip hoses that go into our cox hose reels a couple of things that are important to note about these again this is og black i special order these we stock these in this very specific color normally they only come in blue we've de-badged them but these are what are called easy coil and so the way that we set these up the way the springs are designed is so that the hose doesn't whip across the room it's extremely um i guess you could say ergonomic easy to manage so that way normally a hose reel when you let go or a power cord reel it would whip across the room you'd have to manage it or these are clearly much more user friendly costs a lot more to do that but it's a much better better system and then our power our air reels which are going to be hot all the time uh we'll leave air to them coming at all times these again are easy coil as well this is one of those things where i told you just don't accept i don't generally buy things out of the box one i wanted a stronger spring the spring that comes with the easy coil reels didn't work with most aftermarket hoses second i didn't like any of the cox hose options this is actually a prevost nitrile rubber yes it's green green really isn't the color well my shoes match it but um this is by far the best hose that i've found on the planet i haven't found anything to replicate it even continental county tech hoses they just don't like as much and so this being nitrile rubber if you ran it across the floor and got some transmission fluid or some brake fluid or something like that wouldn't explode versus an epdm rubber type hose wouldn't be as durable clearly we don't need a paint grade a paint booth grade hose for this garage but why not and of course you there are matching whip hoses and they just happen to be green the other thing that these have that's rather remarkable are this prevost uh s1 fluid couplers and then we spec them in euro high flow so the inlet is much bigger and less parasitic but the magic of these type of fittings not only is it completely fluid if you're doing any polishing or any work around the car but they're double release whereas normally you know just like hoses would whip across the room you'd have to push down in order for this to release or this is a double type release makes it so much more ergonomic it's just a better way better way to operate and you can see how fluid these hundred dollar couplers are but i think it's worth every penny so that's our hose reel setup mike had to again cut this wall as well uh you know float the drywall and uh mud it and uh these both uh this has a stainless swivel as well which is an og option so og spec spring og spec uh hose assembly og spec stainless swivel very different i know they're more expensive than what you see online but considerably different than what you would find out there because we're speccing it the way we want so there's blocking in the wall here that we had to cut the wall put blocking in and you know we utilize you know i talked about earlier you know this is 40 years of my life but what you're seeing all the detail that you're not seeing in this video if you go back and watch the other stuff you're seeing i guess mike's 10 years older than me i hold that against them you're seeing 50 years of pure obsession mike is one of very few people who can do all the trades he can do electrical he can do drywall he can do framing he can do plumbing and so without him this doesn't happen so all the new details that you're not seeing in this video i'd urge you to go check out all the other stuff so display now i'm a bit of an audio video snob i know this is the clips you can buy these at best buy this is a lcd tv um i've done plasma i've done oled in garages and unfortunately the glare just it becomes unwatchable or unusable uh plus this isn't a critical listening it's also not a critical viewing environment i mainly wanted it here for the symmetry of it because it looks cool uh this is a thousand dollar sony uh x 900 h uh and then a cinema 600 uh clips uh a sound bar the hardest part of the setup was getting the darn sound bar mounted so you don't see anything so mike has to cut in boxes go back and watch us argue over whether it needed a trim plate or not he won i lost but even behind the tv all the trim pieces everything all the detail is exactly we treated this mike and i traded this as if it was our garage uh and maybe even a little better than our garage but this 65-inch display uh is a smart tv so you know you're gonna watch netflix and hulu and and youtube tv and anything else that you might want to watch out here will play through the sound bar and the subwoofers wireless which is over here near the you know the stainless shelving but pretty simple setup um lcd not a huge fan of but um you know it's it's a better technology for a garage like this so the switch tracks is super simple if you don't have any things like a step and you don't have to do any fabrication you just simply lay out the floor and you cut the edges you can use a circular saw a table saw a floor tile cutter a carpet tile cutter you can use pretty much any jigsaw if you wanted to but when you have something like a step and you don't want to just leave this had just a regular old piece of pine that even if painted was going to get dirty off him and so i asked mike what could you do here uh and so he said well what we can do is we can get a 90 and um and then we can simply uh add some some wood screws uh and so what he did is he spaced out using some plywood uh to give us a flat sort of flush 90 because the threshold or i'm sorry the tread uh was was poking out and so you can see here we decided to just paint the backsplash here and just probably have a manual touch that up once every once a year or so but i think this turned out really great to where we have nice smooth transition with the switch tracks again you will not see any dirt in here ever no matter how dirty it is imagine you have to have three quarter inches thick of dirt which would be a wheelbarrow full of dirt in order to see it and you can vacuum it or blow it out whenever you wanted to but i thought i'd mention that because i thought that was pretty cool so the lift this is my very first but in 2016 first time i went to sema i wanted to find a lift and i walked on this booth and i found this company i immediately fell in love with it's a company called noosebaum and they're out of germany they now have a production facility in north carolina and um when we decided to do this garage i knew this would be the first version of lyft that we did or this this lift that we did we knew we were limited with nine foot ceilings i knew i wanted a scissor lift i knew that we wouldn't be able to cut the floor just it's just not practical for this application oh so we wanted to figure out a way to get new spawn become a noose bomb dealer uh be able to offer the mid-rise which is this lift and then offer the full rise which will be a series at oghq where we install the full rise lift this one goes up to 40 inches tall we have our control box here now remember uh we had to get hydraulic lines over here and so if you go back and watch the series how we kind of think through how to do this we actually have those one last piece that's coming tomorrow morning mike and i are taking a flight out tomorrow not today because we're waiting on a new channel i'll show you that in a second but the new spawn control units here it's a 240 volt so we put a 20 amp 240 volt connection and then we got lucky and that the stainless matches all the other stainless we got smart and that we had them custom paint and custom make ramps which will also be available uh through obsessed garage but we wanted to approach ramps so you could put lowered cars on this but this lift hydraulic takes about 20 seconds to reach full height has galvanized tread wear on the top which i think kind of fits the theme and that we can have it custom painted in any color you want this one costs about four thousand dollars and uh holds uh seven thousand pounds you also have the ability to extend the ramps out for cars like a bmw m5 or like the x5 that a manual has uh and then of course the approach ramps are designed for lowered cars for m3s and 911s and vipers and any car that's lowered so that way you can get a block under the pinch welds or under the jack point and be able to get the car comfortably on the lift the other nice thing about the way that the setup for this location uh 98 of the time is just gonna be parking on this uh and so having the ramps uh makes the transition much smoother uh cutting the foundation of the house or cutting the the concrete is obviously preferred and we have templates to do that but this lift is not really designed for that this is designed to be a semi-portable lift this is called the sprinter 7 and once again you know it normally comes in blue but we painted it custom black and left the galvanized shreds we can paint this whatever color you want as well but i think this turned out extremely well for you know it's a it's uh about twice the cost of a lot of the chinese-made lists but this is a german-built german-engineered sort of engineering marvel it's really pretty incredible in comparison to some of the other quality products you see out there so that's a wrap uh six days of uh average of 12 hour days for five of us thanks to mike mike bryce and kyle we all put in time thanks to um emmanuel for uh for buying stuff in our store that's how he won this garage i bought some bought some stuff and we'll probably do another one of these garage giveaways here soon i'm talking bryson into letting me do this on december 15th uh on doing another giveaway where basically what happens is we sell some merchandise some cool stuff in the obsessed garage store at upsgarage.com and hope that people buy it in order to help me finance projects like this but i don't know you tell me in the comments i think this turned out pretty gosh darn awesome and i'm really proud of it like i said this is uh there's a lot of blood sweat tears thought and hopes and dreams all in one spot and i hope they enjoy this it's uh it's really pretty pretty darn cool so anyway thanks for your support thanks for watching make sure to check out the other parts of the series if you're just watching this we have hours and hours of footage six different episodes and i'll probably do a seventh or eighth episode i guess you can call it going through all the costs of what this would cost if you're going to do something like this but i think we can say that uh if not the best uh certainly one of the best two-car uh normal uh this is a 3000 square foot home in chesapeake virginia uh one of the nicest best-built most attention to detail uh two-car garages on the planet so thanks for watching as always stay tuned for more crazy this is the start of i think many many garages that that we're going to get into in the future as we find more products we'll be sure to make sure you know about them and when we're doing these giveaways i hope you continue to continue to participate thanks for watching catch you soon [Music] you
