Anthony Hospital in nearby Crown Point was left in the yard doctors in the emergency department treated the baby and confirmed that other than a sunburn the infant was in good health the newborn girl was soon nicknamed the miracle baby infant Jane Doe she was born at full-term and was described as a Caucasian with brownish-blond hair her age could not be confirmed though doctors say the placenta and umbilical cord suggest that she was a newborn in the state of Indiana there are laws that allow individuals who want to abandon a baby to do so at a fire station a police station or another public area when there's an expectation that the child will be found quickly without any consequences this would make it difficult to find the baby's mother if she chose to remain anonymous after a few days Sheriff John bunwich confirmed that the police were able to locate the mother who is a local teenager the Lake County Sheriff's Department would not provide any more details because the biological mother is underage the police say it was a small miracle that Alicia was there just at the right time to hear the baby and was able to find her in the bushes a sheriff bud Kidd said had lobbed not been outside in the yard at the time she was this story could have a far more tragic ending after being released from the hospital the infant was transferred to a foster care facility and her case is now under further investigation by the Indiana Department of Child Services the nine-year-old guardian angel is being hailed as a hero in her community and thanks to the story going viral nationwide Alysia chose to follow her gut instincts which allowed her to help save a tiny new life thank you for watching this fantastic story please tap one of the two videos on your screen for another amazing extreme trench
