hi guys this is my mega review of 8 by 32 binoculars born out of obsession to find the best binoculars I queued for under 300 pounds actually started off with eight by thirty twos and ten by thirty twos but as I very quickly discovered the tens other they've got bit more zoom that twenty percent more zoomed in but they're also 20 percent worse in brightness and kinetic aberration basically everything gets 20% worse as well as it's 20 percent zoomed in so I think this price point and for what I've got to spend I'd rather have a really sharp eight times one so I've just gone with the eight times here to make it simple for the review so I actually started off buying at this end and work my way up until eventually I got to this end and you'll see that price does have a pretty solid bearing on performance although at the same price point you can get better there are better options and worse options so hopefully I'll help you through that so on this end you've got the celestron nature DX the optic ron discovery again all eight by 32s except this one which is a 30 so i'll just discover the means celestron nature DX optic Ron discovery that one's the celestron traveler vortex Diamondback Hulk endurance Edie this is the first Edie one Kestrel Kestrel is also a needy Merlin Merlin is these are Viking and Kestrel are almost the same binocular except this one has an extra IDI amin's but they are both Edie and then we've got the optic Ron this one's got a really long name optic on optic Ron traveler BG AED and that one is obviously D as well and then we've got the mark 7 that's an 8 by 30 everything else is 32 so we've got the Nikon Monarch 7 ok so I'll walk you through as I made my decision hopefully that will with a narrative of the review basically starts pretty much in quality order for price so we've got the celestron nature DX ones here if you've never tried a modern binocular you'd probably think this was pretty good my dad got this model in fact for the money they are decent oh by the way they're all I just get some specs up here as well so this one has a sorry 7.4 degree field of view which is not bad it's actually pretty wide compared to a lot of binoculars but the trouble is I've now seen what really wide looks like they are face corrected there is a decently bright image on them the focus wheel is soft but very nice good twisting eye cuts very solid it does feel like a really good solid product actually however as I've gone up the quality range these get blown out the water by everything else but for the money a little tripod adapter there to feel solid in the hands look nice but optically they're going to be blown up the water very quickly these are abouts I think they go for a hundred pounds so strong nature yeah I got these for 110 but you can't get them as low as 80 on a really good deal but if you've only got hundred pounds to spend that's basically what you're gonna get and if you don't look any further then you'll probably be pretty happy with those but I'll move swiftly on because I did these were amazingly well reviewed these are the optic Ron discoveries field seven and a half degrees which is pretty wide I very quickly went to wanting a wide binocular the flip-down covers pretty standard but well very small like very smaller they forget to the weight on these optic on discovery 391 grams so the pretty damn light but I thing I didn't like straightaway tiny tiny eyecups compared to all the other thirty twos see if I compare it to something like the Diamondbacks here which I did straightaway if you look at the eye cups there okay oh if I compare them to the Diamondbacks there you can see much much smaller eye cups and you feel that straightaways you put them on it kind of feels almost uncomfortable it doesn't have that side feel like when you pick something like this up it feels absolutely saw it especially but like the Vikings as well they feel super solid in your hand this feels a bit toy like although that is obviously due to the size in the weight however once you get up to it's much more expensive brother which we'll go through up here and they increase the iCub size so wasn't usually fond of that optically amazing like very very good for the price point again doctor adjustments focus wheel kind of feels now I've tried the higher up one's kind of feels a little bit sloppy there's a little bit of play there basically these ones I wrote off pretty quickly I put not to my eyes so this is my experience of using these but what to my eyes till the eye cuts are a bit small it was almost hard to concentrate on the image because they they were so small and hard to so aligned you get that some of the forums called it kidney being which is those sort of shadows that sort of waft interview so I did get a bit of that and very quickly dismiss these optically very good if you can get on with them okay but they feel fantastic even compared to these are around about 250 pounds these you can get for less than a hundred these feel better quality than these buy cups and also if you look at the the eye cups they're they feel but more solid I've just realized these are actually the tens I've got the eight over there but it's there they're exactly the same build I've just put the weights down the other side of the room that's the focus wheels are it's just not as good so I pretty much dismissed dismissed the optic Ron of hand okay next up is the celestron trail seeker now these again face coated seven-point-eight field of view so a bit wide and considerably wider than these I think they're a little bit yeah a little bit wider than the optic runs so seven point eight you can see the additional field of view again like the other Sylvester ones good solid eye clubs good big meaty solid eye cups magnesium body actually just because I'm just doing this review just talking it straight through I've got a massive spreadsheet that I've put together absolutely everything about these binoculars the body the shells the optics base coating all that kind of stuff I probably put a link to this on Google and Google Drive or something so that you can have that so when you're going through this if I miss anything like what was it made of then you can use that but say these are a magnesium body which is really good for the price these are two hundred pounds that is everything's gonna be in pounds for some in the UK but it's a really good solid feel to it much lighter than these fine up the way to these 453 grams so really nice light weight for a thirty two mil binocular again feel the focus wheel smoother much smoother than smoother than the initial celestron but really nice feel to it the main problem with these is these two and specifically the hawk so this is the vortex Diamondback and the Hulk endurance IDI this is the same price in fact the hawk is slightly cheaper actually Hawk endurance yep the whole conjoin see is 189 so about 190 Diamondbacks about 185 i prefer both of these to these and i'll tell you why so these decent sharpness decent field of view all that kind of stuff however and here's what my brain started to explode the Diamondbacks have a really nice wide field of view if I go to the Diamondbacks here the eights have 8.1 degree field of view so once you go about it really does change things like this seems to be like a magic number in linear that's 143 meters so at a thousand meters you would see 143 meter span so the Diamondbacks have a really good field of view they're done back to dielectric co2 which means there's an extra layer of coating on the the prisms which makes it brighter so when they're not dielectric coated generally they use coatings which have a sort of 96% light transmission so you lose about 4% of the light once you get to dielectric okay once you go to dielectric you lose less than 1% of the light so that that does make a difference although in bright lights you don't you don't really see it you only really see it when it gets really dark so it's not really a deal breaker as I went on I realized the IDI if I could have one or the other the hawk and the Diamondback this is dielectric this is Eadie without dielectric the IDI is lens now it could be different on other binoculars but on the binoculars I've got here in front of me all the IDI ones have clear images then the non IDI ones not just chromatic aberration but they seem to be sharper better contrast better colors yeah that could also be because I should go to either you get better optics in general cause you pay more money but that's the way I found it so I moved on from the restaurant trail secret to these know these two I spent ages going over these are the ones I had initially I was just going backwards and forwards though I've spent hours with these on I live on the beach side I was on the cliff top just looking out to sea looking down at the beach looking at signs just trying to figure out which I liked these are a wide field of view these are a narrow field of view but they've got edy lens and they are much sharper initially I tried to convince myself that it wasn't much but it is noticeable every time you use them like they are sharper quality why is that both really good the hopes have eh but they also have extra weight so the diamondbacks there i get the don't have extra 439 grams and the Hawks are 539 so about hundred grams more but they do feel solid more solid than those like these feel like incredibly good quality think it but it will flip down I cut from the inside which does look cooler but it is actually trickier to use worth noting that the objective lens is pretty close to the front there like less than five mil of clearance so really is right at the front I mean it does seem to help the optics but it's pretty vulnerable it tells you what you can use it for well warranty wise I'll put it in the spreadsheet but I'll make special mentions these two have an amazing warranty both of them have this no-fault warranty so if you're in the US then it's if you drop them bash them whatever happens their cupboard full life so once you buy these you own them forever and they'll always be fixed as long as the company exists in the UK it's worth pointing out and I didn't know this till the very last second the Diamondbacks in the UK you have to buy through an authorized dealer I think that's true of the Hawks as well so in the UK with any of the warranties you have to buy through authorized dealers in the US when you do this no fall warranty it seems like you can buy from anywhere in fact the vortex is actually say you can buy it from anywhere doesn't matter you don't even need a receipt as long as you're holding the product in your hand your cupboard in the UK it's much more finicky but you still get the right to just check it's an authorised dealer so back to these both of them really good quality mean you can always it's like bolt-action rifle type stuff like really nice in the focus wheel is on the diopter and the the main focus will just really smoothies like these are one of the best quality ones here in fact they may almost be my favorite sometimes of just soy build quality but actually no maybe that's putting it a bit strongly but because some of the others have equal but certainly ups up to this point when I tried them because up to point ahead and try Veni further up the line they blow everything else away further down the line the Diamondbacks very good quality but still just a touch less many due to the play in the focus wheel just a little bit of play like between there and there you seem to focus you go past the point and when you come back it doesn't bite straight away it loses about four mil it may not sound like a big deal but if you're doing it all the time it just doesn't have that lovely feel of the say the hawk or the kestrels have really nice in fact everyone from this point onwards has nice focus wheels but the hawk from here down has by far the best focus wheel I cut some Diamondback really good and solid in fact possibly better she takes a fair bit of hand strength to thinking about it you can do it once but initially when you just you think oh that's a that's a very solidly built thing again it's got diopter adjustment on it what I really loved about these was the wide field of view and also almost more than any of these here you can stick one your eyes in almost any orientation and you don't get any shadows across your vision so a really good reliable one if you just want to like put these to your face and not have to worry about you know moving them around or or learning how to use them these are absolutely foolproof in fact these went out of my consideration before these for that reason because they have a wide field of view and they're bulletproof in terms of just sticking up to your face and just being able to look at something straight away plane in the sky bag done with the Hawks or all say the obstacles down here definitely you might have needed a bit of work but for that reason I really like these and it was the eight point one eight point one field of view up to this point it's just hard to it's hard to explain how a good field of view is after after a few minutes if you put muck to your eyes say with the Endurance's if you're looking at a bird you probably want these at this point but with the Diamondbacks if you like Vista much better so up to this point I would say neither of these win outs against each other but these were the first two actually considered keeping the Diamondbacks slightly less sharp but much better field of view the Hawks noticeably sharper but not night-and-day sharper but heavier and less field of view and that brought me to the solution the Viking Kestrel now these have both dielectric and edy glass so really good and they have a hundred and thirty six metre field of view at 1,000 meters which is a seven point eight slightly less than the Diamondbacks but not quite as restrictive as the Hawks if I go to the Hawks the Hawks have a seven point four degree field of view which is 129 meters not very noticeable it's hard to explain from numbers but the Diamondback for me is much wider the Kestrel which is at a hundred and thirty six meters seven point eight it's a good compromise if you haven't seen a wider field of view up to this point the Kestrel is a great one to go for in fact these 185 these 189 and these are two hundred at this price point get the Kestrel the Kestrel out of these three combines the best elements of the Diamondback the best elements of the endurance and the focus wheel is amazing it's solid metal you can see it's got that sort of I'm not sure idea but that sort of diamond pattern on it really solid Viking are actually an optics company they repair all the other binoculars for Swarovski and Zeiss and nickel and they they can repair everyone else's binoculars in fact I think they said that for certain brands have been ocular they're the only people to repair it because they bought all the parts in stock so they've really no optics as you can see they haven't put as much into the style I think because they're not a design company but where it counts they've really put it in like that you can see the dope to focus wheel it's got that diamond pattern metal focus wheel here is metal everything previous to this is being the plastic so the metal focus wheel is really nice really smooth eyecups big solid chunky just as good as either of these flip down eye colors and everything yeah the objectives nicely recessed in there I'd say more than five mil actually I'd say that's probably 10 mil from right to the tip to where the objective is that's probably 10 mil so at 200 pounds the Viking Kestrel is definitely the winner like no question soon as I saw this I thought well that's it if you go from this back to the endurance you'll notice that you're looking through a tunnel and you won't like it and also if you go back to the Diamondback although in the brilliant five minutes ago now you're thinking it looks dull and the colors look off and that's actually a theme as you go up the range once you stop at the point you you've got the money for you'll be happy with what you've got if you see the next one up suddenly what you just looked at will seem terrible so the Diamondbacks look absolutely fantastic but as soon as you tried the hook you'll suddenly realise the colors are off and it's not a shock and saying try the Viking you'll realise cut it off so yeah at this price point try the Kestrel but Viking threw in a slight curve ball they've got the Viking Merlin which is 39 pounds more expensive and you don't have a damn hard task figuring out why if you didn't find them up which I did ok so going down these they have both the same field of view actually I'll just read out the specs so both of them have a 7.8 degree field of view a hundred 37 meters is the width of the field both 4 millimetre exit pupil which is obviously the same Freddy - 32 mm 8 times both dielectric coated both face corrected both edie both winning 40 grams of each other that the Merlin is 509 actually it's very the Castros 509 and the Merlin is about 40 grams more than that the difference is and this is what I found out when I called them and they don't list this on the website which is bizarre because why would anyone buy this one it has an extra IDI element in it and you can see it they've really should have stepped on the specs if you look at the design similar you can see the Merlin's got an extra bit of grip so you can see there tried to make it look slightly more swanky slightly different eyecups see if there's a difference Carol no exactly the same fifteen point six millimeters I reef so it's just a different design in the cup so you've got the cups there I should point out obviously I don't wear glasses so everything changes when you wear glasses my dad wears glasses and I've discovered that if you do a lot of what I'm saying may not apply to you because it seems the glasses do a whole lot to mess up the optics and also feel the view doesn't seem to count for as much because you can't get your eye right in there to make the benefits of it maybe you solve it but soon okay so there we go there's the Merlin so you different my cup design but works just as well but you can really see the difference between these two initially it's slightly subtle you think oh they do look slightly better if you're doing birding which i'm not i'm generally just doing this for travel purposes it's like looking at a nice vista sort of making it ships i live on the beach so that kind of thing basically my purposes is just general looking at stuff just have a nice binocular to go traveling with but if you're doing birding the Merlin is substantially better and because if you're looking at one object there was a crow on the wall and I look with Kestrel Kestrel brilliant optic I look with the Merlin it was unbelievable like really impressive the sharpness and the color in that that central portion was it was really incredible the extra IDI element just seems to take out that edge blur and just really crisp in things up and also the colors seem to be a slightly stronger if you're looking at our Vista you may not notice the difference as much but if you're looking at birding that then the Merlin is really decent in fact so this is 200 and this is 239 it depends how you are for money but I kind of think for the difference in price of extra 40 quid I'd have them Erland possibly just because I couldn't stand the fact that no 40 quid or I could've had a better binocular it's exactly the same just with a better lens in it but that would be my choice I'd go with the Merlin at this point then what change for me is my brother gave me an extra 50 quid and that brought me on to these and this was on a deal these are the ones that I really wanted I knew I shouldn't have them and probably still shouldn't but better a lot better this is the Nick come on Monica 7 it's an 8 by 30 so 2 millimeters less objective size objective lens probably if you're watching this you know all about what the differences of the objective lens is in the lens at the front probably should have mentioned that but pretty nice little eye cups at the front there rubber armored the body is a polycarb fiberglass-reinforced really good sturdy in America these have an amazing no-fault warranty for life I thinks because of hunting I think the American market expects it I wish we did so you get like a lifetime no-fault drop it it's fine warranty in the UK really annoyingly you don't get that you get a 10-year warranty which is really a five-year warranty because for five years you get parts and labor for the next five years you only get parts God knows how much labor costs but that's more of a by-the-by I was strongly recommended and I think it's true there was a guy in a forum on the birding forum who said don't buy your binoculars by the warranty buy it buy what you like because if you drop them you can spend the 50 quid my Viking will fix your binoculars for 50 quid if you're knocking about the blind for example so I think considering how I'm going to use them the ones you like and then figure out the warranty later so these ones have the widest field of view 8.3 degrees put it into a linear field of view I think that's one four five it is one four five it's just stunning like you pick these up and you think no no no the rest I mean but none of the rest I'm just gonna have these these are amazing the eye cups feel as you'd expect just as solid as the rest focus we all feels really nice very light actually that's why these ones you pay more these are three hundred and nine I actually got them on an offer from Jessup's which may still be on for 270 and then I quit code them because Jessup's have quit code I'm not sure that's in the US as well but that's like a cash back thing and I got another five quid off so I got these for like 265 still more than the 239 of these but it's a huge step up in quality I mean it blows absolutely all these away in terms of clarity like hands hands down no question these are edy dielectric actually they don't say dielectric because yes they do there edy dielectric but they also have nikons special source so Nippon have a whole load of coatings and processes that go through they don't tell you what they are if you see any of their like product videos they will tell you that there aren't there is like something special going on with their lenses as the property is with some of the others but whatever they've done to these makes them look unbelievable they're brighter that all of the thirty twos I've just mentioned even though there's only a thirty objective lens like noticeably brighter so like if you're using it in dusk or in the dark you really notice it in fact because there are 32 sorry a 13 or 32 and all the brightness is done with the coatings I think you actually notice a bit in the daytime as well in the shadow detail and things but just absolutely stunning so I'll go through the details of these because I'm pretty sure these are the winners however let's just go through so 30 millimeter objective lens one forty-five degree field of view that's eight point three degrees three point eight X 3.75 exit pupil which is 30 divided by eight that's how you figure exit pupil if you don't know someone explain that to me fully multi-coated as all of these are if you're buying binoculars fully multi-coated and face face coated or phase adjusted is something essential which all of these have right down to these we've got gas filling nitrogen they're all tube in fact all of these are waterproof it was one of my prerequisites for all of these they're all waterproof but so are these minimum focus 2 metres weight to 435 that makes a huge difference I want to travel with these and also I travel them on my hip they're super light you might go to sell like these ones so really good one thing I will say and I it's the first thing that I notice my tried them first of all I didn't like these I was just gonna go back to the Merlin's I put them on and I noticed again what somebody called kidney beating which is quite a nice name for it which is the flashes of black that come across which i think is to do with your IPD alignment and basically just getting them adjusted on your face and yeah I I really couldn't get on with them straight away because like the Merlin's you've got your face back done dine backs the same all the rest of them except for the optic Ron's discoveries down here pretty much to put on your face when you're good these were tricky which initially just put me off I just thought can't get and put them down try something else try them again a bit later got a bit better but still kind of spoiling the experience on one of the birding forum is much more experienced person said that actually it's just practice getting in the lines on your face is just practice absolutely right so glad you said that because I tried that afternoon by the evening of that day so 24 hours pretty much from buying them to I could just put them on their face and they were perfect Lyons and I didn't get any of that flashing so I think just just getting the knack of getting the IPD adjusted but once I did these are awesome I basically just decided today I think that these are probably the ones I'm going to keep I have in the back of my mind perhaps these but I think it's gonna be these and I'll explain the differences in a second but these are absolutely epic the field curvature is so much less and if feel temperature is where the curve of the focus means that only a certain amount of the image is in focus so if you've got a circle of focus the bit in the middle is always in focus if the bacalao is even functional and then as you go out you might lose a bit of focus partially due to the optical partially due to the point of focus is on a curve so at the edge the bits will be out of focus these have such a flat field of focus compared to these I'm sure if you went crazy UPS or some Swarovski's or something I probably find that they have even flatter but if you look at the enormous field of view and it is enormous 145 meters most of it's in focus and when you look out over to see it boats and things you suddenly realize that your eyes relax and it's just easier to see the image and that makes all the difference so yeah at this price point at the price point to 300 pounds which is these two these these guys are the top top ones these are amazing I'll go through these as well these are the I'm gonna look at the name because they're really named optic on optic Ron traveller BG AED okay so these sorry these have reasonable body it doesn't feel quite as creamy much you know that's probably unfair no should I don't think I don't think it is they feel solid and they feel solid enough but at this price point compared to the necrons or especially things like the Merlin's or the Hawks feel like they put like a lot of work into the body but that sort of stuff probably quickly drops away when you put into your eyes but it's very small very light if I go for the weight here 451 grams so and that's heavier than this but these are 435 but you don't notice it in the hand obviously it's just the same weight class I would say focus wheel pretty smooth nice sort of firm feel to it so does it feel like it's good gonna wobble or anything much better focused than the one on the discovery but it would be considering it's literally double the price iCup solid discovery nice big eye cups we should mention these things my shields they are awesome whichever ones are these you get I would highly recommend the eye shields it's a bit of rubber now you can find them at Amazon and other places but you can flip them down like that use them as a normal binocular and then flip them up and what it does is it covers that bit there to the side of your eye and so it blocks out external light whichever ones of these you get this will make it seem like a much better binocular especially if you don't get a wide-angle binocular because without the wide-angle to expand your field of view you'll find your eye tracking off to the sides maybe if you're an experienced we're not going to use you you're more tunnel vision but you'll find your eyes kind of wandering out to the sides whereas with this your focus sort of downrange as it were down the binocular but really good these are 25 clinical from Amazon for two pairs but they do come with a warranty that lasts for life so if you lose them or break them or whatever they'll give you a new set and you think you can't get them cheapest 17 or even 15 pounds some places but just that you know that doesn't come with the binocular doesn't come with the necrons either I was just a be testing these today so yeah focus wheel nice and side the IPD adjustment again nice aside I think yep the middle comes out and it's got a tripod adapter as does the Nikon and there we go tripod tripod the moment I've try put it up to the kestrels do diamondbacks don't believe no hoax do and Suster ons do and opt groans don't so by and large they have tripod adapters but at this range doctrines and the net cons do have tripod adapters the image in these really nice looking through these I basically got to a point of almost hallucinating between the neck ons and the optical travellers going backwards and forwards because they're both really good they're both awesome binoculars when you're going for something like hawks and the Diamondbacks it's not difficult to see the difference these are narrow and sharp these are less sharp and wide it's not difficult to see the difference it's just difficult to see what what is it you want between the two pence why smoke up to the kestrels in the moments but with these they're almost the same these have an eight point two degree field of view the optic ron's the nickel ons have an eight point three a bit more but not night and day more you definitely notice it so when it was going backwards and forwards I did prefer the wide field of view of the necrons or why do I feel the view of their cons but the optic ons had a decently wide field of view to put it in the same class in category both have dielectric now this is the exception with the dielectric they call it a racist coating but if you look into our way six coating is it's a dielectric it's just their special name for it 99% kind of transmission all that kind of stuff so both edy glass both face coated and both seem to have their own special source in terms of doing the optics and the coatings and things the main differences between them and this is what I concluded after literally I went up today for about four hours just going backwards and forwards backwards and forwards between the two and it took four hours to really get a hang of it so that explains that the how close or not to say how close they are but how good they both are is basically the conclusion that came to I spent almost all the testing time looking straight at objects so I would look at flagpole which is in the distance which again in the center of the image about all that kind of stuff when I did that they were both really close it was just so hard to choose between them eventually I figured out the optic runs in the red and the yellow mainly that's possibly over the spectrum but really only noticeable in the red and yellows have just a bit more color saturation so looking at a red flag literally one two one two and again it's a subtle difference like it took me a while to get it but after a while you do get it and you're like yes these do have slightly better color saturation and I started to think that the obvious ones were actually better until somebody walked past and said what are those I gave him a try you tried the mahdis in the necrons a better I thought I just looked out over the sea like he did and I realized field capture and sharpness if you're looking at one object right in the center of the view it's hard to tell the difference if you just do as you would do like you could hold a knee will touch see you notice the Nick ones have a bigger shop area in them like it's it's it's dramatically better it's also why I think with the necrons I found my eyes relaxing more just because there was just much more in focus your eyes just sort of relaxed and they just it looks like you taking your vision and being thrown forward which is always the feeling I was looking for rather than looking through a telescope well that's sort of fair that's a circular field of view you just feel like you've been sort of thrown forward into distance and you can kind of look around where's with the optic ron's the middle is in focus but actually the rest of it is I think due to field coach again where the middle bit is in focus and the focus points are then different towards the edge of the lens optic Ron's have seemingly a more dramatic field curvature to them to the Nichols not bad by any point at any margin like compared to everything else the optic ronzo just blow the doors off amazing compared to the neck on just seem to have something incredibly special about them also to contrast the necrons are staggering when you know count there with the sea even though it's slightly foggy and slightly cloudy the necrons seem to just bring everything into like pin sharp focus you can it's not just a blue mulch you can see all the crests of the waves everything suddenly looks really sharp like you've suddenly switched on for knme-tv 1080p used to look brilliant then switched on for caiman oh okay that's what everyone's talking about that's what the necrons do that's basically I think I'm gonna go to go with the Nick Hans I'm going to do a little bit more even testing so this is as far as I've got today but I can't see at the moment that I'm going to go for the optic runs however as you can see by my hesitancy you couldn't really go wrong with either of these like I say the bit I'll be testing probably I'll go up the evening and tonight to test these in a lower light as well because I tested the nickel ons and low light but not the otter Cron's but the main trick will be do I prefer the very slight color saturation increase on the optic ron's or do I prefer the field flatness and sharpness and ease of use of inner cones and even saying it like it's the neck ons so in summary if you have your top head money to spend go with the nickels nickel monix 7 8 by 30 they're fantastic I feel the view sharp edy glass dielectric coating the common special sauce that seems to increase field flatness and contrast and also more than the other seems to have a really good 3d feel to them I think that's probably the edge sharpness that gives you that sort of 3-dimensional feel to what you're looking at but just blow the doors off amazing if you use them give it 24 hours just to get used to them but after that I think you'll find them amazing optical traveller edy again probably my second choice at the sort of 300 pound mark but maybe your personal preference will be different they're so close that you could probably try these both of you down for them still very wide field-of-view slightly less slightly more field curvature but excellent if you hadn't seen this and the colors are better in fact if you were going birding perhaps the fact that they're about shopping in centuries the necrons and the colors are slightly stronger maybe if you're burning maybe that would be something appeal to you more so I think you should probably a be test these yourself okay at the 200 pound price point I would sort of spent how why do you think your price point is but these are 185 that's right the Diamondbacks a 185 Durance is a 190 the kestrels are 200 and the merlyn's are 239 I can a lot these all in together because they're of a similar price point I would say dongbaek's and Hawkes both the compromise Hulk endurance both the compromise these are wide these are sharp I think my brain exploded when I realized I just wanted both and I couldn't compromise so basically for this kind of money get the Kestrel 200 pounds it's 15 quid more than dying back and only 10 will indeed hawk insurance get the kestrels they're better they're as good as the time back in field of view nearly just a smidgen off because these are 7.8 and these are eight point eight point seven point eight and eight point one however the shot miss will win you over definitely I absolutely love field of you as you can see as I've gone up a confer field of view but the sharpness will you know it's just much better if it's sort of 200 pound point price points you wanted to just jump up to the merlyn's at two three nine it is worth it so make that what you will although if you get an amazing deal on the nickens it's sort of 265 you're almost there so and the necrons blow these underwater totally better in every regard okay so going down the optical discoveries are 150 these are 200 actually sorry should point it out I basically discounted their celeste Ron's these are the same price point as the kestrels and the kestrels perhaps reunited them like just destroy them the castle is a sharper better contrast the field of view is nice the eye caps a nice focus wheel is nice at 200 pounds the kestrels absolutely annihilated Celeste Ron's so these are the Celeste Ron's trail seekers between those and the kestrels no competition whatsoever get the kestrels these are 150 these optical optical on Discovery's field of view 7.5 which until like range was half decent but yeah I didn't really like these at all I mean I guess they're cheaper than all the others and they're very light but I don't like the tiny eye cups a slightly Wiggly focus wheel I think if I had a hundred and fifty quid spent I would just wait until I can afford 50 quid more for the kestrels yeah optically good but if they don't feel nice in your face and it's kind of pointless and it's left Ron's restaurant and it should be X at this price point they're looking to have really any competition celestron HDX feels remarkably good for its price point I mean you can get these as low as if you get the show got the name for them here they're called tree of life they made these in a tree of life special edition which had the same specs and I just got my dad some for Father's Day for 80 quid so like ridiculously cheaper field of view is here we go the field of view 7.4 so less than less than the others but for the price it's it's it's very decent face coated steel face coated waterproof nitrogen-filled good sort of build quality and bizarrely a lifetime warranty even in the UK I say bizarrely because the trail seekers have a 10 year warranty half the price lifetime warranty is oh but so anyway great for the money so hopefully that was ok and I actually do professional reviews for computer magazines but it's all writing don't really have a much experience in front of the camera oh I didn't do any of my background my background is in computational imagery so I don't have a lot of experience with hands-on optics but my background is computational imagery and so I've got a pretty good eye for what makes a good image and also as you can possibly tell from the enormous spreadsheet in the back type well 15 pairs of binoculars to try them all out slightly obsessive tendency for quality so hopefully that's helpful I might try and do some of these individually for reviews and I hope that was clear
