all right brother three four three me [Music] [Music] so what's going on guys welcome back to pfi speed this week we're just making some power that escalade was wicked and now my buddy john jacobs is here with his mustang and you guys have seen him fly before seen a seven second pass out of it um we've got the dominator on it and the other day he tried a couple more degrees of timing at the track and it picked up some mile an hour so we want to put on the dyno we want to optimize it and see how far it can go so he's about to back it in now he just drove it here of course this is a street car and he's going to back it in and we're going to strap it down and we're going to see what this thing will do pretty excited oh yeah this thing is awesome you cannot even tell until he folds the plate up and puts the chute in truly one of my favorites [Music] one of these days i'll get him to do a race week perfect that's awesome all right back here again back here again guess who's back back again i look forward to it so hood up like it was last time and i don't think there's anything to worry about because it's going to bounce out that way yeah or we can drop it down so it blows out the top and doesn't break to shake off anything i don't know what you think um either way i mean we could try a small one just so much air that comes out does come out pretty rockstar but all right just a wee the pole kick the key off for me because we put one new plug in it so i can read the plug that's the whole point of everything we're trying to do today we are baselining timing today trying to see where the power is making sure it's all there okay so just the second you get to the end kill the key for me okay so keel the key and that'll be okay kill the key throw the chute okay don't turn me you one thing we might have to work on for him that he's like it bugs the crap out of me you guys gotta fix that today got it all right i like that dash setup on this one i love it that's a nice clean layout yeah i like it you like it yeah let me zoom in there for you a nice bright layout yeah it's super pretty that's awesome i like it so all right let's go man you called that it just it's motoring down he called that right on the dot what to make 1502 i might have let out a little early it was real violent in here oh it moved yeah what a ride oh it spun and the rear ends it looked like it moved over like six inches it was moving it felt violent all right well we can pull that plug and check that out yeah that's why i clicked it off right away so you guys would have it well i don't know who got this exhaust all hot up here and everything yeah i'll be honest i think i clicked out a little early a little i wasn't sure like i want to be on the game you know brisks are a little harder to read yeah baby purple and then i've got blue up there is what i see 1502 it's violent that was fun right now yep so you guys said it spun real crazy yeah drive shaft speed went out of control which one's the drive shaft speed this one oh yeah the blue is that blue yeah the one that went up see downey so it's a thousand rpm early should go 85 86 right i hit the limiter at 87 last sunday twice okay oops i don't know if it's making power up there but it hit but you hit it so brent you've got back to two degrees that it had in it at the track we've got a fresh plug in it we got fresh plug in it hey it lived at the track so we got a fresh plug in it so we can compare those two plugs and i just gotta curl up and hang it you gotta yeah it's longer put the big girl panties on hang it out there really fast was it vibrating pretty bad at first coming into it yeah i think a lot of that was tire though yeah there's 25 psi and that's probably a good number right on cool all right let's party again okay so they got the little bit of timing in it this is what he had the other day when he picked up some allen hour at the track so we're gonna see what that does [Music] just remember to click the key at the end all right hold on here we go 49. so oh my gosh that was good yeah 1506 that was the 8500 it felt awesome [Music] all right what are we seeing they look different at least oh yeah oh man that's definitely a lot more colory a lot more heat in it i feel like it's way down around here on this one it could be right there yeah that's kind of like in the band but it could be yeah whereas rainbowed it could just show color what material because of what material the plug's made of yeah so it just shows you know a different color can you see that one real quick yeah okay i think this one's here and i think this one's here so i'm moving farther up it looks like that's hard to tell it really is because all right because it almost looks like it could just be where these heat like it could be like you're saying but it could be that width of heat see how there's rainbowed like you held a torch to it that's brisk baby just remember the key off for me i got you made a couple little changes see how they do hold on tight okay we're ready let's go [Music] 15 31. [Music] just a mustang c car street car street car couple seats [Music] how'd that one look it felt really good it has less bumps in it it felt really good yeah it seemed a little less violent out here actually [Music] these things [Music] [Music] i can see it on that one right before the bend see it would be here hmm what do we got let me look the waves in the rpm or boost is that boost yeah all right rpm so those waves match the throttle waves yeah and you were you were mounted right i just pushed my hook to the floor yeah that's about a three percent drop between 100 down to there back up but every time it does it it follows in the rpm force and that goes from 197 197 so i think there might be something going on there but it's three percent really that much i mean it is something to look at yeah that's what we were talking about blowing it no blowing trying to push the blade that's what we were talking about it isn't like perfectly flat and the booth doesn't come perfectly straight in there it'll try i've seen them strip the gears off the ls ones and these do have plastic gears that are not known for being the strongest thing yeah so i think winter plans are going to be proper turbo cams and get a real throttle body on there drive by wire's been fun kind of annoying one more tweaking it looks like you can put a little bit bigger throttle body on there it's made to fit a 102 volume see that's the thing that's that i keep coming back to you is last year you remember right after we put those turbos on yep it made the same power on a hell of a lot less boost in this guy i remember it it was a lot less boost it was just and it just still wanted to go you were just like i'm good yeah i remember that day we were going to make and seventy-one this could have gone out right what's changed the cams are locked out now they weren't the cams and the holley right so you got to think the cams probably helped us get there i mean you see the same thing when you get zeroed out on cam angles on a k series you're down you're down half horsepower no you rub this thing dude 86 [Music] he hangs out with the honda guys enough [Music] thank you buddy outro there's a driving home that's great outro oh jamie just i just stand onto me here i try to put him on the spot for an outro so we'll try again not rush nope maybe next time all right guys i'm here with john jacobs we're out here testing he's got a little race this weekend and uh we're trying to get this thing to ride around around 550 to the eighth so the quarter mile time tonight won't really matter that much but so far he's been killing it he's got a cool little timing ramp in it and uh he's gonna see how we're gonna see how it'll do you ready dog oh right one all right guys here we go john's coming into the water box [Music] trying to make this go we got the big tire on it and there's really no track prep tonight the street tart these street cars kind of tear it all up anyway so it kind of got the leave a little soft ah man and then even to make matters worse here we go [Music] it's all in through here too is that a wall water okay place is water all right here we go hey there we go all right here we go blew the tires off here we go on the brakes to a 953 at 120. yeah that way don't get kicked out no he was there's still water out there yeah so he's all over the place but we don't want to get kicked out he's all it's only started day 50 and it's a testing tune anyway so no point in running it all the way out yeah how was that i don't know are you making progress no yeah i don't know is it slower did it spin spoons good luck brother all right so john's getting up coming to the lanes we knocked the tires off the last round uh we've taken a little more timing out softened some boost ramp up i'm gonna try her again look at these guys we're just here we're just here we're all doing it [Music] there we go what's up smokey all right so hopefully we don't knock the tires off we've got a little event going on this saturday douglas wyoming where we know there ain't going to be any track prep and we just want to be on top of it and tonight test tune the track's already kind of gone so ah all right and he's on the brakes hard and still goes to 9 24 11. she was on a mission that looked good bro that thing took off like a rocket bro if i'm not mistaken that's the fastest eighth today that's better thank you buddy oh man we got brad see how brad [Music] come on brad we need to put suspension wow 121.
