8 TIPS TO INSTANTLY MAKE YOUR HOME LOOK LUXURIOUS

[Music] hi everyone my name is arvin olano and welcome to my youtube channel so nobody asked but in today's video i am sharing eight of my top tips to instantly make your home look luxurious now before we get started i do want to say thank you guys so much for 100 000 subscribers here on youtube i don't even know what to say thank you guys for being here tip number one to instantly make your home look luxurious is to fix your color palette now i want you to take a look around your house right now and do you see any colors that are making you go like that don't look right i want you to comment down below if your color palette is non-existent right now and don't feel bad because we're gonna fix that the easiest way to make your home look luxurious is to make sure you have a cohesive color palette i'm gonna make it real simple for you guys always follow the three color rule now i want you to think about your three base colors it could be ivory brown and beige actually this frame is a perfect example of the three color rule if you take a look there is white there's brown and there's black and the limes now when you think about your three colors when you're looking for your brown tones get different variations of brown a dark brown a light brown anything that's brown as long as it's in the same color family of your main color you will be fine and i want you to think about that for those three colors you don't have to match it exactly to the t because two things are gonna happen one you're gonna drive yourself crazy because you're never gonna find the exact match all the time and two your house is gonna look matchy matchy you want the colors to blend seamlessly [Applause] if you follow this three color rule your house is always going to be cohesive and when you're picking your decor it's going to be that much easier for you to style tip number two to make your home instantly look luxurious is to add a metallic accent now i'm not saying you should run to your nearest z gallery to buy mirrored metallic glam everything no no no no no what i mean by adding metallic finishes is to add accent pieces like brass chrome i want you to think of the word accent piece well technically that's two words you don't want to overdo these metallic finishes you don't want to look like the palace of versailles that can look really gaudy really tacky really quick accent pieces are meant to make your spaces come alive think about jewelry right when you're wearing your outfit you're adding your jewelry you're not going to wear like tons of gold necklaces tons of bracelets and jewelry all the way because you're not creating a focal point you want to think about the same idea for your home you only want touches of brass in your space you don't want the whole thing to be brass i'm really loving brass at the moment i don't know what it is i found this really beautiful gilded mirror it's so affordable it's from amazon and if you're not into the brass you can always do polished chrome or nickel because it's the same idea you're adding this high shine material into your home tip number three to instantly make your home look luxurious is to update your lampshades i think there's nothing more telling than an old lampshade right if you have lampshades that look like this no no no no i mean she's old she's really outdated and because they're kind of like really busy they're very intricate in design it can get outdated really quick but if you go for something simple and elegant and the shape is just really clean lines you're instantly going to make your home look luxurious but not only that these shapes are so timeless they're so classic i love a good empire shade lamp i have a ton of affordable lamp shades linked down below for you that will work for sconces lamps floor lamps update your lighting you guys it's instantly gonna change up your space tip number four to instantly make your home look luxurious is to up your thread count when i say luxurious it doesn't necessarily mean you have to buy the most expensive items for your home luxury can also be a feeling of comfort and an easy way to do this is to update your bedding one of my favorite things right now is this ultra weight down comforter from target it's from casa luna we actually had the lightweight version of this and it was pretty but when you put it inside the duvet it wasn't fluffy at all it just looked flat when you're working with these voluminous textures like do we see do we see that movement right when your duvet is voluminous and full you're instantly going to have this luxurious feeling not only when you're sleeping okay but when you're looking at your bed it's like the comforter is key you got to have a thick or fluffy comforter and i will link all of my favorite bedding down below that'll give you that luxurious feeling tip number five to instantly make your home look luxurious is to add high contrast now we can do this in a couple of different ways first is with color instantly when you're looking at this vignette your eyes will get drawn into this color when you add these high contrasting pieces in your home you're creating visual eye candy for your eyes another way you can add high contrast is through contrasting styles in interior design you always want to create that friction and that tension between materiality and colors and that's how you create depth dimension and a luxurious looking space tip number six to instantly make your home look luxurious is that when you're in doubt go simple [Music] when you go for something that has more of a simple design it's instantly going to make your home look luxurious compared to something that is really busy when you keep things simple there's also this peace of mind this feeling of just calmness tip number seven to instantly make your home look luxurious is to make sure that it smells good if you walk into any space the first thing that you're gonna
