COZY BEDROOM MAKEOVER

hi everyone my name is arvin and nobody asked but i want to give my bedroom a little refresh so andrew and i live here in las vegas and the season is finally changing we've been here in our home for over a year now but our bedroom has stayed relatively the same now with the leaves changing color the weather is getting cooler i think it's time to give the bedroom a makeover now before i begin i you what i'm talking about here is a quick overview of the bedroom and the layout when you walk in our tv is right here and because our home is old it actually has all of these weird angles i love this frog but it blends in too much with the carpet and there's ginger on the bed hi gingy our chairs also don't match those are two completely different chairs my console table in here also needs some help it's just becoming a little too cluttered we're gonna play around with the styling that way we can get this whole thing situated i feel like we need something over there i need something to switch it up over there over here we actually haven't found a dresser that we like yet when it comes to bedroom furniture you want to make sure that you are investing wisely because these pieces are meant to stay in your home for years and years our bed definitely needs to be updated and our old bed was too high so we actually took out the frame and we're still using the springboards which is so embarrassing but it needs to be low so that little ginger can actually jump on the bed our headboard is also very very old and it's just not working out anymore so we need to update that what i'm most excited about is i've convinced andrew to get rid of our builder grade fan and put in a beautiful pendant light so good lighting is key to elevate any home and andrew and i have been using caseta ever since we moved in and one of the things that we love most about it is when we're having one of those days and we're working late we can't get home right away we know that the sunset tracker is going to automatically turn on the lights that way ginger is never home alone in the dark you can also set up geofencing which is incredible when you're driving home casetta will actually recognize when you my gosh where's andrew when you need him [Music] i want to talk to you about kind of the inspiration that i have for our bedroom when i was searching for inspo i was really drawn to some of my favorite interior designers and how they use large japanese pendants that are kind of the statement and the focal point in the room so i ordered one online it actually got here pretty quick and i'm so excited to have andrew put it up i'm waiting for andrew to get here with our new headboard and i'm also waiting for a rug to come in and i'm wanting it to be a contrasting color from the carpet ideally i want to change up the carpet but i don't know how to do that so i'm just gonna switch it up with something that is a little bit lighter and brighter than this kind of dingy beige color andrew just got home and he is about to take down this builder grade ceiling fan and we're going to update it with a beautiful pendant line and i can't wait to show you guys but for now we're just gonna have to wait because he has to rewire everything which is very difficult and i don't know how to do that so thank you baby [Music] [Music] here is the pendant that we are going to be installing with our caseta switches and i really wanted to go for something that is completely different something that i've never done here in the home and that is to play with really natural and delicate materials now this is a japanese pendant it's handmade it's massive it's almost as big as me and because it's light and airy it's going to give off that beautiful calm and serene vibe here in the bedroom got it please be very very careful let's try it out with the switch we have light everybody we have light now it's time to take out this old drab headboard and switch it with a brand new one oh she's heavy so the new headboard is in and even though we don't have a full bed frame we're still looking for the perfect platform bed and it has to be platform because ginger has a little gimpy leg so she has to be able to jump on the bed this is her room she loves sleeping here but that doesn't mean we can't get creative and do something that makes our room feel beautiful we have to put down the springboards and we're going to cover it with a fitted sheet that way it looks uniformed with our mattress okay the bed is in it looks so good we still have some styling and decorating to do but we are running out of natural light so we're going to finish this up tomorrow and don't go because i have a lot of decorating tips styling tips that i want to share with you to really maximize the space here in our room hello everyone it is the following day we had such a good night's sleep because that new headboard really made such a big difference our old one was just so clunky so today we are going to be redecorating we're going gonna be adding the bedding putting in some new pillows and putting some final few touches to elevate and make this bedroom just exactly how i want it i just got these two lamps and i'm not sure if i'm gonna go for black or the brass [Music] up next i really want to add this faux olive tree over in that corner i feel like this little bit of greenery will really help to liven up the space ah this is exactly what the bedroom needed a little bit of green a little bit of life so the bedroom is looking a little white and beige so i really want to add some warmth and what a perfect way to do so than by doing this beautiful rattan bench and i feel like it just gives it a really nice contrast no bench is complete without hand woven vintage killing pillows no pillow is safe from my chopping anyone else aggressively chop their pillows let me know down below in the comments it is time to dress the bed and i think i'm gonna go with this option it came with some pillowcases as well which is amazing are these king size pillows perfect oh i love love love love the feeling of fresh new sheets so let's go ahead and dress the bed anyone else love the look of like wrinkled worn in linens ah there is nothing like it you guys it just feels so comfy and cozy these are so affordable i'm gonna link them down below for you okay i feel like we got a lot of stuff done today and unfortunately i'm still waiting for my new rug to arrive i need something to go on this wall right next to me because she is looking a bit empty so i'm gonna check in with you real soon and what we got was kind of a natural beigey tone which i still think works for the bedroom so i'm gonna need your help let me know down in the comments when you see the reveal here in a little bit if
