we found eight great travel trailers with bunk beds and we're gonna review them all today [Music] hi everybody Mike with RV blogger here in front of the camera and Susan's behind the camera and today we're going to be talking about travel trailers with bunk beds now if this is your first time joining us on YouTube welcome aboard we make tons of YouTube videos all about our ving and we also have our web-site RV blogger.com where we literally have hundreds of articles all about RVing as well so in today's video we're going to be talking about travel trailers with bunk beds and there's a difference between the travel trailer with a bunk bed and a travel trailer with a bunk house and apparently I don't know the difference because every single review I call the bunk beds a bunk house and I shouldn't have done that so forgive me for that please bear with me as we go through the video what I meant to say was we're gonna be reviewing this particular travel trailer with bunk beds not a bunk house so anyway and if you're interested in seeing a video about travel trailers with bunk houses we did make a video about that so you can check that out too so without any further ado let's get started with our review of travel trailers with bunk beds this travel trailer under 3500 pounds is the coachman clipper 17 BH it's about 20 feet long and it weighs three thousand and fourteen pounds empty now they have done some really cool things inside of this camper because it can sleep five people most campers this slot this size can only sleep two or three so you'll see some very cool things that they did in here in just a minute but you start out when you walk in you've got a short queen bed off to the right hand side have some storage cabinets up over top you know plenty of storage that are actually pretty deep so I kind of like that and there's a little bit of storage and a little sort of a heads you know a little nightstand above the bed over here coming into the kitchen area it's an inline kitchen but it has a lot of countertop space especially when this is in place over top of the sink the sink certainly isn't too big but it's not a bad size it's got a two burner stove and then a microwave above storage down below deep storage up top so I like all that so far across from the kitchen area we have a dinette you could fit four people in here it might be a little bit of a tight fit but you can do it and of course this converts into a single bed as well so we're up to three people sleeping in here so far we're gonna take a look at the other end of the trailer and you'll see how we make it to how it sleeps up to five people so this end of the trailer has a bunkhouse which is how you get to sleep five people in here and it's really unusual for a small travel trailer to have a bunkhouse in it but we think it's a really cool design the only thing I'm not so sure about is this door that leads outside underneath here and then when I was a little kid if I had that door I'd be gone exploring the campground at night while everybody was asleep probably get caught too anyway now we're gonna take a look at the bathroom in here so here I am in the bathroom and it's a very basic bathroom setup it's just a shower and a commode there's no sink in here but the shower is about three feet wide and it also has a built-in tub so instead of just a shower stall if you have small kids and you need a bathtub it has one built in the commode is set you know in a good spot elbow room wise only one of my turkey wings is able to go out but that's okay they try to make the most of all the space that they can in here we think the Clipper did a great job with the bunkhouse in a travel trailer that weighs under 3,500 pounds this travel trailer is the coachman Catalina 261 bunkhouse model and it weighs about 4700 pounds and it's 29 feet long it does have a bunkhouse and you can see there are two good sized bunks here you could easily get you know two little kids on each bunk but this particular travel trailer will sleep anywhere from 6 to 7 people pretty comfortably the bathroom itself has a neat little feature in it it's the first one we've seen today that actually has a bathtub in which is really pretty cool now there's no way I'm gonna fit in here so I'm not even gonna try but you can see you know it's a decent amount of space for a shower or a tub and really if you have a travel trailer and little kids sometimes a tub is really the perfect combination that you need you know height wise I'm 511 so there's about three inches over my head so just give you some reference point there and the rest of the bathroom pretty good size you know the commode definitely gonna pass the elbow tests in this model and then it's got a corner vanity and a medicine cabinet as well so the Catalina travel trailer has an inline kitchen which I kind of like it works for me it's you know you can get to all of your countertop space it's got a single bowl nice deep sink in there gooseneck faucet whoa which is fantastic in addition it's got a three burner range oven microwave and then in line is your a nice size refrigerator and freezer unit as well on the opposite side from the inline kitchen is your dinette which will convert into a bed and one person could sleep on here I'm not sure it comfortably is the right word but one person could sleep on earth so the one thing I really like about the Catalina travel trailer is this particular floorplan and it just feels so open and that's because the bedroom up front isn't walled off and it's kind of got this half wall over top of the sofa so it's just a very unusual layout that we've seen and it really just opens things up and makes it feel very very spacious this is a short queen in it but the room around the queen is pretty good I mean you can actually get around the bedroom very easily and then you have storage on both sides and over top of the bed as well also one last thing to note is that the sofa does jackknife out so one person can sleep there as well so you could get easily six people in here maybe as many as seven or eight and we really like the Catalina it seems like it's a neat layout this travel trailer with a bunkhouse is the Geo probe by Rockwood it's the 20 foot model it weighs about 3500 pounds and it's about 20 feet long and this bunkhouse model can also go off-road it's a pretty Hardy travel trailer but you can see you've got your double bunks here and some storage down underneath as well pretty nice and then in the bathroom which is right next to the bunk house you know pretty decent size and Oh hop alone in the shower here but you can see I'm 5 feet 11 and if I'm not in this skylight area man I'm hitting the ceiling but it's got a bathtub which is really kind of cool especially if you have little kids and then for your commode you know decent amount of space on the one side not the other but you'll notice something unusual about this bathroom this is the first travel trailer with a bunkhouse that we've been in where there's no sink in the bathroom so with the Geo Pro you know it's a lightweight model it's only 3500 pounds so I think they just try to cut out wherever they can to keep it small compact light and be able to take it off-road the kitchen area in this travel trailer has a three burner stove it has a smaller bar style sink to it not one of the deep bigger sinks that we've seen nice fridge and then it does not have a separate freezer so the freezers inside the fridge and then a microwave over top no oven in here either again they're trying to keep this trailer as lightweight as possible but it's an inline kitchen so everything you need is right here and it's even got a little bit of storage space really a lot because that's two feet deep so plenty of room to store things in your pantry across from the kitchen is the dinette area so this can also become another bed but it's a decent size for four people to be able to sit here and eat at the dinette comfortably and then you'll notice the queen-size bed here one shortcoming in this particular travel trailer is that there's really no storage space for your clothes for whoever sleeping in this queen bed all the other travel trailers that we've seen had a lot of storage all this has is this one drawer and that's about it so this is really a no-frills travel trailer but like I said it's under 3500 pounds and you can take it off-road and you know not a bad travel trailer this particular travel trailer with a bunkhouse is made by Keystone RV it's their Bullitt model which weighs just over 5,000 pounds and it's just under 29 feet long it's 28 feet 10 inches the bunkhouse in this one is located in the back two really good-sized bunks though you could get it a few kids in here very very easily and then of course right next to the bunks we have the main bathroom in the travel trailer as well this is a good size bathroom you do have to step up into the shower takes a little bit of headroom away you know I'm 5 feet 11 inches tall so there's only an inch or two over my head but it does have a little sunroof area so I can make it work in the bathroom itself plenty of room on the commode to pass the elbow test and then it's got a vanity with some storage underneath not much it's mostly hoses valves and pipes under here and then it's got a little medicine cabinet as well so in this travel trailer the kitchen and the dinette is also the living area inside of here but it's got a nice-sized kitchen area I like the way it's got this u-shaped kitchen but you can get to the countertop from both sides either from coming in from the entrance door or from in the kitchen so it makes all the countertop space usable it's got a nice deep sink single bowl sink it's a gooseneck faucet which I like a lot and then it's got a three burner range oven it's got your lighted knobs which everybody seems to have these days and then the refrigerator of course I really like these handles where you know you just pull them instead of the old smaller ones they're kind of hard to clip on these are really really nice and convenient it's got a u-shaped dinette area which is a really good size and so everybody can sit around here and have dinner and this also becomes you know sort of where you would sit to watch TV or things like that because the entertainment center is just over here to my left it's got a smaller size TV a little bit account of cabinet space above and below but you know it seems to work pretty well I'm not a real fan of the bedroom set up in this particular travel trailer it has two doorways that come into the bedroom they both have pocket doors ow and it's very tight in here as you can tell I just smacked my oboe on the wall but it's really tight fit in here once you're in I guess the one good thing about it is this is a full size residential queen-size bed which is great so instead of a short queen it is a full size but there's really not much room you know for your feet to hang over the end of the bed you're really really cramped in here it does have some decent storage space on either side of the bed it even has some shelving behind it and then one one little neat feature is it has this little opening here you can put a laundry basket below there and then throw your dirty clothes down into the storage area below so that's kind of a neat little feature this travel trailer with a bunkhouse is the Jayco x 213 model it is about 24 feet long but it's got a big slide-out in the back which we'll take a look at in a few minutes so when it's fully extended it's about 30 feet long and it weighs about just over 4,500 pounds now the bunkhouse in this particular unit is right up front and it's a pretty neat design plenty of room for the kids to sleep in these couple of bunks there's a little bit of privacy because they tuck in back behind the bathroom as well coming in to the trailer you come into the kitchen area this is a very nice setup I think it's got a very large double bowl sink I love the white light cabinetry with the dark glass windows very very good chic look also it's got a three burner stove got all the lighted up knobs that everybody likes you've got a small oven in it not really huge but you could get a pizza in there and chicken nuggets or whatever else you want to cook microwave over top and a nice little hood fan as well excuse me on this side of the kitchen good size fridge it's got the cabinetry color refrigerator which I just think really helps it to blend in and look nice and then more storage next to the refrigerator as well you'll also notice that the bathroom is on this end of the travel trailer so we'll take a look in there next so this is a pretty good sized bathroom for a smaller travel trailer decent sized shower but it also includes a little bathtub which is a nice feature especially if you have little kids on board also in this bathroom you'll see that it's got a medicine cabinet very nice size vanity with extra storage all the way across and then of course your commode has plenty of room probably won't pass our elbow test but it's big enough now this side of the travel trailer I'm gonna get right to it has this big gigantic six-foot slide out that goes right out the back this looks to be an oversized king-size bed back here some storage cabinets above well lit but this is just an awesome sized bed for for you guys to sleep on it's got a nice thick plush mattress as well much thicker than what you would normally find so really really fantastic set up and then of course you've got your dinette area and you have your comfy sofa area there's actually a TV on the cabinet right across from the sofa so everything's at a good angle for viewing now the sofa jackknifes out into another bed and the dinette converts into a bed as well so you could easily sleep you know two three four and then you have two bunks up front so six people in here very very comfortably we really like this layout a lot we think Jacob's done a fantastic job making a small 24 foot trailer expand out to 30 feet and just feel really big and luxurious inside this travel trailer with a bunkhouse is the Gulfstream Innsbruck model it is the model number 288 and it is about 33 feet long and it weighs about 6700 pounds now we really like this travel trailer not only because a bunkhouse situation but because it just feels so open and spacious on the inside this entire side slides on out it's got a really nice big dinette area which also converts into a bed and then in the living area has a nice big sofa that also turns into a sofa bed so as I mentioned this bathroom is right next to the bunkhouse and we like that location a lot but what we like even more is that the bathroom has its own entrance and exit from the rest of the travel trailer it's got a full bath with a tub pretty good sized commode and then a little corner vanity with a medicine cabinet up above the kitchen in this trailer old trailer is kind of centered around a nice big island here in the middle it's got a really big double bowl sink it's also got the gooseneck faucet which we really like has some finer points to it as well like the pendant lighting and the nice trim piece above also it's got three burner stove a real oven and a microwave oven above plenty of counter space here to work with which we really like and then it's got tons of cabinetry for storage space as well and then over here to the right it's got a separate refrigerator and freezer to round out the kitchen appliances so in the main living area in this travel trailer right off of the kitchen of course we already mentioned you have your nice sofa that folds out into a sofa bed and then you have your entertainment area here of course there would be a big TV here then you have a sound bar and then down you have a really nice fireplace and then from here there are two entrances into the owners bedroom so why don't we head on in there and take a look the owners bedroom is a little bit tight but with the two door entrances it does make it easier to get in and out of the bedroom it's got a short queen bed not a lot of storage space but it's pretty deep and on each side of the bed you've got some storage space with a bar to hang things from so all in all not a bad layout we really like the Gulf Stream models we happen to own a Class C Gulfstream ourselves this travel trailer Gulfstream innsbruck with the bunk house pretty nice pretty nice as far as we're concerned now we're in a Jacob white Hawk travel trailer that has a bunk out this is this is the 24 MB H model and it weighs about five thousand six hundred and twenty-five pounds and it's about 29 feet long as you can see the bunk house in here pretty good size it's only separated by a curtain but that's okay it doesn't have a door that closes it off but it's a decent size nice and plush got some storage underneath as well so that's a good feature for you also and then the bathroom is right next to it a good sized bathroom in here I always seem to head straight to the shower and hop in but here I go again and I these doors are really neat I thought they weren't gonna reopen the only thing I don't like about this shower door is this weirdo rubber clip it's kind of hard to get over this knob and then back off again I wish they had a different type of way to keep the doors secure while you're traveling down the road but you know you only need to close when you're traveling down the road anyway but a decent size I have a you know okay amount of headroom about three four inches over my head again I'm 5 feet 11 inches tall so you know decent space it's not this cool little storage area off to the right here the commode you know will definitely pass the elbow test on the left it's ok on the right not terrible and then corners vanity and medicine cabinet in here as well the kitchen area in this particular travel trailer I really like these cabinets that they have it's sort of a painted cabinet which is unusual for what you'll find in a travel trailer but everything is right here for you it's got a decent amount of countertop space a nice and deep double bowl sink it's even got a little drain cover that comes over top so pretty nice setup there big gooseneck faucet which I really like as well 3 burner stove with an oven and microwave and always plenty of storage space and of course the fridge has the cabinet to cover the door so it doesn't even look like a refrigerator it just blends in with your cabinets which gives it a very residential feel and then you get a little storage space over here which is about two feet deep so you know a pretty good size for a pantry in a kitchen so the dinette area in this particular travel trailer is very unusual you're like sitting on a couch and you've got this table in front of you which you know you're pretty comfortable actually I mean the couch is very comfortable but the only thing that's really throwing me off a little bit is like the TV is there so I can't eat my dinner and watch TV and the fireplace is down here kind of tucked away and hidden away as well so I'm not really sure I like this particular way the dinette and sort of living area is set up but one really cool feature is the other couch and that part of the living area and as soon as I live on my way out of here I'll show you what that looks like so here I am in the other part of the living area Susan's standing over in the kitchen shooting me in this part of the RV and one thing that I really like about this travel trailer is that it has a Murphy bed which is highly unusual but it does maximize your space so instead of this being a bed or a bedroom all the time it's only a bed when you need it to be and it's a couch the rest of the time and when you're ready to go to bed you're just on Jack knife here sofa pull that out pull this down and you get a nice short queen bed to sleep on with a really big window over top I think that's really pretty cool and then you have storage on each side of the bed as well and you have storage down below in addition since it doesn't really have its own bedroom it just has this curtain that comes across to create some privacy in your bedroom for you so it can sleep four to six people but it's a very different layout for a travel trailer we wanted to show it because it's got the Murphy bed feature in addition to the bunkhouse this particular travel trailer with a bunkhouse is the Jayco Eagle bunkhouse model as you can see it has two really good-sized bunk beds for it it's got a ladder built in so it's nice and sturdy plenty of room for storage underneath as well so it's a pretty cool layout you could get I don't know four little kids in here pretty easy in my opinion but plenty of weight capacity for the bunks and you know just a really nice layout then right next door are your bunks you have a really huge bathroom and this baby is I don't know it's gotta be nine or ten feet deep and a good sized shower you do have to step up a bit for that but you still have to at Hannah headspace I'm 5 feet 11 inches tall I still have a good six inches over top of me so really good sized shower lots of storage space in here and a nice sized vanity as well and then great size medicine cabinet nice and deep you can store a lots of stuff in there and of course plenty of room on the commode not so much on that side plenty on this side so that side of the RV had the bunkhouse and the bathroom and now we're into the living room area with the entertainment center which has a good-sized TV fireplaces are becoming more and more and more popular we see them all the time built-in stereo plenty of storage all around the entertainment center as well and then over here we have a boot style dinette set up which is really pretty roomy the whole thing pumps out by a couple of feet to give you even more room and I like these kind of hanging lights it just gives it a little extra of elegance if you will and then of course a decent sized kitchen it's got a corner countertop layout which you know some of the space isn't really usable because its back so far but that's okay it's got a double sink it's missing a cabinet drawer no it's not it's just kind of got this funny thing here and then plenty of storage that goes back two feet nice microwave three burner range oven very nice setup and then of course your fridge right across from the kitchen area and now let's move into the bedroom so this particular bedroom has a short queen in it it also has plenty of storage area in here as well it's got a little place you can hang up shirts and things like that on each side of the bed and then it also has more storage over here as well a few different mirrors you know decent-sized drawer space so all in all pretty good size travel trailer for the money with a bunk house hey guys which was your favorite travel trailer with bunk beds let us know in the comments down below we would love to hear from you also just so you know we made another video
