this is my 2016 BMW i8 most of you are probably very familiar with this cars it's been out for quite a few years now most of you are also probably very familiar with the specs such as the hybrid powertrain 357 horsepower 420 pound-feet of torque and the doors go up however after owning the car for a year now I figured out a few things that you guys probably didn't know and here they are now because this car is a hybrid there's a gas motor in the rear and electric motor in the front however the gas motor is not exposed so you can't see it through the rear window typically that would mean you only have one rear window on a car however this car it's different let me explain when you're looking at the car from the rear it looks like just any other ordinary car it has a window however when you open the window you'll notice another window and some vents why did BMW decide that they should ventilate the engine into the car don't know another weird thing is these headlights not that the headlights are bad but there's a sticker inside but it's not just any sticker it's the same sticker that comes on the laser lights you win at Dave and Buster's after winning a thousand tickets moving on to the infamous door sills oh the door sills I figured this one out the first time I try to get into the car if you notice the seat is far below the door sill so you have to be an acrobat to try to get into the car let me demonstrate [Music] next up is the trunk you may look at this and think it's a very big trunk but don't let this fool you this is the trunk now so you guys have an idea of how small this trunk actually is I have a standard microfiber cloth here and when I extend this microfiber cloth you'll notice that the microfiber is longer than the width of the trunk now we're sitting in the interior of the car and most of it looks pretty normal for a BMW whoever it when we pan over to the passenger side you'll notice that there's two air vents what's weird about that they're right next to each other again I'm not sure why BMW decided to do this but they did since we're in the car we may as well talk about the windows and how they don't roll all the way down let me show you why is this annoying because when you want to have your arm out of the window you can't because it's so uncomfortable and here's one I've never seen on any other car besides this BMW i8 typically on a car when you walk around to put gas in you just open up the gas cap and put gas in not on this car see BMW decided that it was a good idea to put a pressurized fuel system on this car rather than just opening the gas cap before getting out of the car you have to push this gas button when you click this gas button you'll notice here that it has ready to refuel percentage and then you have to wait for it to say refueling possible before you could open the gas cap at the end of the day this is an exotic sports car and it's not meant to be totally practical I figured these were just a few things I would share with you guys that you may not know about the BMW i8 if you enjoyed this video please hit that subscribe button hit the bell next to the button to get notifications every time a new video comes out and leave a comment below if this video taught you anything or you know of any other quirks that I may not have mentioned in this video until the next one take care [Music] [Music]
