what's going on beer fans welcome back to bean review today we're gonna be checking out 30 plus hidden tricks on bmws before we get started guys if this is your first time on this youtube channel what every single week uh for years and years to come so definitely subscribe to the channel [Music] before further ado guys we're gonna go ahead and get started alright guys so for number one i'm gonna bring up the key fob here now there's a ton of ton of download features that this bmw key fob can do right off the bat one of the coolest things is that you can actually roll down the windows completely down and even the sunroof just by holding down the unlock button that you see right here so watch this and if you continue to hold it down it will do the sauna roof too now let's just say for example you want to close the windows you could actually do that too if you hold down this lock button you can actually close down all the windows and even the sunroof too this is also really convenient if say for example you just walked into your house and you saw that it was about to rain and you just want to close your windows you can literally do it right from your key fob really really cool also if you guys didn't know you could do remote start right from the keyflop too so for bmws you could do it from the not from the my bmw app but you could also do it from the key fob as well too the way you do that is you press the lock button three times so watch this and then give it a couple seconds and then the car will start and just like that the vehicle did do his remote start and if you wanted to turn off remote start it does turn off all by itself after about 15 minutes but you can also press it three times again to cancel remote start too give it a couple seconds and then the vehicle will stop [Music] also guys one really cool thing too if you guys had a bmw convertible uh you could also put the top down jaws just by holding down the unlock too or say for example if you wanted to put the top up you could actually do that too by holding down the lock and that is useful for for bmw owners who might have who might have convertibles super super useful also guys one of the cool thing too if the vehicle was completely locked and you know how whenever you just hit the unlock once it'll only do the driver's side door well if you wanted to do all four doors you'd actually do it within the settings inside there but if you wanted to do it from the key fob you could so the way you do that is you press unlock twice watch this so i pressed it twice and it unlocked all the doors so you can do that right from the key fob too just in case you guys didn't know all right guys for the next few tricks are going to be pretty common amongst the previous bmws too but if you guys didn't know you could actually hover your finger right along these shortcuts that you see right here without pressing the button if you just touch it and briefly just scroll over to the next you can see all the different presets that you would have had too so you'd have to go clicking through all these uh a hidden feature that not many people know uh but bmw's had but bmw has had this for a while now all right guys reason number three is gonna have to go to this little voice command guide right here now there's tons of different ways that you could use it but one of the biggest ways is with apple carplay so my phone is not connected right now because i'm using it to record it but if you were to press this one time of course you get the bmw voice command which you could tell many different commands but if you were to hold this down and if my phone was connected you could actually get a siri to pop up right over here too so siri is going to be the one that you would use to make phone calls or write text messages or use apple maps to go somewhere very very useful you can all um and once again guys you can use this for a bmw voice command if you tap it once but if you hold it down you can get a series so two different ways that you can use this super super cool now reason number four is gonna be one that not many people know but say for example you live in new england like i do and you wanted to put the window wipers up now there's a way that you could do that um but if you just go up to the car and if you try to pull on it definitely don't do that because you might break the wiper that's not how you're supposed to do it the way you do it is you literally just turn off your car and what you want to do is you have the little shifter right over here and what you want to do is just hold this down and then just like that after about a few seconds the window wipers they actually stay straight up and now you can go outside your car and you can pull those up to replace them or you could use them if you didn't want uh snow and ice to be built up there the next morning so very very useful for for that if you want that to go back down just turn on the car and pull down the stick and then it'll go back down now reason number five guys is probably one of my favorite ones and i've used to have a 2017 bmw 3 series a 330i that used to have this trick as well too but a ton of bmws they actually have launch control now the way you do it uh the vehicle that we're in right now is the x7 m50 the way that you would do it for any bmw as far as i know all you have to do is literally just hit this traction control button one time and then uh you don't have to hold it just literally hit it one time um and then you can actually do launch control in this state too but what i like to do is actually go into sport and uh you could be in whichever sport you want as well too and the next step you would have to do is you would have to push the brake all the way down all the way down and you have to push the gas all the way down as well too and with both paddles pushed down it'll actually put it into launch control mode the way you know that it worked is that you see a checkered flag saying launch control active pop up right over here too um i'd actually love to show it to you guys but i'm not gonna do it here because i probably go straight into that building so safety first and but that's how you do it if you guys wanted directions on how to do that for your car just comment right down below another cool performance trick that bmw has too and again this vehicle is a 2020 or 2021 but my 17 3 series had this too but if you were driving and if you quickly just wanted your gear all you have to do is just hold this guy down and then your rpm would actually shoot up right into the power band and then you can be well on your way to pass that car right in front and again guys just to repeat myself just hold this down and then the rpm would go up to about straight to 4 000 giving you enough power to pass the car right in front so very very useful number seven i'm actually surprised that a lot that a lot of people don't know this but you see how right over here we have our total miles we have our data sense and then we have our trip computer right below that as well too uh reading at about 19 000 miles now if you wanted to reset that there is a way to do that all you have to do is hold down this bc button and if you hold it down for a couple seconds you'll see that go down to zero that's how you reset your trigger now number eight also has to do with the bc button too but if you guys didn't know bmw they have a service mode just like the previous bmws did and then the way that you would do that is that you would actually hold down this bc button for a long time probably about 15 seconds but you'll actually see a menu pop up right over there and i'm continuing to hold this down the whole time and just give it a couple seconds you'll see the menu pop up in just a second i might just fast forward the video just a little bit right around here but yeah guys after about 20-25 seconds this little magnet just popped up now i'm not gonna fiddle around with the two too much this is more for a service technician but you do get this little box that pops up right over here too also guys one of the cool things too if you have a bmw suv and if you have this little trunk button right over here of course you can push it down under the trunk but if you actually hold it up you could actually fold down the trunk as well too a lot of people don't know about this trick so if you hold it down the whole time you'll see the trunk go straight down but you have to hold down the button the whole time and i'm letting go now now guys the next trick is pretty pretty popular this one is going to be number 10 and basically um all bmws they have this reverse tilting mirror so if you were to go into reverse that side mirror on the right would actually tilt down which is very very useful if you're in a parallel parking situation so all you have to do is just make sure that all you have to do is just make sure that this selector switch left or right is going to be on the left side and just go ahead and put the car in reverse and then you'll see the mirror go straight down i'm gonna zoom in a little bit so that's very very useful to see the curve whenever you're a parallel parking if you don't want that to happen just move this guy to the right and then the mirror won't do that all right guys number 11 is deactivating the auto start stop feature now a lot of new bmws they don't have this button no longer where you can turn off the auto start stop but one of the ways that you can still defeat that is if you go into sport know that that is a little bit inconvenient but that is one way to stop the auto start slide feature is if you just go on a sport another thing you could do too is if you're in drive you could actually just tilt over to the upper left and then as long as you're driving in this sport support mode uh the auto start slide feature won't enable itself all right guys number 12 is going to be a way that you can lock your car without the key now watch this if you're inside your vehicle just go ahead and hit this unlock button right over here and now i'm going to jump out to the car and jump over to the other side and then once you're over here on the other side what you want to do is just hit the lock button right over here it locks both of the doors now if you wanted to open up this door all you got to do is just pull the handle it'll unlock the door and then you can push this guy down and then you can close your door shut and that is one way that you can lock your car without your key fob also guys another cool feature now the previous bmws they also have this too but if you were in drive and if you were in the sport mode going to the left if you were to just hit the park it would actually just adjust itself all by itself going back to parks now so watch this i'm gonna hit p [Music] and there you go all right guys number 14. a lot of people i'm surprised don't even know what this auto h is uh essentially what it stands for is auto hold but it but it basically is a brake holder now what you could do with this is if the green light's on that's how you know that the features it works as like a toggle switch but if you were in drive and then you were to come to a stop you could actually let go up your brake and then the car will still stay in place while the car still is still on drive that's what auto hold is useful for you could also be using it if you're in the stop and go traffic so you don't have to keep your foot on the brake at all times you'd also use it whenever you're going through a drive-through which is usually whenever i see myself using it and lastly you can also use it if you're going on a hill and then you don't want the car to roll back all by itself you would just use auto-age and the car will still stay in place while it's in drive and if you want to begin to go again all you have to do is simply just hit the gas and then the car will begin to move forward again all right guys for this next one we're actually gonna jump outside and i'm gonna show you guys how to do the bmw kick feature surprisingly a lot of people can't do this right some people even they kick their car which is not the way to do it but all you have to do is keep the key fob inside your pocket the key has to be within three feet of the car in order in order for this to work so all you got to do is a straight kick front to back and then the trunk goes up and then you can also do a kick front to back to close the trunk as well too now it does take a couple tries to find the sweet spot but essentially the sweet spot is going to be around be about right over here and then you don't want to wiggle your foot left or right you literally just want to go straight front to back really really quickly all right guys so this next one we're jumping back into the vehicle now a lot of people don't know this but as mentioned before a lot of previous bmws they have this as well too if you're having phone connection issues or for whatever reason the screen might be frozen you can actually do a soft reset for the eye drive system all you have to do is hold this down until the screen goes blank now it does take a few seconds probably about 20 to 30 seconds for this to happen and i'm just gonna fast forward the video just so you guys can see it but this is very very useful if you're having a hard time trying to connect to apple car play or if you're if your phone connection is just for whatever reason unsuccessful as you can see the screen just went blank just give it a couple seconds for it to reboot and try to pair your phone again this usually solves a ton and ton of phone issues as well uh but it's very very useful that a lot of people don't know about so guys for the next one we're going to jump back out to the vehicle i am really getting a workout trying to go in and out but anyways guys there is a way that you can use your key fob you can pull out the manual key by put by pushing on this button right over here and i have to stretch it to get this guy out because i'm in like a weird angle trying to hold a few things but this is the manual key that i just pulled out from the key fob by pushing down this little side button right over here now one of the things that you could do is you could actually just pop just pull on the door handle and then you get and then you guys should stick your finger right behind there and that would pop this guy out and then you can actually stick your manual key right in there this is very very useful if your key fob was dead and another trick that a lot of people don't know is that if your key fob is dead you can actually jump back in here and then you can actually take your dead key fob place it right over here where you see this little key you can place it right over there there is some sensor within the key that lets the vehicle know that it that it is there even though the key fob is dead but all you have to do is hold this here and then just go ahead and hit that to start at the same time while you're still holding the bmw key fob right over here and then your vehicle will start even though the key fob is completely dead also guys jumping back over to the trunk now this bmw is an x7 so it's not going to have this but but if you had a really popular bmw x3 and x5 um you would see a privacy shade that would be held right over here now this x7 is a bad example for this but if you have the privacy shade right over here if you want to if you want if you wanted to release that there is a way that you could do it so in the x3s and x5s you will see a little window right over here and then you actually see a hidden button right along the side that you would push in i'll actually find a image on google.com to show you guys but the button will be right over here all you have to do is just push that down and then you can remove the whole shade trick number 19 guys again this x7 is a bad example but if you have the x3s or x5s they have silver rails that go right along here and here well there is a way that you can get a little hook that goes into that your vehicle should have came with the hook that would go right in into that and then you could actually use that to bungee cord a box or whatever that you might have here in order just so that it will stay in place trick number 20 again i wish i had the x3 and x5 for this but if you were to look in the trunk you'd actually see a little hook that pop-ups out along the side you actually use that to mount your groceries as well too alright guys so reason number 21 is gonna have to go into the middle seats of suvs um but basically the way that you would actually fold down the seat and this is pretty easy to do or if you're in the x-rays or x-fives you're gonna have a a little lava that you will see right on the top right or on the top left of the seat and then all you have to do is just push that in and then you can actually fold down the seat as well too all right guys moving right along for number 22 the for trick number 22 is gonna be inside the gas door right over here too excuse the gas door it is a little bit dirty it is about to be june where it's going to be pollen season um it looks like crap but just try to ignore that but one of the coolest things that you could do with this fuel cap door and a lot of people don't know this especially the ones who are completely new to bmws is that you can actually place it right over you should do that whenever you fill up gas just so you don't have the lid tangling right over here where it might scratch your paint tip number 24 and i do apologize it's getting a little bit windy here but tip number 24 is is gonna be the details on how you would jump your car uh but basically the positive is gonna be right over here but the bigger trick is that the negative is gonna be right along this guy right over there i'm to try to hold my phone tight so i don't drop it into the engine but this but this guy right here is going to be your ground you would put the black jaw upper cable right over there the x5s and that x3s they also have that as well too but yeah positive and negative goes right into there trick number 23 i know i just did 24 by accident but trick number 23 was actually this garage door opener i actually have a video on how to set this guy up you guys had a bmw and if it has these three buttons right over here you can actually program this to open up your garage door you'd be surprised how many people don't even know that that's there but uh these three buttons again are used to program your garage door um if you guys wanted to know how to do that check out better check out one of the videos that we did about like a year ago on how on how to set that up it should take a quick two to three minutes to do it and it's super super easy all right guys tip number 25 a lot of people don't know this but for the newer bmws there is actually bought a button right along the strip club menu and if you were to press it you actually scroll down to where it says climate control rules a lot of people don't know about this really cool feature and it's super super useful too but you can actually set your heated seats to turn on all by themselves whenever it falls 50 degrees and not only that too you could actually do it for the heated steering wheel as well again this is completely useful if you wanted to automate your heated seats and if your car has that's the latest seats as well too you can do it for that too but all you have to do is hit individual connect all you have to do is hit end all you have to do is hit individual conditions and just set the temperature you want the heated steering wheel to turn on and it's very very useful you never have to hit your heated seats or you never have to heat you know or you never have to hit your heated steering wheel ever again it'll just do it all by itself all right guys number 26 a lot of people don't know this as well too but it's pretty basic if you want us to tilt your sunroof all you have to do is push inward if you push inward it'll do a tilt you'll be surprised how many people don't know about that now number 27 is gonna have to go to the heated steering wheel now if you have a new bmw that might be 20 21 22s the heated steering wheel is going to be right around here but this is more pertaining to those people who might have a 2017-2018 bmw the button for heated steering if your car has it is actually going to be way over here on the left side where this little guy is if you have an older bmw that might have heated steering check this back left side and then you would actually see a button for your heated steering wheel right over there too i actually had a customer the other day who have had their x2 for over three years and they had no idea that they had heated steering wheel here the whole time so that's why this trick made it into the video 100 all right guys number 28 and i do apologize for the dogs that are barking in the background there's also a crow there that sounds like it's getting strangled but anyways um all the new bmws they all are starting to come with comfort access a lot of people don't know how to use it there's these three little lines inside the door handle inside the door handle and you do have to have the key fob around three feet of the car you have it inside your pocket or your purse but all you have to do is hit this guy to lock the car that locks the car a lot of people think that that it would be this but it's not but you see why they would confuse that but yeah the guys this is how you lock the car and if you want to unlock the car just grab the door handle also guys number 29 a lot of people don't know that their vehicle has gesture control um the way that you can tell if your new bmw has gesture control is that all you have to do is just look up here and then you actually see this little guy which is all plastic black right over here this actually indicates that your vehicle has a sensor for gesture control if you don't have the sensor right here but if you do have that this your vehicle does have gesture control i actually did a video on the different types of commands that that you could do but essentially if you if you want to use it you just turn your finger just like this and then you can actually turn on that back you'd also pause the radio too if you do a two finger point you can also skip stations as well too the way you do that is by using your thumb to go right or or you can go left and then lastly if you're getting a phone call you can actually go like that to pick up the phone call or you can go like this to reject the phone call too all right guys tip number three zero it's gonna have to go down to the parking assistance now your vehicle has to have the 3d view in order for you guys to see the screen but all that i hit was this little p with the cone right over here um if your car has the parking assistance plus which is going to be the 3d view you actually have a hidden you actually have a hidden menu right over here this little tab and a lot of people don't catch this the first time but this is where you would go but the hidden tab is right over here you can actually hit that a cool little 3d view you can also if your vehicle has gesture control in combination with the 3d view you can actually use your finger and go like this as well too pretty cool and lastly right over here too we do have car wash um car wash feature but if you guys see that i'm just trying the steering wheel right now i actually see the little tire marks right over there too that would be useful to line yourself along the rail that you'll see at a car wash all right guys 31 is gonna have to go to this really cool touch controller a lot of people don't know that you use your finger to draw right over here too but say for example we go into nav and then we go into where to now all that i'm gonna do now i'm gonna use my finger and draw a letter now watch this we'll do a v we could do an e we could even do an s now you can use that for numbers or ladders a lot of bmws especially the new ones they all have this really cool feature but yeah you can draw on the touchpad and then you can actually see it go into play right over there it's a really cool feature but personally i would actually just stick with the voice command to go to wherever you want to go that's also very very useful now number 32 is gonna have to go to the voice commands i'm actually gonna do a separate video on this guy as well too but there's tons of different commands that you could do with this guy um not only can you use it to call somebody if you're connected to the idrive and not the app apple carplay you could actually use this to calm you'd actually use this to call um but one of the other cool tricks too is that you could actually use this to change the lighting within the car too so watch this change ambient lighting to lilac but now you can see that the lilac is right along there i know it's kind of hard to see because it's kind of light up but i literally just used voice command to change the lighting within the car not only could you use this guy for lighting you could also use it to change the temperature set temperature to 75 degrees so yeah guys i just use the voice command to change the temperature you can also use it to turn on the heated seats as well too turn on heated seats and there you go guys i literally just use my voice to turn on the heated seats so yeah guys this button is actually very very powerful definitely play around with that and lastly guys one of the last ones is going to be tip number 33 now a lot of people have figured this out already but as we're all bmw drivers a lot of us don't even know what the blinker is so inside here is going to be all your safety features usually whenever you pick up your vehicle they're all on but if you go into this guy right over here which says configure you actually change around your safety settings to things that you want and whatever you don't want now one of the biggest culprits that people have is just going to be this guy right over here the lane departure warning with the steering intervention now what that means is if this guy was on and if you were to change lanes without using a blinker the steering wheel will give you a nudge putting you back into the lane which a lot of people don't like that at all it's very very not useful if you're trying to avoid potholes or if somebody's trying to go grab their mail and if you're just trying to briefly like avoid them the steering wheel might pull you back in but if you don't like that feature which i don't uh what you would actually just do is just hit this guy and then that feature is no longer available and then just make sure you have this set to individual because now it's customized to you but yeah guys that was roughly more than 30 different tricks on bmws i'm sure that there's a lot more so if i missed anything at all please drop it down
