didn't know before buying a BMW ie the fuel economy this thing is a supercar breeze there I've said it on this sticker BMW boasts 76 MPGe and 28 mpg combined city and highway I'm averaging somewhere around 33 34 miles per gallon which is fantastic we're going to run through the four different driving modes because you want to use the car because it's fast and no matter which driving mode you put the car in you're going to save a ton compared to any other vehicle especially a supercar you can click on to the gauge and have the car tell you exactly what it's getting this cost mean twenty-five dollars a week to fill up it's amazing seat belts gonna be required period if you don't have your seatbelt on and you try to drive with the doors up the car is going to stop abruptly okay all right so I have tested this with door but not two doors up let's see letting me go oh you could see that you can drive with both doors up awesome alright guys so when you have your doors up as soon as you take your seatbelt off the car shuts down car wants nothing to do with you inside of it with the doors up just keep that in mind the feeling of this farm I feel super low to the ground passenger seat is way over there it's a very white car if you need to go to the other side of the vehicle it's best to just get out the other side and open the door and get what you need you know four seats here the back seat it's a very usable bench for your gym bag for your book bag for your clothes your jacket in an emergency situation a person children like real small kids wore bench really good bench I gave you bunny ears we're gonna take a look at the trunk here so maybe you can tell by the glare there's a piece of glass because behind the glass here in the trunk and that's this is where the engine is this is where the 1.5 three cylinder Mini Cooper engine lives you can take a look at the gas engine but you cannot open the hood and look at the electric engine BMW does not allow it and it's a $5,000 fee to put the back together after you've opened it okay this is the Sun Shade that comes with the trunk all right so this is the trunk honestly between the very very deep wide and roomy passenger floorboards and this trunk if I go grocery shopping shopping shopping if I have a passenger that has a bag you know you may not be picking someone up from the airport with a month's worth of things but you have a lot of room in here the guys I can't tell you enough how beneficial this back seat is but you have some cupholders you have one in the front through the back that little compartment behind the cupholders is useful because everywhere you have a beautiful Hartman and Carmen sound system and there's that pane of glass and the reason why that glass is there is the limit road noise so you don't hear anything bouncing around and in the trunk if you have anything in the trunk look at those cuts guys look at those hips look at those cuts so you sit on this bench here slide in foot foot you're in the spaceship and you can close the rocket door oh all right getting out so the startup is really nice the car is always good I want you to have your seat belt on always when putting the doors up for proper weight distribution you want to have the window up the windows down into the door it adds more weight to that side and keeps the door down a little bit puts a little pressure on those shocks and also the same with the side of your mirrors so to have your doors just go up with no problem and sit up and just be up you want to have those side view mirrors in and you want to have your window so going over some of the different driving modes as soon as you start the car the car starts in comfort comfort is probably the easiest mode to drive in it's the softest steering softest suspension the acceleration is soft also and it's a blend between electricity and gas and guess who forgotten to plug the car in last night me that's who but that's okay and we'll just get into that a little sooner than later so this is a plug-in hybrid vehicle this is the only electric vehicle that doesn't depend on you plugging it in to refill its electric battery I have one mile of battery left no fear sport mode is here [Music] this car recharges its electric battery when in sport mode its most aggressive gas engine only mode also it gets a little bit of recharge through regenerative braking [Music] okay so in just that short amount of time we already gained a mile of battery it really racks up pretty quick we're not exactly on the highway yet and this wouldn't be normally where where I'm in sport mode you kind of take your driving modes for where you're out if you're in the city you're not gonna have it in the sport mode in the manual and in bumper-to-bumper traffic you may have it in all-electric mode which turns the vehicle into front-wheel drive at that time the other two Eco Pro and comfort are blend of gas and electric and then you have your all gasp mode that charges up the battery while you're driving these four different driving modes make the car for me it makes it different than any other car that you can buy any other supercar that you can buy any other sport car that you can buy wherever you classify the BMW i8 it's different than anything else out there period I love it's attention-grabbing but I use this as a platform to others hey I okay so let's talk about some other things that you may or may not know about the BMW i8 the wheels plus they've made a couple different wheel patterns in this I feel really blessed to have these I think these are the most attractive factory OEM wheels that came with the i8 some point in our ownership of this car we will change the rims and tires I would love to see a Liberty walk kit on this vehicle but honestly it doesn't need it I've seen a lot of people try to modify these and it just it hurts it I mean the car was just it was made beautiful first now let's talk a little bit about the cars clearance I know you're like wow billions that looks really low I'm sure you have a lot of problems with it scraping I do not but take a look at the clearance and honestly guys as long as you're not moving too fast and you do a little turn of the wheel I have not had any problems with scraping alright guys thanks so much for being with us it has been amazing this is probably my most favorite
