welcome back to the griddle guys got nate jeff chris we uh it's another sunday fun day another sunday not as fun as last week we were on the lake last week we planned today on the lake as well we just weather didn't work out the yeah the lake is melting but we're in jeff's backyard um got an exciting dish today taco pizza taco pizza taco pizza we're uh we'll put it all together step by step it's pretty simple it's really uh simple i don't know if the camera see every cook that jeff does that's simple has 40 ingredients i don't know how that works 40 ingredients maybe not quite but really close i have to remember to rate this one at the end to see if it really is that yeah don't forget the scorecard right don't we'll do the scorecard and uh we're battling the wind but it's also you know 40 plus degrees out so it's nice at the same time not bad and he actually learned how to build a fire for those of you watching well i didn't record how i lit it but it's it's it's running anyways so yeah stick around good cook so i mentioned simple uh simple cook as you can see by my prep table there's not that many ingredients no no nothing nothing to see here it's probably like it just maybe a minute and a half two minutes to bring this all together right everything just keeps building on itself like i was gonna do just tomatoes on the top because that's usually what i do but then i was watching the uh hussy last night and he did some tacos and they did a peek at the gyro i'm like well the pika guy would be great on this pizza we'll do that too why not i watched that video too it was good yeah yeah it was a good cook so anyways so we're just gonna get right into that that's the first step uh and then we'll just go through the steps as we put this together and i think once the vote is in you'll see it's really simple anyways jeff simple same thing right this is cilantro i'm not going to use it all because i also have a dip that i'm making or sauce so i'm going to put one big tomato diced up about half of the cilantro there this is half a small red onion and then one full jalapeno with the seeds just because we want a little bit of heat hopefully the wind's not being picked up by the mics yeah it probably is it's a windy day i'm gonna mix that up a little bit take my sweet dow strong knife i'm gonna do half a lime in this get my special lime squeezer slash lemon squeezer that thing works good yeah catches all the seeds easy enough to clean so we get that a little salt and pepper a little heavy the salt then i'm just going to do a little bit of oil just a little looks good that's it man pick it again spicy pee peek fresh so i love that stuff oh it's great it's like a sauce i mean it goes on goes on a ton of stuff same stuff we did with your bread remember that we did your bread no that was bruschetta that's the italian version of picking a guy that's where they stole it yeah all right step one done step two simple so let me go through my list of ingredients here so this is going to be the topping for the pizza the top sauce so i got about i don't know a cup cup and a half of sour cream right there i bought an avocado the other day or two avocados and they really didn't ripen like i'd like them to so that might be an issue i might have to peel it yeah those are always hit or miss but it works just the same because of the immersion blender i'm just going to take that actually take that side you better be careful with that knife yeah i know it's really sharp so anyways take that off normally you can just scoop this right out unless you have a nice firm avocado like i have right now anyways you get the skin off good enough just gonna chop it a little bit throw that in there as well i should take a little more it's looking simple to me what do you think yeah easy easy peasy that's it two ingredients until you get to the third so then we're gonna put gonna put the rest of the cilantro in there a little tomato action that's okay as well but so we got cilantro sour cream avocado and we're gonna do the second half of that lime that we cut open earlier put that in there so half a lime you got the griddle preheating for the uh yes right uh we're gonna start the beef too okay we're gonna start the beef so nate if you want to put a little bit of pepper in that chris a little bit of cholula our new favorite sauce see one that's good chris keep going and that's it man hey you want to pass me that baggie thank you we're going to get another bag yeah i got a little allen blue a little windy out deal with the wind show you a little trick to this later but that's the uh sauce oh you're gonna put the bell you cut the corner yeah nice yeah nice and easy nice and i'm just gonna throw the beef on the griddle get that going got the griddle on low just so that starts to cook so step two and three done next up step four fresh baggie nice there you go i'll show you a little trick a little easier than a square bottle well clean up let's clean up yeah next step the sauce for the pizza we're not gonna do tomato sauce this is a taco pizza so they do uh part refined beans of your choice just going to do about a half a can i mean we're only making one pizza if you make multiple pizzas you can do whole can not really a big fan of refried beans in general and then i'm going to do like an equal part of your favorite salsa that looks like a hot one that's that's the habanero hot mix that together and then i'm just going to have this on the griddle with the beef warming up sorry for the wind guys yeah it's crazy really really breezy out here today that's it that's your quote-unquote tomato sauce nice we'll get that warming up in the griddle so in line with keeping this a simple recipe i bought my pizza dough balls from the local pizza shop most shops i think will sell you they're dough so if you like that pizza and you want to make their own your own with their dough less than two bucks it's like two bucks three bucks for a dough ball nice and simple and i've been doing this for a little while so i'm gonna see if i can uh roll this out make it into a uh pizza dough what happened there i spilled my uh taco mix but anyways we got another one so we're just gonna mix up some taco mix casualty casualty penalty and uh we're gonna put that on the meat just to get that going so i'll show you that so we're ready to put everything together essentially i'm going to cook the dough i got it on low heat um i want to make sure that the dough is cooked through and i also want it to be a little crispy so i don't want it to burn so i put a little oil down here's my little favorite thing to do a little garlic garlic salt or garlic powder garlic powder or salt i don't have salt out here right now but the salt will be nice too move that all around and right onto it press that in that way it beds nicely how long you thinking on that joe probably about uh three to five minutes on each side maybe a little bit longer because the 40 mile an hour wind that's killing us we're not lying but it is what it is we're just going to keep checking it i mean you peel it up and once it gets like almost burnt like it's a good size that one it's great yeah it's really good this actually spread out nicely yeah i can't believe i did this in three seconds anyways yeah so chris we uh on our last video uh subscriber jay jansen i believe is the way you say it he um he mentioned or he commented that he's in northern massachusetts where in northern mass southern new hampshire he wanted to know why our lake was frozen so today we're in massachusetts and yeah i'll pan over the show he's got a good point i mean that water is not frozen so i don't i don't know why they're like just back yeah jeff's backyard he's got a little it's smaller than a pond it's a swamp yeah it's a swamp you would think it would be frozen but maybe maybe this has more flow coming through it you know the more motion in the water look at guys just so you know you know this is nature look at what beef is jeff did not cut all these little trees down right there those are beavers i got a busy beaver down he's got he's got is it one two or is it a family it sounded like a bear when i'm sitting there on my deck at night you know wrestling through and i can't believe look at the size of some of those trees that this thing is dragging out there that's impressive it's not really something i want to creep up on every time i see a beaver dam i'm impressed but anyways jake jansen you know yeah you're right it's not frozen so i don't know just going to turn this out you guys tell us we had a bubble on the last video over us i guess it was awesome it was such a great time keep stirring our sauce we're going to go five minutes because it looks like it's going slow i turned the heat up to like a medium low okay yeah makes sense with the wind and yeah it's cold it's getting colder by the minute here yeah perfect so this has been more like five six minutes maybe even seven minutes but i'll tell you chris is moving it around to get it nice and consistent i'll give you a little peek under there i'm just going to slide that over there and do a little more oil right here not a ton not a ton what's more garlic uh powder or no ah yeah still got some in there throw some more garlic bam look at that that looks good that's cooking nicely so what we're going to do now slide our sauce over it's nice and warm and thin it's funny as soon as the wind hits me it hits the grill it goes right now yeah it's like it smells good that is so the thing with garlic any grilled pizzas you want to heat up your sauce i learned that a long time ago otherwise your cheese it's just it's real tough to melt because you don't preheat the sauce it's impossible even with even with the dome it takes too long you end up burning stuff right so yeah same thing i used to do pizza on a regular propane gas grill you know not griddle grill yeah and i'd always use a side burner to heat up the sauce now you can see that this is pretty thin right i mean it's not like a layer or a thick layer of wow is that one going huh yeah i apologize guys if you can't hear us yeah so we got that get that out of the way i'm gonna grab some cheese this is just first layer of cheese so chris you got an ingredient count on this yet i think we're i think this is numbered well it's sauce cheese and chocolate 16 or six i don't know cheese and topping that's what we're doing [Laughter] so now we're going to put some the hot taco meat hot taco meat oh that's looking awesome so we didn't really talk about it on any of our uh must-have videos but it's one thing that i got to say with me the must-have and it's good just to have and it's fun to have is a torch yeah you know what yeah we use it a lot and it makes something like this i mean you know made this a pretty big pizza for the griddle you know this is a three-person four-person person pizza and uh and it's tough to dome you know so then it's tough to melt the cheese so i'm doing another layer of cheese second layer cheese pay attention people second layer can't have you know some pizza you gotta have cheese and sauce right and then this is where torch comes in nicely because you got a little bit of the heat coming up from the beef but not a lot you want to hold that up to the camera and mention it's not propane so it's not propane it's a map gas propane will impart a flavor i would think if you were hitting the yeah because you're so close to the food with the propane so the map gas you get less flavor less gas yeah and it's something that it takes a little bit long you know it takes more more than you would expect you know as far as for the yeah it's melted with the oils and stuff in the cheese and that's it as far as the torch goes um but this is gonna keep cooking it's gonna keep melting i just wanted to give a little color set the cheese nicely and we're gonna sit on this for another i don't know five or six minutes maybe seven until the bottom is nice and crispy and then we'll do the cold toppings and we're going to shut the lid for the rest of this yeah because the wind we should no i'm just wondering i think we should no no this will be good you just want to get the uh at this point now we're just kind of putting a crust on the bottom because i like like a crunchy pizza for something like this so i think we're up to step like two or three yeah 67 or 68 that's somewhere around there so this simple pizza it's pretty much done i mean you see under that nice color under there yeah looks good so we got that it's nice and warm on top so what we're going to do is just dress it up now um finish it off so just some chopped salad any you know anything crispy romaine or or lettuce but yeah sorry i was sorry for the wind sorry for the wind but let's see yeah oh that's good that looks good do that romaine or iceberg either one you just want it to be crispy and then this is the uh tip that we're kind of talking about earlier just take the edge of the bag quick piping bag right quick piping bag no dishes necessary oh nice so that's going to be good with that and you got black olives with some black olives serious pizza jeff this is this is the stuff right here this is the 2am special and then we're going to do some pico de gallo and that is a simple tackle pizza simple three sauces 10 toppings in 40 degree weather outside looks nice the wind the wind's killing us but yeah it looks good we got to hear it it's done no that's it don't see it done [Music] can't wait to taste it we'll cut this up get it off the griddle see you there so guys jeff's mom stopped by and uh dropped off a christmas gift for us meatloaf we love it we love it check these out not windy though so anyways on one side you got our logo on the other side we got jeff's famous saying don't know where this came from right done yeah these are great guys eventually we'll get these up you can have them these are these are good for the whole family everybody it's good stuff really cool gifts and we thank jeff's mom yes thank you very thoughtful and kenny thank you kenny yeah so we're going to do a taste test and see if these guys are sold on uh tackle pizza yes simply done look at that damn taste test time guys look at that nice and crispy that's wow that crust is a winner dude i don't know if you can hear the crunch over the wind but [Music] that doe came out awesome jeff wow awesome a lot of flavors yeah right wow i love the sauce i get the jalapeno i'm getting that yup this is really good really really good not as spicy as i thought it would be no surprisingly there's so much stuff on top of this and it's still nice and crispy i can't believe it look at that this is heavy a pizza a heavy piece of pizza so what are the flavors that come through um i like the meat taste the taco meat right off the get-go let a second crust has just got an incredible incredible crunch um i got the taco mixed in with the jalapeno and that sauce you put on jeff the uh what's the sauce made of again sour cream avocado yeah wow hitting the back of my throat i like it i love the cold i like the cold lettuce cold sour cream with the hot hot beef hot beef anyways yeah um so we're going to rate this using our trap scorecard scorecard we're going to have to deliver this yeah we'll talk it over a little bit but man this is good yeah really really good you ever get pizza that thick can we get pizza that crisp this is crisper than a new york style pizza really good that's perfect wow that was perfect good stuff so all right oh jalapeno just kicked in oh my god wow good stuff scorecard time time yeah let's start with flavor excellent five for me five five five we'll give that a five because we know it's gonna sink some other five i'll go five i mean the crunch on that crust was just outstanding and a little bit of heat not too much i thought it was gonna be harder that was delicious hits the back of my throat a little bit just enough i loved it i like the different flavors texture and temperature changes throughout like a single bite you got a crunchy you got the lettuce that's cold the beef that's hot the cheese it's melted it's just the peak of the guys the sour cream mix oh yeah good moving on to cook complexity quick complexity three three nine three three he says three it's not complex it's you know a lot two and a half so chris you're a two what are you i'm gonna do i'm gonna i'll settle i'm gonna go with a three because we have another we have another category of ingredient list so as far as the actual complexity complexity it's pretty simple i mean i broke it down into like three steps that's right just like every one of them all three with them all right three three on complexion um wow factor i think it's pretty impressive give that a four and a half i'm gonna give it a five four five i'm gonna go with chris then we'll give it a five minutes it was delicious i loved it i was so impressed with the that the crust stood up hold on the criteria is how many people are going to instagram it i think a lot of people yeah if we didn't get a picture of it i've just there's so much meat on top of that and that crust was holding it up like that pops you know colors look at that exactly there you go look at that all right so chris you're a five i'm a five five you're a five yeah i'm five yeah so final score on wow factor is a four all right five five next moving on to next ingredient list all right so that's like a two minus two jeff you started the video by saying it was a simple cookie it's a simple cook i mean it's a step two i'm going to again i mean there wasn't like three sauces i agree with them it's a two it's a two is it two 10 or 15 days listen he worked hard for this and he did a lot of stuff too a lot of times just don't have i mean nobody really has sometimes it takes a lot of work in that house because it only lasts for like a day or two sometimes it takes a lot of work to make something awesome all right two yeah how much you want this one two definitely two i'll agree with that all right so like we asked in every score card chris you kept track of all those numbers you got the total right yeah we got like 16 17 18. 22. 16 16 all right
