hello everybody and welcome back as always i am matteo311 and this is your one channel for everything vr related today we're ranking five years of vr games this is a yearly video that i put out where i score my entire vr library going from my least to most favorite games now this does of course include pcvr playstation vr and oculus quest titles last year you guys absolutely loved this video and today's is gonna be three times as long just to keep things moving along the lower a game is scored the less time i will spend on it if your favorite game didn't make the list let me know what it is in the comments below and i'm sure you'll see it here next year okay so like i said this list is huge so let's not waste any more time and jump right into this we're gonna start this list off with all the games that score under a 7.0 these are titles that are either just okay not a great value their multiplayer base has dried up or there's just some other significant reason why you shouldn't purchase the game right now in 2021 let's just start off with my least favorite vr experience which was riff vr now this was supposed to be the rock band the vr but not a single instrument was fun to play now another experience that really isn't worth your time is thunder god while it's a really nice looking hammer throwing wave shooter there's almost no variety and it's really short so unless you find these titles on a steep discount i would just avoid them now another vr title with very few redeeming qualities is wolfenstein cyberpilot it's extremely short and fails to deliver that visceral combat that we've come to love from the wolfenstein series it also launched with a series of bugs some of which have never been resolved now our next title is also a very poor value but it's actually a really cool experience and that's batman vr this was a playstation vr launch title from 2017 the only problem is it's over the second it starts to get good now if this was a 5 continuing series i would absolutely eat it up but 20 for about 40 minutes of gameplay is just not worth it ok so next up is a group of dead vr multiplayer games now some of these were actually quite excellent at launch but you can't have a multiplayer game without a player base now this includes hover junkers star trek bridge crew space junkies death lap air ranger frost point vr proving grounds space team virtual battlegrounds and cook out a sandwich tail now if you have a few friends interested in coming along for the ride star trek bridge crew space team and cookout are still very viable games and they're all a blast to play with your friends i just don't want you to pick up the game solo and go looking for people online because you will be disappointed now virtual battleground still has updates coming out so maybe that'll revitalize the player base death lab can be quite fun alone and air ranger has a quest version coming out currently on sidequest called hibo okay so let's move into some good news with the games that rank between 7.0 and 7.9 now these are good games if you are a fan of the specific genre or you find them on a discount they're worth checking out so first up is guns and stories bulletproof vr this is a western themed wave shooter with some comical narration there's a nice amount of content and variety in weapons and levels at a low price but when it comes to wave shooters there's just better options now a similar title to some degree is mason grace this is a wave-based melee game with some hilarious combat it's a blast to play but it's lacking in overall substance ultimately it's a fun distraction at a low price tag okay so next we have rush a wingsuit flying game personally i just thought this game would be more exciting i was looking for that adrenaline rush something that games like richie's plank experience and the climb are able to induce but rush just didn't do it for me that being said though it is still a cool racing game and i know plenty of people who enjoy this title speaking of enjoying a title next up we have aspire 1 which was much lower on my list last year the original buggy release of this title left me absolutely disappointed the game also failed to deliver on that metal gear solid in vr promise but the game has come a long way since release and it's a fun way to scratch that stealth game itch now if you're not interested in stealth we have the arena fighter ninja legends ninja legends is an arcadey wave fighting game with a nice variety in weapons locations boss fights and it even includes some cool power-ups there's not a lot of overall depth in this game but it is a fun experience they've also added a bow gameplay mode since the title's original release now if you're interested in something with an old school feel we have space blockbuster this game is very similar to the classic title brick breaker but now you are physically inside the game and swinging those paddles if you're looking for casual titles space blockbuster is an absolute blast to play not only does vr put a new age spin on a classic title the game also features tons of power ups boss fights and new items that you can unlock over time so while we're talking about casual titles we have to mention oh shape if you're looking for a quirky rhythm-based alternative to beat saber then you gotta check out osha rather than swinging lightsabers you're contorting your body to fit through specific shapes this is a lot more fun to watch as a spectator and it's a really fun party game now if solo's more your style and you're looking for an adventure puzzle game we have doctor who the edge of time you'll journey through an apocalyptic adventure which can be quite spooky at times and for doctor who fans this title was either a nerdgasm or a complete disappointment the environments and storytelling were quite cool but the puzzles were a bit lacking now a similar puzzle title was prose enlightenment this game also has a dark theme but it absolutely does not hold your hand delivering some extremely challenging puzzles i was also pretty intrigued by the overall storyline so if you're looking for dark storytelling and difficult puzzles check out pro's enlightenment okay so next up is raw data raw data was one of vr's first attempts to deliver a full game it has a fully narrated storyline they've built a dystopian future world there's multiple player characters that you can level up and the game even includes some multiplayer modes but at its core this is still just a wave shooter it's definitely a fun experience but a bit overpriced for what you get okay so next up we have another arena fighting game swords of gargantua features a very cool intro storyline some great fighting mechanics some advanced physics systems and even online multiplayer combat you'll unlock new weapons over time and the game features some truly unique enemies the only issue is it gets overly repetitive you're also unlikely to find people online playing in the co-op mode anymore now our next title is probably the only tower defense game on the list and that's ginny and fako ginny and thako takes full advantage of vr controls allowing you to pound enemies into submission there's also gesture based spells and the typical resource management you would find in another tower defense title the game also features multiple monty python style cutscenes so if you like tower defense games and enjoy that type of humor this one is right up your alley so our next title comes from a genre that is equally underrepresented and that is the rts final assault final assault has you controlling an army of cartoon soldiers in a one-on-one battle this game features both single player and multiplayer and if you played with little army toys as a kid this feels like a dream come true it's really exciting to be in the middle of a toy war zone now if you are looking for something darker and more realistic we have hinge episode 1. graphically this game is stunning and it's equally as creepy the game had a rough launch with some serious performance issues but has been patched since then and there is a demo available if you want to check it out and i found every aspect of this game including the creatures the storyline and the non-euclidean geometry extremely intriguing if you're a horror fan put this game on your list but if you're not a fan and you're looking for something completely different check out starship commander arcade now this project was originally intended to be much bigger but due to budget issues we only got a short 15 minute experience that's okay though because there is some high replayability here and this is a truly unique experience because it's the only title completely controlled by your voice you make storyline decisions by verbally answering questions you can kill some time by trying to flirt with the in-game and pc or you could just sit back and enjoy those stunning graphics the game also comes with a 90-minute documentary which details the development of this title and it's really interesting if you're into game design so our next title is another unique one and if you ever wanted to be part of a japanese anime all deus has you covered alteas beyond kronos is a really trippy multi-hour interactive storyline you could replay it to unlock new scenes and overall it was just really intriguing mechanically though the game is very simplistic you will be listening to a lot of dialogue then picking the response of your choice and battle scenes come down to just touching a few indicators on your screen even with that simplicity i was still compelled to complete this game as fast as possible now if an interactive storyline isn't fast enough for you we have airborne airborne is a high-flying shooter with some amazing mechanics you'll be flying through the world at extreme speeds all while taking out an array of enemy drones by some miracle this game does not induce any motion sickness at all and once you get a hang of those flying mechanics it just feels so good there is a leveling system with unlockables but overall i just wish this game had a little bit more to it it's a good low priced time killer with some unique mechanics now if you wanted to keep up the speed but stay a bit more grounded we have stride stride is commonly referred to as mirror's edge in vr and it lives up to that name you'll parkour from rooftop to rooftop occasionally taking out some enemies once you get a hang of the mechanics this game feels so smooth and there's multiple different gameplay modes to keep you entertained please note stride is still in development okay so we're gonna return back to arena fighting games with iron lights iron light sets itself apart by having unique graphics and mechanics rather than trying to emulate real-life physics they've simply developed their own system where weapons shatter on contact it might not be realistic but it is fun the game has a large array of unique weapons that all function completely different there's a stamina mechanic that will truly impact your overall strategy and as an added bonus you'll still find people playing this online again though like most other arena fighting games this title does get quite repetitive so to change things up we have the action horror title lies beneath the game features excellent cel-shaded comic book style graphics it has some really creepy undertones and it's fun taking out an array of different creatures it's definitely less scary than games like dead space but i would put it in that same action horror genre but i know horror is not for everyone so let's check out the lighthearted puzzle game time stall time stall has you on a robot operated luxury spaceship after a system-wide malfunction that robot staff is now hostile so after something goes extremely wrong you have the ability to reverse and then stall time you can physically interact with some objects that'll hopefully save the day when time starts moving again it's definitely a cute title if you're into puzzle games now the next game might surprise some people by being this low on the list but that's star wars tales from the galaxy's edge it's a fun experience features some great graphics on the oculus quest has an incredible side mission where you get to meet yoda but the majority of the game is a bland shooter i'm hoping the second half of this game when it releases will help improve the overall title now our next title is very similar when it comes to bland combat and that's warhammer 40k battle sister don't get me wrong it's a fun game the combat is brutal and i was compelled to complete this title the main problem is the warhammer franchise deserves much more as a huge warhammer fan i just couldn't help but be disappointed there were no physics in the melee combat the graphics do not look good on the oculus quest and the storyline was extremely predictable it's a cool mindless shooter but it should have been so much more and just for a bit more deja vu guys we have doom vfr the recent doom remakes have absolutely blown our mind and we wanted that in vr unfortunately though we got a game that just doesn't run at the same pace now this title has moved up on the list since last year mainly because at launch this game was a nightmare the game released with nearly two full pages of known bugs and i think i experienced every single one of them now it has been patched and it is a cool experience it's just not that doom you know and love so obviously the next game that should be right next to doom vfr is real fishing vr i know that sentence sounds absolutely crazy but this is just a fun chill experience i have absolutely no interest in fishing in real life but if i'm bored and had a rough day it's just this odd serene escape it's also great during these socially distanced days invite a friend hang out and catch some fish they just need to add some virtual beers now if you're looking for an off-planet escape you should check out jupiter grad jupiter grad is a grappling hook platformer with a great sense of humor so you'll grapple your way through an array of deadly traps as you attempt to repair the jupiter grad station the grappling hook mechanics are excellent and this is a really fun title speaking of really fun titles we have solaris off-world combat now i absolutely love this game but i'm scared that by next year it may end up on that list of dead multiplayer titles it's an excellent arena shooter but it launched without enough content and the player base has dwindled now the developers have been pushing out updates but it may be too little too late because solaris has some major competition coming in the near future now there's another online shooter in a similar boat and that's tower tag tower tag is absolutely excellent and features some truly strategic combat but the overall player base is quite small and it's being kept alive by league style competitions hopefully they will eventually release a quest version that will help the overall player base now an online game where you don't have to worry about the player base is poker stars vr this game is surprisingly good for that low low price of free it's extremely social and it's a great way to experience the poker table all from the comfort of your own home this game continually has updates they recently added blackjack and there was even a mode where you can bet on the super bowl this game is just a no-brainer if you're a poker fan okay so our next title has actually dropped down on my list and that's vanishing realms while this title does hold a special place in my heart and it's one of very few vr rpgs as an older title it just doesn't completely stand up to today's standards the rpg elements are quite light it's not a very long title the combat while fun lags behind newer titles and there's just a better game that i would recommend over this coming up later on the list now our next title is a much more recent one and that's tarzan vr tarzan features surprisingly beautiful graphics really fun swinging mechanics and combat and if you're looking for a title where the in-game mechanics help immerse you into this world tarzan is a great experience just don't go in expecting anything too serious the only thing really holding it back is the amount of content you get for the price tag speaking of not a ton of content we have blast on this is a one-on-one multiplayer dueling shooter with some truly unique mechanics your selected arsenal will randomly spawn around you you'll have to grab a weapon and try to take down your opponent but it gets much more strategic than that as weapons have different firing speed clip sizes and different trajectories as you continue to play you'll unlock new weapons and develop your own personal strategies this is also a very active game where you need to continually dodge the enemy's bullets it's a lot of fun and the online player base is still active okay so let's jump back to some arena fighting games and we actually have two that score around the same for me the first one is gorn and the second one is hell split arena ultimately it comes down to preference gorn is this comical very cartoony slapstick physics game where health split is the exact opposite it has some amazing dark and gritty graphics and it aims for realism with its physics-based combat so if you want your arena fighter to be silly go with gorn if you want more realism or a creepier theme go with health split arena both of them feature some insanely brutal combat though okay guys we are breaking into the games that score between 8.0 and 8.9 these are excellent games that have some or all of the following attributes they're a great representation of their genre they're an amazing value they have a ton of replayability they are just undeniably fun or completely addictive so the first game in this list is arizona sunshine arizona sunshine is one of the few games to feature a full single player co-op campaign they've added multiple dlcs over the years and the horde mode delivers hours of non-stop fun but shooters aren't for everyone and that's why we have rhythm games like synth riders if you like rhythm games but beat saber isn't quite your style the mechanics of synth riders get you naturally dancing to the songs it's a really fun experience and their latest dlc package which includes the algorithm virtual experience is absolutely fantastic now if you're looking for something like mario kart in vr there's dash dash world dash dash world features a huge single player campaign there's an excessive amount of unlockables including a custom mateo 311 cockpit and horn and competing online is an absolute blast speaking of absolute blast we have our next two titles swords of gora and grapple tournament these are two phenomenal games that are currently being held back by the low player count grapple tournament is just like unreal tournament except it's in vr and you have a grappling hook mechanic i was in a tournament for this game and i had an absolute blast now i was also in a tournament for swords of gura this game has the best online melee mechanics since you can't replicate physics in an online multiplayer game they've developed an amazing set of mechanics where weapons will shatter on contact it's a lot more strategic than what you see in iron lights and it's a highly competitive game now both developers are working to get their games on the oculus quest so i'm hoping the player base will grow in the future and these games will get the respect they deserve speaking of respect we have journey of the gods journey of the gods is an rpg light title with some fun combat excellent cartoon graphics and some specific mechanics that would only work in vr it doesn't fully scratch the rpg itch but it's a great game nonetheless so next up we have thrill of the fight which is a surprisingly good title if you're looking for vr cardio look no further because this game will have you exhausted the boxing mechanics feel great and this is an excellent cheap title if you want to get out some frustration or just get the blood flowing i recommend this game so our next titles are all pretty unique and there's something you can play with your friends the first one is keep talking no one explodes this is an asymmetrical party puzzle game one person will be in vr trying to defuse a bomb everyone else will have a set of paper instructions and it basically just turns into a frantic hilarious mess another unique asymmetrical title is tickling's house party there are multiple different modes for this game and it allows for up to nine players at the same time one person will be in vr trying to take down these small creatures known as takelings and everyone else can play in couch co-op fashion there are multiple different gameplay modes and it's one of the best vr party games available okay so our next game is the co-op shooter stormland stormland features an intriguing storyline where you play as a robot that's been offline for quite some time you'll wake up with the world drastically changed and you'll have to discover what happened they truly personify the robotic creatures in this world making it a touching story the fact that you could play this game in co-op combined with the large amount of unlockables really increases the replay value okay so let's jump back to a single player shooter that i have a strange crush on silicon rising is an absolutely gorgeous first person shooter that oddly plays a bit like a bullet hell game there's two completely distinct modes you can play through this title in including a classic mode where there's only a node based locomotion option and you'll have to rely heavily on ducking behind cover now the arcade mode opens up free locomotion and completely changes the pace of the game it's a blast in either mode classic is quite challenging and this game also provides a nice level of variety but as strong as my crush is for silicon rising i have an even bigger one for space pirate trainer space pirate trainer remains my favorite wave shooter it may look simplistic but there is a lot of strategy in the mechanics slo-mo matrix-style dodging bullets pulling a shield off your shoulder and quickly switching to the perfect weapon to take down the enemy you're currently facing all while being pumped up by an amazing soundtrack if you're looking for a fun wave shooter space pirate trainer is my number one choice now my next title is one i'm pretty sure you've never heard of and that's battle group vr battle group vr is an rts where you control a fleet of spaceships it has a full single player campaign your ship captains will level up and gain new abilities there's a large array of different ships all with their own specialty and you can completely control their armaments the game has amazing graphics you can control your ships with your voice and they've also recently added multiplayer i do have to mention that the game is still in early access though okay so next up if you want some classic first person shooter action you have to pick up sirius sam 3. not only does this game look and run great it's insanely intense non-stop action if you've never tried the serious sam games i highly recommend playing them in vr there's an excellent duke nukem mod you can pick up and you're getting a full-fledged multi-hour game with multiplayer and multiple game modes now if you prefer something that was built from the ground up for vr we have robo recall robo recoil absolutely nails vr mechanics there's about a thousand different ways you could take down enemy robots in style you can rip off their heads and limbs snatch bullets out of the air and throw them back at the enemy grab them and use their own weapons against them or just be boring and shoot at them the game does reward you for style though the campaign itself isn't that long but the unlockables add some replay value and there are some cool mods available online they're super hot there's nothing quite like super hot the game only moves when you move leading to this matrix style vr inception world it's a must play for just about everyone it's just a shame that it's really short now if robo recalls too silly for you and you're looking for realism we have onward onward is vr's number one military simulator it is absolutely unforgiving with no huds no enemy hit indicators and extremely realistic weapon handling it can be a bit overwhelming at first but if that's the style of game you're looking for nothing competes with it speaking of nothing competes with it up next is vr's best multiplayer rpg carnage chronicles is an excellent rpg that you could play through in either single player or in co-op mode like most vr titles it's light on those rpg elements and if you do play in co-op it turns into a bit more of a hack and slash dungeon crawler but either way it's a blast to play the developers just recently opened the discord so now it's much easier to find a party and jump into the game if you want invite me and i'll definitely join you guys so our next game is a classic title and it's just an overall great representation of what vr should be the lab is valve's set of free vr minigames every person new to vr should experience this game meeting gladys in game is an absolute wtf moment we're shown what vr immersion really is and every single mini game is just so much fun to play and it's free so if you've never tried it download it right now now another free title is rec room don't let the childish appearance dissuade you this is a high quality game the standard built-in games like the mini rpg quests laser tag and paintball are definitely great fun but there's also so much user generated content you can spend an endless amount of time in this game the fact that it's on so many different platforms including flat screen ones keeps the player base extremely high but like i said it's free so go download it and thank me later speaking of games that you could virtually play forever we have no man's sky no man's sky has so many different options you could just sit back chill and build some things fly around the galaxy and even get into space fights and they've recently added giant mechs and living ships the vr version of this game has also improved significantly since launch and while i wouldn't say it's performance issue free i will say it runs much better than it did now if you wanted your flight game to be closer to a simulation we have vtom vtol features replicas of real-life planes and while this isn't a full-on life-like simulator it strikes an excellent balance between flight sam and arcade game leaning much heavier towards sim graphically the game has its highs and lows sometimes it looks absolutely stunning and then you occasionally see a character who looks like he's from nintendo 64. but the gameplay itself is absolutely addictive if you told me before i played this game that i wouldn't mind practicing vertical takeoff and landings for two hours straight i would think you were crazy there's just something addictive about mastering the controls on these planes speaking of addictive we have until you fall this roguelite title will have you coming back for more and more rather than trying to emulate physical combat they just developed their own fighting system that works amazingly well in vr it'll have you blocking and ducking blows then counter-attacking and firing off your special abilities when the moment is right it also ends up turning into a pretty intense workout so in case you need to sit down our next title is i expect you to die i expect you to die is a comical escape room and like the title says you will die a lot in multiple different hilarious ways that level of comedy helps prevent the game from getting frustrating and once you finally learn how to beat a level the next time around turns into a speed run but why stay seated when you can climb that's right the next title is the climb a game that absolutely blew me away looking at trailers i had absolutely no interest in this game and i couldn't understand how simply climbing makes for a fun game well i'm glad to report i was completely wrong the climb could be absolutely exhilarating and it has solid mechanics i recently watched a professional mountain climber play this game and even they said their palms were sweating now if you want to stay grounded and exploration puzzle titles or more your style you have to check out the gallery episodes 1 and 2. the game features a truly unique and engaging storyline the puzzles are a perfect level of challenging and overall it's just extremely immersive now if you want to get immersed in an ip from hbo we have westworld awakenings westworld awakenings takes place during season 2 of the hit television show and the developers did an amazing job with the original source material now this is a horror title that plays similar to the flat screen game outlast and if you're a fan of either the show or horror games in general i highly recommend this title speaking of recommending titles echo vr is another easy recommendation if you're looking for a great free title that plays a bit like rocket league mixed with rugby in space well then echo vr is the game for you it's extremely competitive and will take a while to master but when you eventually stop pulling off some crazy moves it becomes so amazingly satisfying they've recently announced season passes for this game which will all be cosmetic in nature so if you haven't played this this is one more title you should be adding to your download list right now okay guys we finally did it we made it to the best arena fighting game and that is blade and sorcery now this game is still in development and will eventually be more than just an arena fighting title but it already features some of the best combat in vr the game also features full body tracking so if you're interested you can jump kick enemies to death trust me you can i've tried and when you eventually do get bored of that there's an insane number of mods that you can try for this game we're talking thor's hammer iron man suits and even lightsabers and since i mentioned lightsabers let's jump into space with elite dangerous playing an open world space sim in vr makes it 10 times more exciting graphically the game is stunning and it's another one of those titles where you can do whatever you want if you just want to be a space trucker flying from planet to planet go for it but if you got the need for speed and want to go engage some enemies well you can do that too the overall complexity of the game might be a bit too much for some people but if you're willing to invest the time it is definitely worth it but if you want a little bit more instant gratification we have budget cuts too budget cuts is one of vr's best stealth titles it also has a hilarious sense of humor and fantastic combat mechanics for those who hated the teleport only locomotion in the first title they've finally added free locomotion in the second game and it's just a really fun playful title this was another game that caught me off guard because i wasn't expecting it to be so good speaking of broken expectations we have phasmophobia phasmophobia is a surprise hit this co-op ghost hunting title has given me some of my favorite online vr experiences watching my friends cry into the remote camera blair witch style or charging into a house to help my friends from a ghost attack only to die myself has left me laughing hysterically this game has a huge following so you'll never have an issue finding people online and it just has the perfect level of spookiness it's a great overall title that's almost as good as our next one jurassic world aftermath as of making this video jurassic world aftermath is currently the best quest exclusive the cel-shaded graphics really pop in vr hiding from a raptor is absolutely exhilarating and the developers did a great job on the storyline and capturing the jurassic park world it's just a shame that they've only delivered half the game so far so let's hope they don't ruin things in the second half of this game now if jurassic world is a little bit too intense for you the puzzle platformer moss absolutely blew me away now i'm not a big fan of platformers or puzzle games but this game was recommended to me so many times that i just had to check it out and i'm so glad i did by the end of the title you'll feel like you formed a true bond with the character quill and that you've completed a classic journey together the graphics are stunning with these highly detailed environments and it's fantastic to watch quill react to and just take in the world around her now if you don't believe in quill and want to stick to some true comic book heroes we have iron man vr iron man not only tells a great story but it also actually makes you feel like iron man there's a huge attention to detail in the sound effects used and how the weaponry works the game has some nice replay value as you can unlock some new weapons and suits and there's even some challenge missions where you can really perfect your flying so if you ever wanted to be a playboy philanthropist billionaire with an iron suit well now's your chance now if you rather just be a robot we have lone echo lone echo is some of vr's best storytelling while it's mostly exploration and simplistic puzzles this game is absolutely captivating the storyline also unexpectedly shifts into high gear and it leaves you wondering what the heck is going to happen next so if an intriguing storyline is your biggest focus lone echo is the game for you okay so next up we have the roguelite in-depth unchained now i do have to point out that the in-chained version is the oculus quest version and updates to the pcvr version stopped quite some time ago now in death unchained is a gothic themed journey through purgatory where you use a bow and arrow or crossbow to take down hordes of hellish fiends it's creepy the combat is excellent and that roguelite gameplay loop is just addictive the developers are also constantly running challenges pumping out new modes and recently introduced seasoned content it's a truly unique game that just about anyone will enjoy speaking of games that anyone will enjoy we've finally made it to the must play section these are the games that score 9.0 and above they're a shining example of what vr should be and they're undeniably excellent so first on that list is vader immortal this epic star wars tale has you getting up close and personal with darth vader himself it features a compelling story about the history of the planet mustafar and it lets you live out your jedi dreams it also has some of the best graphics on the oculus quest and the pcvr version looks absolutely stunning after you blast through the campaign there's a dojo mode for a ton of replay value vader immortal is a vr title that everyone should try just like our next game beatsaber who would have known that slicing blocks with a lightsaber while listening to music would turn into an absolutely amazing game beat saber is extremely addictive highly competitive and just a really fun way to spend some time in virtual reality the official song list has grown so much since launch and now features professional artists like linkin park they've added 180 and 360 modes for people who want to take it to the next level and you can now compete against your friends in online multiplayer the game is also a great way to introduce people to vr and can be quite fun in a party environment now if you're more of a shooter type the next must play game is pavlov vr pavlov is undeniably counter-strike in vr it has all those same mods that you know from counter-strike like ttt and prop hunt the gun mechanics are absolutely excellent but still maintains some arcadey feel which helps to increase the mainstream appeal pavlov is hands down the most popular pcvr shooter and it just recently received a huge world war ii update now if world war ii isn't enough for you the steam workshop integration has tons of other game modes like the call of duty zombie maps if you don't own this game go buy it right now just like our next title vertigo remastered vertigo remastered is half-life meets rick and morty it's an epic quirky single-player shooter with tons of surprises it's honestly one of the most fleshed-out vr single-player campaigns it also recently received a new dlc package with an amazing custom level editor so after you play through this game and absolutely love it i have some good news vertigo 2 is coming out later this year now if you think vr is all about shooters our next title is a platformer and that's astrobot rescue mission astrobot is absolutely amazing and just like the character quill from moss you'll feel like you form a bond with astro vr adds a whole new dimension to a standard platformer and the developers really knew how to highlight this by making creatures come right up to your face putting you up against huge bosses where the scale is really emphasized while you're in pr and just filling the game with unexpected wow moments that could only happen in vr now if astrobot is too childish for you our next title is not for the faint of heart and that is resident evil 7. on flat screen resident evil is already an amazing title but when you virtually dive into it it's just on another level things go from scary to absolutely terrifying you appreciate the detail in characters and objects so much more and your need for a diaper also increases so if you ever wanted to experience what it's like to be trapped in a house with a bunch of psychotic people here's your chance guys and while we're on this spooky theme we have to talk about the walking dead saints and sinners saints and sinners delivers a compelling storyline intense combat and just some absolute brutality it's amazing how you'll never get bored of cracking a zombie's head open or stabbing them with a knife for those who originally found the game too slow paced the trial update brought some amazing wave based combat so go ahead and try and survive the zombie apocalypse while you scavenge for new items craft new weapons and occasionally engage the locals now the only game out there that tops the walking dead in melee combat is boneworks the combat in boneworks amazes me every single time i play it doesn't matter if you're grabbing an enemy by the neck and smashing their head into the wall stabbing them with a spear or pumping a couple rounds in them from an mp5 in every single case it just feels so satisfying boneworks has the most advanced vr physics system and it's just improved over time the single player campaign is a quirky mess that people either love or hate but for me boneworks really shines in its sandbox modes i will just load up the arena and keep fighting enemies until i'm physically too tired to keep playing when i'm looking for something a bit more chill i'll open up the sandbox and play with weird things like the balloon gun boneworks is an excellent template of how all future vr shooters should be made now if you're looking for online combat then you have to check out star wars squadrons this game is a dream come true for star wars fans you get to jump in iconic starships and engage in battles that feel like they're right out of the movies the attention to detail is fantastic the online competition is fierce and the game also has a 10 hour single player campaign oh and it also just so happens to be one of the best looking vr games you can play speaking of great looking games we have asgod's wrath if you're looking for an rpg in vr this is the game to play the single player campaign is easily over 30 hours there's multiple different characters at your disposal to level up each one playing completely different you unlock these really cool animal companions that you can also level up and this game really knows how to deliver a story in vr you'll jump in and out between a mortal and god mode which gives you a vastly different perspective of the world there's also a ton of different challenges that you can keep coming back to this game for now our next game might not have as much content as as god's wrath but you could spend just as much time playing it and that's population 1. population 1 is vr's battle royale the game features that same addictive gameplay loop that you find in any other popular battle royale but vr takes this title to the next level you can physically climb and fly around the map now mechanically the game remains pretty simplistic there are physical reloads but they're nothing like pavlov or onward this ends up creating a game with a huge mainstream appeal basically everyone loves this game and it's the most popular vr online shooter with crossplay it also seems like every other week the developers are giving us a new special event and season 1 is about to begin which is adding melee weapons and light machine guns so i'll see you guys in game okay guys here we are the number one vr title i'm pretty sure you can guess what it is and that is half-life alex this game was worth the near 13-year wait for a new half-life title it has hands down the best graphics we've seen in a vr title the environments are extremely immersive the storyline is compelling and it has some of the creepiest vr moments i've ever experienced the game is an absolute masterpiece from beginning to end with phenomenal pacing now this game also features some truly rememberable moments i won't mention them just in case you haven't played it yet but after you did come back and let me know what moments stood out to you okay guys that's my list but don't go anywhere just yet there's a few other games that i have to mention that i failed to talk about i know you guys are gonna mention hot dogs horseshoes and hand grenades in the comments there's also skyrim fallout and medal of honor first up with h3 i just haven't played the game enough to understand its appeal yet it has some amazing gun mechanics but i really need to play it a lot more to figure it out now personally i was not a fan of fallout 4 so i just avoided it in vr and i will agree that skyrim vr is absolutely amazing especially if you add about 100 mods but when i got skyrim vr i was already burnt out on skyrim so when i installed the game i was like oh great i'm just playing skyrim again and then i spent about three hours adding mods and decided i'm just not in the mood for this but it is an excellent title that should be near the top of the list and finally we have medal of honor above and beyond well for me this game ran like absolute crap on an rtx 3090 an i9 9900k it also then started crashing now i did play it on a rift s on another pc and it was running fine and that machine only had a 2080 ti but at that point i was just sick of the game and the online player base was completely dead so i returned it and unless there is a severe discount i'll most likely never play this game ever again okay everybody that was today's video and i really hope you enjoyed it this honestly took hours upon hours to put together so i would appreciate a thumbs up if you're new here consider subscribing and as always i will see you guys on next time you
