hello YouTube today we're gonna be covering five things you should know before buying anime figures let's begin our first item on the list is also the most important and that is budgeting as obvious as this one may seem this hobby is highly addictive and even a single figure can be expensive if you're anything like me whenever you see a cool figure for sale you'll mark it down on a wish list or maybe even add it to cart just be extremely careful when browsing these anime sites because they're very good about advertising deals which can quickly suck you into buying more than you originally intended buy one get another with free shipping may not always be the right decision especially if you're only getting the second figure because it's a good deal rather than because you actually want it and the next thing on our list is storage figure display and box storage are two critical aspects to figure collecting if you don't have any more space to display figures on your shelves don't buy more you should first prioritize picking up either a new shelf or clearing out some space otherwise those figures are just gonna collect dust as they sit in their boxes also a question I see all over Reddit and MFC or my figure collection is whether or not figure boxes are worth keeping since they do take up a great deal of space in my opinion they definitely are worth keeping because it helps them retain resale value in case one day you decide to sell your figures so the next question is where do I store these boxes garages attics basements and closets are all great places to consider don't worry about the box getting dusty because you can always wipe them clean the day you decide to sell the figures personally though I store my boxes behind a chair in the corner of my room since it's just convenient if you put your mind to and I'm sure you could come up with a creative option for storing your figure boxes thirdly we're going to be talking about pre-owned figures as your another great world of figure collecting it is incredibly likely that you will purchase a pre-owned figure at some point in time these can be much cheaper than retail price despite being in great condition so these are a great alternative for assisting you in trying to pick up your Grail 1/4 scale Bunny figure however pre-owned figures can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing make sure you stick to sites like mandarake Omni Omni or Soler's Japan when purchasing those to be safe if you would like a more detailed guide on purchasing pre-owned figures and how to distinguish a real figure from a bootleg then check out the video I made on bootlegs which I'll have suggested in the top right hand corner of your screen moving down our list fast and furious we are on number 4 already where to discover new and unique figures so there are plenty of great resources for browsing anime figures on the internet but the three that I use the most are a subreddit my figure collection and ami ami so the subreddit is our front slash anime figures which is an awesome community with over 50,000 collectors who constantly share their hauls I've learned about hundreds of rare more obscure figures through the subreddit and is also just a great community to be a part of where you can share your own collection with others the other two places I recommended my figure collection are MF C has a leaderboard for figures along with just thousands and thousands of users who publicly share their collections and images other figures each and every day so I definitely recommend you check them out and lastly ami ami if you have not heard of this before this is literally the number one top site to purchase figures from highly renowned in the anime community so definitely check that out get on it if you have not taken a look before so finally we're gonna be closing with figure maintenance today this is a pretty common question to my surprise and I guess to a lot of others but this is something that's talked about all over YouTube just because so many people are wanting to know about it a lot of people are concerned what do I do if my figures are all dusty or even just get some dirt on them so there are tons of guides on how to take care of your figures on YouTube and if you're really curious I suggest you just check those out but all I can tell you is that at the end of the day these figures are just PVC they won't be harmed by little dust so don't sweat over it every two months or so if you notice your collection is looking a tad gray just grab a paper towels soak it with water and clean them off that's enough in my opinion for figure care with all that said this video has concluded so good luck to all you new figure collectors and remember to respect wallet Kune see ya
