okay so just like the gordon's tips video i did the other day i thought i do on site um basically whenever i do a scythe guide i end up doing a golden triathlon whenever i do go it's gonna end up doing the sci-fi after so yeah only makes sense um if this video you know does help you or you enjoy it or anything then you know consider subscribing if you're not already and even if you are you might not be so you know check and um let's just get into it so i don't really know what to go over first i think i have five tips sir right just like little little things written down you know i don't screw my videos come on you know this it's a you know it's a lock on video when i fumble over my words 600 times in the like the first 10 seconds so i think first i'm gonna go over like how to read on scythe because that is a loud car because a lot of people ask me right but like how do i know because i mean i've done a lot of scythe guides right um on like dodge reads and things like that and people will ask me after this watching those videos like how do you how do you know which way they're going to dodge to be able to get these reads and it's literally like you don't know that's what it is it's a read you're expecting something right so what you're gonna do right at the start of the game on scythe okay if you know they're gonna dodge in for example right like you can't just be you can't just guess they're gonna dodge in and go for something like this at the start of the game because that's dumb right that that's a dumb thing to do because it's so specific this only catches like two dodges right and yeah it works well for an indulge but you don't know they're gonna dodge in yet it's the start of the game what you want to do is there's two things right and the second thing is that the second tip i think i'll give so the first tip is at the start of the game when you hit a move just chase stored through right and see what happens right try and keep stay tuned to after hitting it as well so you'll see here like if i hit a and like that right i'm gonna just wait and see what they're gonna do i'm not gonna go for anything anything crazy like this because it'll get punished really easily i'm not gonna you know um just straight away go for that and i said nice thing like i'm gonna wait see which way they dodge okay for example they dodge after an end light they dodge like down right instead of going for this straight away to start the game i'm gonna like do this chase dodge right and then i can react first of all so like you know it's pretty easy to react to right but then next time that i hit an end like i know they're dodging down and then that's when i can get oh i messed up but like i know they're touching down so that's when i can get all this like it's just something you have to do you have to get a move see what they do right but don't go for like a really hard punish for us don't go for like you know um if they're gonna dodge what's like a really really specific read i guess the one i did at the star wars was pretty specific like don't go for anything like this because like yeah it works but you don't know they're gonna do that go for something safe like like this that's pretty safe if you miss right um and it will catch a couple dodges and if they don't dodge that way that's fine but make note of which way they dodge so that you know next time they do dodge like that you see i didn't straight away just go and you know try and follow up and do something crazy you'll hit something like this and then you just wait see what they do and then they do that you're like okay next time i know they do that and i'm gonna get a punish you didn't die but anyway you uh you know what i'm trying to say um but that goes into the second tip obviously you know scythe is a weapon with no true combos it has a few i know but they're not useful right apart from the wool ones the ones off the wall like the there into there and the there into ground pound like that they're useful but like you might be thinking well surely i can't just spend the entire game hitting you know one move wait and see which way they dodge punching it the next time i hit that specific move sometimes you need to just go for things right and the best thing you can do on scythe is go for a heavy side light because and the stage is quite small i'm gonna move him or her i guess uh this way just so i have a bit more you know room on the stage heavy side light you can actually just go for 50 50 read two options cover all the dodges i think there's quite a few people who made a video on this but that will cover neutral dodge it'll cover up right it'll cover uh won't cover right it'll cover down like that uh what does it cover probably in yeah um you can see like what i'm going for here and then the second option is chase dodging forward and doing it and not cover up right down and right uh wait you guys was just right there we go and like those two options the chase storage turn around that night and the just chase door jet night cover every single dodge and out of that you get guaranteed about 55 damage you get all that for free but all that is guaranteed if you do that you get the side light enlighten there sir and it's free if you don't mess up like i just did off of every single like one of these um you can get all that guaranteed so heavy side light is some definitely a better option to go for if you don't know if you don't have a reed then a heavy side light is definitely your best option because you know if you're trying to do this like i even messed up and i knew which way he was going to dodge okay i guess you can't do it but i mean something like this i don't even know yeah it's going to do a lot more damage in the first one but it's not guaranteed because you don't know where they're going to dodge this is literally just luck doing this and then trying to react to it like oh i guess you know going for the 50 50. including the name it's 50 50. you're gonna get a 50 at the time and you're not going to get 50 of the time um and then yeah let's just say something you can go for if you have no idea about any of their habits yet it's just a it's a safe little option you could you can definitely get punished if you miss but 50 50 decent odds um anyway next i want to talk about d light just as a move d light it's a weird one because a lot of people use this move wrong uh on scythe the way you should and like i don't want to say you use like you're using me wrong even though i was a bit of a tongue twister for me i think i'm just dumb but like the way you should be using d light isn't to engage because people see cypher and they're like okay i have this pretty short range i have this this is extremely short range uh i can dash up there but like people will just think okay this guy's playing passive so i'm gonna just be like on it you know i have a bit extra range it'll work that's not what you should be using it for for engagement and type you should just be trying to get in on your opponent make them like they are like bait out a move from him and um get a punish right like you place you can play cypher aggressively but passively as well if that makes sense so you'll be putting on pressure but you won't be attacking until you like know you're gonna hit the move um because like other weapons and weapons like soldiering just throw our hair boxes and they'll hit but scythe you have to really know that your move is gonna hit so uh yeah um d light as well it has a lot of end lag like they're not here but you can see like it's pretty you know punishable definitely so you want to be using this move to punish not not to engage you want to be using this move just to punish so if i set this ai to i mean if i give it like something long range okay so a blast is sidelight can i even can i even do that so i already said about you know not engaging with d like it's not the best of that so you might wonder what can you do with it i mean first of all obviously edge guarding like it's very safe to go for and can result in very very early kills especially if you get a read and also off stage as well when they're trying to get back to stage a gcd light it covers a lot of like i mean it has a lot of range even and um if you do the heavy version after when you kick forward there's a good chance the stock is gone but with this orion okay and this is this is the main use of d light on scythe it is an insane punish tool right you should be using daylight to punish more than anything you see you have an end light here right he's done that and light if i try and punish now with the sidelight the a knight's already over he's gonna back dash right any lance player right now they know like this orion will back dash and punish my punish if that makes sense that makes sense right so like i would try and sidelight he'd back dash and side like me in my own lag of my side like if that makes sense i mean it's confusing but yeah a d light though has a lot of range and can just instantly take it like instantly punish with no chance of it you know messing up like it would you know a side light like you might run into the actual hitbox and by then by the time i'd actually gone to punish it there he would have already backlashed especially if i try and do an end light like that's even worse but i'm inside like don't get me wrong you can punish your enlightened sidelight but for like when you need range to punish a d light will do it more than better than anything else can and you know if you like you can get a lot of cool stuff off of um i mean what's jumping but you just gonna take my word for it another thing which people use for used to engage a lot and i can stop this guy and lying now hopefully was wait what what's going on hey stand there we go anyway it's dash jump dez loads of people will try and engage with dash jumpers right and it's not the worst idea in the world like don't get me wrong like you can definitely engage your dashboard as but that as well it's a pretty insane punish tool because right and we're gonna have to do it again we're gonna have to we're gonna have to get him spamming this move it's going straight to my ears i just anyway you can see that with a dash jump there you get completely above the hitbox right which is like pretty insane because a lot of weapons can't even hit above them for on the ground you know lance is one uh blasters is one uh if we can go like any other legend um gauntlets kind of can you know guitars can spear can but a lot of weapons can't so these dash them dares to punish very safe a lot of the time and you know while you can definitely engage with that from there i think it's definitely safer to be punishing with it and um i think that's about it pretty light and dashing there my fifth and final tip before we get into a game and try and like show some of this stuff off would be to just not over extend off stage um very obvious thing but at the same time like if you're playing scythe your clips are your life force right you're trying to get clips you need to get clips you know to fuel you and like it's very easy to find yourself wasting all your options off stage trying to get a game and then oh i can't make it back and then they make it back and you've lost the game and even in rank two even if you're not going for glitz like just a lot of the time you're just gonna end up sdn because you know they can just keep doing one jump whereas you're expending that i mean that jump refreshes as well like and yours are just you just keep using them trying to get the you run out they still just have kept like surviving of refresh jumps and stuff and like they make it back and you don't and it's annoying like for example you can see me doing this right if you miss this look how far okay i just hit it but if you miss it look how far you fall right that's just that one example another example would be a lot of people on scythe would go for a double dare to try and get a full read look how easy this is to punish and to like just kind of counter generally all you have to do that is turn around here and on there you know stuff a recovery and you completely turned around because the side players just gone for like an actual like really risky old stage play which if it hit granted would be very good like if it hit you'd be sorted like their stock is gone not yours but if it doesn't it's it's just really risky and that's it it goes back to the first point i think it was the first point of like you need to hit this first right and be like what do they do when i hit this you see the dodge in right or you just go with something safe after hitting it like um i don't know you go for like a recovery like that that's pretty safe uh for the most part and that'll catch like a spot dodge and a drum stuff like that but you'll see oh they dodged in so you know once you get in the situation again you can be like okay let's get the door in punish and they jump after their recovery boom and like you just need to pay attention to what they're doing so that you don't make the mistake straight away so that you know it's going to hit before it hits like you have to plan ahead when you play siphon that's why i just don't feel like it's a very good weapon compared to a lot of weapons because you definitely have to plan ahead too much when you're doing it down to d like you combo and accident getting like 60 damage but it has its weaknesses it has its strengths and i think that's about it for all the tips and stuff uh we'll just get into like a game of experimental or something um so as you can actually watch like the sixth time i've done zero to that for the last couple seconds but i have yeah we'll get into like a game experimental and try and show some of this stuff off uh if we can and um yeah i'll see you in the game we've got our first match here against this uh against the snake so i guess only match because i don't think i'll play another one it should be enough i'm just gonna you know talk about what's going through my head as i'm on scythe you can instantly see a dodge happening in there so try and keep that in mind uh no dodge here so i'm gonna go for all this three damage and um yeah i mean we have double the size which means double the things for me to talk about which is definitely ideal um i didn't want to go for anything there because i didn't really know what he would do afterwards that was guaranteed so i could go for that i think he'll stare on stage here he did and you can see me there going for that d light to uh try and get the max range punish unfortunately he missed but we still cleaned up anyway and um i could have easily just overextended that and right now he'd have you know taken the first stop instead of me but um and that's kind of what you have to get used to not seeing a dodge at all after that so okay so he does dodge enlightener and he seems to dodge in so we got that and he jumps after a turnaround there which is probably one of the most important things to keep track of uh because you can see there like he had no dodge but i still had to get that jump rope that jump or full reed to be able to obviously end that stock then and uh yeah that's one of the first things you should try and look for is you know when you hit a center on that be like okay what do they do now do they turn around i mean do they jump even turn around do they jump until they fall because that's just as important as dodgers on scythe it's like fast fool and jump reads uh that stock goes to him though and um we will uh we'll see if we can have a better about a third stock i'm guessing a dodge in no i do know that if i hear an enlightening so we'll try and do that and try and get like a cool punish off i don't know oh i messed up i just i want this i really do want this he dodged away that time he got yeah okay so this is the thing as well on scythe and it's something i didn't really talk about and see now he's dodging away like 100 of the time and it's up once you like read someone's dodge a certain way enough times they'll start to like actually adapt to it and be like okay i need to dodge a different direction and then like your entire game plan can just go out the window so like you do need to be ready for that in order to be able to punish it uh we did lose that stock to an nzig um it's quite interesting i kind of want to get off corners here so i can show like how i would handle you know uh like the end of a end of a stock kind of scythe situation and a lot of the time i'm just going to be going for ground pounds and dares at the end of a stock um and some stairs here i'll be able to hit a d light like that and that's that's my punish tool and once again you like i thought i'd play a second game just because that first one was pretty short but like you saw the end there how do you like just has so much range i had enough range to punish that sarah into stage and had enough range to catch him coming back to stage gonna get his weapon here and don't just end like now it looked like he dodged um up and up and in or something didn't even know not gonna lie it's like seven seven a.m right now for me so uh yeah okay so up and in dodges a lot of that he has no dodge here so i can get all that damage for free and yeah okay so afternoon again so a lot of opening and we'll try and make it uh a pointer to punish that wow that was something that was definitely something probably will stare on the stage here um and you like no okay you didn't sir which is good on his end because if he had them i mean he could obviously see why obviously he could obviously see that i was uh trying to space it and punish it so yeah good uh good move on his part didn't dodge up and in there he only spot dodged after that night which hasn't done that all game so it's quite weird and people are inconsistent sometimes you shouldn't expect people to be consistent in their dodgers because if they are they're doing a bad job so you know people will mix it up a lot he is you know dodging um or using these spot dodges a lot trying to get the the d lights on blasters so i managed to punish that and get loads of free damage inside with it and you saw that i i knew he was gonna you know try and come back up on stage to grab his weapon so i um just decided because it covers perfectly over the lip and um managed to get the ko there i think i had this dodge there so i probably should have just done something but this is bonus we don't care i'm just gonna throw it away and uh oh how have i been clipped in my own video nah nah i'm not happy about that i can't lie all right let's see if we can carry on though take this game see again spot dodge so we'll try and remember that um right now it's not looking good for us though see it's pretty hard against people sometimes i mean this guy's like diamond and i can tell he's obviously good at the game so he knows what he's doing uh i get grump on there to finish it off but i couldn't get the best of um examples but like i hope you pick some things up and i hope you enjoyed the video uh all in all and uh yeah i'm gonna absolutely pass out now because it's it's past
