fallout 4 has a lot of Secrets on the channel in the past I've talked about numerous secrets or mysteries held within the game things people are still trying to figure out just a few days ago I posted about how one of the biggest secrets in the game has been solved but that's led to even more mystery although with many of those secrets the real gist of it is a lower base secret trying to seek an explanation around what happened or what's actually going on in a given situation well in this video I wanted to do something a little bit different rather than just focusing on lower based secrets today we're gonna be taking a look at functional secrets things you can actually do in this game not just hypothetically but actually that you probably didn't know an option that was so obscure or so difficult to achieve that most people just passed it up or didn't even know it existed and although some of you may know one or two on this list I have to imagine the vast majority will not know all of them some of these are ridiculously obscure or hard to achieve but kicking things off let's first take a look at everybody's favorite side quest in fallout 4 that with the silver shroud the silver shroud quest is a pretty interesting one basically after tuning into a radio signal named the silver shroud radio you're going to meet up with somebody named Kent who really believes in the silver shroud and basically wants you to become him a masked vigilante dealing with some of the worst criminals or Foe around good neighbor throughout this quest Kent Connelly really acts as the cornerstone the person that believes in the you of the person that gives you your additional tasks and really the driving force behind the silver shroud so now a bunch of you are probably thinking right now I'm gonna talk about the hidden dialog you can get when wearing the silver shroud costume but no although that is a thing in Fallout 4 if you wear this costume and talk to certain NPCs you'll get unique dialogue options unmask yourself and stand ready judgment there are plenty of videos covering that it's not really what I wanted to focus on here well you go through the silver shroud quest taking down higher and higher profile foes eventually they get wind of Kent and actually capture him Sinjin and his goons hold him hostage and the final segment of this quest is actually saving Kent but of course also killing Sinjin as you get to the stage you really have two major options you have the opportunity to actually talk your way out of this alternatively could just go guns blazing but there's actually kind of a third option not many people knew about so as you exit the elevator into this final room if you actually just immediately shoot Kent and kill him this again being you're almost companion and friend throughout this entire quest so that is actually pretty messed up well if you do this you'll get this reaction you get a totally shocked and speechless engine his guards or goons think you're even crazier than their leader and from here you a few dialog options we can make it so the goons will actually turn on Sinjin if you pass a speech check but if you do this action in general no speech checks required all the goons won't actually attack you they're just gonna run away from you because they think you're terrifying yourself to fight Sinjin but now that he is kind of astonished it is a much easier fight and oddly enough even though morally this is probably the worst possible outcome as far as the easiness of finishing this quest goes especially on something like survival mode this is without a doubt the easiest outcome possible you disarm a few enemies with no skill checks required just actually killing one other dude but they've already from that somebody who's kind of similar to the silver shroud also we do have the mechanist the mechanist quest and quest line was actually the first DLC to Fallout 4 and it was a pretty interesting one having to go from location to location crafting some robots along the way but eventually this leads to you actually breaking into the old robco building which happens to be the mechanist lair so if you have never played fallout 4 and survival maybe this doesn't really stand out to you too profoundly but in survival mode and clearing through this layer is ridiculously difficult because there's just constant waves of enemies and it's really hard to keep track of all of them so this may give you a little bit of alternative with that as you actually break into this lair initially there's this weird master tier terminal it's placed right next to an elevator you could actually hack this terminal most people probably think oh it's an alternate route it'll just give me access to that elevator after passing that check you find no it actually requires further authorization as you can see listed on this terminal so it seemingly was all for nothing maybe a piece of cut content or something but naturally as you're seeing it in this video no there actually is something you can do here as you progress through this facility occasionally you're gonna find holotapes by heads of departments these are actually pretty typical lead engineer Thomas Harkin so far we're tracking on schedule for the latest Robo brain milestone dr. Sante has assured me that the active time between memory wipes has been greatly increased they give you a little bit of backstory as to what was going on prior some of the issues some of these people were having and they're almost identical to holotapes you would find in other dungeons pretty similar to this one but these holotapes once you actually find all three of them do you hold a secret key as these are actually the key to getting that elevator working so you'll find the first one of these pretty early on while clearing through this but the last one is actually in the second-to-last room so you have to clear out almost all of this dungeon to actually achieve this then after finding all three you're gonna have to waddle all the way back to the start of this dungeon running through all those areas you're just cleared work your way back up to that terminal and this is I think what gets a lot of people you insert the holotapes one by one into this terminal but immediately it doesn't actually seem like anything happens you have to let the holotape play in its entirety like it would on any other terminal then the terminal will actually reflect a speech recognition check after loading in all three the elevator will open once again this being some kind of bypass to actually gain access to this and from there you can find the mechanist diligently working who is absolutely astonished you managed to bypass that high level of security you underestimated me but then after that unique dialogue it is kinda reverting to just how you typically would interact with the mechanist at the end of this quest although of course by doing this you don't actually have to deal with the final room of the mechanist which can prove to be the most difficult again on survival mode with this one I'm not sure it's actually better although you avoid the final room you still have to clear out the rest of that dungeon but even further you have to run all the way back to the start of it which does take a decent amount of time the mysterious serum is swell a mysterious item in Fallout 4 you actually get this by doing the Cabot house quest line it's an interesting item in that you can get multiple of these but only one at a time like if you have one on your character even back at your workshop Cabot won't give you another one until you actually use that other one although totally separate from this in Far Harbor you might know Andre Andre is a sickly dude that you can try and fix up that you do find laying in a bed an interesting interaction with him if you don't actually tend to him fast enough you'll just die and there won't be anyone on this bed anymore but and you're probably connecting the dots here while curing Andre if you happen to have a mysterious serum in your inventory you could actually use that as one of the potential cures although this can be pretty costly if you decide to use the mysterious serum this way it doesn't seem like you'll actually be able to get any more by Cabot so a relatively minor interaction but definitely a cool one by Bethesda taking one of those relatively obscure items you find in the base game of Fallout 4 and actually giving it usage and functionality in Far Harbor just giving a little bit more merit as to why Far Harbor is one of the best DLCs for Fallout 4 for a lot of people when you actually begin fallout 4 climbing out of vault 111 for the first time one of the very first things you do is actually run to sanctuary and meet up with codsworth and my initial playthrough and in numerous of my subsequent playthroughs this is how I spent those first five minutes actually is a pretty good companion right off the bat but what if you didn't do that what if you just left codsworth there played through the rest of Fallout 4 made your way all the way to the Institute made some decisions around Shawn or father although really his feet is kind of sealed one way or the other and somehow during all of that never stepped foot in sanctuary a lot of people probably don't think that's possible but you can just totally ignore the minutemen just go directly to some of the other factions do their quests and then beat the game that way well as you probably guessed again by the title of this video this too gives you some unique dialogue typically when interacting with codsworth he'll ask you what happened to your wife and to your son you'll have answers for your wife because well you witnessed her murder but with your son codsworth typically just insists hey let me tag along to help you find him but if you've already met Shawn and gotten his backstory you could explain to codsworth what exactly is going on with him this is like a really cool attention to detail I imagine not many people have actually gotten this in-game because again it's kind of hard to do to actually avoid sanctuary all throughout the game most people just hit this up right after the start but if you somehow avoid this throughout the entire game then you're gonna get a cool and very special dialogue option the general atomics gallery is actually a pretty interesting location and fallout 4 it was a pre-war demonstration on what a town could look like if it was run entirely by robots in there there's a couple of quests you can do and that's probably how most of you spent your time there one of the areas there is a bowling alley that you can try to Bowl out to some degree of success but if you enter into the bowling alley you do get this pretty interesting piece of dialogue that is a pretty insane ask paper money although no longer being the main currency still has quite a bit of value somebody actually crunched the numbers on this and $5,000 in USD would be worth around seven thousand and change caps Li the way most of you probably just had to chuckle at this and continued on but what if by some miracle alert by council commands you actually had five thousand dollars on your character not caps but dollars well this too will gain you some additional dialogue a little bit of a unique interaction I can't believe I'm actually doing this unfortunately it seems like even though Bethesda kind of thought about this and added that nice little attention to detail it kind of stops there no robots ever come along to help you play this game I think it actually would have been really cool if something different occurs here and in fact if you go back to that robot he's gonna ask for another $5,000 and this time since you already gave them the first five thousand you probably won't be able to satisfy them we do the way yeah that's a look at five hidden or secret options you have in Fallout 4 a lot of these being focused around unique or different dialogue that you probably didn't know these steps to get and you know hopefully you found this video informative it is so pretty crazy even four years after release I am learning a lot of you stuff about this game things I just didn't know you could do I do want to give one disclaimer though for one of the clips that was a little bit different than the rest naturally filming this video took a while because in order to get these unique interactions I basically had to play through all the vanilla quests like I had to do all of the quests in the robot DLC to get to the final stage of the robot DLC but for the unique codsworth interaction I actually use somebody else's clip this is not because I'm super lazy I guess I'm kind of lazy but I actually did play through much of Fallout 4 his main story to get to that point but when I actually did get to that point after meeting father and finding out some of his backstory I believe some of the mods I was using actually messed up his dialogue so it would never pop up for me with the only other option being to literally start anew throw and beat the game so yeah but either way again hopefully you found this informative it was a lot of fun to make I think it's definitely an interesting video but with that as always again I thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed this one and I hope to see you all next time later
