all right um i know i tore up a lot of equipment on this load it happens you know sometimes it just goes that way all right we're over here in toledo ohio loading up getting our load going down to uh um i can't think of the name down to texas oh laredo there we go ah so anyway this is what we got they told me it was going to be a nasty tarp job we got to tarp this at first i was going to run my big straps across the top underneath the tarp but what i'm going to do is i'm going to tarp it and then i'm going to throw some straps over the top that wind out in west texas can blow pretty hard so uh they'll use that to hold the tarp down organic plenty of padding put across the top put a piece of cladding on the front there and piece of padding in the back so this right here and that'll be another reason for the straps so this will be a gap right here and then um we'll uh put a strap here and put a strap there and that'll hold that gap and then we're gonna put a piece of padding on the back back here got plenty of padding so let's do the only drawback is i'm out here by myself so uh i'm gonna dig out the other ladder take my time i think we got about uh three hours left in daylight get this done uh and i'll keep you updated on the progress we make here so talk in a bit all right we got it done it's 4 30. so this took about two and a half hours now i call these big tarps my money makers because i don't get these out for uh very often unless i'm going to do good this load down to loretta does pretty good so as you can see i put the straps over the top there and that's to help with the wind and uh the straps underneath are actually holding the items to the trailer these straps here just pretty much they're holding the stuff down but they're more so to keep the tarp on there from flopping around i used every piece of padding i had i used my little ladder both my little ladders and ain't gonna lie it was a little scary up there it was a little scary but we got it done so hopefully it won't be that bad to untarp oh okay over to the truck stop get a shower call it quits today's thursday we got friday saturday sunday to get down to laredo texas so talk to you in a bit all right good morning so we got loaded yesterday um we're over here in perrysburg ohio almost said pennsylvania ohio at the petro just a fuel aisle right there and actual truck stop buildings down that way um the paperwork said this load only weighed about 20 000 pounds and we got it got about 1500 miles down to um laredo so i wanted to see how heavy i was on the trailer axle so that's my steer axle right there that's my drive axles and then i already put the axle up so that's how much weight is on that back axle right there and my gross weight is 47 000. so we're allowed 20 000 pounds on this axle right here when the axle is up now if we were heavy we would have 12 000 up here 34 here and then 34 here so so we'll go i'll go outside i'll go outside and explain it now that weight ticket cost 12 to figure this out so hopefully i saved twelve dollars worth of fuel going down to uh laredo but uh anyway i was curious i had a feeling that it was okay just by looking at the weights so so because those axles are grouped together like that we're about 34 000 right there [Music] because this is a what they call a spread axle so this is a spread axle i'm allowed 20 000 pounds on that axle and 20 000 pounds on that axle whereas this guy right here has got a freight trailer you see how the axles are together he's only allowed thirty four thousand now if he was to raise one of those axles up if he had the ability he'd be allowed twenty thousand pounds on that axle but because these are separated spread axle they're counted as two separate axles they're not counted as a tandem so anyway we got the axle up so we got what did i say 14 000 back here so we're doing good i think i showed you guys all this yesterday but we'll do a quick walk around real quick um we're gonna make our way down to uh effingham illinois illinois and get our oil changed so that's the plan for today so trying to stay out of all the brief spots but trucks looking good doing good but we're gonna get our oil changed and i'll talk in a bit all right good morning it's saturday we're in mount vernon illinois illinois it rained last night and my little patch job up here is leaking i woke up this morning there was water everywhere and it rolled it comes down through here down there but i did my walmart shopping and uh the tarp jobs holding up i got two spots where it's rubbing through look outside take a look at it real quick it's a little noisy out here yeah it rained pretty good last night i got the oil change so you can see right here so i got one good rip right there and then right at the same spot the other side i thought i had it good enough and i thought the tarp would like tp out far enough to where it wouldn't catch so you can see the metal part in there hopefully so what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna go ahead and get another two inch strap and i'm gonna run a two inch strap this way and i'm gonna run a two inch strap this way and there's not much i can do about that right now so what's in there is uh it's not really going to get hurt if it gets wet what they don't want is the road grime from the the rain water and everything getting on everything so but it's all metal in there there's no electric motors or anything like that yeah it's a little rough on the tops of winds is what's killing me all right let me fix that and we'll get going all right i think we're ready i doctored it up as enough as i could so we'll see how it does if not we'll do a lot of tarp patching i uh if you guys noticed on the last video when i turn the idle down on the truck the camera gets wavy and i think i fixed it so all right it's saturday from right here we got about 1200 miles down to uh laredo texas um i don't know how far we're getting we're getting somewhere in texas today i was looking to see how far it was down to dallas but i don't think we can make it to dallas so i got the oil changed yesterday at joe's truck loop in north wells illinois illinois indiana yeah let me try again i got the oil changed at joe's truck loop in effingham illinois across the street from the petrol first time i've been there i looked them up on google and uh they had really good reviews i was uh very impressed with the service they paying me they didn't give no discount they didn't know who i was but uh very impressed and i will definitely be going back there uh one thing was as soon as they opened the hood they're like what do you want us to do and i told them what i wanted them to do and what i did not want them to do i had just changed my fuel filters so i said just give me my just give me the fuel filters i'll take them with me i don't like people checking my air cleaners because i had them strip the bolt one time so i do all that stuff myself cat filters down the lucas rotilla oil truck lube trailer lube what else they do oh check the uh coolant for nitrates anyway out the door 380 which i didn't think that was that bad i've had people tell me why don't i do it at home and i probably could my problem is what am i going to do with 13 14 gallons of oil or how much oil it takes in there that's my issue is getting rid of the oil i'm watching in the mirror all the water just on top of the tarps is going everywhere it rained pretty good last night i didn't realize how much water was in the truck i woke up in the middle of the night and i could hear it rip flip dripping and uh i didn't know how bad it was i went back to bed i can get a bunch of towels out and wipe the floor down but we're gonna take care of that when we get home all right so we're gonna get down to uh matthews missouri to the ta truck stop and get some fuel so see when we get there all right i'm not too sure where i left off this video has thursday friday saturday today sunday uh we've been trucking right along we're uh we're in moore monroe more let me see hey i'm gonna say let me check more no take that back parasol we're in parasol yeah parasol texas we're about a hundred miles from um laredo i don't know why i can't think of that um we woke up early the morning took off uh i'm gonna stay here we're at a petrol i've never been to this petrol it looks like a nice petrol i haven't been i've been down to laredo in years so i mean like long long time i don't think i ever came down laredo with uh with mercer so but uh i look where we gotta go it should be easy so we're gonna unload tomorrow and then reload on tuesday there's another ta a little bit closer in relato laredo and that's where we're gonna go hang out tomorrow but uh man it rained like crazy today and the wind has been blowing let's go outside and go take a look at this go take a look at this poor tarp i probably look a little rough too because i need a shower oh real quick i'll give you so this is the petro it looks like a pretty new show i've never been here it's not that crowded either there's all kinds of parking back there but uh i was trying to find a flag it was the wind's blowing like crazy trucks doing all right i'm glad i did not wash the truck because it has rained most of the time oh man so here's our tarp job the wind has just been blowing like crazy this guy's got a little generator running so you can see the big hole right there so let me go the other side might be a little quieter so if i had to do it again probably what i done would have done and the guy asked me how to load the trailer and i told him how i wanted it so i'll take some of the blame so i don't know in the beginning of the video you'll see there's two pallets or there's there's a pallet right here and uh he asked me if i wanted those pallets in the front or the back and i said no put them in the middle so i could drape the tarp across and uh probably if i would have put them in the back because if you see right here well that one's got a hole too but i don't know you know sometimes it just goes like that you try but it's not an exact science anyway all right i'm gonna get a shower get cleaned up it's nice and quiet here uh make another video all right talk to you guys later thanks for watching [Music] all right we're down here in laredo it's a bad house oh my goodness i don't know what is going on here so we gotta go up here and make a uh left i think right i don't know i don't know all right all right i found a little spot to hide away and roll up tarps we got to go where all those flatbed trucks are here and we're behind this guy in that conestoga right there he's got the same stuff i do all right um i'm gonna lie i tore up a lot of equipment on this load it happens you know sometimes it just goes that way but i wanted to show you so let me get out of the sun here so you can see so you can see how i got it padded in the front and what tore everything up or these edges right here i'm gonna go around to the other side here so he asked me how i wanted to load the trailer if i had to do it again i would have i would take those pallets and put them in the back but i thought i could bridge it enough and that gap is what was tearing up the tarps and i didn't have enough padding you see i used a lot of padding so if i had to do it again i would have took these pallets put them in the very back and then brought the tarp down over that way but that's what tore everything up with those sharp edges right there and i thought i thought the tarp would tp out like this far enough and not catch it but the flopping around is what uh caught the edges so i tore up one half of a tarp pretty good uh i tore up three of these little straps you see that right there um i didn't tear up any big straps yet that i've seen so you know i'm not i'm i'm i'm frustrated but i'm not been out of shape mad stuff happens i tore up a tire in a rim what two three months ago so it happens you know stuff happens out here i'm not going to get bent up about it just lick my wounds keep going and try better next time so anyway i'm going to fill uh finish folding these tarps up and i'll talk to you guys in a bit you
