#462 Downtown Huntington West Virginia Again The Life of an Owner Operator FlatBed Truck Driver

hey you quarter fender guys oh if you had quarter fenders on the trunk you wouldn't get so much mud all over your truck all right good morning we are coming into downtown wheeling not wheeling downtown huntington west virginia i had the wrong west virginia we're uh we're gonna go pick up our load here deliver our load and then we're gonna reload we're gonna reload right where we deliver so uh huntington down here is one of my go-to places if i could usually get a load that goes to huntington area i always try to because i can usually get something out of huntington or get something out of work and the last time i did a video like this you guys really liked it got lots of views and the retention time was good retention time is how long you watch the video basically most videos about 50 of people watch half the video give or take a little bit but i found the driving videos that i make like this you guys like a lot so we will do another one from right here we got about a mile and a half and hopefully not too many traffic lights otherwise this mile and a half might take 10 minutes all right we got the green light i don't know that guy's going to the same place or not i've never seen him deliver that stuff before but this steel mill is right on the water i don't know what river that is the river's right over there it's right on the river downtown huntington so i'm sure years ago long long time ago huntington built around the steel mill marshall university is also here and where we gotta turn is like right in front of marshall so we're reloading picking up is going to lafayette indiana and it is a first come first serve over there so we don't have an appointment all right now we got the green light so this is the beginning over here on the left that's the beginning of marshall university right there make sure i do this right it's a little tight squeeze getting in here take the next night onto 20th street then your destination will be on the right the destination is some of these little bars like this place here i'd like to go check out one day looks pretty cool so we're going to come in here go across the scale get weighed and then we've got to go around the block to deliver this come back over get re-weighed and then we'll load up we should load up right now it should load up right in this little lot right here old cab over there that's an old one that's a mercer truck too i think he'd been around a while he got grandfathered in i ain't never seen that truck before all right let's see if we can squeeze this dorsi trailer going through the scale here train for today so now the problem is i have got to untarp this with all this stuff going on around me this is where they unloaded it last time all right we survived getting unloaded now we got to go back over where we were through this mud pit through this mud pit hopefully it'll tear nothing up he said to go to the left looks scary that looks scary all right let's see where we can do this hey this crane thing right here so a little sloppy right there so little train things moving make sure that little train thing's not moving all right i see freedom i see freedom [Music] i'm gonna plug in the gps where we gotta go so i know where to turn between bar and grill may not be opened oh it's lost the gps is lost wake up there you go now i got it all right all right it's the end of the day we made it over here to uh whitestown indiana we got about 40 miles over to deliver in the morning in lafayette we'll go outside real quick it has been a long day and tomorrow is going to be a long day here real quick i wanted to show you this two things i've got the reserve parking there is a couple parks see where he's parking right there but you notice most of the trucks that are parked in reserve parking are nice trucks see that guy's headlights right here so those headlights i want to get some headlights like those i like those headlights all right let's take a look at what we got so we loaded over there in huntington west virginia took a little while to gloat these are the cross members for trailer to go underneath now this aluminum trailer but there's these things right there but uh on a steel trailer that's what those are we got lucky they they only have 35 000 they usually they usually load three more or one two four more stacks on there but he said that was it for today so that's fine for me it loaded pretty good um we got uh well let me get back up in the truck here it's cold down here all right so uh we deliver tomorrow and then we're picking up a reload tomorrow going back up to detroit and then i took a load to laredo texas so that's going to be my weekend load we'll talk about that more though anyway all right it's the end of the day it's late i gotta go pay for my parking spot i think it's like 16 something like that but it's worth the peace of mind to uh to park so i tried to park where somebody all i had to do was back straight in so all right
