#318 Dead Batteries and PepsiCola Florida The Life of an Owner Operator Flatbed Truck Driver Vlog

get over to uh to Tyndale but I just want to say thanks tanner I appreciate it not a problem I appreciate it found everywhere house you guys are the best thank you alright this is not how I wanted to start my Monday morning the alternator on the generator is not putting out 12 volts still make electricity I woke up I woke up to the inverter screaming at me hang on one second I woke up and the inverter screaming at me so it says there's only seven seven point something votes left so I don't know how much longer the alternator is gonna run or because the generator does use the 12 volt little fuel pump I have the battery charger plugged in it's only a 50% the I have like battery pack all I need to do is get I was trying to find somebody as soon as I turn it off it's not gonna turn back on I was trying to see if I can find somebody that could just jump the generator have you changed the alternator on the TV come I have I have the new alternator I got a new alternator I've been carrying a backup alternator right here so so to wake up here in a minute I could pay somebody to give me a jump real quick can be expected let you know alright here's a little update I got the alternator replaced but the batteries on the truck are just too far gone there was only about 7 volts left on them I did have a guy he did try to jumpstart me and the truck dolphin line so I appreciate him coming over and trying to help me but I ended up calling battery warehouse over in Orange Texas which is about 15 minutes away I had to pay for them batteries there those are the old ones I'm just gonna put new batteries in there and get going that will probably be the quickest the batteries are so dead dead I did take hours to sit here and charge them so time is money and it might cost me a couple extra hundred bucks put batteries in but it gets me rolling because if I don't get rolling now I'd start missing out on loads and then I'll get stuck for a day or two waiting on another load so sometimes it's just worth a little bit of extra and you just got to take it in a teeth sometimes gonna get some new batteries put it in here and we should be rolling so the guy said it'd be about 15 20 minutes Cory's down here so plus I'm in the water as you see so that's not making it much fun but all right let me let me get ready for this guy and I'll keep you updated Thanks all right we got my batteries mr. Tanner from battery warehouse over an orange so hopefully they were greeting me the batteries I called her Riley's nobody with deliver I called love and all I was worried about with getting batteries and Tanner brought him out to me he's from Orange there's my three little batteries right there and we're gonna go ahead put those in the truck and then get out of here get over to uh to Tyndale but I just want to say thanks tanner I appreciate it I appreciate it battery warehouse you guys are the best thank you all right oh man okay batteries are in I've already started the truck everything looks good I want to give him I want to give another shout out to Tanner and battery warehouse and I actually have to give a little shout out to O'Reilly because I tried calling her the loves to have them come out they didn't want to work with me so I called O'Reilly and my initial plan was maybe like a uber to go get batteries or O'Reilly would deliver them the guy who Reilly's recommended that call battery warehouse so that's how I ended up calling them and I did not know that they deliver so that was a good deal so I called them and actually it was a pretty good price I got the three batteries for three hundred sixty eight dollars so that is in my opinion that's not a bad deal because we got rolling we're fixed and rolling so what happened was the alternator on the generator had went out and I had my electric fans on for the little radiator on the generator so those electric fans just sat there and sucked all the juice out of the batteries I tried to are I replace the alternator and then I tried to jumpstart it you know just jump start to generator but the batteries were so dead I have my inverter will give out a voltage reading and when I woke up this morning this thing was buzzing and I was like what time is that noise and so my inverter was now see right now my burger says it's 12 point 7 volts so the batteries it was down to six point eight this morning so it and and I probably could have charged the batteries but the amount of time that it would have took to charge to have somebody up come out here with the charger and do whatever would have been just as much to put brand new batteries in so I just went ahead put brand new batteries in so we should be good to go for a while I need a shower I'm a mess I got the batteries in and then I just pulled the truck forward so I was sitting in the water but I'm a mess and this was not how I wanted to start my Monday but let's get going let's go over to the petrol get some fuel I'm gonna get a much-needed shower and then we'll make our way over to as my wife says pepsi-cola love you Teresa over to Pensacola Florida so talk to you guys in a bit okay I got a much-needed shower I got a sandwich from Subway and I got some fuel from the bedroom but not quite in that order I did a fuel shower and then some trucks still running batteries are still doing good we still got juice we got about five five and a half hours over I want to get on the other side of pepsi-cola Pensacola Florida that is get on the other side of Pensacola and then Florida had had some really nice big rest areas so I don't think parking is going to be an issue my original plan this morning was to get over there's a love-struck stop and I was gonna try to get to the love-struck stop in time but by the time we get over there and they will not be any marking that that loves so we're gonna camp out at the ranch Taria but it's about five Google Maps is about five and a half hours over there that's car time so truck time will throw a little extra on top of that put that up get us over there we'll camp out and then that'll put us about farm tractor is not the smoothest Road right here that put us about two hours hour and a half from where we got to unload over again Tyndall Air Force Base so there's gonna be quite a few trucks over there so and they're probably gonna be busy but we need to get empty as soon as possible because our reload we have to be there between 11:00 and 1:00 I think or 11:00 and 3:00 something like that from there we got to make it up to so hopefully we won't have too many problems but no you know what I really got lucky on that battery deal that was my main concern was finding somebody that delivered the batteries that was my main concern and I'd had problems with those batteries for a while last time I've been home a couple times truck have been dead so hopefully that will solve some of my problems and it is starting to get hot outside my bunches are snapping I just watched to a break all right let's uh let's get out of here and it's driving in on [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay we made it over here to missus speed we're in Mississippi we're at the Welcome Center Mississippi on i-10 we're gonna go check our load out real quick from right here we got a little over 200 miles to we got to go I wanted it on a guy can see that in infini NASA Center there's a big like Space Center thing I think it's more of a science and our thing is neighborhood and that's pretty cool they got a big rocket out there maybe one day if I ever good time to stop at that infinity at NASA's Stein Space Center place and then there you can see the the bus with the NASA on it right there but one day I'd like to check that out it'd be pretty cool but this is the Mississippi Welcome Center I said we're just gonna check things out trucks running good no major issues traffic's a little heavy but it's flowing pretty good and then we're gonna hit mobile right around rush hour five o'clock and in Pensacola shortly after that so that's the interest to the space thing right there maybe one day this rest area is not too bad they've got a nice big parking it does fill up pretty quick though lots of travelers it's hot outside my temperature says it 96 degrees it's a little warm tomorrow is gonna be a hot sweaty dirty day we got it one tire get unloaded and then go reload luckily we don't have to tarp we're picking up hair conditioners tomorrow so that should be fairly easy to do let's go down here maybe we can find us quiet spot we'll pull in between these two guys right here Reles cable forklift looking thing so right let's go outside see what we got and I'll talk to you a bit all right it's a little noisy out here but we'll take a look let's see my my bungees are starting to break when it gets hot out it doesn't take much fun to break this one here I've had this plenty for a long time see how wore out that one is but this sides not doing too bad missing a bungee I'm not gonna worry about it right now we don't have that much further to go so I'm not too worried about it everything back here looks good we got all our tires there's a big ol forklift looking things big forklift looking things our tires back here now this side over here I don't know why I'm having such a hard time he's got his generator on it but you see I'm missing the d-ring right there fix it a big tear right there so I don't know why I've had such a hard time carving this load and then right here this right here is from it flopping right there got a lot of repairs to do on this tarp when we're done with it their zeal generator I already placed the alternator and I've already ordered another alternator from Amazon we're good on our all right we're good on our time we've got plenty of hours because we've got plenty of hours on our 8 hour clock so we're good there so we're alright alright let's get going and like I said we've got a little one for 200 miles to go get on the other side of mobile and the other side of pepsi-cola Pensacola call it a day so parking a bit all right it's the end of the day I'm actually in a pretty good mood I know maybe come to Florida put me in a good mood considering everything we had to deal with this morning oh I see loads doing good you know I've been thinking about wife has so much problems with this tarp and this load what why what'd I do did what I did different compared to the other time and I think it's because there's a hole in the back back here and somehow the air is either going back into the tarp and blowing it out but I have a feeling that if it was flat down and air couldn't get in there that it wouldn't flop around too much that's the only thing I can think of is why because I have fought this tarp flopping around all the way from Arizona but Trey looks good next week or tomorrow is the safety blitz thing whatever 72 hours so what's that Tuesday Wednesday Thursday I believe I'm not worried about it if they if they inspect you they inspect me I'm you know I'm not gonna worry about it too much my truck I just had inspections so truck should be in pretty good shape so shouldn't have any issues everything still works but I know I think I already told you I already ordered the Alton because I've I've already ordered another alternator before the little generator but yeah see how that's ripped right there I'm gonna have to fix that but how from right here we got about a hundred miles down to go to deliver so but I wanted to show you real quick - I think you already turned off turned on the valves for the generator how I can tell if the alternator on the generator is working or not without kind of turning on the truck my little inverter right here so my inverter you can see it is it shows you the voltage of the batteries and this morning when I woke up it was beeping because at low voltage so when I turn on the generator I can tell if the alternator is working or not that's how I tell it's kind of a mess in there to clean that up but anyway all right that's it I said I'm in a good mood we got a long day tomorrow we got to deliver this and then we only got about a 30 mile dead ahead go reload and then we got to make our way up to Atlanta Hotlanta so it's gonna be a long day tomorrow but we'll be all right that's it man is oh we're in Florida rest area it is really nice here I really like this rest area Florida did pretty good now this is actually one of the smaller ones the first one that you get in on i-10 is really big but there's probably parking here there's Park that were at the end of it that's the beginning around the corner there's probably parking in here for I would say maybe maybe 40 trucks 45 trucks so Florida did pretty good but it's nice
