[Music] and there to train for today [Music] all right good morning we're over here on work link Kentucky we just got loaded we got 42,000 pounds of steel beams going to Quincy Illinois we got to strap it down and tarp it I'm gonna try something a little different today I've got a lot of good comments about my wireless mic so I'm gonna put my wireless mic on and hopefully I'm not in the way here hey let me see what this guys doing I tried to back into the corner back here here let me show you the around there real quick so you can see the other trucks are strapping down over there so what I'm gonna try to do is we're gonna strap this down and tarp it and I got my big camera out and we're gonna mount the big camera up on behind the sleeper got the magnet on the bottom there we're gonna mount it up on the sleeper and I'll try to talk a little bit while I'm strapping down and talk you through what I'm kind of doing so hopefully it doesn't get too boring but we'll try it and see how it works if it doesn't work we won't do it again but we'll give it a shot so that's what we're getting right into do so we got to strap it down and tarp it and then we're gonna make our way back over to Louisville so let's get started all right I think we've got everything set up let's do it so we got 42,000 pounds there 40 feet long and we're gonna have we're gonna use six straps so we're gonna dig out my short straps that I cut up yesterday and we're gonna get six of them and throw them across here and we're just gonna evenly space them on here now I don't want to hear any comments if I get the huffin improper care all I'm working but I will try not to make too many huffing and puffing noises - now I have tried the hat cam once where I put a camera on my head but that didn't work out too good it made me dizzy watching it and I know if I got dizzy watching that other people would get dizzy watching it - so I will just talk about we'll try this see how it goes so right now just throwing strap once you get the straps thrown across we're gonna get plastic edge detectors put on the edges there we go let's move this one down just a little bit alright so we're gonna go on the other side usually what I do is I go ahead and pull my straps just look through pull my straps through my hole now I'll show you when we get a little bit closer you can see why I like using short straps if I had that other 10 feet of strap I'd have to worry about messing with that other 10 feet of stretch what short straps Plus these straps are little seem a little more durable than those red and blue red and blue straps were nice but okay I'll go ahead and put the edge protectors on so [Music] it's more now this is going to be super easy to tarp what we're going to do is get some padding put on the front and the back edges and then we're just going to roll two tarps out oK we've got all their edge detectors on me I'm gonna hop off the back right here oh now I'm just gonna stretch everything down you guys have seen me do the stress before slow this is gonna take a couple minutes and instead of just and instead of just hearing me bang around I will talk to you guys once I get it all secure so talking a bit always try to have a rhythm or try to do it the same way each time so we're gonna dig out the padding and the tarps so we're gonna bring one tarp and put it up in the front up here oh alright hang on I'm gonna loan and groan all right there's one tarp [Music] and there's the other one all right padding so I have little pieces of padding like this that I use just for the the ends on the steel now let me put the stuff back in the box catch my breath and I'll talk in a bit all right I caught my breath now we'll start we're gonna start in the back but I'm gonna show you how I pad this first and then I'll move in the back so I just have a little piece of felt and and it's just enough to cover the sharp edges here just lay it like that and like that and we'll go ahead and just set this up here right now oh okay let me go do the back get the felt on and we'll roll out the tarp so I think you guys can see me up there but just the same thing late felt across and that's why I had these little pieces of felt they are perfect first stuff like this make sure it covers and then get the tarp [Applause] and then all you have to do line the tarp up the edge and this is the center of the trailer right here and the way I fold the tarps is we'll roll it out flip it over and it'll be in the center most of the time and we'll just take it now this is where you got to be careful where you're stepping because it's easy to forget where you're at on the load when the tarps covering it but this one's pretty easy all right so you can see the seams right here so we know it's right in the center of the load all right next thing is we got to put two bungees on the you know second we're going to put two bungees one here and one on the other side and then that way we roll the tarp over this piece will stay stay put so the back here grab some bungees now the one thing if you guys can see when you know the tarps going to hang over a bungee take your hook and put your hook down so it's not facing up and then it's left likely to carry your tarp there we go and put this right there we're on the other side all right we got the back tarp put on and I'm gonna do this front tarp real quick and then I'm just going to be putting bungees on and closing the front and back rear flap and then we'll be out of here so plan is we're gonna get to Louisville back to Louisville this afternoon and we'll leave out a Louisville tomorrow to head up to Quincy and it should have about three hundred and three hundred and sixty seventy miles to go for tomorrow so once again what I did in the back is this is the middle of TARP right here and then this is the edge I just line it up and then roller out all apparent Oh it's been a while since I worked almost two weeks it does feel good to get some exercise and like says one thing just be careful when you're walking on tarp it's easy to get hung up trip fall and forget where you're at I have walked off the back of the trailer one time I think I told you guys that story wasn't paying attention and walked right off the back of the tree all right you see how that tarp just folds out like that I'm trying not to huff and puff too much but the exercise does feel good all right I'm gonna go back here pull it tight get the wrinkles out of it and here we go it's like wrapping a big Christmas present we'll just make sure we didn't pull it too far looks good seems right there and says we're up here we'll go ahead take this bungee and get there and pull it over to the side all right okay I'm gonna go in the back and put some more bungees get it nice and tight and then I'll talk to you guys when I get this front flap ready to put down and secure it so we're almost done we just got stretch this out get this front done get the flap down tuck it under so it doesn't flop around [Music] and then we'll double check our work so we're gonna do is take these corners and tuck them in like so and then we'll pull the flap down like so and what we're gonna do is going to tuck the flap up under two bars and the padding's there so it shouldn't tear up the tarp like this looks good yep they're all right we got this we got this one little bit right there to do grab it and then what's you be done find a little doodad how's that look pretty good here and just see if I can tuck this in a little bit more look at that alright I think that's it I think that's it let me let me put the bungees away and put the rest of the equipment away I'll grab the camera and we'll take a quick walk around okay let's see if we can do this here let me pan around you see the train over there another train so this is what we got so it looks pretty good let me do a quick walk around you can see all the bungees and then we got the back tucked in in the back back here so that looks like it's gonna do pretty good and then I always like to double check and make sure straps should have straps or tight come through tap the straps make sure we got them good and tight we didn't miss one all right there we go oh hang on a second okay I think we're done we're just going to make her way back to Louisville we got about 200 miles back to Louisville stuff for some fuel and make our way back to Louisville and do it again tomorrow but it was good it was good to get out and work again it's been a while like I said it's been almost two weeks since I done anything so it felt good to get out all right I hope this little setup worked I hope I didn't get you didn't get too bored watching me but we'll try it out if it didn't work we won't do it again so talk to you later thanks for watching
