attraction you want to ride first each day but there are ways to make your disney world vacation even better whether you are a newbie to disney or you've been many many times we're here to give you 30 things that the disney world pros do that can totally change your vacation all right let's get started by the way if you want a quick cheat sheet with all the tips we're going to talk about in this video so you don't have to worry about taking notes or remembering everything head to disney food blog dot com slash pro list to get all of the tips the experts know sent straight to your inbox we'll also sign you up for our free newsletter so that you get all the details first all right first thing that those pros are gonna do check for last minute reservations okay plans change all the time in disney world your plans change and everybody else's plans change too and that includes dining reservations leading up to your trip it's a good idea to constantly check for that dining reservation that maybe wasn't available when you first tried to book the best time to check for that is the day before you want to eat at that particular restaurant now something may open up in the months or weeks leading up to your trip but that 24 hour time frame is very very important why because there's a cancellation fee of ten dollars per person for dining reservations not cancelled 24 hours in advance so this is the time to find those last minute reservations everyone's going to cancel those because they don't want to get charged disney world and its restaurants are currently operating at limited capacity so it makes those hard to get reservations like be our guest restaurant or cinderella's royal table even harder to get now we recently did a video on the secrets to getting the hardest reservations in disney world with tips and tricks and how to get them and specific tips and tricks for specific restaurants so be sure to check that out next if you haven't already alright next thing the pros do they find the shortest line yep the pros know you don't just hop in the first line you see people will crowd up at the entry points closest to temperature and security screenings or transportation drop-off points for example people will get off the monorail and just head to the closest line for the magic kingdom what you're going to do is look beyond the line that's right in front of you to see if there are more shorter lines a short walk away or if they've just opened up a new line it's just like being at the grocery store we've seen cast members at the empty entrances call people over from the long lines because there's seriously nobody over there and nobody's paying attention you may have to walk a few extra steps but it's not going to be much in the grand scheme of a day at disney world so pretend you're at the grocery store find that shortest line okay next thing the pros know how to do they make the tips work for them as a disney world pro you gotta make tips work for you by tweaking common tips they can help you have a smoother time in the parks for example the tip to bring a bottle of water or ask for a cup of free water it's pretty common right we talk about it all the time but what if someone in your group rarely drinks water well throw a crystal light or a gatorade packet in your bag to flavor that water and stay hydrated on the cheap you don't have to bring juice with you all the time just bring those little flavor packets and get that free water or fill up your water bottle with free water and make juice yourself so you may hear a tip that everybody talks about and you think well that doesn't really apply to me because of x y or z well can you make it apply to you is there a way that you can take the core of that tip and figure out how it applies to you that's what pros are going to do for example if the people in your party are really not mourning people well then heading to a park when it first opens just for lower crowds is not going to be worth it for you guys especially in the parks that typically open at 8 a.m like disney's animal kingdom it's totally not worth it if everyone's just gonna be crabby all day so instead of arriving early you could plan to stay until the park closes for slightly shorter lines or even plan an extra day there to make sure you get to hit all your must-dos all right next thing the disney world pros do know your gear okay you've got to know your gear that you're bringing into the parks people spend a lot of time figuring out what's going to go in their park bag because they got to haul that stuff around all day if you know your backup battery or anything else in your bag is going to set off security take it out ahead of time to save yourself the hassle for those of you with kids at the stroller age make sure you know how to fold your stroller so you're ready to hop on to the disney buses you don't want to be the person that holds up the line because they haven't folded their stroller before believe me i've seen that guy also you should practice with your park bag put together all the stuff you think you're going to need in a park day and see how much you can realistically fit in the bag you want to bring to the parks ask yourself these questions when you're choosing a park bag and what to bring how are you going to store a wet poncho in your bag what are you using to protect your electronics on water rides will any souvenirs you buy fit in your bag or will you need to carry around another bag all day remember to check if shops are offering that package pickup by the way where they send your merch to the front of the park so you can grab it on your way out some are doing it some are not so you're still going to need to figure out how to carry souvenirs in your bag all day for a lot of these locations and also prepare for extra changes of clothes and masks when packing trust me if you've got a little kid they're going to need an extra change of clothes they get wet they go run and play in the splash pads it starts to rain you know always plan extra clothes for your kid and if you know you're going to be riding a lot of water rides it may not hurt to pack an extra shirt or two for yourself there can be a lot to keep up with in your bags but if you have it pre-planned and pre-packed and you've practiced with it you should be good to go but i personally i know exactly what's going to go into my park bag and when i come home from the park that park bag stays a park bag i don't use it for anything else because i need the stuff to stay where it is and i need to make sure i'm not forgetting any of it when i go into the park the next time so my park bag just sort of stays my park bag all year round and if you guys want to see what goes into my park bag let me know we'll try to set something up where i can show you what goes in to the camera bag that i do bring into the parks i don't know if anybody cares about that maybe don't all right the next thing the disney world pros do they pack beyond the basic disney world pros know that there are some necessities for disney parks that maybe aren't going to occur to everybody so come prepared for the florida rain by bringing things like stroller covers so your kid doesn't have to sit in a soaked stroller for the rest of the day like mine has had to do in the past also bring extra socks because nobody wants to walk around in squishy damn socks all day even if it doesn't rain and you just go on splash mountain or cauli river rapids extra socks are never a bad idea or you can always wear those sandals that dry quickly now there are other things you may not expect to be in a park bag like the tide to go pens or shout wipes for when you accidentally spill plastic cheese on your white shirt we've been there it's not fun when you have nothing to fix it with and then you feel like dum dum all day pack some safety pins as well because you never know when you could have a wardrobe malfunction an addition to your bag that we highly recommend is ziploc bags throw a few of those in your park bag i always like to bring the big gallon size ones because they barely take up any room and you can use them to put your phone in on water rides or you can store your wet socks and ponchos in there and they're even great for saving snacks that you can't finish which is something we do a lot here on dfb we always like to take the stuff that we haven't eaten the full thing we bring it home now we recently did a video with a bunch of packing recommendations that you wouldn't necessarily think about so check that out so you don't forget anything all right disney world pros the next thing you're gonna do is stay aware of disney's ever changing policies up until this year this wasn't that big a deal but now things are changing all the time disney world's changed its health and safety policies too many times to count since reopening in july of 2020 but the pros keep on top of every change so they know what's gonna happen when they get to the park it's important to stay updated so you don't accidentally break the rules recently disney updated its mask policy for dining at table service restaurants and it says the face masks are required unless actively eating or drinking this is a huge change because you used to be able to keep your mask off for the entire meal as long as you were seated at your table cast members have been pretty strict on enforcing the health and safety guidelines in our experience so make sure you know what they are and what is and isn't allowed as far as masks and safety go if a mask policy changes at disney world we will have the news covered right away so sign up for our newsletter to get the latest updates delivered straight to your inbox the link is right below this video and next on our list of what the disney world pros do they use the first aid center disney world has first aid centers in every single park and most people don't even know they're there but the pros do it's a completely free service there to help you if you have any injuries or don't feel well even if you just need a band-aid or tylenol because you forgot one or you used them up already they will be happy to help you there's no reason to suffer through an entire park day when first aid is right there remember you can have prescriptions delivered to first aid locations in disney world too this was super super helpful for me when my son needed asthma medication delivered we were in the park we had a dining reservation and i had no way to really be there to sign for the prescription when it came and so i was told that i could have it delivered directly to the first aid center in epcot they would sign for it and then when i came all i needed to do is give them the prescription so that they could give me the medicine it worked perfectly now where can you find the first aid locations here we go at magic kingdom you'll find it near crystal palace most of these are right next to the baby care centers in those parks at animal kingdom the first aid location is on discovery island near the entrance to africa in epcot you'll head towards the epcot experience building or the odyssey depending on how old you are those people my age know that it's the odyssey but it's right there around the corner next to the baby care center and in disney's hollywood studios first aid can be found to the left as soon as you enter the park alright next tip for those disney world pros know the shortcuts to make the most of our time in disney world the pros use shortcuts to get from point a to point b in the parks when possible some of these are actual shortcuts like physical map shortcuts in magic kingdom you can cut from adventureland to frontierland pretty quickly near aloha isle and country bear jamboree but a lot of people think you have to walk all the way around adventureland past pirates of the caribbean in disney's animal kingdom there's another secret pathway that lots of people don't know about if you're in pandora and you are trying to get up to africa where festival of the lion king and kilimanjaro safaris are there is a pathway past cetuli canteen that takes you there directly this may not be open if the park is crowded and they're using that pathway as an overflow queue for flight of passage but usually it is open now there are also other time-saving strategies that aren't literal shortcuts but they sure will save you time this includes mobile checkout which is a fairly new feature in the parks we've seen it testing at mouse gear and epcot and allows you to purchase merchandise right from your phone you scan the items you're trying to buy purchase them through the my disney experience app and show a cast member proof that you paid on the way out and then you don't have to worry about waiting in any merchandise lines all right i love this tip and a lot of folks don't know about it get a replacement you've been waiting all day to reward your kiddo with a mickey bar and as soon as they get it it falls in the ground or that bubble wand you bought an hour ago suddenly runs out of batteries don't worry just talk to a cast member and they may be able to help you out in our experience you can usually get a replacement mickey bar churro or milkshake whatever you got that dropped on the ground or you can get new batteries for a toy that you just bought that has already run out also if a toy that you bought at disney world breaks they should be able to replace it for you as long as you have the receipt just swing by guest relations and see what they can do or i've even had this happen right in the merchandise location so at mouse gear for example i needed to get batteries replaced in our bubble wand and they were able to do that for me all right next thing the pros do and this is a relatively new one so if you haven't been in disney world in a long time pay attention we screenshot everything yep the my disney experience app is convenient for storing all of your plans but what happens when you can't get a signal or the app crashes take screenshots of everything that way if the app does give you any sort of issue you'll be able to see your dining reservations your park passes your fast passes your ticket numbers all of that stuff and they'll all just be there in your camera roll now another time you should screenshot is when you try to get a rise of the resistance boarding group although you can be outside of disney's hollywood studios to score a group at the 7 a.m time slot you must be inside the park to snag one at 1pm but sometimes the app glitches and doesn't register that you or a family member are in the park and that delay can make the difference between getting a pass and not if this happens to you take screenshots of when you tried to get a boarding group and something to prove that you were in the park visit a cast member at guest relations and they may even be able to give you a boarding pass after all if you have the proof that it was a technical glitch that tripped you up all right this next was a great tip for people who think they might not be able to ride thrill rides because they've got kids use rider swap pros in disney world use the ultra convenient rider swap service to make sure everyone can ride the rides they want even if that doesn't include your whole group if you're not familiar with the rider swap it's where one person waits in line and the other stays outside with a guest who's not able to ride or doesn't want to ride the attraction guests will visit a cast member at the attraction where they will scan your magic bands or your key card and after the first person rides the attraction the second person will get to skip the line and ride with a minimal weight you can also bring up to two extra guests with your second rider so some from your party may be able to ride more than once not every ride has rider swap but most of them do when they are rides that are a little more thrill-based or have a higher height minimum all right here's a pro tip that you're definitely going to need especially if you're in the parks in the summer relaxing in the parks how to do it disney world pros know when and where to take a break in the parks rather than heading all the way back to the hotel room for a midday break in epcot we highly recommend the morocco pavilion for relaxing it's bigger than people may realize and there are plenty of places to sit away from the crowds the american adventure is also a nice spot to relax it's air-conditioned and is a 30-minute show where you can relax your feet for a bit or even take a nap we promise no judgement we won't tell at magic kingdom tom sawyer island is a great away from the crowds we also like to chill on the hub right in front of cinderella castle it's a fun place to sit down and have a snack or read a book and in disney's animal kingdom pete safari is now an air-conditioned relaxation station and is the perfect place to relax for a little bit and at disney's hollywood studios you can relax at the pizza rizzo balcony for a fun people watching spot or for some more ac we enjoy strolling through the walt disney presents exhibit which is full of fun disney history and includes a film so you can sit and relax your feet there are also a few relaxation stations in each park both inside and outside where you can have a minute to sit and take off your mask next up disney world pros never pay more than they have to they always get those discounts this tip is important for going to disney world on a budget disney's almost always running some sort of deal on hotels be sure to check the disney world website often to see if there are any discounts you can take advantage of and reminder even if you've already booked your room you can add discounts on that apply afterwards sometimes disney runs merchandise discounts especially after holidays in january this year leftover christmas merchandise was 70 off so keep an eye out for red signs in the store with deals on them if you are an annual pass holder you already get a discount on merchandise but in the past few months disney's raised the percentage a couple of times so keep an eye on our newsletter we'll let you know when those annual pass holder deals spike and booking things in advance can also save you a lot of money for example memory maker which allows you to have any photos a photo pass photographer or a ride takes of you is cheaper if you pay for it in advance right now you can purchase memory maker in advance for 169 versus 199 if you wait next thing the disney world pros know how to do is get on more rides there are several ways to get on more rides in the disney world theme parks when fast passes are being used the pros know that once you use the first three you can get more until they run out or the park closes i know i told you guys this before but i once was riding slinky dog dash and the woman sitting next to me asked me first of all if you can get more than three fast passes she didn't know that you could and if you have to get them at the kiosks she didn't realize you could book fast passes right from your phone so there are still a lot of people that do not understand how fast pass works so definitely get yourself versed on that if fastpass is back when you go to disney world now the key to getting on more rides sometimes is timing you'll want to hit those super popular rides like flight of passage or seven doors mine train early or late in the day to avoid long wait times right there midday in the middle of the day when lots of attractions are busy that's a good time to see some of the shows like it's tough to be a bug or carousel of progress these often don't have long waits and you'll get to enjoy some ac during the hottest part of the day next tip the disney world pros know don't always rely on disney transportation right yeah it's nice to have free transportation from the resorts to the parks or from park to park but sometimes you just don't have the time to spend waiting on disney buses or in line for the monorail or skyliner it can be hours sometimes during spring break or really busy times luckily you don't always have to rely on disney transportation you can rent a car ahead of time or bring your own so you're always in control of exactly when you are leaving and don't forget there are rental car locations on disney world property so if you only need a car for a day or two you can rent it right on disney world property at the car care center now if you don't want your own car you can use ride share services like lyft or uber the pros know that time is money in disney world and if you're running late for a dinner reservation it's probably better to spend eight bucks on a ride share than an hour plus on disney buses while you risk paying that 10 no show fee for a missed reservation and don't forget taxis are still available you go to any disney hotel and they can call a taxi for you as well now if you're trying to get to a disney park before it opens sometimes the easiest way to do that is use a ride share or a taxi instead of relying on disney transportation because you know what that's when it's the busiest our next tip the pros know stay where is most convenient if you haven't noticed by now disney world pros are all about convenience or maybe that's just me i don't like to be bothered we may be less inclined to pick a resort just because it looks cool and opt for one that's closer to the park we plan on visiting most pick the hotel that's going to be best for your plans specifically and for your family specifically if you are all about animal kingdom you'll probably want to stay at disney's animal kingdom lodge or coronado springs resort those are just a five minute bus ride from the park if you know most of your trip will be spent at magic kingdom then you might want to choose a resort along the monorail if it fits your budget or nearby like disney's wilderness lodge or fort wilderness if you'll be at the epcot festivals all day every day pick an epcot area resort like disney's boardwalk in yacht and beach club or the swan and dolphin are really really good deals for deluxe level properties all right disney pros definitely know how to get the best seat some rides are completely different depending on where you sit and the pros know the best seat on every single one because you know what you might only be able to ride that ride one time while you're in disney world you might as well have the best seat for example you're going to want to request section b1 on soarin because it gives you the highest and most centered view where you won't have people's feet dangling in front of you and the screen won't be warped and crooked like it is when you're on either side because the screen is actually curved so stuff looks real weird when you're on the side sometimes on coasters like big thunder mountain railroad rock and roller coaster expedition everest ask for the back row to get a faster and wilder experience now right now you may not be able to request a seat due to social distancing protocols and it's always at the discretion of a cast member so ask nicely and you may be rewarded but don't bug them okay now here's a special thing to note on expedition everest remember that spoiler alert part of the ride actually goes backwards so when you are going backwards the craziest ride is going to be in the front seat so if you want the wild ride when you're going backwards then choose the front seat if you want the wild ride the rest of the time choose the back seat me personally i choose back because when i am in the front seat i get real real sick going backwards real fast still talking choosing the best seats there are a few restaurants you'll want to specifically request a certain seat or table or area as well when fireworks are happening in disney world there are plenty of great restaurants where you can eat and see the show california grill a contemporary resort ohana disney's polynesian village resort those both offer really really nice views of the magic kingdom fireworks in epcot asked for a water view table at any restaurant along world showcase lagoon like spice road table or the rose and crown dining room also hacienda de santa and how great restaurant to see the fireworks from too now luckily you can choose your own seats at counter service locations so pick a seat with a view upstairs columbia harbor house and magic kingdom when it reopens is a really nice spot for people watching and usually there aren't too many people up there because a lot of people don't realize there is an upstairs to columbia harbor house so it can be easier to find a table up there when it's busy in the magic kingdom over at pinocchio village house you can sit by a window and wave to people as they float by on it's a small world and little-known fact pinocchio village house also has an upstairs balcony it's an outside balcony and there are some tables inside as well there's about eight tables total there aren't very many so on a busy day it may already be full up or if people don't know it's there then you can have your choice of one of the best seats in the house now near flametree barbecue and disney's animal kingdom you can grab a seat by the water and watch the character boats go by and of course cantina de san and hell over there in abcot's mexico that's going to be a great spot to view the fireworks as well once they return but remember those seats go very quickly people will hold those seats for hours so if you really really really want to sit there you're going to have to plan ahead all right next thing the pros know how to do not necessarily me but i guess other pros is how to get on reasonably high scores on rides it's no secret that disney world pros they're a little competitive especially when it comes to attractions with games on them and this includes of course toy story mania at disney's hollywood studios buzz lightyear space rangers spin and magic kingdom and there are hidden easter eggs and secrets on both of these rides that will instantly give you a very high score on toy story mania moving targets are worth more the targets with lots of points will typically release tons of new targets and on buzz lightyear space ranger spin the large red robot on the left in the first room gives you a hundred thousand points per hit but there are certain spots you gotta hit like the back of his hand now we won't spoil all the fun for you but there are several places to get ridiculously high scores so do your research if you want to show up your family and we do have a video all about how to score high on some of these rides you can go watch that video next all right next thing the disney world pros do this is an interesting one they stop making reservations and plans okay hear me out to a certain extent there will always be some sort of planning that goes into a disney world trip but even the pros have to let loose and go without any real definitive plans sometimes especially if they're making a last-minute trip so if you have restaurants and rides that you absolutely must eat at and ride then put those at the top of your list and make those reservations but don't over plan your trip if you've been to disney world before like the pros have you know that things are not going to go exactly as planned it'll take longer to get from point a to point b you'll probably have to rework your schedule a little bit on the fly more than once if you skip a few hard plans and reservations your schedule becomes a lot more open and flexible to go with the flow and you can decide to ride something one more time before you go get a snack instead of having to rush through the park on a super tight schedule now i still make lots of reservations and plans but i have lightened up a little bit because i am a continually late person i am late for everything and so i figure if i don't make as many plans maybe i won't be as late for so many things i'll let you know how it goes now this one's a classic tip that i know a lot of you guys know about but it's still important to reiterate it disney pros ride the rides during fireworks or parades yep disney rides become pretty empty during fireworks shows and parades while everyone's snagging a spot and watching the show and the pros take advantage of this to ride a bunch of rides the experts have seen them all before and we'll see them again so why not get on some rides with shorter lines of course there are no fireworks shows or parades in disney world right now but this is a handy tip for when they do return if you've seen the fireworks or the shows before you don't care to see them then jump on rides during that time and of course disney pros love ac so we are gonna walk through the stores to get up main street usa most people don't know that all of the shops on main street usa at least on the left hand side as you're facing the castle connect so when main street is super crowded or when a parade or cavalcade is going on and you're trying to walk toward the rest of the park head towards the shops and walk your way up inside this way you'll get there quicker and you won't have to deal with the crowds lining main street plus you get some more of that very precious air conditioning now right now you'll want to pay attention to which door you need to enter shops have designated entry and exit doors and those can change every once in a while so if the shops are at capacity they may have a virtual wait list but if most people are watching a cavalcade go by the shops are probably pretty empty now as soon as disney world gets back to normal and you can go in and out of any door it'll be real easy to enter the emporium right there by town square and you can walk all the way up basically out through casey's corner and on your way to adventureland now on the right hand side you can get pretty far walking inside you can get up to uptown jewelers but then you're gonna have to head outside again and walk up the street all right another thing the pros always have is a weather app on their phone now this is probably something that most floridians have as well if there's anything certain about florida weather it's that it can be very unpredictable and it'll be sunny one minute and pouring rain down the next and also you can be in magic kingdom and your friends in epcot and you have completely different weather going on now the pros know to download a weather app on their phone that has minute by minute updates our reporters who are in the parks will often send us screenshots of what's coming next the app dark sky weather gives accurate down to the minute weather updates and can be helpful when planning where to hide for a downpour get somewhere dry before the rain starts so you aren't stuck crammed under an awning way too close to some other guests especially now in the days of social distancing all right and the pros know the best spots to stay in each resort why stay in any old hotel room when you can stay in the best hotel room this is kind of like requesting your seat at a restaurant disney pros know which room to request at each hotel it doesn't mean that you are guaranteed to get that room or even one close to it but disney does try their best to accommodate requests so whether you're going for the best view the best location or the most unique room it's worth putting in a request make requests about five days in advance directly to the hotel or at the front desk when you check in each hotel has its own best spot but some of our favorites to request are rooms closest to ebcot at the beach club so you can just walk right out of that secret door and head right into epcot and the gabled rooms at disney's grand floridian resort they've got those huge vaulted ceilings in general it's usually best to request close to the lobby or close to transportation for example at disney's pop century resort you can request the 60s section which is near the skyliner if you plan to use that form of transportation a lot and if you wanted to be closer to the buses you'd want to request the 70s or 80s section often you can make some of those requests during online check-in and don't forget you can always pay for a preferred room which in those values and moderates will get you close to food close to the lobby close to several things that a lot of guests deem important but if you don't see your specific request plan to contact the hotel directly we have a video all about the best rooms in disney world and how to get them if you want some more insider tips you can go ahead and watch that next now once you've got your room taken care of it's time to know about the best bathrooms now this may seem silly but knowing where the best bathrooms are in disney world is really important you guys are going to be walking 10 miles a day hopefully staying hydrated and you're going to be using public restrooms a lot so some disney bathrooms are so phenomenally themed they're worth a trip even if you don't have to go or maybe you're looking for a bathroom that won't have a long wait we've ranked the bathrooms before and some of our favorites are the tangled toilets in the magic kingdom the american adventure in norway restrooms and epcot and the star wars galaxy's edge refreshers hollywood brown derby bathrooms and toy story land restrooms and disney's hollywood studios are great too we have two videos all about the best bathrooms in disney world because this is very important information one of them talks about themed restrooms and one of them talks about not very busy restrooms now something else the pros always do at least we do is we still watch stacy in the disney resort channel if you stayed in a disney hotel before you've probably tuned in to must-do disney with stacy and the pros most definitely watch this every single trip some of us have kids who watch it non-stop i once was watching this with my son and he was about three years old if you've watched it you might remember that stacy gets really excited about dockside margaritas and my three-year-old says mom we should go to dockside margaritas for a great refresher oh my goodness it was hilarious and i said well yes we should absolutely go to dockside margaritas anyway the pros probably know all those tips by heart but stacy brings some serious nostalgia for a lot of us she's been on the channel for a very long time you may have to scroll around a bit to find her right now but typically this channel is featured front and center just past the disney resort channel which is the one that has all of the disney icons scrolling by and tells you the hours of the parks and things like that so it's super helpful to recheck that channel for park hours during the day so don't just flip your tv to regular cable check out those disney resort channels they got a lot of info okay next thing the pros know to do is bring plenty of extra face masks i know we've mentioned this on the channel before you probably know to bring an extra face mask or two to the parks for the day but you really should bring like five or more for a full park day they don't take up much room in your park bag and so many things happen in a park day you sweat you go on water rides you sweat you spill food you sweat all of that stuff happens so be prepared with plenty of backup masks because otherwise you're going to be wearing a mask covered in mickey bar chocolate or soaked in your yep in your sweat because you only brought one back up bring different kinds of masks too you never know which type of fabric is going to end up driving you crazy in the middle of the day and it's nice to have something else to swap into i know that when i am at disney world when it's real hot and i need to wear a mask i go back and forth between a cotton mask that can kind of pull the moisture away from my face and a disposable mask which is a little bit lighter and doesn't feel quite so heavy on my face so i kind of go back and forth between those two another super great tip for masks by the way if you can bring a mask chain that's super helpful at restaurants because then you don't have to take off your mask and stuff it in your bag or put it on the table you can just have it hang around your neck and really easily put it back up or take it down when you have a drink or a meal in front of you okay the next tip that disney pros do they don't rope drop the most popular ride in the park now hear me out it's a pretty common tip to rope drop the most popular rides in the park we even give you that tip ourselves but the pros consider heading to less popular rides right when the park opens if you've been to magic kingdom at rope drop then you'll know it's a herd of people heading towards seven dorsamine train so consider heading toward the other fantasy land attractions or other rides that aren't typically rope drop rides but get longer wait times later in the day like jungle crews pirates of the caribbean maybe even big thunder mountain you can knock out so many more attractions in the morning and barely have to wait if you skip the most popular attraction we recommend heading to that popular attraction near park close when the crowds start to die down ride times typically get lower as the night goes on and you may end up with a shorter weight at the end of the night than you would have had first thing in the morning and of course you've knocked out all of those other rides first thing in the morning all right something else the pros do and i do this all the time ship your souvenirs home or to your resort so if you buy a giant pillow or one too many stuffed animals you can fill out a form that will ship your items directly to your house this is especially helpful with those like big old train sets and things like that you clearly can't put those in your luggage and so you're gonna have to haul them on the airplane or just pay a little bit extra and ship them to your house then they just arrive right there at your door you can also take multiple items to your hotel's gift shop and send them all together just keep your receipts to show you purchase the items at disney now you'll need to pay for shipping but it may be a lot less expensive than paying for an overweight or extra bag on the plane this is a great tip and i just want to reiterate you can ship a bunch of stuff together from your hotel so if you collect a whole bunch of souvenirs while you're in disney world and you realize oh dear these are not all gonna fit in my suitcase you can ship those from your hotel gift shop it doesn't have to be the place you actually purchase the item all right next awesome awesome tip that the pros know is plan your mobile order in advance mobile ordering is not what it used to be in disney world it used to be super convenient but since everyone pretty much has to use it everywhere right now it's become a lot more complicated it's kind of like if everybody had to use fastpass then there would be nobody in the standby line and the fastpass lines would be super long that's kind of what mobile ordering is like right now we've seen weights for ordering windows two hours ahead of the time we wanted to order and this is a pretty common issue we've noticed as more crowds hit disney world because basically what you do is you go into the mobile order screen and it gives you specific times you can pick up and as people sign up for those times they sell out so if you are hungry for lunch now you may not be able to get your food for two or three hours because the times closest to your current time are sold out so yep the pros know you've got to plan your mobile order in advance if you know you'll want tachos from woody's lunchbox in about two to three hours it's best to place the order for that two to three hour from now window while you know it's still available order lunch at breakfast time set your pickup window so you have the best selection of available times then you aren't stuck at noon with no options besides popcorn or other kiosk snacks and the disney world pros also know about portion planning throughout the day they know how to plan their stomach space yeah there's lots of amazing food to eat at disney world and if you have three full meals every day it's going to be hard to fit in all of the disney snacks on your must-have list so consider sharing snacks or opting for fewer full meals and grab a few snacks that double as meals or go ahead and order a kid's meal from a counter service restaurant for a smaller portion size if you need something a little lighter to save room for some of the all-you-can-eat meals too if you want to fit all those bucket list disney snacks in be sure to plan your portions throughout the day so you aren't too stuffed to try that one snack you've been eyeing for weeks before your trip all right that's what the pros do those expert tips that you need to know when you get to disney world that a lot of people don't realize and don't forget you
