want to know which disney world restaurants are worth spending for and which are waste of money we're reading the restaurants you wanted to know about today on dfb guys hey everybody it's aj for disney food blog now we all know that food at disney world is expensive yeah we're totally aware of that it can be the largest part of your vacation budget so you want to make sure you're getting your money's worth everywhere you eat now we asked you which restaurants you wanted to hear about and today we're going to talk about the most frequently requested restaurants and if they're worth it or not these are the ones that you guys are humming and hawing about and saying should i really shell out the dough for this restaurant that everybody's telling me to go to and we're gonna really get into it and let you know yeah this is worth it for these kinds of people and it's probably not worth it for those kinds of people so here we go number one of course be our guest restaurant most requested restaurant review from our followers and it might be the toughest one to review right now from a value perspective because things are real real different here at the moment and things are different in disney world of course right now menus are different restaurants are open shorter hours if they're open at all and places that used to have great deals for some meals are no longer at the top of their game be our guest in magic kingdom has quickly become one of the most iconic restaurants in all of walt disney world and it's one of the restaurants that's the most different right now during the coven 19 pandemic so let's start with the basics this is designed to look like you're stepping right into the story of beauty and the beast the restaurant is beautiful that's the main reason it's one of the hardest reservations to get in disney world this is not something you can just wander by and look in you have to have a reservation to get up to those doors and that's why it's one of the hardest reservations to get remember there's three dining rooms there's the beasts area the west wing there's the ballroom which is the biggest dining room and then of course there's a rose gallery which was not in the movie but it's basically sort of belle's room her addition to the castle a lot of people like to sit in the ballroom it is beautiful but again to me it feels very big and echoey so i always like to request the beast's kind of west wing area i like that room the most because it's got the enchanted rose it's got a lot of theming going on in there it's got the changing portrait it's got the thunderstorm happening so it's kind of fun it has a lot more going on than the other two rooms do so that's my preferred room to sit in but you guys choose which you want to choose as for food be our guests used to have one of the best values for lunch with an a la carte menu full of high-end choices while still considered a quick service meal or a fast food meal you would order at a podium or via mobile order and your food would be delivered right to your table now the quality and price point for lunch made this a stellar option but since the parks reopened last july lunch has become the same pre-fix signature meal which means expensive meal that's offered at dinner and breakfast is no longer available here the food is still high quality but not quite on a par with disney world's other fancy or signature or expensive restaurants though be our guest comes with an equally high price tag 62 bucks per adult 37 for kids this is when i definitely recommend you take a look at the menu crunch the numbers and decide whether or not this particular meal is worth taking time out of your magic kingdom park day because it's not a quick meal either remember this is like a multi-course meal and it's a relatively heavy meal as well so if you're there in the middle of summer and it is crazy crazy hot and you're gonna go in and have lunch at be our guest restaurant and eat a giant steak and a really rich dessert and then go back out into 90 degree and 100 humidity that can be a little overwhelming so just heads up and think about that so if you're gonna do br guest restaurant right now it may make more sense to do it for dinner or book a reservation for right at park clothes so this can be sort of the last thing you do with your magic kingdom date now be our guest restaurant was the number one most requested restaurant you wanted to know about so if you want some more in-depth information we actually have two full videos about be our guest restaurant and we have one that's all about the prefix meal here and whether or not it's worth it the short answer is like i said it's complicated the food is good the ambiance is excellent but the price point may deter a lot of people from dining here especially knowing that they can spend the same amount at another signature restaurant and get a much better experience so should you go to be our guest restaurant i would probably recommend if you were going to disney world and think you're going to disney world again maybe in the next two or three years i would wait and go to be our guest when the quick service lunch comes back which i hope it does and head back when that returns and if you know in the next couple of years it doesn't return and you're stuck with the same two signature meals for beer guest restaurant well then you know shell out the dough then all right next up next requested was skipper canteen and i am so excited that many of you requested we talk about skipper canteen in magic kingdom i feel like this restaurant always goes under the radar and doesn't get much attention even though it's a pretty phenomenal restaurant and i think it's super fun because i am a big giant disney nerd and i love the jungle cruise and i love the skippers and i love the society of explorers and adventurers i love that whole backstory so you guys don't see my uber disney nerdiness on here very often at least i don't think you do maybe maybe it's coming through a little more than i intended to but anyway skipper canteen i think is super super fun and it's right along those lines of trader sam's and if you have no idea what i'm talking about right now that's okay let's dive into the actual facts the menu here is a little quote unquote exotic it's not what you would expect from a theme park but it's not so far out there that picky eaters can't find something they'll like there is a whole fried fish on the menu but there's also fried chicken and steak the atmosphere is fun it's kind of kitschy of course it's themed after the jungle cruise so your server is going to be cracking jokes throughout your meal because your server is a jungle cruise skipper and this makes for a very nice sort of low-key break from the park while you still are experiencing a lot of disney theming and immersion and enthusiasm so that's really fun most entrees are around 25 bucks which for disney is a decent deal for a table service restaurant i think this one is definitely worth the money but again check out that menu and decide if it's right for you now when you go to skipper canteen which i hope you will see if you can request to sit in the society of explorers and adventurers room i think that's the most interesting room you have to go through that cool little secret bookcase to get there not really you don't get to actually open a bookcase and go in but there is sort of a a fun bookcase hallway that you go through so you kind of feel like you're going into a hidden room and be sure to look at those bookcases as you go by too because there's a lot of site gags in those bookcases and the names of the books and stuff like that so that's really fun but i don't really like sitting in the big giant sort of cafeteria like entry room here because it seems very loud and sort of echoey it's not my favorite room i like the other two rooms a lot better so if you're requesting a dining room to sit in even though it's not guaranteed i would always request the sca room if you can get in there all right moving on to cinderella's royal table another super popular magic kingdom restaurant you're dining right inside a cinderella castle but you're paying a hefty premium for that experience dinner costs 62 dollars per dollar 37 dollars per kit and because this is such a hot reservation you do need to pay up front rather than when you dine so yeah if you skip this reservation you're losing your full amount of money you're not just losing that 10 bucks per person you're gonna forfeit everything you paid up front now the menu is definitely limited though it has pretty safe and accessible options for everyone in your group i wouldn't say it's particularly interesting this is more the kind of food you're going to be served at a wedding it's kind of like banquet food sort of i mean it's fine it's good but you can tell it is very mass produced and they're just sort of assembly lining this in the kitchen now to decide if this one is worth it we're gonna look beyond the food and honestly even be on that price tag okay do you wanna get inside cinderella castle do you wanna meet cinderella which you can't really meet her but you can see her right now how about some of the other princesses once character meals return to pre-covered protocols because those other princesses will come back usually this restaurant has i believe five princesses that you can meet cinderella's real table is all about getting inside the castle and meeting princesses it's not really about the food and if you can swallow spending over 200 bucks for your family to dine here it's not really about the cost either this is a bucket list restaurant for a lot of disney fans and it's one that i recommend you dine at at least once unless you're really not into princesses and don't care about getting in the castle cause if you don't care about this stuff then the food is not worth eating here okay the next requested restaurant that we cover for you crystal palace yet another iconic magic kingdom restaurant and i promise we'll get into some of the other parks and resorts here but we're breaking this list down by the most requested restaurant reviews and you guys really wanted to know about magic kingdom which makes sense you know that's the centerpiece of disney world so crystal palace is one of the few restaurants that i feel has gotten better since new health and safety regulations were put in place before this was a character meal where you could meet winnie the pooh and his friends right now there are no characters and the restaurant has transitioned from an all-you-can-eat buffet to a pre-fixed meal and here you've got appetizers that are served family style you've got a la carte choices for your entree it is a prefix meal you're paying the same price but you do get to choose your entree and then there is a kind of dessert sampler as well that is served family style and i gotta say the food has markedly improved from what it was when it was a buffet so that's a pro that's a positive the menu currently features a delicious fried chicken entree along with a course of salad and dessert at 39 dollars per adult this is definitely on the price to your side especially since you've lost those characters but when you compare it to prefix meals that be our guest in cinderella's royal table it's a steal that you don't have the same level of disney theming crystal palace is still a very pretty restaurant and it opens with the park so you've got some disney history there so 39 bucks versus 62 bucks no characters no real get into a castle you couldn't get into otherwise going on there but a lot more decent food than what we had at the buffet pre-covered for this restaurant so probably a more relaxed experience here than it used to be all right yeah yeti yak and yeti is one of my favorite restaurants in animal kingdom portion sizes are huge and the menu itself is equally huge meaning you've got a lot of options which is either overwhelming or a godsend for picky eaters the menu does have a bit of an asian flair so you'll want to check it out before you dine here if you do have some picky eaters in your party though again the menu is big you should be able to find something you like and with a lot of the food on this menu it's a lot of basic things that are dressed up with sides and sauces and so if you want to take those sides and sauces away you have some really basic food that your picky eaters will still be fine with this is one of the few restaurants right now that we've seen offer reservations after park close be our guest has also popped up with post park closing dinner reservations this is a great option especially for an animal kingdom day when the park closes early you don't have to waste any potential ride time and you can still probably have dinner before it gets to be bedtime for the kiddos the restaurant itself has an interesting design two floors of seating the same restaurant group that runs t-rex and rainforest cafe owns yak and yeti but don't let that scare you this restaurant is not as themed as those and the food is much much much better i don't know why the food is so much better here than it is at t-rex and rainforest but it is and this is still a themed restaurant it's still beautiful they have a ton of authentic asian decor it's real quirky upstairs i love i actually did a blog post once on all the different light fixtures upstairs because it seems that no two are the same it's really quirky and really fun i really enjoyed it so if you're looking for a sit-down meal in animal kingdom this is probably the top of my recommended list the price point is great for what you get the food is delicious and remember tusker house isn't open right now over there for that character meal so this is really one of the only table surface restaurants available along with you know rainforest cafe so go with egg and yeti y'all all right tony's town square restaurant moving on to a restaurant that does not make it to the top of many of our lists here at dfv our instagram follower mseber99 left a note when she requested a review of tony's saying be kind well if you've watched the channel before you know that the lists that this restaurant does top are typically lower rated lists and worst restaurants in disney world but and this is a big one just because some people yelp reviewers cough cough tend to give a disney world restaurant bad reviews doesn't mean the restaurant is overall bad or that you shouldn't go there is a restaurant in disney world for everyone and for every restaurant there are people who love it so that's what we're here to talk about tony's town square is fine i rarely have a meal here that blows me away but i also rarely have a meal here where i leave feeling like i wasted my money dinner entrees are around 25 bucks which may be a little high for what you get but at disney world it's what you can expect if something about the menu which is italian food and it's it's very basic italian food we're talking like spaghetti and meatballs chicken parm you know stuff like that it's very much along the lines of an italian chain restaurant so if you like that sort of menu or you know your kids like that sort of menu or you like the lady and the theming because it's real cute in there give tony's a try and if those things aren't interesting to you you've got plenty of other choices in and around the magic kingdom something else that's really fun about tony's that a lot of people don't talk about is that there's actually a patio seating area outside and that looks onto town square in the magic kingdom if you're sitting there you get really really good people watching you can watch all the folks coming in starting their magic kingdom day it's so much fun to just sit and relax and see all those people coming in really excited and sometimes fighting okay next up and this is a really fun video i'm really enjoying doing this video for you guys because a lot of these restaurants you know i know that these are the ones that all of your friends tell you to go to tell you to eat at and you really have no idea if they're going to be good or not or worth your money so i'm having a really good time sort of giving you the little bits and pieces of knowledge and hidden away tips and stuff because i've eaten at all of these places a lot of times and i have a lot of different experiences with these as a solo park visitor visiting with my family visiting with babies visiting with kids and so i kind of have been to these restaurants in all the various stages that you're gonna visit them so i can feel like i can really give you a good overview okay the next restaurant is the boat house now this is another under the radar restaurant that a lot of you requested we review it's located in disney springs and the menu is heavily seafood leaning though there are a lot of non-seafood options to this actually pretty substantial menu all of it comes with a pretty steep price tag as well this is not cheap restaurant overall this restaurant has continuously delivered exceptional food and good service you kind of get what you pay for at the boathouse now it's upscale though it maintains a casual vibe kind of like if you're at the beach you're on a beach vacation and you go to the fancy restaurant at the beach they're not expecting you to you know wear black tie or whatever and it's not a black tie kind of place they want you to feel breezy and casual and fun and there's live music a lot of nights and yeah you can pay an exorbitant amount of money for oysters or a two-person steak but you can also get a burger you know what i mean okay now i think speaking of burgers i think the gibson sandwich king burger here is phenomenal it's real real good i love it and if you go there and get that burger and some fries and key lime pie for dessert you know maybe a cocktail that's gonna be a great evening now a few years ago we had a 35 panko fried fish platter here that was really phenomenal they knocked that out of the park and it was worth every penny but if 35 for fried fish sounds outrageous to you then you'll probably not find the boathouse worth the money but if you're looking for high quality food and good service then this place is probably going to fit the bill for you now something to note here there's a really cool table at the boathouse it's an actual speedboat and they put a table inside it it's a lot of fun it's right when you first enter the restaurant right when you first come in the door i wanted to sit in that table for like three years before i finally got to sit there and i got there at restaurant opening and i requested it and i was there with my whole family and it was such a blast to sit at that table you know sometimes you like really hope that you're gonna get to do this thing and then you finally get to do it you're like that wasn't that big a deal this is really fun to sit in the boat so it delivered on my bucket list item but if you want to sit in that cool boat table then i do suggest you get that early reservation where you're the first one there and then request that boat table okay next on our list is topolino's terrace now this is disney's riviera resort double header breakfast is a prefix character meal dinner is a la carte vine dining inspired by the french and italian riviera in my opinion both meals are worth the money but as i've said before it all depends on what you're looking for the food at both meals is delicious and comes with a high price tag breakfast is 42 bucks per adult 27 per kid that's crazy that's chef mickey's prices which is unbelievable we're talking premier premier premier pricing on this one the menu is fairly limited too it's got a few higher end options that may not appeal to everyone but everything we've had here for breakfast has been excellent and we've kind of wished we had a larger portion of it they feel a little bit smaller to me than what i'm used to but what do i know i'm used to disney portions so at dinner the entrees range from 30 to 55 so like i said this restaurant's on a par with chef mickey's for breakfast california grill for dinner although several members of our team would rank topolino's terrace above both of those contemporary resort restaurants i personally would choose california grill over topalino's terrace for dinner every single time i did not have an excellent topolino's terrace dinner experience but i have a couple members of my reviewing team who have gone to topolino's a couple of times and really really enjoyed it so i'm hoping my experience was kind of a fluke but i have not wanted to spend the money to go back myself so aggregate review of our whole team they really enjoyed topolino's terrace for both breakfast and dinner i would say definitely spend the money for breakfast but compare the menus at california grill and toppolinos for dinner see which one you like better and when it comes to breakfast you'll also need to take into consideration what character meals are happening right now and how they're different so mickey's not going to be coming to your table to give you a hug and autograph or pose for photos he will wave from a safe distance and he'll come around several times and wave at you and you'll get an autograph card at the end of your meal but it's not a character meal in the typical way you've experienced when you were there prior to covet 19. so just keep that in mind when you're shelling out 42 bucks riviera resort is easy to get to from hollywood studios and epcot it's right on the skyliner but if you're coming from elsewhere you'll want to factor in some potentially significant transportation time to get to and from your meal that added transportation time may make topolino's terrace a little less worth it for you since it's so much easier to get to a place like chef mickey's or california grill from say magic kingdom all right next up is ohana we are still waiting to hear whether the fan favorite ohana will be opening along with disney's polynesian village resort this july but many of you wanted to know if ohana is worth it or not when it does reopen the short answer for me is yes based on ohana bread pudding teriyaki noodles alone this restaurant comes highly recommended by me and our entire team here at dfb and i think i can speak for a lot of our readers and followers and viewers too that they love it as well both breakfast and dinner are all you can eat meals that are served family style which means platters are brought to your table and you don't need to get up to go to a buffet at breakfast you get to meet lilo and stitch while you dine on endless mickey waffles scrambled eggs breakfast potatoes and sausage and they also have that super yummy breakfast bread which is delicious it's a pineapple breakfast bread and then they've got another breakfast bread that's got icing on it yum dinner features those awesome teriyaki noodles along with dumplings grilled shrimp steak chicken the most amazing bread pudding for dessert salad lots of options with that dinner menu now since it's all you can eat it's going to have a higher price tag dinner was 55 for adults and 33 for kids before the restaurant closed along with the parks last march now my guess is when it reopens that price is gonna go up i don't know why it wouldn't so be prepared to pay at least 60 bucks for your ohana dinner the next time you're there now i've had some less than stellar meals when i dined here just before the restaurant closed like all restaurants in disney world things can be hit or miss and like i always say the most consistent thing about disney restaurants is that they're inconsistent but this one is a fan favorite for a reason it's in a great location it's close to the magic kingdom you have a view of the magic kingdom fireworks from this restaurant breakfast is a character meal you get to meet mickey mouse lilo stitch pluto and it has a wonderful fun atmosphere across the board because at breakfast of course you're gonna have those characters and you're gonna have some fun hawaiian games and at dinner they also do fun hawaiian games like coconut races for the kids so just the whole experience here is going to be good every once in a while you have a dud meal your meat's overcooked your server's no good but most of the time it's worth taking the risk on this one okay our next restaurant is la celier las celia in epcot's canada pavilion has long been one of my personal favorite restaurants in disney world probably because i got super interested in disney world when la celier was the premier restaurant in disney world and everybody wanted to go there and it was impossible to get a reservation this is your typical steakhouse it delivers consistently good filling food but still has a relaxed and sort of casual atmosphere this may not be one that you bring the kids along to prices are comparable with most steakhouses entrees run around 55 bucks but it's a great option for a date night or a special occasion and of course it is in a theme park so lots of kids dine there so don't feel weird about that i'm just saying i don't know that they're gonna love it as much as they would love going to a character meal or t-rex or something like that now there are also a lot of good options in epcot and several good options for steak houses in disney world so you have a lot to choose from in both categories la celie is wonderful but it may not come out on the top of both of those lists for you if you're in epcot and thinking is there someplace else we want to eat here and are there better steakhouses now the food is solid though the atmosphere is dark and small it can feel cramped and crowded it's been very very nice dining there recently because covet 19 means they can't pile people on top of each other so you basically have a little space to spread out but this is a restaurant that loves its banquette seating where you've got a bunch of people real close to each other so when i used to go there prior to covet 19 i would say hey can i get a four-top table or at least just not be seated at band cat right next to somebody else because it did feel very cramped and very tight and i i did not enjoy that part of it now la celier is fine dining prices but the ambiance might not quite match if you're looking for something super super luxe the cheddar cheese soup that's served here is an iconic disney world snack that everyone should try at least once they've got a truffle filet and that's delicious i always ask for extra truffle butter sauce because that stuff is incredible and i would bottle it and sell it if i could and overall i mean it's a decent menu it's a small menu the food is consistently pretty good but again you want to sit in a cramped cellar eating your steak or would you rather eat someplace else in epcot or at a different steak house that's a choice you're going to have to make like i said it's one of my favorite restaurants i love eating there what can i say but that could be nostalgia talking all right the next one you are wondering about is tiffins so we're back over at animal kingdom for another fancy restaurant and some more exotic food including the other place in disney world where you can get a whole fried fish now tiffan's is right next door to nomad lounge which i rave about on a regular basis you guys know no bad lounge one of my favorite places to relax and chill in animal kingdom and tiffins is animal kingdom's fine dining restaurant the interior is beautiful it's really really cool they've basically based it on the research that the team did to make the plans for animal kingdom so you've got all kinds of models and all kinds of really cool artwork that is all tied in to the origins of disney's animal kingdom and it's amazing to just walk it's like dining in a museum it's very very cool now the menu is very high quality it's unique and the services is of course excellent this is when you definitely have to find the menu appealing for to be worth it though there's a lot less on the menu for picky eaters here though if you're looking to branch out a bit tiffins is gonna fit the bill this restaurant does fly under the radar a lot of people don't know it's there and they don't know what it is so that means you're more likely to find a last-minute reservation here if you're stuck without somewhere to eat dinner if you like the idea of an indian and african inspired menu you can definitely give this one a try order the bread service it's excellent but know that i've actually found the portion sizes here to be somewhat small and for the price that you're paying it doesn't feel like it's always the best deal so that's my complaint about tiffins but i know most people absolutely love this restaurant and they will defend it to the death and i know that several of my own team members here at dfb love this restaurant so it's not my favorite i kind of don't feel like i've gotten my money's worth the past couple times i've gone but i know there are many of you who think otherwise so please let us know in the comments drop in the comments your experiences at tiffin's so that our viewers can read what you guys think okay next we're going to talk about california grill this is the top of disney's contemporary resort is that 15th floor on that hotel and it's long been the go-to option for date nights and special occasions in disney world when you don't want to shell out for victoria and alberts which of course is the super super super super super fancy restaurant over at grand floridian now cali grill is an upscale modern chic atmosphere it offers some stunning views of disney world and the magic kingdom fireworks the food is very pricey we're talking 25 sushi rolls 50 plus entrees it's definitely not for everyone but if you're looking for something high-end and lux in an iconic disney world location with accessible food i mean this is california-based cuisine then this is probably your spot there's also very easy access to magic kingdom although every time i try to go to california grill from the magic kingdom or go to the magic kingdom from california girl i've never dressed appropriately because you know california girls a fancy restaurant it does have a dress code and so it's hard to just sort of wander in there in your shorts and t-shirt and sneakers and so i tend to always throw a knit dress in my backpack when i know i'm going to california grill after magic kingdom just make sure you don't ride splash mountain right before you leave because then you're just going to smell like splash mountain water when you go to california grill i say this from experience okay so what are you gonna order when you go to california grill well the goat cheese ravioli on the appetizer menu comes highly recommended it is absolutely delicious personally i'd be very very comfortable just ordering two goat cheese ravioli appetizers and having that be my meal it's real good even though i don't even like goat cheese i can't explain it it's so good now this dish has been around since day one of the restaurant and it continues to be a crowd pleaser cali grill may not consistently be the best restaurant in disney world but for the atmosphere and the vibes it can definitely be worth it if you're looking for something special now again this is another restaurant that suffers from inconsistency i have had incredible meals here with incredible service and i have had so-so meals here with service that really wasn't up to par for the price that i'm paying at the restaurant lately i've had less than perfect experiences that may just be because i am pickier now about the experience since i started doing the blog so that said i will still never turn down a invite to california grill so when a friend says hey let's go to california girl i'm always on board now if you just want to try it out before you go and have a full meal don't forget california girl does have a lounge you can head up to the lounge with no reservation and order from the menu so you can get an appetizer you can get a cocktail and just sort of hang out in the lounge and see how you feel about the restaurant lounge is right in the middle of the restaurant so you'll definitely get the vibe when you're there and you'll understand what the restaurant's all about you'll be able to look at the menu and try something small and see if you want to shell out for a full meal all right next on the list that you guys wanted to hear about is sana this is another dfb restaurant favorite that seems to be getting a bit more love lately why because it's currently the only restaurant open at disney's animal kingdom lodge and that means reservations are going a lot faster for this little hidden gem than they used to now everybody used to have the opportunity to go to bulma or jiko and those are kind of big brothers of sanaa and they get a lot more attention but sanaa is getting the attention now all right if you're into the menu at tiffin's but you're looking for something a little bit more low-key and casual inexpensive or you want an excuse to go visit animal kingdom lodge if you're not staying there then you should most definitely check out sana the big draw of this restaurant is the florida ceiling windows that look out onto the resorts savannah so that means you get to see the animals out there now opt for a reservation at lunch here or an early dinner so you're dining while they're still light and you can see the animals i'm afraid a bunch of people make a reservation here at night and they think they're gonna see the animals and all you can see is your reflection in the window because it's dark out there so if you want to see the animals and take advantage of what i think is the best part of dining it's tsuna then make that reservation at lunch and on top of that if you're like me and a perfectionist and you want the absolute perfect experience make that reservation for the kind of the first seating or as soon as the restaurant opens and request a table by the window because there's a bunch of tables that aren't by the window that don't let you see the animals as clearly so you want to sit right next to the window to get the best experience here now again the menu is different it is african and indian inspired you're gonna find things that should appeal to most of your party though definitely take a peek at that menu in advance so you aren't in for any surprises when you get there and again same as at tiffin's the bread service here is absolutely incredible you can get tons of sauces different types of bread and i tell you i dream about that spicy buttered naan bread it is so good and there's just nothing like it all right number 14 restaurants you wanted to hear about is liberty tree tavern liberty tree taverns in magic kingdom it's often overshadowed by other restaurants in the park that we mentioned earlier be our guest crystal palace cinderella's royal table etc but it has long been a favorite with us here at dfb me specifically there are no surprises on the menu here this one is classic american food it is comfort food it's basically thanksgiving dinner every single day at liberty tree tavern the ooey gooey toffee cake for dessert is one of my favorite desserts in disney world that's one of the things i built disney food blog on is how much i love ooey gooey taffy cake and all of the food here is pretty consistently delicious even though it is definitely clearly kind of an assembly line sort of thing now the food isn't winning any awards for originality and this probably isn't your top pick for a date night location it's crowded there's a lot of people it's loud there's a bunch of kids crying absolutely but if you're looking for comfort food at a reasonable price and it'll keep the whole family happy liberty tree tavern is gonna be it but i've got another restaurant coming up in just a couple minutes here that is going to give it a run for its money so stay tuned on that count all right the next one we're talking about is called the wave of american flavors that's right there is a very long title to this restaurant and there is an ellipsis in it i never understand why disney puts ellipses in their restaurant names but they went through a phase there where everything had ellipses in it anyway the wave of american flavors is also located over at disney's contemporary resort although it's on the first floor there are no windows and many people might not even know it's there because it's tucked way in the back of the first floor lobby and the entrance is pretty understated relatively the restaurant has a great breakfast with made to order omelettes sweet potato pancakes and it used to be a buffet breakfast which was a great great deal right now there's no buffet but you can of course order a la cart and breakfast prices are super reasonable here during non-coved times they've got that buffet with the full a la carte menu as well but right now it is just a la carte now dinner doesn't garner as much enthusiasm as the breakfast does from folks though the wave does have some really great dishes and they are also kind of pushing the envelope with their menu quite a bit so it's a very interesting place to dine in terms of food it is not an interesting place to dine in terms of atmosphere i like to say that the wave looks like a 1970s car dealership that's the vibe i get from it everything is burnt orange there's no windows it feels very drab in there i don't like the decoration so heads up about that if the atmosphere in which you're dining very much affects how you feel about the meal definitely walk in and check it out before you decide to eat there now the wave does have a full bar and you can sit at the bar and there's a lounge area as well and it does have some very very fun cocktails on offer the wave is unique in that it also uses primarily screw top wines that was kind of its claim to fame when it first opened now if you're not concerned with atmosphere or meeting mickey for breakfast the wave is a great deal before you go to magic kingdom with a lot of delicious options and again it's just a five minute walk over to magic kingdom so this could be a great way to start your day all right now here's that restaurant that i teased earlier the plaza restaurant again at magic kingdom you guys wanted to know about all of the magic kingdom restaurants didn't you now this one is just classic the menu and atmosphere vibe perfectly with main street usa the menu's full of classic american comfort food along with ice cream sundaes and milkshakes it's not exceptionally themed like beer gaster skipper canteen but the value and quality of the food and the great service in fact one of our dfb team members used to be a server at the plaza that makes up for the lack of extravagant theming now expect classics like burgers and club sandwiches and the entrees come in at around 20 or less so it's a great deal for a table service restaurant it's one we always talk about when we're talking about budget table service restaurants if you need a solid tasty meal in magic kingdom the plaza restaurant is definitely worth it and that's what you want to think about when you're like hey we need to sit down we want some air conditioning we don't want to fight with mobile order but we don't want to spend a million dollars plaza restaurant is going to come in clutch okay next we're going to talk about kona cafe kona cafe is often overshadowed by its big brother ohana at disney's polynesian village resort though this restaurant does offer up some unique dishes at reasonable price points and i'm glad you guys wanted to hear about this one because it doesn't get talked about very much like i said if you think about polynesian you're always going to think about ohana now is kona the best food you're gonna get at disney world uh probably not but it's decent and if you're craving tonga toast which of course is that amazing banana stuffed cinnamon and sugar rolled french toast and the family wants a sit-down breakfast before visiting magic kingdom or you're craving polynesian-inspired fair but couldn't get the reservation at ohana or it's not open yet kona cafe could be exactly what you're looking for entrees around 25 bucks for dinner 15 for breakfast which is a fairly reasonable price point for disney world table service restaurants and portion sizes are good here the menu is definitely outside of typical theme park fair there's a full sushi bar pork belly noodle bowls uh so good and other polynesian and asian inspired dishes to choose from breakfast is legendary here so is this signature level food no but it's real good comfort food real good island food it's a super boring atmosphere it looks like a run-of-the-mill hilton hotel restaurant but it is a really really worth it option if you're coming out of the magic kingdom you just need to chill or you're heading into the magic kingdom that day you need an early breakfast and don't forget right now while ohana is closed you can get a very similar bread pudding to what they serve at ohana now at kona cafe at the moment and also remember the tambu lounge is open which is right outside of ohana and they've got a couple of ohana dinner options there as well so be sure to be aware that that lounge is available and you can dine there as well all right next restaurant you wanted to hear about beaches and cream okay beaches and cream over at disney's beach club resort one of my favorites this is the ultimate comfort food restaurant in disney world i'm so glad i get to talk about comfort food it really is my favorite kind of food not gonna lie grilled cheese loaded tater tots delicious and outrageous ice cream sundaes and milkshakes the restaurant has an old school soda shop five it just got renovated and expanded so it's much much bigger than it was before if you haven't been there for a while you're gonna be surprised and the vibe here makes this restaurant very accessible if you're traveling with young kids the menu is gonna be right up their alley you will find something for all of your picky eaters here beaches and cream is another one of those restaurants we talk about all the time when we talk about table service budget restaurants most entrees here are priced around 16 or 17 which for disney world is great because in disney world you're gonna pay 16 bucks or 17 bucks for some fast food entrees as well so portion sizes are decent here quality is always good the service here is excellent a lot of these servers have been here for so many years and i'm so glad that they're back at their home restaurant beaches and cream because it was closed for such a long time when they were doing the renovation so i don't know how you could go to beaches and cream and feel like you didn't get your money's worth but i'm sure some of you have some negative stories you might be able to share with us but it's one of my favorites and it's really hard to get a reservation there because it's a smaller restaurant so if you want to eat here be sure to book early all right now we're going to head right into epcot from beaches and cream and we are going to talk about coral reef i'm so excited this is on this list i don't get to talk about coral reef very much on the channel because it's kind of a forgotten restaurant there are so many restaurants that are better than coral reef in epcot so a lot of people don't go over there so i'm glad i get to talk about it for a little bit okay so this is over in epcot's future world at the seas with nemo and friends and kids and ocean enthusiasts are gonna love that one entire wall of the restaurant is a gigantic aquarium where you can watch fish and stingrays and sharks and sea turtles swim by while you are dining but if you're looking for some really exceptional cuisine there are a lot better options just a short walk away in epcot so this is rarely going to be the restaurant that we're going to see yeah blow your budget over here this is of course a seafood restaurant and there's a lot of seafood on the menu even though that's kind of what you're watching through the big glass window at the same time but honestly as i'm thinking about it there's nothing that's really standing out to me to recommend the food is fine but it's never really blown me out of the water no pun intended which is unfortunate because the atmosphere is really exceptional here now this is one that i think will not be worth it for a lot of you but if the menu seems really intriguing and your kids love the idea of watching the fish while they dine it's not a bad restaurant it's just not the best in disney world and it is kind of pricey so you're not really going to get the value for your money in terms of the quality here but again there's a lot of restaurants in disney world that are a one and done you just want to see what it's like you want to experience the theming and coral reef definitely fits into that category all right now we're heading all the way over to disney springs we're wrapping up the top 20 most requested restaurant reviews but don't worry we got a lot more to talk about in this video with another absolute dfb favorite homecoming in disney springs has one of the best brunches i've ever had in my life now it's only offered on weekends from 9 30 to 1 and reservations go real quick it's very popular with locals but when you see that menu you will be completely lost as to what to order so i suggest you spend some time with the menu online before you go so you can really really figure out what you want to eat now even if you can only stop by for a quick bite and drink at the restaurant's moonshine bar i recommend you try to work this restaurant into your disney world plans it's definitely worth it the menu is accessible with southern comfort food the bar features a lot of unique and interesting cocktails that set it apart from many restaurants in disney world the service is decent here the atmosphere is pretty low key but it is crowded this is a crowded restaurant all the time another note here is that the restaurant was opened by celebrity chef art smith who is a florida born chef that's why it's called homecoming he for a long time was oprah's personal chef and he's just creating some really really great stuff none of it's good for you but all of it's delicious now there were a few other restaurants that quite a few of you wanted to know about so i'm going to give a quick rundown of those i know this is getting to be a really long video but if you want even more restaurant reviews and quick reference guides pick up a copy of our dfb guide to walt disney world dining that ebook is over 700 pages of in-depth planning tips worksheets along with reviews of every single restaurant at disney world it's everything i know in a book and it'll help you decide where to eat which restaurants are worth your money head to dfbstore.com and use code youtube for a discount on that dining guide or any of our festival or snack guides and there's also options to bundle books so you can save money on them so grab those bundles those are our best sellers okay here are some quick little rundown reviews of a few of the other restaurants you were super interested in and i have a really hard time not talking about everything you wanted to know about so we're just going to run through really really quick okay tepinetto tepenado's and epcot's japan pavilion it's a typical hibachi restaurant like benihana it's just like that there's nothing unique to disney world but the food is very very good i mean it's meat and butter and vegetables what can you not enjoy and it's definitely a fun atmosphere so great for picky eaters great for families and you get a show with your meal lots of fun okay sci-fi dine in theater this is one of the more themed restaurants over in hollywood studios we didn't get over to hollywood studios very much did we on this one you guys don't care very much about those restaurants you definitely won't find something like this at home basically you are sitting in convertible cars that have been fitted with tables and you're watching movies like you are in a drive-in theater it's really really fun really interesting theming now the menu features mostly kind of burgers sandwiches ribs there's a pasta dish there's a chicken dish you know it's a standard disney table service mid-priced restaurant menu it's nothing exceptional there are a few solid options kids and movie buffs are gonna love sitting in this car watching old movie clips it's real dark in there though so either bring a flashlight with you or use the flashlight on your phone to read your menu is it worth it maybe it's worth it for the atmosphere probably but it is pricey food and it's not the best food you're gonna eat in disney world but i'm not gonna turn down an invitation to sci-fi i enjoy it okay viennapoli if you're craving pizza in disney world viannapoli in epcot's italy pavilion is probably where you want to go they import water from italy to make their pizza super authentic so they say nearly everything i've had here is delicious and things are very splittable which can mean better value now the service here is not the best so build in some extra time to wait and the prices are definitely high is it worth it yeah i think so i like to go here and honestly it's my husband's favorite restaurant in walt disney world okay chefs de france epcot's france pavilion has a lot of phenomenal restaurants but if you're not a fan of higher end french cuisine and super super expensive french cuisine then check out the menu at chefs de france to see if the dishes and price point are a good fit for you this is their mid-price restaurant in the france pavilion i've always found it delicious service is sometimes good and sometimes rough you never know here but i think it's worth trying if you're interested in the french food and the menu the atmosphere here by the way is exactly like a french bistro you will feel like you're in paris when you walk in there all right hollywood brown derby if you're looking for some fine dining on your hollywood studios day and you don't want to have to leave the park then try hollywood brown derby the restaurant has some classic old hollywood vibes tasty and more upscale menu items and a fabulous cocktail list i have always had great service here the servers here are unbelievable and this is a restaurant that my team and i tend to gravitate to regularly so we really like it and hollywood and vine oh my goodness we're covering all the hollywood studios restaurants here if you want to meet characters in hollywood studios especially if you have some disney junior fans or you love seeing mickey and friends and some fun costumes hollywood and vine is going to deliver they have disney junior character meal in the morning for breakfast and then you've got mickey and friends for lunch and dinner now this is another restaurant that has transitioned from a buffet to a pre-fixed meal the quality has definitely improved while the atmosphere here is kind of boring and loud crowded disney restaurant esque it's still decent food it's pricey because it's a character meal but if you need a character meal in hollywood studios this is your only option okay there you have it a quick rundown of over 25 restaurants in disney world as you can tell the is it worth it question kind of depends on who you are and what you're looking for in your dining experience like we say here at dfb every restaurant has its fans a restaurant isn't good or bad it's just right for different types of people so our job here is to eat at all of them and make sure you know what it's like so you can figure out if you're one of those people that that restaurant is right for now your favorite restaurant in disney world might not be someone else's favorite restaurant in disney world which is why my biggest recommendation is to always do the research take your family into consideration don't just listen to what aunt susan says or your facebook moms group there are a million different ways to do disney and only you know the right way for you to do disney so we're hoping that we're helping you out that we're adding some value as you plan and as you figure this out because you will spend a ton of money on food in disney world and it's our job and literally why we get up in the morning to make sure you're not wasting that money on food in disney world all right everybody thank you so much for listening i know this has been a long one i'm sorry thank you for watching as always this is aj for disney food vlog and we'll see you real soon
