[Music] um [Music] do [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] hey there everybody welcome back to the channel you're watching a ritter bit will do and it is shaping up to be an absolutely gorgeous day out here at uconn acres and i want to talk to you today about this shipping container so if you're interested at all in getting a shipping container to store your stuff stick around i'll tell you why it's a good idea inside this shipping container you can see i have my tractor it's a 3940 kubota and it has the backhoe on it all together it's about 22 feet long well this is a 20 foot shipping container and you can see that tobacco is sticking out of it but but it does fit and i'm going to show you how it does fit so if you're in the same type of situation we're just going to walk up here to the front and a squeeze past this outrigger here we go i'm going to show you what i do normally i get this thing all the way in here what i do is i just i get this bucket i put it all the way up to the wall all the way up to the wall here and i disconnect it right i just disconnect the quick hitch or the quick attach i disconnect that and then i put the loader arms right on top of the bucket and the tractor fits like a glove however the other thing that i need to do is i need to lower the backhoe just a little bit and then i need to swing it over to the side and uh and it it fits without an inch to spare but it does fit so if you have a tractor in the same type of situation and you've got a backhoe you can make things fit sometimes it's pain in the butt but it works uh it's because shipping containers come in 20 footers or 40 footers i didn't need the 40 footer and it's a lot bigger and more expensive now this shipping container is seven and a half feet tall this is your regular standard height shipping container seven and a half feet tall they do come in two different versions there's a standard shipping container and there's a high cube what they call the high cube and i believe i think that's either eight feet or eight and a half feet tall or maybe nine i'm not positive but this one will fit um the tractor fits in here the l series the grand l series will fit in a seven and a half foot doors right if you got a backhoe that's a different issue now what i did to make this shipping container vented uh i vented it so there wouldn't be any condensation in there i put these little two two inch vents up here see those little vents i got a whole bunch of them all the way down there i've got one on this end on the bottom and one on that end of the bottom all together i've got 18 of those little two inch vents on the shipping container and it does a great job of ventilation there's always every time i go in there there's not stale air it's fresh air i can tell that the the container is getting air going through it you know the wind is passing through it and it's well vented everything in there is dry as can be but the best part guys the best part look at these heavy-duty rubber seals okay heavy duty rubber seals all the way around the door all the way well not in this door and on the other side on the other door [Music] let's go over to this side but look this heavy duty rubber seal it seals it tight here it is here's the one for the door it seals it super duper tight mice squirrels rats nothing is going to get into a shipping container it's just a fantastic way to store your equipment i i can't be happier with it this was a fantastic decision now the other reason i'm happy with it in minnesota we get some serious storms once in a while and as you can see there's some significant trees around here if any one of these trees lands on that shipping container the shipping containers not probably not even going to get dented i mean really these trees are big but that shipping container is structurally sound it is tough so nothing is going to get into that thing or nothing's going to damage that shipping container versus you know a tarp or a a pole building or you know some type of awning that i could store the tractor underneath it's a perfect solution i found that shipping container used online i think i paid about three thousand dollars for it i think they're probably a little bit more now you probably find one for about 3 500 bucks but look at that cost compared to a regular building cost shipping container is probably a cheaper way to go and it is rodent proof okay all you got to do is you put a few vents in it on the side i used some two inch hole saws i think i got them from harbor freight i i bought two or three of them because it was harbor freight stuff and they're cheap and the quality isn't always that good well drilled some holes with the hole saw pop those vents into place guys i can't be happier with this thing it is just solid it really stores the tractor really well couldn't be happier with it so just my tip for you guys if you're thinking about a shipping container it's a great idea i'm not stopping you i highly encourage it okay i might have the link to these vents somewhere i i think i got them on amazon if i can find the link i'll put it in the description and uh if you're looking for something like that because it was the only place i could find them i could not find them at the hardware store or anything i got them on amazon alright guys i'd appreciate it if you give this video a like subscribe to the channel check out our facebook group a ritter bit will do and until next time guys keep on tractor and god bless [Music]
