all right you want to learn how to create very awesome and easy cinematic logo animations right here in after effects we're going to do that in this video we're going to break this down to three specific techniques one is logo texturing which is super easy to do logo animation which is even easier to do and building out your scene which is the easiest thing to do in after effects so hey what's going on internet this is josh noel from sun duck film welcome to our channel if you're new here be sure to hit that subscribe button hope everyone is doing awesome today so we know what we're doing let's jump in and let's get started all right if you want to follow along with our video you can download our project files for absolutely free i will link them below but we'll come over here to our tutorial composition we already have our logo in here and when you have a logo ready to go go to layer pre-compose and just call it logo placeholder and move all attributes into new composition click ok all right so now what we're going to do is we're going to bring in a texture so i have a silver texture here just for like a gradient you can also use a gold texture if you want to make your logo golden but i'm going to use silver because i like that the best you can download project files if you want these elements but you can just you know search them up on google but we'll bring this layer underneath our logo placeholder and where it says toggle switch and modes we'll make sure we see the track mat and set the track map for the silver texture to alpha matte okay then we can grab our silver texture hit s9 keyboard for scale and we can scale this down so we get a little bit more fine detail we can also hit tr and keyboard for opacity and lower the opacity by a little bit it'll darken out the logo but you'll see what we'll do in a few moments we can also for a quick technique go to effect blur sharpen and add a quick gaussian blur and kind of blur out everything and you know that's what you have right now but we got to go ahead and add multiple layers onto this so what we'll do is we'll grab our logo placeholder and we'll duplicate it by going up to edit duplicate and there's that so what we want to do here is apply a quick uh ambient map to this so i just have a random photo here that i'm going to apply to this just to give it a little bit more atmosphere so we'll go ahead and bring that map layer underneath our duplicated logo placeholder and as before we'll set our track map to alpha mattes okay and we'll go ahead and scale down our image by a little bit here and also what we're going to do is hit pure keyboard for position uh and move this over to one side add a keyframe for this and go forward in time maybe like 10 seconds or so and we'll go ahead and just exposition this over to the other side and this will create a little bit of movement on our logo now what we want to do is go to effect blur sharpen and add another gaussian blur to this and really you know blur this out okay awesome and then for our blend mode we want to set this to screen awesome then what we need to do is go to effect color correction and just apply a quick tint to this to get back to that silver color and now we're going to have this very nice ambient you know animation on our logo there's a little bit more reflection to it so that's cool then what we want to do is once again duplicate our logo placeholder and this time around we're going to go to layer new adjustment layer and we'll call this lights and what we'll do is bring this adjustment layer underneath our duplicated logo placeholder and once again set the track map to alpha matte all right with your light adjustment layer go to effects generate and grab a cc light sweep okay and we'll zoom out here and you'll see that there's an anchor point from the cc light sweep that we can easily move around that's fine all right so what we want to do here is maybe change the direction to zero degrees come here to width and we can just expand this by a little bit that'll make the lights you know streak a little bit thicker and he also come here to say sweep intensity we can increase this by a touch and you know that should be good for now what we want to do though is coming to the beginning of our timeline and add a keyframe for center okay then let's go ahead and just move this light streak over to say the left side of the logo and we'll move forward in time it'd be two seconds and we'll have our light streak move over to the right side of the logo where it's kind of off of it so you'll have this very simple animation here of a light streak going by but what i like to do is to take this effect and duplicate it and then just hit u on your keyboard to bring up the keyframes and you'll see that we'll have our second effect here take those keyframes and just offset them in time maybe by a second so then you'll have another variation of this and let's come to the first keyframe and let's just move our light streak off the logo so we'll have this second one goes by we'll duplicate this for a third time and once again we'll just bring up those new keyframes and offset it maybe a second in time maybe a little bit more it's up to you how you want to play that out and when you're happy with your results you'll have your light sweeps moving across your logo and also with our light layers like they will go to effect perspective and add a bevel alpha awesome so we're going to do one thing we're going to add just a little bit of extra texture to this so we'll take our logo placeholder again and we'll grab a dirt texture so i have a dirt texture right here and you know we'll go ahead and put this underneath our logo set the track map once again to alpha matte and nice now we have a little bit of a dirt texture here you can scale it down to give it more detail and i think that looks awesome and before we move further into our tutorial i want to give a huge shout out to our 500 motion graphics starter pack extension right here inside of after effects all right so this is our motion graphics starter pack extension which has over 500 templates in this extension where you can preview them by just hovering over them and then we find a template that you want you can click on apply we have titles plenty of awesome motion graphics animated backgrounds social media animations and much more so for example if we want to apply a title to our composition we preview what we're looking for click on apply and it automatically applies a full title animation to our composition which we can go into and then we can easily change out our titles and we come into our control layer and we can resize our graphics to fit our titles and quickly change our colors to match our brand and everything will fully update in your main composition and to spruce this up even more we can apply accent motion graphics to bring this to the next level with a few clicks of a button we're able to put together a full after effects composition with motion graphics and titles so if you're looking to save a tremendous amount of time and produce awesome work right here in after effects you can take a look at our motion graphics starter pack along with our other packs off our website if you do pick up anything from our site you will be supporting our channel so thank you very much okay so for our second technique we're going to animate our logo so we'll grab all of our layers down here and go to layer pre-compose and we just call it logo texture all right awesome so we're coming to our project window and we need to bring in our logo placeholder composition so go ahead and bring that into your comp like so awesome so what we're going to do here is first of all we'll duplicate our logo placeholder so we'll have another copy of this we'll turn it off for now and we'll come here to our bottom layer rename this to stroke awesome so what we'll do is go to effect generate and we'll grab vegas and which is blend mode set this to transparent let's set our segments to one and let's come here to the width we can increase this by a little bit until it's nice and thin we can also compare the hardness of that to one as well come here the midpoint opacity set to one and set the midpoint position all the way to max and you can also set your end opacity to one as well okay so then we're just going to animate this so we'll come here at the beginning of our timeline and we'll add a keyframe for length and rotation and we'll just hit u on keyboard to bring up those keyframes and we can move them forward in time maybe about two seconds and we'll set our length down to zero and we can also change our color of this to white of course and then we'll come here to rotation and we can just offset the rotation by a little bit so now we'll have our logo animation kind of like so and that's cool we can of course expand the keyframes and make them easy ease keyframes so nice we have a nice logo animation here let's also go to effect generate and let's grab cc light sweep and as before we'll just animate this to go across and what i would do is take our color here and actually make it a little bit of a darker gray this way you can actually see the light sweep effect so we'll come here we'll add a keyframe for center move it over a little bit and we'll come forward here and we'll just have this animate across our logo placeholder here or a stroke nice all right then what i want to do is toggle switch the modes and set our track map for our stroke layer to alpha inverted matte and this will just kind of clean up the logo a little bit better if you have your logo placeholder in there so that's why we brought that you know directly there and then what i would like to do is take our logo texture let's offset it in time for like two seconds so then boom we have our stroke and then our texture will pop on so we're going to turn that on and what we're going to do is we're going to grab our logo texture and our stroke and hit t our keyboard for opacity we'll add a keyframe for both of these and we'll move them forward in time by you know maybe 12 frames and then we'll set our opacity for our logo texture to zero percent and we'll go ahead and bring that 100 keyframe forward to the playhead and then we'll move forward and by 12 frames and set that stroke opacity to zero percent so what's going to happen is that these are simply just going to trade into this um and that's fine and make the last keyframes easy keyframes but we want to be able to sell this cut a little bit better so what we're going to do is go to layer new null object and grab all of your layers and if you also have a title go ahead and pair this null as well and we will do that and what we're going to do is appear keyboard for position we'll add a keyframe for this and we'll move that keyframe forward in time to you know 12 frames forward and then we'll bring down our y position of our logo so what's going to happen it's just going to move up and be very subtle so happen down here and then boom kind of all works together and then also let's say asking keyboard for scale and let's add a keyframe for stat and let's move forward to the end of our animation and let's just scale forward by a little bit so this will give us a little bit of a nice scale forward animation as if it's constantly animating and now we have our animation of our logo all right so for our third technique we want to go ahead and build out the atmosphere of the scene and really bring this together so we have this asset called uh you know volumetric light it's a free download from premium b i will link it below you get a full pack of these i've been using these for years but i have this one asset that we will be using and i'm going to bring this into our timeline and set the blend mode to screen and we can scale this down and it comes in as a you know kind of a warmer color so go to effect color correction curve and i'm going to blue channel go ahead and just move that up come here the red channel and i'll just move it down so we've got this nice teal bluish look going on here with our dust layer so essentially we have this very nice dust in here light and looks really good but i also want to go to layer new adjustment layer and we'll call it blur all right then we'll go to effect blur sharpen and add camera lens blur and you know we'll come here to you know basically the cut here and we'll set this blur radius down to zero add a keyframe for it come here to the beginning of our timeline and we can set this up to like you know 30 maybe a little bit less than that maybe we'll go like 20 on the camera lens blur nice so what's gonna happen is everything's gonna team out of focus you're gonna have some nice bokeh and it'll kind of readjust into focus and then we'll have our animation a good way to start the overall composition and then i wanna go ahead and end out the animation uh by just kind of dissolving the logo and having it blend in with the light streak so what we're gonna do is say around you know five seconds this is where we want our animation and we'll grab our volumetric light layer and we'll go up to edit split layer and we'll grab our you know back end here and we'll set our blend mode to hard light and you get a completely different look i kind of just want the light to take over so what we're going to do first of all is we're going to expand the end point of our cutted layer and simply all we're going to do you know hit tier keyboard for opacity add a keyframe for this move that keyframe to the end of the cut there and set this down to zero percent go to our bottom layer and we'll add a keyframe for opacity go to the last keyframe here and set that opacity down to zero percent so these will simply just trade off i'm going to make all the keyframes easy easy keyframes by hitting f9 our keyboard and here's our full animation of everything put together it's really coming together and it looks really nice and then i just want to be able to continue to fade out our logo so we'll grab say our you know if you have a title in here if you have a logo grab the logo texture and just hit here and keyboard for opacity we'll add a keyframe for both of these and just add a keyframe right there and we'll move forward you know we can drag this out for another second and set the opacity of these down to zero percent so as this will continue to fade down and slowly dissolve into the background and that's a really nice thing that we can do to help finish off this animation if you want to learn more about this title animation technique all we did was i added a quick opacity and a position to it i'm going to use a range selector if you want to learn more about advanced title animation techniques if you're new to after effects i will link a tutorial below and you can learn a few uh title animation techniques where you can do whatever you're looking to do so that is our tutorial on these cinematic logo techniques right here have after effects hopefully you're able to take these
