"Daj mi infinitiv" ..."jebati?" Hi, my name is Liz and today I'll be sharing with you my most embarrassing mistakes that I've made in the Serbian language most of you may know actually probably none of you know March 2020 marks my one-year anniversary learning Serbian for the very first time I thought that I'd shares some of my most embarrassing mistakes that I made in my second trip to Serbia in December during the winter which was actually a very mild winter "supposedly" but I got so so sick I am the type of person who likes to ride a bicycle in 40 degree heat I've probably impressed you but I I have an electric bike let's go into the video "Broj Jedan" my boyfriend and I were visiting an old friend and whilst we were at the bar we met another lovely lady who was also Serbian at that point I had consumed liquor of sorts my peak performance in Serbian is definitely whilst I have had to a bit to drink lucky a lot of the time I am drunk we were at a bar and I was talking to her friend whilst he was catching up with her and we were chatting and chatting in chat at one point in the conversation she had told me something about her life and potentially a partner or a job that she had left behind and what I wanted to say was "now you are free" "i sad ti si besplatna" yeah absolutely correct nailed it when I said that she looked at me and there was sort of a moment's silence what did I just say you said I'm free as in you're free of charge that was definitely not what I meant I meant to say but now you are free as in, free to go do what it is that you want to do in life. What I meant to say was "i sad... ti si slobodan" that was my mistake Dajle... my boyfriend and I we talk quite a bit on WhatsApp because we live 15,000 kilometers apart it's a really long way to swim we were having a chat about which Pokemon I would be and I said my Pokemon name would be lizati lizati my name Liz combined with Pikachu my boyfriend and he started laughing at me what so funny about lizati? You know what lizati means right? No... It means 'to lick' ... like this... but what was great was that lizati means I will link as in I will lick you in the future which is great I used to go to clubs or bars and being the social butterfly that I am. I would go from person to person and introduce myself they would ask me ''Kako se zoveš" naturally I go, "Liz, kao lizati" know I just wanted to make it very clear how to pronounce my name it's very loud there's a lot of noise you could have heard my name incorrectly I also licked the air to demonstrate in case they didn't hear me correctly maybe I have an accent Broj 3 I am not the only English speaker to get this one wrong there's another youtuber by the name of the Amerikanka who's an American girl living in Serbia currently I watched a lot of her videos or when I went to Serbia for the very first time for some reason I thought it'd be a great idea to make this mistake in class I like to eat volim da jedem but what came out was volim da je$%m my teacher went bright red she was a champ she kept a very cool cool composure and she said 'daj mi infinitiv' 'jebati' 'daj mi infinitiv' infinitive first person singular which is je%^m you take away the M you put in a -ti and you get je$%ti to eat daj mi infinitive I'm sitting there just like look I'm giving you what you want you wanted the infinitive it's je$%ti 'volim da je$%m' and then my my Canadian friend he made the point to lower his voice you know that you're saying "to f%^k" you know when your brain has those aha moments I had that moment I had been yelling - I like to f$%k at my teacher and she didn't she didn't correct me she let me correct myself it's good teaching method those are my three most cherished mistakes that I've made in Serbian I hope that you enjoyed them if you did make sure to give me a like I'll be heading to Serbia in just two weeks so I'm so excited to share that journey with you and you might get to see why I love visiting this country so often not just because of my boyfriend so subscribe and click the notification bell potentially there might be a part two to this video as I learn more and more Serbian and make more mistakes that I look forward to sharing those with you as well until next time ćao i laku noć
