3 EASY Ways to Add Water to Your Level in Unreal Engine 5

hey guys what's up and welcome to another video today I will show you the three easy ways how to add water to your uh project we will use the basic water material official Unreal Engine water plugin and free Marketplace assets so without further Ado let's start first things first uh let's go to games and let's go to third person over here make sure that you enable this started content this will add a water material to our project let's add our first water material to do that uh we need to go to the engine folder if you don't see this folder don't worry go to settings over here and make sure to enable this show engine content if you enable this you will see engine select your engine and over here type in water like this and you can see this water material we have another Pool and another Pool material but let's add this water to our level and for me this is the easiest way to add water to your level uh the second way is to use the official Unreal Engine water plugin before we start to add water plugin let's enable it go to edit plugins type in water and this water plugins you can just enable it and click restart now when you restart your engine you will get this error don't worry just uh add your water and restart it and it will be gone so just close everything and uh let's create a new level go to new level basic create and over here go to the landscape and just create one basic landscape we can go back to selection and delete the floor and now to add water just go over here under the add button and type in water and we can add the body water Body Ocean just drag and drop it to your level and you need to wait for a few moments uh for shaders to compile when it's done you can increase or decrease the size of the water you can see the ocean over here if I hit play from here you can see the water uh this way let me undo this this way you can add some Lakes just drag and drop it and you will see the lake over here you can use these uh spline points to move the lake around for example if you select this spline point or if you go right click you can click over here at spline Point here and increase the size of your Lake if you want to learn more about this water plugin you can check out this video here and the third way to add water to your level is to use a free Marketplace assets to do that we will go to the Epic Marketplace and over here just type in water and make sure to select the max price to be free and over here you can see this water materials select it and click over here add to project and we will add this to our water project one wait for a few moments to download it's a very uh small size so it's cool so we go back to Unreal Engine and we will go back to our first level to open your default level to do that just go hit over here all and use this filter over here to go and click level and Unreal Engine will open all the levels here and only level you need to choose is the third person map and we are back to our third person map to delete this uh water over here just select the floor and select this reset this property to its Basic Value uh we don't need filters so we will reset filters and over here you will see now water materials if you click it and expand it you can see materials and you can see lots of different materials over here to add your water for example let's add Lake just drag and drop it here and you can see a lake we can also add some water back like this it looks good and also you have some pixelated water if you want to make some Doom like game as you can see you have a waterfall a river wave and if you want to see all of them just go hit maps and click overview and you can see over here all the different types of water that you can use for your project and this is a three simple ways to add the water to your level if you find this helpful let me know in the comments below drop some likes and subscribes also and uh check out the channel for other uh helpful tutorials thanks for watching and have a nice day bye-bye
