so you just spent 40 or 50 Grand on a brand new Tesla just for your favorite YouTuber to tell you that there is a musthave accessory that just so happens to be $500 plus doar and I'm not going to lie guilty is charged but what can I say if I like something then I'm going to recommend it but what if you're not trying to take out a second loan just for some add-ons well you've come to the right place also everything in this video will be linked below there will be separate links for refreshed model 3 versions and for people wondering test stuff will be opening up pre-orders for refreshed model 3 accessories shortly so check the description for that okay so the first item is actually a new one for me that I installed recently and have been loving Hooks and there are different versions depending on if you have a model 3 or model y both models work with the behind the seat hooks these are super strong and great for things like handbags smaller backpacks anything with a lanyard Etc however for the trunk hooks model 3es are only compatible with the claw-like hook due to their being an exposed screw that it attaches to whereas model y's are compatible with the hooks that attach to the seat release buttons these trunk hooks are mainly designed for things like grocery bags as there's not enough vertical space for really anything else now this next one is also a new one to me storage bins for the model y you have a bin for under the seat great for yourself or whoever the driver is along with a bin for below the rear air vent great for using as a trash can or whatever your kids throw in it if you don't cheap out and get nice ones nice ones are still well under $100 they will come with velcro so your bins aren't moving around where they're not supposed to be this is very important especially for the one under the driver's seat also I'd highly recommend not getting the Alcantara like material lined ones if you plan to store maybe snacks or drinks it'll just be much much harder to clean phone mounts and you have a few options your first option is a dash mounted phone Mount these can be put anywhere along your dash as they use a hooking mechanism this means to the right or left of your wheel or even in the middle like an instrument cluster however if you're looking for a charging Mount then magb back is the way to go you probably know them from their Rim case it essentially fixes one of the biggest problems Tesla owners have and that's Cur rash it covers up existing Cur rash and protects from future Cur rash I'll have it linked below if you want to know more because it's not under $100 so we're not going to be discussing it any further but back to the phone mount magb back in my opinion makes the nicest charging phone mount that's available for the 3 and Y it attaches to your screen in a way that looks very OEM while also having a cable that is the perfect length and very easy to hide the mount also has a slight tilt so if your phone uses a Face Unlock you aren't going to have to do neck gymnastics while you're driving to unlock it oh and if your phone isn't mag safe compatible magb back does sell cases for iPhones or non iPhones that enables the use of Mag safe the case also enables the use of these little sticks that they include that you can put anywhere and attach your phone to I have one right in front of my toilet maybe I shouldn't say that for our next accessory we have something that I recommend everyone have a tire inflator and what better inflator to have than one that is completely cordless can pump up all four tires on a single charge read your PSI in real time Auto cuts off doubles as a battery bank and has a flashlight if you've been a viewer of the channel then you know how much I love my fanch X8 and right now if you use my link down below and head on over to Amazon you can actually apply a $20 off coupon once you apply that coupon you can also use the code January X8 it might save you even more it just depends and while we're on the topic of fante and their great little Portables the V8 which is a lightweight cordless vacuum this thing has single-handedly kept my car much cleaner instead of letting all that dirt grime and dog hair yes it comes with a dog hair removal nozzle build up until I'm able to actually wash my car I just whip this bad boy out every few days to a week then it goes back in its bag with the other nozzles that it comes with and fits perfectly in the side door Cubbies and just like the tire inflator using my link below will take you over to Amazon and allow you to apply a 25% off coupon now these next two accessories are all about protection first are mud flaps or splash guards whatever they're known to you as I personally call them mud flaps and the first thing you should know right off the bat is do not buy ones that require you to drill holes in your car the model 3 and Y are designed with screwless mud flaps in mind so they have little holes in the wheel well that allows for mounting I've used and I recommend the ones that clip onto the panel these are the easiest to install offer good side and lower protection and look the best the only downside is if you have a model 3 you'll need to apply a little piece of ppf to where it attaches if you don't and you're not thoroughly cleaning where it attaches then dirt will build up and it can begin to scratch your paint but you can find these little pieces of ppf that you can just cut a little strip for super cheap online and our second protective accessory of course it's a screen protector the screen in your Tesla has literally all the information that you need to operate the car on it so it's probably a good idea to keep it protected all it takes is that one time of throwing a bag in the front seat and missing by just a few inches or slamming on your brakes and something goes flying like I don't know someone using their phone in the back seat for you to be hit with a $1,000 plus screen repair bill from Tesla not to mention it will also protect against scratches and no one wants to look at a super scratched up screen while also providing a better touch experience thanks to the oleophobic coating oh and you can get an anti-glare matte version which cuts down on light Reflections tremendously now for an accessory that fixed one of my biggest issues from day one a cup holder insert the two major problems with the cup holders are one they have zero grip so any sudden movement can send your drink flying and two they're a one size only where most cup holders will have rubber tabs or something like that that latch onto your cup allowing for smaller size cups to be inserted without them moving and rattling around also not to mention if you spill something down into the cup holder taking out and spraying down the insert is much easier than trying to wipe out the cup holder itself organizers and I'm going to be bundling three different organizers into this part because even if you buy all three together total it's still not over $100 first is a center console organizer the center console is big and deep and after about a week it becomes a gaping hole that you drop everything down and lose this fixes that by allowing you to organize important things on top and keep bless important things down below however make sure the one you get is a sliding one to allow easy underneath access armrest same idea keep important things on top make sure you get one with an auxiliary power cutout because if you don't and you ever need to use that then you're going to need to take the insert out and lastly a hidden this isn't really an organizer but more of like an insert this goes into the top part of the armrest and allows you to hide valuable items away like your wallet or something it's just cool to have now let's head back to the trunk where we have some storage bins the model 3 has one and the model y has two you've probably noticed these random holes and with these bins you can now properly store stuff lid and all and just like the cup holder insert if you get them dirty just take them out and spray the bin down I use mine to store my quick detailing towels just a great way to separate them from everything else that's in the trunk sticking in the trunk a trunk mat now normally I would say to get mats for everything but you can't buy the cabin mats individually and together they run 180 to 225 but the rear mat you can buy separately in fact the rear trunk well front trunk and mats that velcro to the back of the seats can all be purchased individually and for under $100 but out of those I would say the trunk is definitely the most important the last thing you want to do is destroy the trunk carpet by having something in the trunk that could potentially spill over or whatever it might be you can also get a mat that has a crease down the middle and a cutout for the trunk well pull tap that way it doesn't interfere with the rest of your storage space now for an accessory that I don't use often but when I do need it I really need it Jack pads as most of you know you can't jack these cars up like traditional gas cars thanks to the massive battery Tesla has engineered the solution to this right into the underside called jack points there are two on each side and require a jack pad to be inserted from there you can jack the car up like normal I do my own wheel swaps and rotations so I use mine at least a few times a year but even if you don't plan to do any of that I'd still highly recommend you have them what if you need roadside assistance and whoever comes to your Aid doesn't have them or you take the car into a shop that doesn't have jackp pads are you going to let them run the risk of damaging your car just pick some up and keep them in the trunk well area of your car now one of the best things about owning a model 3 or a model Y is the visibility and natural cabin light thanks to the all glass roof however with all that glass comes a ton of sunlight that in the summer can let in a ton of heat yes Tesla from the factory has the glass dark enough to block out the harmful rays but trust me it still gets hot and a great solution to this is roof sun shades very easy to put up and take down very closely matches the headliner color rejects a ton of heat and doesn't require you to tint your roof and while tinting your roof is fine once you do you lose a lot of that light and then all of a sudden you can't look up at night and see the stars and that's what a lot of people like doing they also store away quite nicely this next accessory fixes one of Tesla's biggest flaws and is super cheap a j1772 adapter lock most J1 772s you find nowadays are for public level two charging the only problem is the j1772 into adapter that comes with your Tesla doesn't have a locking mechanism it locks to your car so no one could just walk up and steal it but it doesn't lock the actual j1772 charger that's to the car so any Karen could just walk up and easily unplug you this adapter lock fixes that I was originally using a 3D printed one that I got from someone on Etsy but now there's this new design out that works a 100 times better and it's only like5 extra dollars and for our final accessory under $100 and I don't even know if you could consider this an accessory cleaning supplies I'm going to have my how- to properly clean detail and protect your Tesla video linked below along with all of my cleaning supplies so if you're interested in keeping your Tesla looking as good as it did or even better on day one make sure you check that out if you know of any accessories that won't break the bank and that you'd also recommend comment down below for me along with other people to see like I mentioned at the beginning of of this video I will have all these accessories linked down below model 3 refresh versions will have their own separate links as they become available because at the time of me filming this video it just became available to order not even 24 hours ago and keep an eye out on test stuff.com for when we open up pre-orders for things like the floor mats screen protectors organizers and all that good stuff we're also going to be offering a discount from anyone that does pre-order from us just as a way of saying thank you and yeah feel free to subscribe if you're new and you want to see more Tesla stuff in your YouTube feed and I will see you all in the next one peace
