2023 COMPLETE CANVA TUTORIAL FOR BEGINNERS | STEP BY STEP CANVA COURSE

when I started my business um one of the things I was foremost on my mind then was how best I could use my content to you know get in the faces of more people I needed to create I got to the point where I had realized that you know putting out content on different platforms YouTube Facebook Instagram and every other one of them was very important to my business at that point but guess what I was clueless I was confused I didn't know where to start I couldn't afford a graphics designer I couldn't afford to hire someone to do that so and I needed to create Graphics I couldn't let Photoshop in a short time I didn't even have a laptop all I had was my small Android phone and I needed to be able to put out good content because I believe I'm a person who believes that you know your tools shouldn't limit you you're only limited by your creativity and every day I'm grateful for the gift of canva because canva helped me achieve that you know I learned to create stunning attractive visuals for my business using the tool called canva and I'm so it's so amazing how this tool has grown over time and keeps evolving keeps improving you know and looking back on that time I realized that first time I came in contact what's cool with canva I was confused like where do I start from I know this is supposed to be easy but man like what am I supposed to do where am I supposed to start what do I put on the Square how do I design what what is this used for what is that used for a very as amazing as canva was the very first time I saw it I was confused and that is the purpose of this video to help you not to be in my shoes you know I want to help you create you know beautiful stunning visuals for your business for YouTube for whatever platform even for your presentations using the tool called canva you don't need to be a designer to create stunning graphics for your business right but it all begins with you knowing how to use canvas so let us demystify canva let's take canva from being this this ambiguous tool to being the simple tool that it is that can help you take your business to the next level so guys at this point we are switching to my screen hi so here's my screen and we're going to be walking through this together step by step so for our start when you first get onto canva this is the first thing you're going to see this blank nothing is so you begin by creating an account go through the process of creating an account one of the first things canva is going to ask you is how you want to begin I love the way canvas made this so convenient because if you have a Google account you can log you can sign up with your Google account you can turn up the Facebook you can use just your email you can click on continue another way to get to see like all the other options they have available but personally I like the ideal signing with global because if my system is already connected to my Google account I just log in seamlessly every time so I love the seamless experience so I will continue with Google I would advise that you continue with any other platform you are on for the sake of today's tutorial we are going to be working with a system or a computer I'm probably going to release another tutorial using a mobile phone because for a lot of people that is how you navigate it most of the time but for the sake of this for the sake of this video we're going to be using a laptop one of the first things canva will ask you when I would also ask you is what would you like to design today one of the beauty of canvas that it gives you the option to search for what you want with the search bar that we have right here if I was wanted to create a thumbnail for my YouTube so what I wanted was a YouTube thumbnail all I need to do is come here and click on the word YouTube thumbnail and just below that it is going to give me the option to either view templates or view my own project so I'm going to make sure I click on these options that says templates and I click enter on my system and what it does is that it is going to give me all these different options for templates that I can edit and use right use to the best of my ability guys no one will judge you for using a canva template no one I don't want you to go on with like the fear of using a cover template because when I first started using canva that was where I got stuck I didn't want to use a template because I felt oh everyone is going to you know I used canva the most important thing right now is that you're trying out your content so don't be scared of using a Kappa template right you can come here and just to the search bar and just search for what you want if you are more in your mood to explore then you can click then you can explore all the different options we have at the bottom of the search bar yeah you have for you now canva gives me different options based on my recent activities that is what that is what I see under this option that says you might want to try aside from that um beside the for you options I also see the option that says document it gives me different options for document if I want to create a document it gives me different options for whiteboards presentation and a lot of other things explore it guys give you more options for videos gives you all the different templates for videos for Instagram reels for tick tock for YouTube it gives you options for things you need to print like recently I was able to help a friend create a wedding program on canva so you can create that also on canva you can create your Christmas card on card but you can create whatever another thing you might want to explore is the option to create websites on canva so guys you see that link in BIO thing you like you like so much you can create it on camera and you can create it such that the links are clickable like you can click on the links guys how amazing can that be so explore all of this in your free time but we are going to leave all of these options now and we're going to move on to create our very first side so I'm going to go back to the option what would you like to design today so depending on what want to design we can either come here and put in the word so we can search for that option and put it or we can also click on this option here that says custom size we'll discuss some size option allows us to is that it allows or select the size of what we want to create now if you have a specific measurement that you need to work with either in in in pixels or in inches or in millimeter or in centimeter you get to select whatever it is and put in the dimensions on that is option that says custom size however if you prefer to upload something and work on it there's also this option that says upload on the side you can upload whatever it is that you need to upload and start to work on it for the sake of today's video we are going to start with social social media post the very Basics Instagram so I'm going to come to this option and click on social media and at the bottom of social media it gives me all these other options will be then click on the option that says Instagram post as the moment you click on that option and any other option this is what you're going to see you're going to see your templates on your screen I mean the dimensions of what you're creating on your screen you're also going to see this panel will fit with all these different options then also at the top you're going to see all of these different options and we are going to be looking at every single one of them right let's start with this side panel this is this side panel on your left guys is where all the magic happens with canva it is where you do every single thing you need to do this is it this is the moment of truth the first thing you're going to see on that five panel is this option called designs and what this option has is templates templates for everything and anything based on what you pick this is it guys you scroll down you see more templates you see more templates you see more template now as a beginner I'm going to highly advise that you start with using templates don't try to create anything from the scratch your goal is to produce your goal is not to be the expert you first have to do to improve so first thing you need to do is create is you know explore the template so this has so many templates at the top you're going to see a search bar and that search bar guys is your secret weapon when I need to create anything I because guys even me I used I use the template feature a lot even right now I I've recruited a number of years of experience in canva and I still use the template so guys please use the template template is your secret weapon so whatever I need to create I start with the template for example if I want something that maybe has a minimalist look minimalist looks minimalist types of design and those very simple designs that tend to look elegant classy I search for what I want on the search bar so first things first let's put in the word really my list here and what canva is going to do is it is going to give me the clean simple design a simple font a simple everything it is going to give that to me right if instead I want something that looks let's see let's use the word Glam let's use the word Glam Instagram is going to give me the shiniest of things the things that pop the things that you know give you the Glam the Glam look fit if I need something brown like guys this is this is this is a hack that not a lot of people use and I want you to explore people don't really search here and people don't know what to search for so this is it if I put in the word Brown Instagram is going to give me Brown design a brown designs if I put in the words green Instagram is going up sorry why do I keep on saying Instagram sorry canva canva is going to give me green designs if I put in the words skincare canva is going to give me so many skincare templates so many beautiful templates that I can use and if I put in the words Maybe YouTube it is going to give me YouTube templates so whatever it is that you're looking for think of a word that represents the look you're going for and particularly inside Stone cover and that's it you're good now before we look at the Styles the Styles option right here where my closet is when you search for something on canva one of the things you're going to notice is the top section is going to give you more options more options related to what you search for now I I put I put in YouTube now the other option the camera is giving me is YouTube subscribe YouTube channel um like And subscribe subscribe YouTube YouTube channel logo let's click on YouTube channel logo and you see it's going to give me things related to that so you also want to explore that option I just want you to note that now the other one is um the next option there is Styles but it has nothing on YouTube channel logo now what styles does is it's going to give you fonts and colors related to what you're looking for now let me look for the word that says Brown there's a brown template Brown styles okay let me try to look for something else let me see Elegance yeah so elegant so what style does is that it shows me color color palette and text that are within that elegant range so if you're someone who is still a bit confused about the colors to use for your brand the text to use for your brand you can get to do that here so we've just explored the design option let's go to elements now elements just like the name describes is the basic building block for Instagram the elements are the basic building blocks for Instagram now your elements are those things that make your design pop like your like your graphics which is what we have here right if you follow my code so you see like your stickers like your photos like your videos If you scroll down and follow my screen you see like your charts like your tables like your frames you know I'm just gonna click on one of these elements just so you see so a square for example is an element this is like a rounded square but it's an element you know like the basic building blocks the things you used to you to build up on your design that is what an element is and I'm just gonna go back to templates less your speaking templates please pick a random template for example let's speak this template okay let's not I want to pick something that doesn't have the that doesn't have the um that isn't on Camera Pro just to give you a feel of you know what it looks like this one templates that you see is made up of different elements for example if I click on this white thing at the edge and I drag it out so to move things you drag them around guys and if I click on that I can see that it is a actually a white square that is hidden behind an image to give you that effect if I click on this image you see I can like I said you can drag things to move around that is another element you see this rectangle that is here behind this new arrival that is another element as you can see I'm moving it around and on top of that you can see that we have text you know so if I need to explore something all I need to do is go onto the screen and click on it and click on it and that is it so everything you see on this image on this template is made up of the basic building blocks basic building blocks which is your elements you know let me I'm going to add what I'm going to do right now is add a new page and to add a new page guys all I need to do is look at the bottom of the page I'm on and you see the option that says add page what that means is that on this one page on this page that we're on on this page that were on I can create more than one design so what we did was that we came to the bottom we saw an option that said add a new page and we clicked on it I can click on that option again and I'm adding a new page onto my design so let's go to a new page the first option you have is to change the background color of that page and to change the background color of that page all you need to do is go on to this option at the top right at the top left corner of this page once I click on that it gives me the option to change the color of the page and I can change it to any of the colors here I can change it to white purple blue pink I can click on any of these colors right another thing I can do is add a color from my color palette and to do that all I need to do is come to this option at the top that has the square and the Plus on it and once I click that it gives me the option to explore different colors I can either put in the color code of the color or I can come to this thing that looks like a rainbow and you know slide this white circle to explore all the different color ranges we have available let's say I want something as a shade of green I will click on this circle swipe it to green and then in this box it's going to show me all the different green tones available and then this other Circle in here I can swap it around for the shade of green that I want I can go all you know I can have like a dull pastel green but I can have a very bright green or I can have a dull duck kind of green or army green I can explore lighter shades of green green that goes into gray I can explore darker ones all you need to do is move this around or go on to the area you want and just tap on it with your cursor and that's it you know so for the sake of this let's leave our background as white so the first thing we said we're doing right now is change the background color which we've done I'm going back to Elements by clicking on this tab with elements just like we've seen are elements at the building blocks of your design all I need to do is come to this place that's this element and click on any element tap on any element I want on the page I can scroll down to see more elements or see the different options available I can also come to this search bar like we did for colors and search for something I can search for gold and what that does is that it's going to give me all the different elements that are gold it can either give me Graphics that is code it can give me photos that is called they can give me videos that have gold in it you know other gold as a color or gold or design that is gold if I scroll down I can see audio that has something to do with gold maybe the name is gold or I can also see frames that are gold so when you scroll here it gives you all these different options for what gold can be right and just like you have for color at this stop area you also see different things associated with gold so you can be more specific so if you want something more specific rather than gold which is a rather broad term you can click on that and another option I have is to come to this top area and select what exactly I want do I want gold Graphics now I'm going to scroll down so you can see what gold Graphics entails I'll click on one of them you see I like click it appears on the page click on any one of them if I want gold photos instead I come here and I get to see all the different gold photos if I want gold videos I click on videos here and it shows me all the different gold videos if I go to audio it also shows me different audios that you know has gold in it so it should either be maybe a song that has gold in it or a song about gold or with the musician called gold any of them this other option here says frame shows me different gold frames you know frames are things like just like the word frame says with frames you get to put your pictures in a frame you know like a border like a border for your pictures and then I also get to see charts now to delete this everything on the page what I'm going to do is I'm just going to click on one side of my screen drag my cursor down that selects everything I'm going to click on delete on my keyboard and that's it everything is deleted now if I don't want gold and I want to search for something else maybe let's search for let's see I see sugar I don't know why sugar came to my less liquid sugar um let's go let's scroll down to the beginning again where it gives us for this option that says all and it gives me everything that has to do with sugar again now if I don't want to go onto this upper part to click on Graphics photos videos audios I can also come to all the different options here example Graphics if I click on see all it shows me everything that has to do with sugar also and as you can see at the top of the page you can it gives me all the different things related to Sugar so I can search specifically for those and just like the other ones once I click on something it appears on the page I'm currently on now your question might be uh what if I don't want to add something to this page I'm on what do you want to add something to the former page now all you need to do is come back to your screen scroll down or scroll up click on the page you want to add something on when you come back to your graphics and click on that Graphics it will appear on the page that you want it to appear on let me delete that so to delete select and delete now that we've explored what Graphics is I'm just gonna let's just dive a bit deeper so the things Graphics gives you access to the things I'm element to give you access to its graphics and Graphics has to do with maybe things like illustration you know what illustrations is like cartoonish just cartoonish drawings or something it also gives you sometimes it gives you access to things that look like real pictures that's it for graphics for photos the photos get to give you pictures both pictures with background pictures without background it get you get to give you like pictures of what it is that you're looking for you also have the options of videos you can also include a video you know different videos of that thing or other Graphics most of what you get are illustrations of that thing that you want that you want to add that's for videos so I believe that we're all familiar with what a video is and for audio you can add an audio you can hear that scrunching sugar cone um let me just delete that you cannot audio you can also add audio to your video now guys we have explored Graphics I hope this is gradually demystifying count by in your mind now for that is that we're going to get next to the option that says uploads and just like the name says uploads are basically for uploading anything you need to upload on your design all you need to do to upload something click on this button at the top that says upload file it's going to take you to your file manager on your computer and you get to select what you want to upload I personally like to upload my brand images or the images or whatever or whatever images um I need to use on my design and you're not only limited to uploading images on cover you can also upload videos I'll upload audio also so upload whatever it is now the upload option also gives you the option to record yourself right you get to record yourself on canva I will be honest with you guys the last time I tried to use this option the video was so heavy I couldn't I couldn't do much my space is frozen so the last time I tried to use the that feature my screen for us so we're not using that feature right now we're not recording ourselves so guys after you are done with the upload feature which we just talked about next thing is text so to create any text on canva the first thing you're going to need to do is introduce what is called a text box right a text box allows you and type anything anywhere to introduce a text box all you need to do is go to the text option that you've done here you have three options the first one is to add a text add a text box just put a box that allows you edit your text and we delete that the other option you have is to come to this option that says this ID heading are they some heading you can use any of them to be honest with you what it does is just simplifies everything for example if you want to add a header and you click on add the head it already gives you like big bold text that's for a header or a title and that saves you time um that could be used in reducing the size of the text or changing things up it just minimizes your edits basically and if the text you're going to be using is small text just come to this option that says adding little body of text it also saves you time that you would be using instead to edit dance and make it you know smaller or whatever right that is what that does another option is to scroll down on the page and click on any of the text combos you have here so you come down on the page click on any of the text Combos and just use any of that any of them is going to be absolutely fine so you can come and click on this one that says boo and it you know it's just going to go on with that you know format so this what this does for you is that this saves you time that would have been used to edit text so if any of these are online what you want to do maybe this option that says stay fairness is more like what you want to use and it's fine you can use any of them you scroll down you're going to see much more combinations that you can use in here which makes it really easy now let's talk about editing the text that you have on your screen so for example I add in a title text this one that says ADI heading and let's say I make this I name this oh food menu then I feel like food menu is too round like black just black or white I want something else I want to add this my text one of the first things you need to do for any text you need to wear this is click on it clicking on it opens up opens you up to all these options at the top for example this first one allows you to change the title of the font that's the font design so the one beside it allows you to change the size that's not the only place to change the size another way you can change the size of your text is to come to any other four corners you see these parts with the circles if you've got any of the circles in there and move it see so the moment I click on that you see that my cursor changes to like this thing this Arrow so that allows me reduce it or increase it all you need to do is you drag your mouse drag your mouse outwards to increase drag your mouth inwards to reduce if I need to move my text around click on the tag with an app to move it right if I need to increase the size I need to go on to any of the corners and either drag outwards or drag no that's for size the next thing I can do is change the color and to do that I'll just click on this option the a with the color beneath that lets me change the color to any color all I need to do is either click on any of the colors here or come to this option that has the Plus in it to change the color just like I changed the color balls um just like actually the color of the pages the last time I can drag the circle on this line left or right to choose the color I want to work on and for example if I want to work on something within the orange shade I can then go to the circle inside the color to move it around until I get to the color that I want to work with now that is for changing the color now the option beside that is the is this D option and if you use Microsoft Word you already know like what the formatting options are being for bold I for italicize so I can make it bold or remove the boldness I can also italicize with I you know give it that relation a slanting if you remove it now the next option I have is the alignment option and just like it says it helps me align my text I can line my text to the left I cannot turn it to the river and centralize the alignment I got 90 to the left this works mostly with some sentences so I'm just going to make this a longer sentence just so you can see what that effect is like so I'm just going to copy and paste food menu all to two times I'm going to reduce that and I'm going to go back to that option so just click on it to change change it to different alignment types I'm also going to drag this inwards to reduce the size so click on the different alignment size centralized make it right aligned take it a Justified alignment where he just tries to fill in the Box to take it back to the left now the option decided would put a bullet point or a number so it's bullet point to numbering now the auction decided is spacing so with the spacing option I can increase the space in between my letters or increase the spacing between the lines let's explore that so the first option says native spacing and it has a line where I can drag the circle from left to right I want you to watch the screen if I drag this from left from the left to the right it increases the space in between each letter and if I drag it back reduces the space let's take it back to where it was for line spacing just like the text is um I can increase the line in the spaces in between the line or I can read this take this back to where it was so going back there there's also the option for effects and this is where a lot of the drama happens um we when you click on effect it gives you access to so many options you can um you can add Shadow to your text and you have much more options to edit your Shadow you can add what is called a lift like a background Shadow you can make it Hollow and you say Holo so I'm just gonna make this bigger so you can see what the holder looks like see that you have space in between your text and then this option that says splice is that whole no option plus plus a shadow there we have the option that says Echo so all you need to do is come here explore all the different options you have one called glitch makes your text look like a glitch neon gives the neon effect have on the background and you also have the option to change the shape curve your text for example so if I click on curl it's a curve my tag then I can from this option at the bottom if I'm moving left or right I can determine the direction or I can determine how tight I want it to be I can you know determine you know the angle of what I want I get to determine all of that with the option hold curve then by call map and click on the option that says None I can remove the option now for every single one of these options to every single one of this effect you have the option to to you know editing either intensifies and you know determine what direction you wanted to go you just need to move this inside the bottom left to right to explore now that's that for effect let's go to animate just like name says you can animate your um you can animate your um you can animate your text um cover using different options so animates you can click on Rise click on this other one that says pad click on Feed and just like the name just like the other option you have just like the other just like effect you have the option to choose how you want it okay just like the other one you have the option to determine you know to fall down you know and just like the other option you have the option to further edit this maybe what side you want the effects from from center from this to that you can determine the speed you can also determine if you wanted to write you can determine how you want it to write you want it to be character by character you want it to be one by word you want it to be line by line but to do that just the way you see that being focused on my screen you need to be on the pro version to get that kind of thing done then you have so many options I'll be honest with you just come here click on what you want in fact without even clicking just hovering see your cursor over it shows you what it's going to be like so without necessarily making that decision you get to see what it's like now we've explored all the text options text editing options let's go on to this three dots now what happens with these three does it gives you all these other options you can underline your text using this one and this option that allows you make everything under capital letter or you know the way it is you can position your text you can put your text behind something in front of something you know then you can copy the style of your text with this option that looks like a paint tool then this one that you know and honestly on allows you increase or reduce the transparency of your text all you need to do is slide this thing left right now another option I can't find music which is beautiful is that it lets you add a link to your text so for example if you want some want to click on something on your design that takes them to another page the link option Nets you do that right just click on this it allows you come and pasting pasting the names you want in this box the box with the blinking question I want you to do that anyone who clicks on the image or a little clicks on your design when you share the final version but when they click on that it takes them to another page and then the final thing is that you can lock your text now when you lock your text what happens is you cannot move it it stays now I I particularly love the lock option because it means that when I'm working on a lot of things on my page I'm not stuck like I I mean sorry I particularly love the lock option because it means that when I'm working on anything on my page I can lock it so that I don't know something maybe I have finally determined where I want something to be once I do that I lock it so that in case I'm bringing other things on the page I don't mistakenly shift it or move it or anything like that so yes guys that's all it is for the text option I'm just going to go on to delete that and the next one is your project now just like it says it allows you to view the projects you're walking you've worked on in the past and in post it here now when you click on projects one of the first things we're going to do is show you this option that says shared with you now the shared with you option is for designs that people are sharing with you you can click on it import it here and you can click on the import into your design and work on it if you don't want to share it with you you can also work on other projects you have one all you need to do is click on this box and click on your projects it will bring up your own past projects let me bring up this one that says that says a YouTube creation templates you see it is my own design and I can just bring it here and edit it what this does is that it saves you the time that you would spend having to go onto another page copying and pasting and editing something else that you worked on before if you need to work on it in another size you get so I'm just going to delete this I will go to the option that says audio and just like the name says audio Nets you add audio to your page we will not sleep on that because it's something we've explored earlier then the next options is apps what apps does is in let you use all the different apps that are connected to the cover here you've explored apps already they will not be exploring apps anymore we're not going to be exploring apps so yeah guys to be honest with you that's what you have that's what you have for the side panel the next thing we're going to be doing is looking at the top area what do you get from this top here like I will explore the sides I see what that is about how about the talk now the first thing you see at the top menu on canva is who takes you back to your home page you don't need that today so the next option is file and when you click on file it shows you it lots of different things like allows you to create a new design allows you import something shows you ruler and guidelines um that is like something a bit more advanced it can also show you your margins if you're if it's a document you are printing it can show you the bleed area for your prints and it can you can use the option that says find and replace text this is useful we are working on maybe an in-book ebook with a lot of text and you want to edit one particular um charge you don't need to start you don't need to start going there and really throw one by one you can just find the text I replace it cover also gives you the option to save but I'll be honest with you camera if your network is great canvasives on the go while you're working while you're working canvas saves up what you're doing so you don't need to start um doing that one by one um it also makes you so if you're working with a team your team is able to leave comments on your camera post so you will comment as you see comments and the next option here is version history is what they are really knows it lets you see all the different versions of your design for example if I edited something if I designed something earlier and maybe after making all my edits I don't really like the the design anymore I am and I want to go back to like a formal version of my design version is three lets you go back to all the different versions of your design that you've edited another way you can see a previous one is by clicking on maybe removing all your recent edits it's clicking control set but that doesn't really work well if you're working with different just because if I edited on this page first and I went to my other page where this it should do it in the same order by which I did so it's the first undo what is on this second page before and then it will come on to this respite and undo things so I really wouldn't enjoy that so depression issue just lets you go back to what exactly you want to do and just like the name says make a copy allows you make a copy of your design on download allows you download your design now the option resize is one option I particularly really really really knows because it means that if I'm working on Instagram post and I want to I want it to become a real I can come to this option that says resize and it helps me change the shape of this page that we're working on to either to the ship all of them so let me scroll down so you can see see you have all these other presets shapes so I can change it to the the dimensions one infographic I can change it to the dimensions where you're real it's not showing me real right here let me see if it does that okay so allowing me to do real but if I knew not the real Dimensions I can come to this option that says custom size I change it to the dimensions for a real now this is a canva pro option or it's some it's another reason why you might want to explore using Camera Pro because it makes your life really really really easy now um you click on that option that says any of the any of the options that applies maybe you want to you know also want this you're designed to be in a real for example if I come to this option let's say this option or you want it to be a video Dimension you can call me a click on that you know that's what that lets you do and this one this the side that we have the arrow in um the the arrow that is facing to your left that is basically to undo something that you've just done let me click on that and it's just it's just you see what it's bringing back this design I had deleted and then the option beside it is redo if I click on redo it's going to redo is going to you know on do what I've the most recent change is going to bring back something that the last version of what I did now this cloud with the ticket just showing me that you know mine doesn't have been saved now going to the left hand side this thing this part has the slash for me is usually where you put in the name or Be Your Design now and if I click on that a box is going to appear and I can change that to convert tutorial designs that's it guys you get to choose the name of your design now just beside it canva is telling me to upgrade to Pro and beside it I have my name the option to have my name it has my name if someone else is also working on this design at the same time it would usually show me the name person so usually show me an iPhone advice somebody is actively viewing Your Design while you're designing you get to see that so those of you can work on one design at the same time now just beside that I have something that shows me I have the option called insights insights basically let you know the thoughts um gives you analytics or information on your post in that you know your design rather unless you know how many people have used it if you want the option if you want the engagement option you can click on engagements here and it just lets you know so you can click on engagement and engagement lets you know um who is engaging with your post and how they're engaging with you and who has engaged with your post unique links that you know you know it links is also like gives you information on unique people that have you know clicked on the link and social media gives you social media insights so we're going to need to be on the pro version to be able to explore all these options but I'm just showing it to you you just let you know what is possible so I'm just showing you all the subjects that you know what is possible now after all of that the next option is share now share gives you the option to share the design with anyone also download Your Design I'm just going to move this to make things easier for us so share gives you the option to share your design like with this course or download it now the first option here lets you share your design with you know someone through their email address or if it's a team member you already have you can share it with the person all you need to do is put their name in here and it will show you who the parent it will show you the person if you're already at person I have someone here on my team so it's giving me that option now that is that and um that is that for that option next option we have here is to share a link now you there are different ways you can share a link on canva you can share a link that's all you can tell someone can only view your designs you've got also share a link so that's all you can come in and edit if you restrict it so that they can only view they would only be able to view it so I can say foreign to do that right and that is that for sure for like the sharing option now for the link part of things I feel like I'm not explaining that index let me just explain that to you so when you click on only you connect and when you click on this option for the link you have the option to click on only you can access which is what it is now it means the only person can access now if you want to be able to share with someone you have to take all your actual assets anyone with the link and then on the side it's going to give you an option to say what time the person do and the person do if you want the person to only need to be you take on computer the only person will only be able to comment you click on can comment and when the person to only be empty updates you click on can edit so any of them that works for you is what you should click on now the other options you have here are the options to schedule the post and we can't even notice the trend when something has like the gold circle with the crown on it the crown icon it's a it's a pro it's a canva pro version It's a Chromebook Camera Pro feature so so just means you guys should do your post basically now the template link means you can share your post as a template so this is for you if you're someone who makes money wants to make money through camera you can share the template with someone you can share a template link with someone what that does is that they can edit the design without any changes to your original design so with that when it's all by the template all you need to do is share a template link with them and all of the designs will open up in cover and they can make their own edits but that will not affect your original design so if you're someone who is looking to sell template standards for you the next option is to present you can present Your Design like a slide on your screen and then you should this is this last one is just a shortcut to a link if you click on this it will give you a link for someone to own measure your designs so that's great if you're working with clients now the other option we have on the page is to download your design and I need you to like camera give you a lot of options a lot of versions and types and file types to download your design in you can download Your Design as a PNG which is the first option you have here if you click on that for that you can see that you can also download Your Design as jpg as a PDF for printing you can download it as a PDF for emailing you can download it on SVG now scannable Vector graphic that is the design also yes Photoshop and go understand that you can download it as a video MP4 icon download it as a gif you know those shots gifs you know you can download your video as a gif now depending on which option you picked you have the option to download all the pages or you have the option to download a specific page all you need to do is come to this option that says select Pages click on the box here and you can either click on all pages or you can comment specifically click on the page that you want to download once you're done click on the option that says done and click on download and you are done as is it now the other option it gives you is to share on social media and let you know which platform form you need to show it on now we'll go back the other option there is to print your design um I think canva works with certain platforms to go on and print your design like this print on demand things um yep and if you click on and this print on design things and if you click on more option more it gives you a lot of other ways you can share your design so many other ways it's exhaustive um share as a template like we said you can present and record you can present you can copy it you can create a QR code so you can see you can save the folder you can send to a phone I'll implore that you come here and just you know explore all of this include all of these options to show your design and that's it so now that we have explored all the menus on on canva I'm going to delete this um to delete something on canva to need a page because this is what we call a page everything you work on is called every new page it's called the page it is all you need to do is come to the top of the page you have this option that looks like it looks like trash just click on that icon that looks like trash and you donate the page you know we can do that for this next one click on this and you delete your page and to add a new page like we said the last time come to this option that says add page and you add a new page but I've met us edit a template together let's come to this option let's let's go back to the option on the left that says design let's click on that and let's do something for a birthday I'm going to go to the search bar and click on the word bursting and it gives me so many templates that we've already discussed how to use the templates I all I need to do is click on it and the template appears the exact way it is it just appears right so let's use this happy birthday template right and let's just make our edits so I like these templates but my color is pink room we need like the background color I want something else all I need to do is come here click on that background when you click on something it's going to have like a purple line around like the purple highlights and then I'll come to this area with the color and I'm going to click on the color I want now let's pick a different pink because the search bar no not search let's click on this plus so messy if I forget like it pastel pink I was like this thing until it gives me the kind of pink I'm looking for then I'm going to move my cursor I think I like this this like dog or Leslie that so now I like my background now we selected a background next thing is the image I don't like this image I want the different image so let's click on that image right and let's us edit it now let's do it so edit your image I can either come to elements here maybe I want a an image of a black girl let's look for some let's look for black girl let's go to photos I have two options I can't do two options to edit my image I can drag this black girl onto and drag it around that thing until it appears and then I'll release it so let's do that again I took my girl I dragged it around until it looks like it appeared on the background on the shrimp that I wanted it to appear on and then I left it let's say I want to use another black girl do the same thing drag it appears leave it but that is perfect another thing I can do is rather than drug I can click on the image and then after I click on it move it around move it to that the same way I moved the last one another option for changing your image would be to click on that what's the option that says edit image no this image is not meant to me so those are the two ways you can change your image so if you're drunk or you could click on it then move it in there um so we have changed our image that's why I want to edit this image I want to give you some special effects all we need to do is click on that then come here to click on this option and save edit image and we can adjust it adjust the look of the image as the first option we can add a filter to the image we can use this tool that's called Chase retouch to retouch image we can add this image to a Smart mock-up and then we can also use any your case options here maybe this filters is one of these color mixes you can use any of these other tools to make changes to alter our manipulator image basically so that's it now for example this text say I don't like the font I want to change the font all I need to do is come here click on the text confidence option with the text name and voila and parva gives me all these options for tabs so let's say I prefer this exercise called tan Pearl all I need to do is click on it my text will change to that one now if you notice the text is on the image and so let me see it's clearly I can choose to move this thing I can choose to move this image by tweaking on it and dragging it in whatever Direction I want another option is to change the color of my fonts come here click on the font I want to change the color or come to this option on the top the a will line underneath the next let me change the color and I can change it to whatever I want brown light brown or whatever and I can see that with the light brown gives me the option on to gives me the option I can see my text on the image so I feel better with that right so just like you've edited that if I did anything else I don't like this flower I can't either delete it so make it my style or I could change the flower to change it I would most like to just need to go to elements click on flower go to graphics and choose a flower that is more of my style I appreciate this pink one this one is more of my style then put it here right to explore any of these things here now the beauty of one beauty of canva is that if you click on something that you like just beneath it it's going to give you text it's going to show you other things that look similar to what you are editing it's called Magic recommendation so when I come to this option that says see all it's going to show me a lot of other things that's similar to that thing that I like this is really great if you are looking for a certain style and maybe I just want flowers that look like this type of flowers now let's try this with the other flowers on the page um I'm going to take on this flower okay you see it gives me magic recommendations and my recommendation gives me other flowers that look like that flower style different colors and all those kind of things let's just delete that one but just like that anything on on the on the templates that you don't like you can simply click on it you need to add something else you know for example this is tape if I want the tape I can delete it I will look at it if I don't like the tape if I don't want tape at all I can listen just to make it my own the thing we cover is you all you need to do is do all you can all you need to do when it comes to templates is find ways to make it your own so guys that's that's it we can anything you need to is there anything you need to work on all you need to do is delete put it back or permit it what you want it to be and to move stuff around you drag and if you maybe um so for example if I wanted to put this text behind this image instead of in front of it this is where my position option will come in all I need to do is click on that option that says happy birthday for example click on position this option that says position then excuse me select where I want it to be now it gives me the option that says backwards if I click on it it goes one layer backwards so um let's say an element is a layer so if there is one image it's in there so when I click barcode once it take is backward one layer backwards for example so you see that it is now behind the image now if I click on backward again you see what's going to happen it's going to go behind the next element which in this case is that page per thing you see and now you can see that the option that is backwards is no longer available so if I want to push it back forward all I need to do is click on this option that says forward and if I want to put it in front of the image you can click on the option that says forward that's it guys that is it it has been moved so um that's it guys it's pretty much straightforward you see that camera is not as complex let's try to edit something again let's let's make this a social media post um so let's see let's put in the word sales let's put in the word sales let's across something we can date here that's a pro that's a proofing we're going to go into a conversation of whether it is worth it to invest in pro version and maybe how to get like um get it so we're still going to conversational letter or not the pro version is worth it oh yeah well let's just look for something that we could use right now so let's click on this one still should do something in the proof and the pro side of things I see this one oh okay that's not true so we wait for it to load and this is it so this is this is a template you can easily use for your business you know and one of the things I like to do is I like to take things and make them into what they are not so this one says online sales hack or me for example I would use this to tell people how to get the best out of the sales of my business I would just change switch up the words I could use it for a tutorial I'll just switch up this this graphic size here and make it something that is more related to my business so I'll change these Graphics to a picture of my a picture of my product and I'll change the I'll remove the background um another thing I could do is change up the color if I I don't like that color click on it see if I can change the color and the fact that I can see blue here shows me that I can change this color so I can change it to Orange whatever I need it to be changing to Brown bring back to Blue you know whatever my brown color is I can change it to that you know like apparently I can change all these other circles I can change this icon you know change it to whatever I need it to be for my business and we try I have created content startup that's it my content is done look I just explore you know you want to create a sales contents this can this can be a sales post or whatever you need it to be you can make it a tutorial you can make it an announcement you can make it the graphics for whatever you need it to be you can enjoy canva using those templates without necessarily building from the scratch I'll be honest with you just add and remove one of my very special tips and tricks is to combine two templates so I would have for example let me open a new page let me add in a new one so I I like to ask myself okay what do I like about this one and what do I not like about this one you know I haven't said okay I prefer this background I would use this background and put the text remove this Mega sales text you know and instead putting this text there let me move that for example just put it in here but I don't want that if I want to move all the text all I need to do is say nato I would put my console at the part of the screen that will allow me capture everything and I'll move it outwards so that it lets me select them remember when something is selected you will see the purple lights around it and then I'll release my cursor then press Ctrl C and then paste it on the new page and you can see the text has been pasted right it has been pasted on the new page now if I don't want this now what happens after you paste on a new page is that the moment it gets on the new page it is to go to separate and be one by one so all you need to do is all you need to do is when you select all the options come to this side of the screen the wall with the three dots and click on the option that says group what group does this it makes it one thing one element rather than different texts and then when you click on copy and you paste it on the new page it pastes one when you move it around it moves at one and the option to all Brew if you want to edit it right so don't be afraid so I usually like to combine two things what do I like about this what do I like about that how can I make it one design so those are some of the ways you can be you can be as expressive or you can be creative on canva you don't need to beat from the scratch to be creative to be honest with you especially if this is just a means to one and it means to create graphics on your page you're not trying to be a designer you don't need to build from scratch combine two things use it for what it needed to change it into your brand colors and guys you are good in terms of I don't like the design on maybe Instagram posts I will open a new tab and that new tab is going to be presentations and I was still an idea for my designs from presentation or I'll change the dimension go to size change the dimensional presentation into into an Instagram post size or Square size and that's it guys I have what I need and that's that is it that is canva demystified that is kind of uh simplified I hope you don't see that color is not that hard the beauty of canva is the more you use it the more you know how to use it the more you use it the more you know how to use it if you repeat that to yourself um you would realize you realize that combat is really simple now to um just before we get to a close um our first like to give you a few tips and tricks to help you utilize canva better um this is just you know elevate your content and take it to the next level um and I'm just gonna give you a few tips three or four you know because this is this is totally unplanned I just felt you know what let's just let's just add this so one of the tips I would like to give you is if you want to enjoy if you want to design better one of the first things you need to learn is the design principles and if you go to the land with canva option which will explode at the beginning there are going to be videos that will give you information on all the basic principles of design just knowing those designs without even doing it professionally will help you elevate your content and even you use the templates better you know understanding how to use colors understanding how to arrange your funds understanding how to mix and match your point will go in very very long way that's number one tip number two tip on using camera is if you're if you feel like one design doesn't work for you then combine two templates take one from this take another one from that but be careful not to waste too much time on that because eventually you need to remember that karma is a means to an end for your business it is not the beola and all you're not trying to be a designer you're not you're just trying to use canva you know even as a social media manager even as a YouTuber even though as a canva educator you need to remember you are not a graphics designer you are conversing means to an end you're trying to communicate with designs right that's the second tip I have for you um on canva the third tip is to use all that you have available on camera and one of those things is um is the one I'm going to show you now a ruler any guideline so I'm just going to try to move this text to tricks and it's going to show you I'm going to show you something now let's move jealous now when I try to move this text um Do You observe that there's something like a red line that right now the red line is in the middle right now the line is still at the center of a horizontal and when I move the text upwards and downwards you are going to see that it changes now these are guideline rulers they basically help you with positioning your attack now for example if my text is perfectly in the center you will see that line in the center that shows me that my text is perfectly Unlimited in the center and if I'm looking to put in the center it is in the center now if I move it around you see the box that box is basically like a border around the main box and showing me that oh keeping it within that box makes it look orderly do you understand and um when my box is perfectly at the center of this the shape the the center of the page you see that there's both a horizontal and a vertical line this tells me that if you're aiming for the center this is what the center is and you know as I go along it just shows me different different guidelines so this box um shows me that oh this this lines I can see shows me that my text is vertically aligned to the center and it is within like a border box and that if I'm aiming to keep it within that then this is how I want to keep it you know just helps you with aligning your text because arrange your text right when it comes to Graphics we make all of the difference all of the different all of the different you know yeah and those are the tips I have for you I'm definitely going to create a special tips and tricks videos because I can't exhaust all of them in this video and I really really don't want to overwhelm you right so um no I wanted to explore explore the pro version like why should you use I mean is this should you use the canva pro version is it for you is it not for you your business benefit from it now to be honest with you guys if you can afford to get the pro version I always recommend that you get the pro version especially if you're using canva for your business and here's why the pro version is less limiting you have more access to more options more designs more templates you can put in your brand kit you can resize easily I'm showing that along the way you saw like in list of all the different things you can do if you use the pro version however on the free version you do not have access to that right and sometimes it can be really limiting because you're going to spend more time searching for something that is free and that you can use rather than just designing which is what you need to do because like I said design is just a means to an end so if you can afford the pro version I highly recommend that you do and even if you feel you cannot afford it I think it's one of those Investments you might want to make in your business that would go a long way you can't spend all of your time you know using the free version on this account and then removing your card on a new account that removes in your card I drew that sometimes I used to do it at times one actually um I mean actually if you're someone who who um who's just starting out you might do that sometimes but it's not sustainable for your business you understand so it's one of those Investments that I would recommend if you can but if you're just starting out and you're just exploring I mean by all means explode the free version do what you can while you can but the moment you can afford the pro and canva is and if cover is like something that is a huge part of your business I would highly recommend it advice that you just go for the pro version it's something I would I would really recommend in limiting you less you waste less time that's the truth and if we're going for the money we're looking to make more money then it's one of those Investments you invest money to make money you understand so that's one of those things you can't do if your bootstrapped you can look for one or two friends see if you guys can invest in like the team together and work as a team and you know use canva together show your subscription fees that's the only tip I have when it comes to when it comes to using that feature but generally what I'm going to say is if you can afford the pro get the pro it's it's it's it's a good investment for your business you can't how long do you keep on easier free for your business is a long-term thing you see yourself using them you have to improved version and that comes to the end of our canva tutorial I
