would you look at that just look at it you better because it's never going to look like that again brand new 2022 200r we've been waiting for this bike for like two or three months it finally came in bone stock hadn't done a thing to it except for obviously the pipe guard we threw it on real quick we didn't want to smash it first ride but we're gonna do a quick ride review of it today compare it a little bit with the 21-300 just a little bit we're going to answer the main question everybody wants to know you know does this bike have enough bottom in to be a legit you know race bike or for a heavier rider we got a 200 pound rider today and 140 pound rider so we're going to definitely find that out you know and how light and flickable is it you know so i'll step back here there is the 21 beta so you can see the difference in them they went with a little a little bit more red look this year they even have a red number plate instead of white so it does look good you know the red fork guards and all that so that's one of the main differences a little bit more red uh fork tubes you see the 21s were black the 22s are more like your kyb showa you know uh finish to them last year they came with michelin's this year maxis so we're gonna get on this thing and see if it can lug up hills not as good as the 300 but close enough obviously do some lap times see how well it starts is the suspension still amazing you know all that good stuff but the main thing we're going to answer today is you know is this a legit race bike for a heavier guy you know is it actually lighter more flickable in the tight woods so let's get on these things and find out over a few little logs there i just got off the 300. 200 and i can tell a huge difference you know the 200 is just not as [Music] overwhelming as the 300 in the power department i mean it's got power it's fine but that 300 of course can get away from you this little 200 you can feel the difference man it is lighter it's a smaller little bike nimble uh let's hit some more logs and stuff with it and try it in this tiger woods oh yeah i love thirds what it does yeah there's just an ever so slight difference in power this bike you're not gonna be able to put it in turn gear and forget it you know you're definitely gonna have to shift set this suspension is still amazing i feel like a toy compared to the four strokes no comparison at all so suspension is amazing it does feel a lot lighter than even the 300 but no comparison to the four strokes like i said uh power still that beta smooth power uh definitely more controllable though not like i said not near as intimidating as the 300 the three all right a very important part about an xc bike to us xc racing guys hair scramble guys is you know how fast can a bike start and can it start in gear so we're going to try to start this thing in gear and let's see how it does all right well i'd say that was pretty damn quick started with it in first gear and the little 200 got enough power to raise up even with me on it so that was pretty good let's try it one more time just make sure it wasn't a fluke [Music] no button fluke starts instantly just like i figured so you got nothing to worry about there as you can see in front of me dry old creek bed this is where we test our suspension you know just see how good it is for off-road use is it going to deflect me beat me to death whatever you know we've ran over logs on this bike already it's done amazing so let's see what it does through the [Music] rocks oh well i say it did pretty good no crazy deflections went right through it no problems at all all right here's where we're going to compare the 300 and the 200 as far as like lug ability you know does the 200 have enough torque obviously it ain't got the same amount of torque as a 300 but straight ahead really steep hill about 150 feet super steep i know you can't tell them video i'll kind of look to the side maybe see how this bowl i mean it's it's steeper than it looks on video so we're just going to try to hit this slow in second gear and see what the 300 does and then see if the 200 can you know kind of come close to doing the same so let's see what it's got all right so no problem on the 300. we're back over here at the steep hill we ran this on the 300 rr in second gear try to just lug it up the hill 300 had zero issues with it so let's see with a 200 pound fat boy on it if this little 200 can do it in second gear [Music] there you go folks there's a difference in the 200 and the 300 the 300 did it zero issue no clutching i was trying to actually hold it back so it wouldn't gain speed up the hill the 200 did lose a little bit of momentum and i had to clutch at that one time so what i'm finding too as i'm riding is it seems like uh i just have to do everything basically a gear lower on the 200 from the 300 but does this 200 have plenty of grunt to haul around a 200 pound guy and do whatever you want to do absolutely you know you just gotta ride it a little bit more you can't be near as lazy on this bike as you as you can be on the 300 but i mean so far would i would i use this as a race bike without a doubt it's a little bit smaller it's a little bit more nimble it's really peppy got plenty of speed but it's a controllable speed to where the 300 can definitely get away from you but also at the same time 300 you can be lazy on it and it'll bail you out so there's that too but you know to answer the question does the 200 have enough torque down low to do what you need to do absolutely 100 yes all right quick recap after the ride does the 200 have enough power down low absolutely does it have the power and the same lug ability as the 300 no it shouldn't and it doesn't i found today riding that i was like basically a gear lower on this thing compared to the 300 uh but that was about it i mean it's plenty powerful got plenty of speed it's a good bike for you know any level uh i wouldn't say it's a good beginner's bike i mean it's it's pretty peppy i wouldn't put a beginner on it for sure um but it it can lug it can pull you know my fat butt up any hill it did everything great today it was lighter and a little more flickable you know through the woods than the the 300 we did some lap time testing in the lap times we're literally within a second or two of each other every time so in the tight woods it's it's just it's a great bike you know just a tad bit quicker through the tight stuff than the 300 uh but all in all it's pretty neck and neck man it's it's just all in you know what you want but uh great bike suspension's still great love the the the uh sax forks on these things they they get a lot of hate i love them uh yet again we're leaving the oil injection on this bike love that love not having to mix it uh for those of you that don't know you're new you know obviously this is an electric start bike the betas do have a no tool required air box cover right there where it says pull you just pull that comes right off there's your your air filter uh exactly like the ktm uh that's it all in all beta 200 rr is definitely a bike anybody any size can ride any skill level it's not a beginner's little weak bike it's a it's a full little race machine you know and the tighter stuff i'll take it over at 300 you know it is a noticeable difference in the size not a crazy noticeable difference but i mean it is noticeable you can feel the weight difference and the power is uh it's not as linear as the 300 but but it is still really smooth that beta smooth and it's a lot more controllable power you know it won't get away from you so another great bike from beta 22s look better in my opinion and uh that's about it can't think anything else
