i gotta put on some more starter running a six twenty four six we'll sink colby my tender guys here [Music] so [Music] i'm running a micronutrient package that goes on the starter [Music] uh [Music] farm a lot of a lot of stuff been going on people been knocking down corn stalks and no-till on this side i kind of wish i had uh stripped till last fall because everybody that's until last fall has plenty of moisture to work with this spring but how do you know most years ago you wanted worked in the fall because we're too wet definitely a different year this year that's for sure well 2021 corn last pass and from here to there wrap her up i don't know i planted all the peat so hopefully it don't freeze off but got her done the first time anyway we gotta uh got a bearing that's a little weak on the planter i gotta replace in the morning and then we'll switch over and go to beans get the beans done folder up go to remote valves go to fold raise the planter hold the wings now it's always good to be done planting corn beans seem like it's so much easier less filling less starter no starter just fill her up and plant which is kind of nice they fold together and then those little hook deals there catch the raise that up then you go back to raise the center section and then there is the back of the planter and then raise the wing wheels and then pull the wings back in together and then uh you gotta go out and put the stop in safety stop in case the hose break it doesn't down on the road that'd be a bad deal now you can see i had it in the wrong spot the other day i had to bend it heat it and bend it [Music] yeah good morning i got a lot going on today planting beans colby and calvin are spraying some beans that we got planted yesterday and i'm going to plant one more 160 acres and then i'm going to get in the sprayer while calvin runs a land roller over it so yeah a lot going on today putting on dinosaur bones more fuel well we're being planned today i didn't get the first couple days of bean planting first day was a slow day slow start uh yesterday we had a really good day we got 400 acres in i'm planting 153 acre field today just got all the end rows done outlined we got good running now so we got kobe tendering kelvin who is spraying my pre-pre uh chemical and then when i get done with this i'll uh i'll take over the sprayer and kelvin's gonna land roll the land roll that uh knock all the little rocks down and all the dirt clumps corn drip balls but as you can see it's this was worked last night it's already getting dusty putting the beans in about an inch and a half deep i just don't dare go any deeper than that but we got to go that deep to get him into moisture just a slight chance of eating on sunday other than that the 10-day forecast is dry again we just cannot buy a rain well i guess we'll keep throwing them in the ground see what happens yeah what are the odds right in the middle of the tracker just never planned them out for the planner with do they always got to go around something i love the intakes well for people that don't know this is what a land roller is big steel drums this is a 60-footer there's three of us together own this together so we all share it it works out pretty good one guy's done already with it we're gonna roll what we got planted and then it goes to the third guy and he'll finish up rolling tomorrow and then we'll get it back to finish up everybody puts it on all three of us have quad tracks we put it on there and then you just run auto steer it works great you don't have to worry about driving on roads or anything just drive how to steer it works good you got a little bit overkill on the horsepower but you can never have there's no substitute for horsepower well i'm uh doing this running a sprayer now calvin's in the roller we're putting our pre-chemical on our pre-emergence chemical it isn't pre-uh plant because i've already planted it but it's the pre-pre-emergence it's for grass and broad leaf control spraying about 11 mile an hour 15 gallons cover a lot of acres we've got this field and then that 300 acres over by the lake mills and we'll have everything sprayed that's uh planted that'll be good well we just need a rain know i keep asking for rain but we really do need one i'd have to say this is probably one of my favorite jobs is uh pre-chemical pre-emergence spraying because you don't have to worry about driving on a road or not on the road you just drive auto steer cover a lot of ground short i time bad news from home my tank went empty the hose didn't keep up with it been spraying too hard i guess so i guess spray this out we're gonna have to wait a little bit sounds like the wife is bringing supper though so that'll fill in the time that'll be good i don't know if you've ever been out spraying waiting on your water wagon and i have a helicopter coming in on you my neighbor who's gonna be a crop duster this year he's gonna spray my corn he's buzzing me hope you can see him or not [Music] future crab joster right there [Music] [Music] that's uh my kind of entertainment in the field while you're waiting for water still spraying just about got this field done though getting there and calvin's got 400 acres to roll yet tonight so he's gonna have a late one i gotta get the planter all set up and get some more seed in the tender for tomorrow we're gonna have both diggers going excuse me field gullivators slash diggers see if we can't get another 400 acres of beans in before the rain on sunday but one one day at a time see what happens well we got big goals today we got 400 acres to do rain coming in tomorrow at one o'clock in the afternoon i got uh even my dad 87 years old is coming out there on the small digger this morning so we can get that we gotta work the dirt kobe's gonna pick the rocks and we gotta plant it and we gotta spray it and then we gotta roll it so we gotta go over 400 acres four times by one o'clock tomorrow so that's the plan for today i'll keep you and keep you informed on how it's going oh here comes my dad 87 years old ready to work the digger kind of fun having him out here my dad comes to work with about none fuel in this pickup farthest feel the way we got from town and he comes out here with the almost negative fuel in it oh good grief waiting got the two diggers going waiting for them to finish up this 76 acres so i can get started i should just about have her done and it's got the end rose to do i think and it'll be time to turn and burn must be time to plant beans the wind's blowing like 50 miles an hour but i remember back in the old days it wasn't used to have all this paper sacks it was always blowing and then you'd go to burn them and catch the ditch on fire and then you're running around trying to put the fire out good old days oh here comes my dad getting her done take out the post gonna be pretty close yep gonna hit her i'm gonna hit her that was close that was good driving dad filled up again good for another 100 acres so windy oh i can't if i want to break the lids off the hoppers today though man it's windy too we need a video outside that's for sure [Music] well it's uh 12 20 and we've got just over 100 acres planted it's going a little slower than what i thought we got exactly 24 hours now until the rain comes those guys have got another field about half work so they're they'll easily make it by four dark over there but it's too windy to spray right now so it's all gonna probably get shoved into tomorrow morning well a little update had one row unit giving me fifths we lost about i suppose about an hour figuring that out it was the drive for some reason the drive was slipping on the cable drive called the ordered new parts had to put in the drop box in the meantime we took it apart a couple times put it back together and now it's running but kelvin went to get the new parts just in case these do quit we're at 200 and uh about 240 acres out of the 400 so we're moving along we got the 400 worked 240 planted we still gotta spray it all and roll it so we are not into the finish line yet a little update on how we're doing on our 1600 acre run here well we got the 400 of it done we got worked grounds all worked we're down to 37 acres left of the 400 to plant then we got a spray the 400 and then roll the 400 so we've got about eight hundred and uh thirty acres that we have to do yet this morning before uh the rain comes in at one two o'clock this afternoon so that's the skinny for this morning it's about five o'clock i just couldn't finish last night i got too tired got up at four got down here 4 30. i'll try and wrap up the planting on this field anyway i'm rolling today got the planting all done on the 400 acres that we were trying to get done got kelvin spraying i'm running the roller doing 67 acres an hour 14.7 gallons an hour of fuel but that's uh two two-tenths of a gallon per acre that's not too bad i really like to roll our beans after we plant that way we knock down all the little rocks and dirt clumps that are hard on the sickle sections on the bean head it's pretty fast job kind of fun pretty stress-free well let's see if we get her down we got rain coming in between two and five we just uh won't be alone kel want to be done spraying the first 160 so i gotta get her going get caught up with him now we got the first 160 done working on the 240 now going to all the windmills in fact we got a road right here we got a cross slow down it's so rough slow down so don't break the roller so i think we might make it the way the weather's looking i think the rain is going to hold off we'll get all 400 acres work planted sprayed and rolled and hopefully get a little rain and have a day off tomorrow and finish up the 180 at home there 190 at home this week tuesday wednesday maybe see what happens well we made it we got it the 400 acres all taken care of worked planted sprayed and this is my last little bit of rolling right here we did it we'll see how much rain we get before we go to our last farm and 196 acres there but i think we'll take this home and see what the rain does before we do any more
