- the [Music] [Music] [Music] 17 corners three and a quarter miles if that's not difficult enough with the rise and fall of vir adding a bit of inclement weather that doesn't seem to be able to make its mind at what it wants to do and the challenge is just times by about 10 hello everybody and welcome along to our sound and vision coverage as we go live across the world from beautiful vir Virginia International Raceway where this circuit carved out of the local countryside is bring challenging drivers from all around the world since 1957 thank goodness it came back to life after we know almost lost it in the 70s and since 2000 the infrastructure has been improved there's been investment and there's been a lot of love and care invested in this particular three and a quarter miles and indeed the estate that it sits on it's like going racing in somebody's Country Park it's absolutely beautiful and we've got a full field of cars for the Michelin Pilot Challenge which this weekend is the Virginia is for lovers Grand Prix Jeremy Shaw is alongside me at the Virginia is for lovers Grand Prix for briefly global yes I forgot about the word Racing and that's entirely entirely appropriate given what the ownership group have done here down through the last couple of decades its improvement upon improvement and the whole experience not just the racetrack here the racetracks always been great but everything around it has just been added to and added to every year we've been coming in yeah a brilliant place to go racing a great atmosphere here just it's it's picture perfect right now you know the Sun isn't out but there's just there's certainly some the prospect of maybe some drizzle later in the afternoon I was just looking at the weather forecast a few minutes ago look the radar shows that there might be some pretty precipitation toward the end of the race we should be about par for the aim Submission pilot challenge because the the closest ages are always super exciting and Jeremy we mentioned there was no qualifying yesterday because of bad weather so championship positions means that the number 37 the Audi which leads the championship is on pole position its closest competitor will start alongside it and then everyone else lines up in championship positions back to to TCR but Adam has some drama for us before we've even got to the green flag the engine light is on on car number 17 now this is a TCR car that has run several different drivers this year it's Julien van der wat and Gaby Chavez sharing the car this weekend there was a light that was flashing on the dashboard when he was out on the track they think something might be loose with in the engine compartment but this car will not see the green flag out on the racetrack they're trying to get him to push the brake to make sure and rev the engine to make sure that everything is where it should be and hopefully get him out that's a shame because cut Gaby Chavez has taken the front wheel drive TCR as if he'd been doing it for the whole of his quite illustrious career not an easy thing to get your head around but he was quickest in one of the sessions earlier he was his first session he was fastest of all absolutely amazing job that that Gary Shaw is still a junior wonderf and Irwin he's no slouch either youngster African who's potentially got a big future ahead of him as well I am sorry to you if you'd like to get into this at the booth let's see if we can take a deep breath now because it's good to get very exciting very quickly car barn OD from bitter world BMW from Motorsports in action McLaren Park Place Motorsports bright yellow Allen Brynjolfsson driven at Porsche Kim and then Murillo racing with Jeff Moore Singh in the first of the mgs Riley Motorsports sitting alongside him then corporate sports with the fantastic Ford Mustang rebel rock racing Frank appear will start the Chevrolet Camaro ice front to the start like the miss gt-r safety car here at vir has the lights out it accelerates now using the advantage of its four-wheel drive to pull into the pit lane and the field is under the control of championship leader Tyler McQuarrie the car barn number 39 car or lovely double white line up everybody's heart rate will be rising now that's a great flag and we are racing 20 minutes allenge which is the Virginia is for racing lovers Grand Prix and the pole sitter gets the first part of the job turn into the horseshoe turns one and two looks like the motorsport an action McLaren drops in the 30s it was so the front row first second then Motorsports in action then the first of the EMGs that's Jeff Moore Singh getting a different I did a decent start and moving up a position from his starting place he's up in the fourth just ahead of the brightly-colored almost pink Mustang sits there then bring the option you can't miss that vodka as it is saw yellow and I mean saw yellow he's just dropped off the leading five for the moment whew everybody's got foot through the first couple of corners we're just hearing that that ticks er car has gone behind the wall Jeremy so that's bad news for those guys come by any look but we've got a clean start and we are racing two hours on the clock already doubt the one hour and 59 minutes yeah I did that's a great shame for that pair because they were super excited about having their first taste of the car yesterday there's that McLaren of acuña whip they move it up in the early stages caliber 75 it's Paul Holton who's actually taking the starting duties here today and that car is super faster should have won really the last round at world America cooter Witt was driving the final stood there and as he was celebrating to go across the finish line hit the button to to get up to the radio to celebrate with his crew unfortunately wasn't the radio but it was a bit late speed limiter the car suddenly slowed up and there goes Frank Frank de PUE and Robin Liddell to take the win extraordinary finish to a race where the driver all of these find a lot my think finished up sixth or seventh exactly yeah an extraordinary a still worth sticking with this one to the end wherever you are at sound and vision thanks again to our colleagues up in Charlotte and NASCAR TV production team who once again providing us with outstanding pictures and making the technology work to link from Charlotte back down to here at the circuit saw Macquarie in the carpark car pulling away the bars are further down the field let's bring the option getting a wiggle on but he's got wider turn three the old NASCAR Bend sawn in because so many big names have stopped cars found the fence there some years ago so britannians Ville took forever any Austin just trying to get through that on Jeff causing he's dropped back from that good start so it's Macquarie for Audi chips cliff the Boomer world BMW number 82 then colleague Fergus for the McLaren number 69 for motorsport in action Ford Mustang Nick Stacy that brightly colored 60 cart then Geoff Morty back down to fifth in TC are the two Hyundai Veloster 's 1st and 2nd 21 from 98 that's how he got second from mark Wilkins then Brian Henderson in the Honda Civic TC art of an 84 that is the allantois speed 4x car isn't in the third position you put a great sorrow from hiragana car number 21 they're all bottled up that behind Vince bar letter in that GS class turn the most what BMW but a great shot by Aaron got psycho he and Mason Felipe's scored their first win last time out at Road America it was a great result for them they worked super hard for that BMWs got to pull away a little bit on the straights but he's gonna be eaten up I think in the corners and it said the 200s at the front there with that Atlanta speed works Honda in third place right with them yeah the Atlanta speed works very much in Michigan colors which always throws me out the blue and the yellow I was thinking that should be a different color that car the two hunters Jeremy the velocities starting to find their form now with reliability to go with the speed that we saw at the early part of the season Bryan Herta author sports being developing that car with Hyundai in customer motorsport and I think we've seen some of those out in Europe as well they share very similar underpinnings and the same underpinnings is the i30 end that Brian's team were running and he didn't want a championship with here in the States last year but that car is available as a street car in the States whereas the velociter n es so end of last season of the wind they're quite a big undertaking to effectively read body the platform or at least three shell them to give them they've Veloster look and already a little bit of damage on the left front of the number 98 car which has gone to the laid there in TCR ahead of its teammate so the 98 is the blue car the 21 is the black car and they're still trying to fight their way past it's the back of the field in gs which includes I've been piloting a car the Rob fer realz in the Audi r8 number 18 as well just ahead of them when there's an Audi leading as well at the front of the field that is the dark gray and green number 39 in the hands of Tyler McQuarrie who has James player Korey Fergus and Nate Stacey battling between themselves for 2nd 3rd and 4th position might just allow that car barn Audi to pull away a little bit a great start there by Nate States in number 64 from 7th on the grid to 4th position in the early laps and he had sheet set the fastest lap last time around 150 4.1 so look at that was lit then let the old lap record was the 150 5.16 to the old qualifying that record from last year was a 154 point one seven five which has already beat beat on the first lap at the race first line lap of the race by eight Stacy in fourth position a big mover though at the beginning of this raises a keel Rabindra the Indian from where was he on the grid 21st up inside the top as well or in drink that hose up into the top five now the number 46 mercedes-amg so he's made up some positions as well after he needed six or seven on the first lap and a half so he's doing really well was the leader for a moment no it's the 93 that has gone of the Audi of mark Segal and he's gone off heavily and hit the he hasn't even managed to hit the tyre wall he's hit the concrete barriers and his off at drivers right just going up to the top of the aces he looked all right to turn seven it's got the car into reverse think he's trying to get it out of harm's way is he gonna try and win it back on the track yes he is there's some bodywork damage and maybe some suspension damage there so going up the esses it's very very damp grass been a lot of rain here over the last 48 I saw I was gone up to the circuit well turn to mark and that normally very immaculate number 93 Audi and looking a little the worse for wear and just for the moment when I saw the green stripes on that car thought it was the leader but it's not Tyler McQuarrie has it continued without any issue quite a stiff thump on the rear right corner that's deranged the concrete barriers on the infield there which is there to stop cars from going all the way across and coming back on to the other side of the circuit the TCR panel has exploded and now we've got a Honda at the front of the field and that shall be Blackstock Blackstock who led the championship along with Tom or Corbin and then had two races to forget would be the really the latest we're that and go oh and now we've got the alpha off this is the number three the red car with the tan and black front end that was coming up through hog pen on to the final out of the final corner on the street and I think there was another car off there as well a little bit earlier on which was the number 12 car that's one of the Audi's in TCR Shelby black stuff just getting a great run onto the front straight to take the lead there as I said we're leading the championship for a long time and then had two races to forget is the most diplomatic way I can put that where they didn't get the green flag Canadian Tire Motorsport Park give up the late Amara and give him the leaf that championship and now they are back at the front and still the GS Turner motorsport BMW even Barletta just at the front of this field there he's pulling away on the streets but he's getting bottled he's getting them bottled up behind them and another spin from the alpha this time it turned three four and is damaged this time to the left rear of the normally immaculate number and offers horsepower to you it's one of the win Ward cars and there's another cog oriented headed all my goodness that's a big one that's the faff McLaren the 13 car and that's at the top of the hill horse oil obviously I'm seeing the blue I'm thinking that was the mark Segal car that had made a part of the pitch this is at the top of the hill for the rule of course to turn a BMW number 96 is off the hole make the TCR run is very happy for the time being if he can't get back old pits are closed and we have a full course yellow now is that just rin at the top of the hill and in fact it's at the bottom of the roller coaster that those three cars have all gone in just over the top of the brow the good news is the door to the 13 McLaren is open and the driver is getting out there's a lot of steam around that now which of the Windward cars it's a 57 car that's gone off and dad that's Brice Brice Ward and that car is very heavily damaged to the right rear they've had no look at all with damage this year what a shame I'm just wondering if there's something gone down there at that part of the circuit when mark Segal brought the Audi back to the pit lane or is it just the fact that it's rearing heavier there there are definitely spots of red around the circuit so 13 and 57 57 the Mercedes going off first and then cannoning into it the McLaren and there was another car in there as well the 57 car was running in 11th position it done a really good job he moved up from 17th on on the starting grid but that was so that was a big off for price and then following him off he was trying to get a gear and then in backwards and on exactly the same trajectory came the 13 McLaren and then Frank de PUE in the 71 Camaro a little bit further down so he didn't take quite as far around the corner yeah that's bizarre to have two cars go through it and exactly that same turn to try it off that corner right both of the drivers from I've definitely seen Bryce out of the car and definitely for Danny was out and that was it for Danny yes sorry Yaphet Arnie is out at the car or if itani is out of the car to shame he's gone what he's done well that's not just the a Chris green big incident and Bryce Wilson had Bryce Wilson a Bryce Ward is so annoyed with himself or something he was pointing back up the hill they're impossible to know how that started full-course yellow of course at the moment it looks like Frank de PUE has continued it was a really I mean unabated speed you're not gonna slow down once you're on the grass Jeremy put it was quick much quicker than the the faff car arrived yeah and then Frank de PUE turns up again a little even a little bit slower but further up the the hill for that one yeah that was but that was kind of weird I mean the number 57 car you've been in 11th place he was kind of kind of on his own I think he was right behind the number 35 of Jim Cox on that lap those two both they in Mercedes Jim Cox had fallen back from the sixth starting position Bryce Ward has made his way up from 17th and they're running 10th 11th on the previous stop and nobody was trying to get past Jim where there was any contact between those two so maybe great run to the lead by the way of TCR what the lap before by Shelby Blackstock and that was done before that full course yellow there'll be no pass around here in the early part of the race we're staying with how things stand behind the safety car once this is cleaned up pits are still closed wipers on on a lot of the cars now and remember everybody started on slick michelin racing tires so now the question will be when the pits are open what do you do there's rain in the area the drive time Jeremy here is 45 minutes if I remember rightly yeah so coming in now would mean that your driver would be in probably until the last 45 minutes this is when the race was won last year if you remember on tactics about who took what and when they came into the pit the tire barriers have really done their job but the problem with the faff McLaren and the Windward Mercedes were that they came into contact at the same part of the tire barrier having first come down the hill separately and there's quite a lot of damage now to the Mercedes yeah only some of which was caused by going off into the terabyte I think the Camaro might get back going again because that car is the least damaged of all three of them I would say so I completely agree with you there and the number 57 Mercedes that went off first he was backwards wasn't he into the tires he was fast a very quick Rayland lots when he hit the when he made that contact with the tire wall and then the car kind of bounced out of it but he was hit my brother McLaren that would have been there probably a harder yet but I swore to his dua there so the track definitely yeah is is pretty slick out there at the moment drizzle in the air Adam we're waiting well just before that really big damage at the rear corner of that AMG Mercedes and we've seen with far less damage than that cars having to be read shelled before Hinds their cars on Portland well we had a couple didn't win it Watkins Glen there's n1 of it last year seem to remember with damage I was right about the Frank de PUE there were 71 cars you know have dropped a few laps but he's good enough to carry on and we should stay outing it don't pull into the pits now Frank stay out well he'd already the back of the past where he wants to come in and check the car over it probably wouldn't be a bad idea because they got they don't have at least two three or four minutes so check it over and he's still would lose another lap but he's not going to do that he is going to stay out on the racetrack and I think you should have come in there's tire rod now on the right front I think he went in nose first so that would have pushed the body went on to the TS but not to the tire [Music] sure Adam has had to pick Paul although the pits are still closed it doesn't look very good for the number two of Tyler cooking Kenton cook pulled into the pit lane came to a stop shut the car off just turned it back on but it was stationary for about 15 seconds with the headlights off and now it's rolling once again so that's more than just missing the fact that the pits were so closed I think they just had to do a control-alt-delete everybody by he wants to get that car back round to the pits without any further issues actually it's the tiniest little bit of rub from the front wing that will that'll pry bar out I reckon he's just gonna let everybody drive by him the GS class split is occurring at the moment so that will put all of the GS class cars in front of all of the TCR cars between which to the Chevron I'm sure of the TCR cars that it just got parkford by later in the 96 car when he fell off all of the drivers got out of those cars under their own steam so without assistance so that's the best news there the metal might be bent but that will straighten or be replaced good news is that Rory for Donnie and Bryce wore a brace Ward were out of the cars I lost Frank's superiors continued to all good that side of things yeah got a feel there for a particularly for Bryce Ward I mean he's done a really really nice job to move himself up six positions in the early stage of this race and now he's been really fast he said well yeah I mean he's made he's made several mistakes no doubt about it but I mean the guy has relatively little racing experience and to be running as well as he was there on a track like this in the early stages would have been would have been really satisfying for him so whether he made a mistake whether he had a problem whether it was any contact to cause an accident we do not really know at this stage but he had been running up until very very well up until then hello to Moni Elisha heading home from Winter Park tuned in to the coverage here or in audio sure how long it would take you to get back home money but we still got an hour of 40 minutes to go so 100 minutes you might be able to catch some of the sound and vision together pits still not open and I know we're really not know we were in the first 15 minutes to the race so this will remain the pits will remain closed because this is gonna be a fairly lengthy clean up to that number 37 car very heavily damaged and well to get the record down there the flatbed out down out there already well now the problem will be getting the flatbed out of that Jeremy because that is you know that's right at the bottom of the hill it's very damp down there the may have to have something at all that out the flatbed because it is very wet and it's raining heavily now and it will be I think share Adam wet tires when they're picked to do open the question will be who will get all and stay out there for track position and who will come in well the pits shouldn't open because we were within the first little bit of the race but when they do open after the first green lap of the race I thought that's a good point you can't come in and follow the safety car in can you exactly let's do that as a PSA hey teams if you're gonna bring your car in wait until after the first green lap otherwise you're gonna get called for a drive-through penalty and that would not be good but I'm seeing a lot of wet weather tires up on the wall for championship leaders and those are the guys I tend to look at John that was a public information announcement on behalf of the pit lane you can't bring your car in straight after the following in the safety car you have to do one lap around on the green flag before the pits are open again Oh Carol brake who's out in Monterey who's just had a b-17 flyby to pass time during this yellow very nice all more is quite an action car then Ford Mustang in the McLaws pit Frank tapu now there will be able to fix the damage under emergency service rules and it only needs the pry bar well they're using an aluminium or aluminum baseball bat they've jack the car up now drop it down drop it down let's have a look see if it clears turn the wheel there changing one tire at the back the left rear oh no they're putting this they're putting it a treaded Tyrone well it would be a like to do that and emergency service right okay well they're already a couple of laps down so so we're not a drive-through penalty really would be that consequential I think at this stage so what if we can get them out without losing another lap it's gonna be when he comes around to save beyond what is right and even if he has to come in he does to do that within three laps so new said so it will not be the third win in three times behind the wheel for Frank de PUE of course it's the last twice the car is born and this is the team the Chevy logo has gone from the front of the Camaro this is the only team that's got two wins on the season in gs I think there's a bit more baseball but required on that right front fender on the underneath the wheel arch there yeah they've got a narrower crowbar under that now and the might as well tear the time to get this right meanwhile further down the pit lane everybody are everybody getting out there where the tires I'm waiting for the end of this safety car period and the green flag one green flag lap remember before they can come into the pit lane and now the pit now interestingly the pits closed light has gone off according to share Adam I wonder now this is I'm going to put something out here and I hope I'm right and if I'm not I apologize I think this is really smart really sufficient and I'll tell you why why would you force people to go up racing speeds on slick tires which aren't appropriate for the conditions and so they've opened the pit lane and therefore the GS cars will be able to come in yes pizza oven for GES pizza oven for GS now I think the safety car is going to steer out and they've opened the pits so that people can go in again I think that's a really smart piece of officiating I completely agree I'm sure we'll stay out I mean to clean up still going on down it's going to take quite a long time yet so I think that's a really great call by the officials to let them make make that decision if they want you and have to come in and put on wet weather tires if you don't know you're taking a bit of a risk in as a championship leaders I would I would I would I would say you know it might be worth coming in I mean they'll be looking at the weather that we're trying to see you what other schools are ready to come in and looked at the weather radar about 20 minutes ago it looked like the weather was so it was quite a long way away maybe the precipitation wouldn't be here till kind of closer to four o'clock until just after 235 now so knowing days it certainly come earlier than one might have anticipated so this is a a real crapshoot out there at the moment yeah Andrew barrer says the mission of pilot challenge series never fails to impress this year don't know what it is but every race has had something that's cranked the drama meter to 11 billion we've had to in fact recalibrate the drama meter our Andrew by a factor of 100 an Enka with the GS field yeah this is going to be full service it'll be a top-up on the fuel remember that it's unlikely to see anybody change the drivers because they haven't done their drive time yet Adam where are you in the pit lane I'm right smack dab in the middle because as you said the GS field comes in and all but one car comes into the pit lane it will be wet weather tires for the championship leading number 39 and the championship chasing number 82 so the Audi and the BMW both going to full wet weather tires it is five stud wheels for them but third in the championship that's the Mia McLaren they are going with what wheels as well they had flicks up on the wall but the decision has been made to go for wets now we've got some drama a little bit further up for the Aston Martin because the two cars share a pit box with two TCR cars they have not practiced pitting both cars at the same time first car back out rolling Oh intrigue learn the number 46 team t GM he also is on wet weather tires we have the 82 that's back out rolling next and then the Mia McLaren put the audit McLaren jumping up a ton of spots for compass racing in the number 75 next off the pit lane at this sick the Mustang and that our championship leaders the number 39 Tyler McQuarrie who came into the pit lane in the lead goes back out in six think actually the 75 McLaren got out ahead of the Ford Mustang 46 82-69 75 and 60 your top seven that's how I saw them commercial where's the championship leader right behind the the Mustang and that's down to eighth position in classes there came off the pit lane that's extraordinary more speed od with Rob furry all stared out of the GS there now that's interesting that's very interesting all the tick cigars will come in next time around what is he hoping it's going to actually watcher of it you know what it's it isn't reading here anymore yeah and it's going to be a little while yet before we go back to green I think they're still working on the on the table area down at turn 17 more speed car isn't in with a championship shout right they're here to get good finishes and to showcase the car if you do the same thing as everybody else does you're gonna get the same result worst thing that can happen you go couple laps and say I can't make this work will come in for mission and that's right plus if you can get to 45 minutes in race where are we now an hour 32 so almost half an hour into this race if he can stay out there for another 15 minutes or so when he comes in he could then make his driver change that side and and Spencer properly could go to the end plus the other factor gear what furry all remember he was out there earlier on today these sort of similar conditions in the Porsche gt3 Cup Challenge race he won the Gold Cup category by staying on the road whether the others around them did not so he knows kind of how the track is in these sort of conditions could be a different car of course he's in Sunday's Audi opposite situation where he was out on wet weather tires in a drying conditions dry weather tires and wet conditions still just watching a replay there number 57 car going off the road it didn't appear that was anybody around no I still really didn't see how that happened but there was three cars off in quick succession so I can only assume then that it was the damp conditions that caught everybody out came in pretty quickly still worked going on down there as Jeremy said down at the bottom of the hill out goes the number 97 Aston Martin that was last out Frank de PUE well I think get a penalty for working on the car and a clause people that's Jeremy mention these many laps down now tix yard will all come in this time one presumes and that's the one it's really or will they front-wheel drive only sort rigorously the trick tricky damp conditions it's full wet out there at the moment I would suggest so are places for a second think yes true but does it might be worth taking the gamble who's brave I would say now that the uphill towards behind us and up towards the oak tree corner is alright force leaks I would say over the top of the end of Madison out of it Avenue and out the start/finish line isn't so no one's brave what what person's brave Nick delante is brave he stayed out the number 23 as he has everyone else has come into the pit lane knows the two Hyundai TCR cars man they look a little bit better than beaten already in this race they both came in they are both doing four tire changes too wet weathers both at the La Honda world cars are going to wet weather tires as well we heard from Lee's Parrikar that they may play around look a little bit of strategy they're not ready to do that just quite yet we have both of the e euro parts out ease in as well they are both doing four tire changes and both that the alphas are doing four tire changes the Honda from Atlanta speed works they too are doing tires so every TCR car will be on wets except for the 23 very interesting we have seen though these TCR work very well in the intermediate style or the transitional editions and who is gonna be a for sure the car that has more podiums than anyone else in TCR so far this year that's the number 61 bit close greatest Alana Gavin or okay it went back to green just as he got there that made me really nervous next bullying is the number fifty-four Michael Johnson and then the 21 and 98 in that order the 12 ow d and then the 37 Honda so they've dropped back quite a few places has second in the championship so two teams should get the big gold star for the pit stops the Europe arts team for turning around governance done as quickly and he will be leading the TCR Catholic read I'd be second of course warning because Nick Nagar lucky were Bellini but also they're coming through I think in a thinking 3rd position at very worst is Owen drinkler in the 46 he was so that really turned that God he'll be fourth I think the other car that did not stop there was another two Audi that was in earlier Jordan at caution period are so he didn't so he didn't stop just now so I think the order when they come past again the referrals gonna lead then the number 21 car 23 car excuse me is in second place studies the TCR and true of nickel ante who did not stop then Tyler cook next up in the Audi that was in the pits true and of course and that hasn't stopped with everybody else and then behind that are all the pits the regular pit stoppers and the the guy that fared worse at worst out of that once again is automatic racing the number zero nine car is going to be right at the back of the pack - zero 997 were right at the back of the pack so once again were they only using one crew again yeah one car was up inside the top ten you got to prioritize that that came in ahead of the other one that should have been able to get they should have left probably left 97th car he was at the back of the pack in any case probably should have left him out to do one more lap and then come in perhaps but but otherwise just keep out of the way but that was a a costly stop for there 0:19 lack in Rabindra find himself back in the 20th position that the reset here's a question and I'm asking this genuinely because I don't know the answer we've already done the GS split before we opened the pits so do we do it again or do we restart with a TC our car in second place no final wave by there's no one in between the the safety car and the class leaders but it doesn't actually mention anything about a class split problem for the Atlanta speed Burke's car the on board jacks haven't retracted fully on the number 84 Honda the blue and yellow car and it's sparking all the way it can barely be on the ground there it's sitting up high with the tires it doesn't look quite right and the it's wearing away at the bottom of there Jack's that car will have to come back in to the pit lane now whether they just haven't retracted properly or whether they've just dropped down again or do you don't run off the sir I think you maybe he's trying to kind of dislodge them somehow and see if they'll pull faster but you know yeah maybe force him into submission yeah this is the 84 car and which was running well up and in fact it's still in ninth position for Brian Henderson yeah but he's gonna have to come into the pits the 84 Honda Civic TCR they have recharged and discharged the jack system and that has gone out without the jack standing down in spa and he's only I mean he's dropped down to 11th put he's on the tail of everybody else because he did that when the yellow flag so that's costed nothing then mere if they've had any sense they would have put some fuel in that as well and just put an extra lap of fuel in that's exactly as well yeah they got the jack to go up it actually went up a lot easier than they were expecting to so that's good and I have an answer for you on the Tyler Cooke situation because he did not do any work on the car they're letting it go it's not a penalty but he did stop in this box and when you enter a closed pit you were supposed to drive straight through to avoid a penalty but they deemed because he didn't do anything he's okay so just checking underneath the 84 car and that looks to be alright the lights are off on the Nissan GT hopefully not only for cars that weather it sized out I think a 46 car I reckon of Florida's car is on slicks he's fallen right back in the back ear and I fancied that car might be on slicks they're taking a gamble if owned trigger can keep that car on the road when everybody else comes in if it drives out to put on slick tires he could be in the catbird seat here so they just fueled turned it around so quickly exactly I think so I'll buy that for a dollar and that is now confirmed to Avadi once again playing the tactical card and that remember would them the race last year born was actually in the pit lane coming in and they decided not to change tires and on drove brilliantly that day on slicks in damp conditions not quite as wet as this mind you so this is going to be a struggle for the first few laps but these michelin wet weather tires are so efficient we will get if it stops that doesn't mean any more the track will dry up very very quickly indeed I think from by the time they get around to complete this lap you know just about done worked at what's at 40 40 minutes yeah 40 minutes so we're now 38 and a half 38 and 38 minutes and 45 seconds into the race so another minute and a quarter and you're going to be good you know completely giving him a drive time and can make your pit stop the command driver change the Camaro is going to get a stop and 60 seconds for working on the car the clothespin no no qualms about racing in the rain and he's showing it in these very very treacherous conditions now there is his in the lead of this race coming down to a hot pan one more time to see the completion of that 15 he's got the the other McLaren of Paul Holton writing his wheel track so as to maybe a couple of seconds ahead of Tyler McQuarrie in third position and Tyler's now etched away just a little bit from late Stacy in number 64 behind Nate Stacy is James clay and a bitter war BMW then Russell Ward doing a really nice job in carving 233 for win Ward racing and rounding out the top ten Geoff Bowes in kind of a 56 re Balog had kind of an aging for Steven Cameron rating in excuse me for Bill Ward racing in the BMW in Austin in the Porsche and Jim Cox encounter 35 rounding out MacLaren's one would wonder where the compass racing would try and help the number 16 icon that compass racing that number 75 they won the first race of the season at Daytona but struggled since then they've fallen way back in the points but number 69 mi a team is right there up in the championship and stakes right now coming into here in third position and only 13-point to be behind overall championship leaders you would think they might want to help him they certainly didn't at Road America and it looked like it's not going into here either fact the PIO is really struggling I'm not sure the front end of that that's number 71 kymaro has got both words pointing and quite the right direction there if I'm honest Ted giovanna's did come in I'm just watching this part of the first second of 3rd at the moment she'll will come to you in a moment because I think we've just seen something significant down there which I'll get you to report on in a sec down into turn one it is the two the last lap but because for that slow lap but to 11 it was last time around for Cory Fergus we know that the top three well the word knows to tell so where Cory focuses and we look at this picture pits I think Owens problem was he got passed by a whole lot of TCR cars off the start who were on wets and he hasn't been able to make that ground back as yet his lap time last time around a to 19 to might be worth just sticking your head into the 61 pit making sure that he's still got there and John didn't jump into it but I did see them change drivers at the pit stop if I'm honest and they were very quick on the pit stop well if they did there were before the 40 year 40 exactly so they'd have to put back in again at the end to in the quickest car on a track on this lap was Acula Rabindra in the aston martin forward about a racing car number zero nine up into eighth position he took the restart my chart he was in a restart xx yourself excited top there they game so despite a horrendous pit stop a keel Rabindra is absolutely flying these now about three and a half seconds behind Russell Ward it kind of a 33 who's at next car in his sights last time around he was five at second to faster and the PF mustang went back out on wet tires wet tires put butt on that car [Music] wimba dressings of the car with Russell walk behind the wheel went for a little ride got some grass on the definitely a dry line and the Mustang making the best of that I would say at the moment as the cars partly for second third and fourth fan out across the track for a moment we had three across the track there the two mid-engine cars leaving enough space down the middle for the Mustang if we can get through Paul Holton Tyler McQuarrie and then Nate Stacy now didnít put on wet tires at the stop yes you did so they're all on wet tires who did we think we left Rob furry on driver the taste is lap time last time up to 12 against now a night so it's stuck it's getting taller it's getting closer pit lane VIN he's come through though he's gonna and hit the barriers quite hard in that what is normally an immaculate to Turner BMW my guess is he went a little bit wide and then swimming across the track right in front of the TCR leader and clout at the inside barriers to drive his right really hard with the actually the left front of that kind almost gone all the way around there that's going to take that car out of any hope of a decent finish Rob ferry all 208 that lap as well though the crossover point is definitely here you want to be on on dry weather tars from here on and how far can you go on fuel Jeremy that's the question can you do an hour on fuel 15 85 minutes for the 50s for the GS car so they need to stay out a little bit longer if they can it was a pretty lengthy caution period but this is a fascinating race at this stage lots yet to play out 20 laps completed coming up for an hour 57 minutes we wanted three white could be down the front straight as we've got the battling Mustang and McLaren and that is a battle for position the 60 in the 75 across the line they were putting a lap on one of the TCR cars and the championship leaders behind both of them so must act now cause up in the second place Ford Mustang its dissing second place across the line from Portland Tyler McQuarrie the championship leader now down to fourth position the twenty second gap mines back from those four - James click and all of a sudden these cars are a lot closer to quarry Fergus Nate Stacy there is freaky - that was a great last lap for him it mature 6.54 Nate Stacy it's same time that time is owen trinka finally getting up to speed now he's down in 21st position in car number 46 right turn lover on the twitter at Ames Aurelio says his ocular bender from a part of India where it rarely rains therefore he doesn't know that it's supposed to slow you down he studied in Edinburgh and he's been racing in the UK RTL so trust me he knows all about how to drive in adverse conditions it's really tough out there now for the drivers because you've got the situation where this barely any water being thrown up from the tires and the wind screens are filthy absolutely filthy indeed on she jumps in to the remaining win Ward AMG GT four and that will see a set of slick tyres it's gotta be slick tires at this point and it is for the 33 mobile wonka yeah the question is can they get to it if it stays screen all the way can they do the remainder this race it's more than an hour it's gonna be a pretty tall order I think but if there's a full course caution they'll certainly be looking at very very good tell you what the mission and wets that have come off that guys in remarkably good condition so indeed unsure then north all about these Mercedes good driver for feel as well how will he go in that great silver and red mobile Warren sponsored EMG GT GT for out onto the circuit he's just lost the lead luck just lost the lead lap as the leader went through that yeah and that's why the decision where are the to see alleys heaping up the other side of the racetrack TCR leaders are just in the second sector now right so they have yet been lapped are they so the number 46 I just got on the last I'm actually own trinket got himself a head of the TCR car so that gamble by staying out as kind of played Leigh's favor except the fact you still got to make a full pit stop from here yeah but he'll appeal gore he what he'll do is he'll call for another 15 minutes Warren knee I suppose was everybody will at this point just hearing from the officials and it's good news nasty-looking incident that brought out the full course caution re for Donnie and Brice Ward had been evaluated and released from the circuit Medical Center as in to the pit lane comes the Audi of gabon and storm he's been doing a brilliant job Adam he's down at Europe odds he has done his job perfectly well and now it's up to John morally it will be stuff tires for John as they do go to slicks the number eight is off the circuit at the final term but trying to get things going again as Rodriguez Alice as the team the same team continues to service their TCR cars broken left front splitter for Governors zone when he brought this Brian and also I heard the words we're down a cylinder being talked to for John Marley so he is has a car underneath them that's not in perfect health but that will still be enough for them to try and go to get their first win of the year they've stood on every other step of the podium just not the top one and Gavin ern stone gets back over the wall behind them is the number 12 that is the sister car Ryan Nash and Russell McDonald sharing that and that car also taken off the wet sand going to slicks they should be good to the end they said that they're expecting at least one more caution before this thing wraps up and away goes the number three on the side let's see where they cycle back out when it's all said and done TCR cars could definitely go to the end from here they could do an hour no problem at all GS so I think that's a very marginal at best so they will try and they'll stay out here for a probably another five minutes or so if they can before they make the stops and they're turning good lap times now but look at I gap between first and second it's definitely closing down Nate Stacy a brilliant job in that car number 64 core for core Motorsports and a Ford Mustang in second place and he's gone the legs at the moment at Lisa Paul Holton in third Tyler McQuarrie well he's not far behind either they're in fourth position in the Audi the championship either kind of a 39 and as the pit stops are now starting the one-and-only pit stops for the TCR smart Wilkins he's drifting that light blue and red Hyundai Veloster wonder how long he'll stay out before he peels off into the pit lane he's not coming in this time I don't think it steers all the way over to the left-hand side of the track 57 and a half minutes still to go his teammate got sucker in second place Shelby Blackstock into third position as the ah got SATA peeled off Adam you've got the black Hyundai I was just about to say where's hairy gone there because I saw him coming down the hill but he's peeled off and comes into the pit lid he decided to visit his crew and to stay here for a little while giving Mason felici an opportunity to drive this is the car that won the last race the race before that they got their first podium of the season so they are really on a roll they are doing four tires putting on slicks as well those two scuffed rubber for the Hyundai so the number 21 getting a full service just waiting on the fuel at this point as it continues to pour in and now comes back up the fuel line so that is a fully full tank driver change so going on as is the right-side tire change so this looks like a pretty well-executed stop for Brian heard his boys and girls and slick tires presumably on that yes she did say that a killer rependa now up the seventh is doing exactly what he did yeah Adson Road America oh he just lost her position on the last lap around number 56 Mercedes at Jeff posing so but Mosley is now fully up to speed all the quick guys now are on low two minutes except the quickest car and track is now Owen trailer in caliber 46 the first guy sits the rain came to go subber two minutes but the fastest car on the track is guy Cosmo down in 21st one minute fifty six point nine four guy Cosmo he went on the slicks very very early remember that was just 45 minutes into the race he will have to stop again Adam we have had the win with number 33 car back into the pit lane without a problem at the pit stop well sort of it was speeding in the pit lane exit one-click over but even if you're over you're over so they had to come back in and serve a drive-through we're waiting on the 98 the Hyundai that's leaning the way Mark Wilkins driving it right now Mike Lewis getting back into it and they to have some scuffed no those are actually stickers on the slick tires and now that car comes into the pit lane and right behind them the next pit box back is the Boomer world number 82 will be coming in here shortly and they too will be getting sticker michelin tires so it's that point of time where people are getting really brave oh and also it is the number 52 and the 37 La Honda world cars they are pitting together both cars are going on - brand new Michelin tires and both cars full service meaning that Tommy Gorman takes over the 37 and max Parker winner last year in the st Cory is taking over for Colin Mullen in the 52 and then the head of the failed the top three are together coming down the roller-coaster throw sixteen and down into the hog pen at turned 70 and this is very interesting indeed who plates first from the latest 54 minutes to go so they can only go about another 10 minutes and remember we have seen people being excluded for drive time violations by just seconds so they need to make sure that this worked right top 4 make that the top 4 now pretty much together could be down into the horseshoe with the number 69 motorsport in action behind a leading quartet who are pretty much nose-to-tail no 39 card just back a second or so but it's pretty close certainly and you can see now Nate Stacy trying to get to the damper part of Madison Avenue the maid backstroke coming up toward the roller-coaster just trick trying to keep those wet weather tires as cool as he possibly can there's no real wetness out there now there's certain it's a gone quit indeed on she's just on a fifty five six don't she with a 55 six on you slick tires so these guys at the front of the field TR they're going to have to be careful because they are going to ridden off the curb because it certainly did a very very interesting maneuver coming down the hill good at Ronettes pond the Audi r8 over its turn five going up the hill but continued how anybody can times in the last five races so they're coming on strong and they've been knocking on that door and today they're well out in front the championship leader in TCR well that remains but number eight the 98 car but still back in the seventh place in the class and a long long way behind dirt we aren't anybody else I think next day ahead of it would be Tom O'Gorman in sixth place the gap between them who's coming across the line it's it's a lot whoops and that's so happy behind it that goes across the grass is that a second off I think it is if the 98 under spinning not while actually sliding pylons beneath were taking the long way back on the circuit has remarkably little brass debris I think everybody else is cleared of all the cooking's to be honest back pointing in the right direction now although mikonos has dropped out a seventh position yes so that was a second off just not enough hate I would expect there in the rear tires that's what's going on there for that guy's committing massively to throwing the car in the front wants to go but the back ends just sliding yeah so he's looking down from the turn seven camera to turn five so things are warming up out there expect some fast laps here yep the Gavin battle the front remains as intense as ever just two tenths of a second across the line to complete that 37 the gap back to third position that's hakuna Ripper in McLaren and stayed stable around about nine seconds but two behind here Jeff Wes was closed in now we got a battle for third fourth between number 7,500 of a 39 car about eight seconds further back from him is Hugh plum who's falling back from that 2/3 fourth place battle indeed option meanwhile just ten seconds behind last time around he's been closing in by balls in the second a lap in that number 33 car came out chipped up to 46 and bringing strength Inman with him behind them those two is Ross garden who's the fastest car on the track you can't be zeroed on the automatic racing Aston you just rub your hands together anyway we just went to yellow for debris on the front straight which means that Cunha Webber has to catch up to the front - and then get around him you've been enjoying watching him do his thing yeah you know he's doing a really great job actually on the under that first caution we got a DSC fault so we have no traction control so we were struggling a little off the corner in the wet and once it dried up really really good cars the setups really money so Kunekune O'Donnell said it work I didn't practice at all that was my first time in the car since like five laps on Thursday yeah the raining yesterday kind of kind of messed up our plans a little bit so learning out there was a lot of fun you know actually all the guys Cory and and Nate both were racing super great super clean even the guys on slicks on that restart did a really good job to kind of stay out of the way well I don't think anyone in the paddock would be upset to see a compass win after the last week of Road America fingers crossed for you thank you very much well the debris on the front straight a think coming from was that the Audi number eight that was going through I think it was news this will help the 46 car who was one of the first cars to pit the 46 car came in along with it made that second stop remember it came in a lot with everybody else with with around about 45 minutes to go so though all the leaders ought the same strategy now who came in on I was indeed on she hears on lap 24 yes yeah that was his dance responses I threw that 21 I was reading like so I think yeah I can't see how he could possibly get to the end even with a lengthy caution period but to Trent him and he's got a very very fast car that number seven volt racing park place Motorsports fastest car on a track Ross gun in eighth position in 2:09 we've got a potential constancy to affect now because of course everybody's going to close up now and this is going to be a very hectic what maybe 20 minutes watch out for the Aston Martin Ross gun he will be very very quick indeed on the restart so who needs fuel at the end maybe the remaining Winwood car Adam no maybe about it there up on the wall for the 33 so when the pit lane opens which because this is a short yellow will not be until after the first screen lap guys there's a warning he will be coming in oh I didn't say that they should been called a short yellow my apologies they have done aware inside the final okay sorry yes yeah it's about 27 minutes to go there have done a pass around now that's ongoing at the moment yes and for those of you who not familiar with this form of racing a passer I mean any cars on the track between the safety car and the class leader this is really only apply to TCR because the safety car would have picked up the overall and GS class leader that being Carnival 69 so any cars in between the safety car and the TCR leader will be able to cycler now saw one of the alphas getting a run around yeah things to carry it 7-3 kind he is now but he is on the lead actually he's still with the TCR leaders so we're gonna have nine cars in TCR in order sixty one twenty three twenty one twelve 54:37 ninety eight and the two alphas five and three wall nose to tail when we get ready for the restart class split now going on going at the moment so all the GS cars will cycle ahead of the TCR so now having put that alpha back where it goes now all the GS cars that are behind the TCR leanness John Morley and James Vance they will go through including kentley cook in the number two Audi worked little word for Kenton has been driving really well that set out he not perhaps showing the Pierce that they would like out of that car VT Eurosport we've got to give a shout out ken I think he's cars that are a lap down to the GS leaders there's probably just in piscatella I'll watch out come over 65 and maybe Jay Buford as well I can't have in that lead pack of cars but the order overall 6960 39 the Audi the green a black car in third position then McLaren 75 at 46 and then 33 the silver Mercedes then the bright yellow can't miss it the vault racing Porsche of Trent hitman then the Aston Martin the primarily white car cannabis zero nine twenty minutes of recently caught by the time we go back green his prediction I think it might have an Aston Martin on the podium I hope that's not the curse the comments here I think Ross guns got the pace here whether he'll get through the traffic that quick enough how patient how patient can he be he has the fastest car on a track he's for his final stop and gives up a top ten position top three together the horseshoe now Jeff Westfall pushing hard in the 39 outta the green and gray car then the locked Aston then a bit of a gap back to cue plum now in fourth position Hugh plumbers got past a couple of cars yeah and the people losing their was was Ross gun in the automatic racing Aston Martin of a09 he's gone from eight down to front straight lot of grass on the front of the Aston Martin I'm hearing from shear Adam and the Murillo racing number 56 has got left rillette suspension damage and he's off the track again that's the Erik force driven car car normally at the sharp end of the field but Erik is not good a finish today the Astin's everything in the pits number zero nine had to come in he's been off the track clear the grill that's what she was just saying so the latest are going to be pegged back for course yellow this is not all over it's going up the esses again he'll ever shred him and watch out for Tretton had been a brilliant restart by not number seven from six up at the fourth place he got past Hugh plum on that last lap around I'm sure he's got the pace of the three leaders but we will find out soon enough essentially I was gonna say and if people ahead of him keep throwing themselves off into the scenery Jeremy anything can happen I mean here before they remembered before the caution bid he was he was chasing a number 33 car which was catching rapidly up towards number 46 car and since then with this caution period seized close a gap to nothing he's made the past number 33 cars been in to the pits for its splash of fuel will rejoin at the back of the pack but at least there will be now a class reset again so I'll give the number 33 current opportunity to make up some positions jeremy years I know we've only got a few minutes left and then we probably have under 10 minutes left by the time we get back to green flag racing that's what we talked about the rip but right at the beginning of the race didn't we we thought there was there was rain potentially potential for rain at around about 4 o'clock yeah Adam are you feeling spots of rain down in the pit then we're definitely getting a little bit on the broadcast center patio whoo just walked outside to check it out I'm gonna put my rain jacket back on the umbrellas not going back up yet but we're probably not far off if it gets any heavier I think the 56 car needs more than just a flat toe I think it's got left rear suspension damage and that's why I struggled getting that car out of the infield but then one more lap and it'll all be over yeah me and McLaren would be quite happy to throw the checkered flag now I'm sure for more sporting action but they it was a replay of the that final restart so because he nailed the throttle at that restart last time around the lap was three minutes 20 and we're at 342 now there was no way I don't think we're going to get another green flag lap unfortunately unless those lights on the safety car go out right now the safety guys slowing right down here right down now is that just to give the safety truck a chance to get out of the way and will we see the lights go off I think it's too late oh I don't know I don't know they've nearly cleared we might get it it's gonna have to happen this time around though brilliant work again from the overall championship Tyler McQuarrie Jeff Westfall with a second place finish with a penalty for Trent hitman will extend their lead now to a full 24 points over Jesse Lazar and Cory Fergus who were come away I believe with a tenth place finish from this race they deserve so much more I'm going to try and figure out the manufacturers chair which it was gonna be awfully tight as well just to let you know that there was another review the Alpha and the number three and the 98 Hyundai Veloster that has been reviewed no action I haven't seen anything yet about the three wide that would have been the 54 in the 61 car the two out he's getting together or whether that's been reviewed yet we'll try and keep you up to date with that that might affect the TCR podium of course in manufacturers send for a GS I reckon unofficially Mercedes and Audi are tied on to 39 that's my that's my initial calculation here and on to 30 will be BMW and 227 falling a position McLaren with Tyler McQuarrie you were saying what happened oh man I can't believe it well you finished second you now have twenty four point lead isn't she yes his eyes just got really really wide it saying that do you have any idea at the end of that race how things could have gone a little bit more bonkers cuz I mean that was absolutely insane you know this entire race was just all over the place from the beginning the car was awesome in the dryer that started raining and we're still pretty good and you know the 75 car sprayed mud all over their windshield and we literally couldn't see anything all kinds of conditions Jeff the same thing got totalmix conditions and you know three minutes to go I'm sooner going okay we're gonna have a little extension on our point lead it would be okay and then it just absolutely unraveled for our competition in the championship and Wow like that was crazy the last lap and you know I'm sooner go we're gonna get third and you know the 82 is out and then the seven takes out the 69 and now we're second and both those guys are down it's just absolutely crazy and it's just you never know what to expect especially this year with the conditions like this every single race it's but we've capitalized on it so it's awesome the team did a great job all weekend and man that was crazy and going out to your country for the next round your side of the country for the next couple of races so it should be pretty good yeah go into Laguna it's our home track you know for the entire team we're all from the Bay Area so to go there with a 24-point lead with all our friends and family coming and meeting he couldn't paint a better picture congrats on today thank you I want to dive in with Jeff Westfall really quickly because how in the world did you see out of the windshield and how crazy were the last two restarts we'll the windshield the team wiped it which was a step forward it wasn't access it wasn't necessarily clear the restarts were absolute mayhem and as racers that's kind of what we love right and we did you know we don't want to be dangerous but at the same time it's a huge amount of excitement there's a big variable the track was changing every lap I'd come around and it was wet in five the next lap it was wet and yes is the next lap it was wet in ten and you're on slicks and you're just trying to hang onto the thing while not falling backwards and able to make a few spots too so it's a it's a great day for us for carbon Peregrine's and audi we got a good points day so I can't can't thank the team enough and the supporters great job today thank you Adam in the Mele down there well Jeremy once again we've still got a couple of votes to count for the forge line wheels spirit the race award hashtag forgeline SOT our to at Ames Racing windward racing automatic racing getting a few votes as well the gyro spare 61 car for the grid drive by Gavin and cruelly denied on the final lap says Alistair Alice MD guys I mean first win for that team you see Lucy's first winning TCR funiculi to Brit and first win ever for James darts brilliant drive by those I saw her becoming a penalty nick's brave decision to stay out in the early stages of this race that's what won that race as well I think that was a great performance yeah a lot of people we've got no clear winner there at the moment so in the last couple of minutes while Jeremy and I that sort this out we'll hand that over to the responsible adult by proxy who will let us know on our screen in front of us how that goes Jeremy how do you sum that race up we had some great racing early on couple of long yellow was one long yellow too early on which to really spice things up the way they the race was was was playing out there but once again fabulous work by race control and track services to get us back to green at the end not once but twice yeah it was a yet another thriller Shane me at those cautions towards the end and you don't like to see those sort of instance where people are bumping into each other ie wasn't deliberate by train didn't but no question about that he didn't do it on purpose but say he was I think he got a bit too carried away in the moment they're from my persona I'm a huge trend Hitman supporter but I think I think the decision made by race control was absolutely right he wasn't close stuff you if he tried to dive the inside but at the turn input he was not there he made contact with the rear number 69 car equals a penalty well we can't split the spirit of the race award it's going to go to the Ford McLaren battle at the front of the
