Fox Sports welcomes you to the following presentation of the National Football League it is a perfect weather day in Charlotte does anybody wanna win the NFC East Tony Siragusa these Redskins feel like they have a shot today's a big one there they do you know what nobody talks about the Redskins all you hear about the Giants Philadelphia the Dallas Cowboys this is a better team than you think but the one thing they need to believe that they can win until they win a game on the road no one is going to consider them a threat offensively they need to take chances today and stretch the field and that defensive line needs to show up they have to take control of that line of scrimmage not only rush the passer but to stop that one because that's how this Carolina team lives boy you're not lying about that they run it more than any team in the NFL under head coach Ron Rivera his team perfect at nine and OH Jay Gruden his second year as head man of the Redskins four up five down Redskins won the toss deferred to the second half and a kicker falls down we'll give a very good field position in the 38-yard they had a little bit of rain here last night just a little but I was down on the field and free game it didn't feel much in terms of voyage or anything like that it's almost like a skier that just loses a blade when he's going down in the slalom oh here comes the main man for the Panthers and that is Cam Newton six rushing touchdowns he added another one in that victory last week we were there Charles in Tennessee he everything for the Carolina Panthers [Applause] the line of scrimmage slipped the first tackle and maybe got back to the line of scrimmage once more Andrew Norwell is not in the lineup in left guard third straight game he is missed they're led by the Pro Bowler ryan Khalil and today they are going to be without Corey Brown Devin Funchess so rookie out of Michigan makes his first NFL start he looks a lot like tell me Benjamin was not playing is injured tried to physical stature my depression even throws and it's incomplete that was Trent Murphy who led the country in sacks two years ago his final year at Stanford Redskins defense has been cashed all year long Charles especially against the run and that's where they have to make a big big-time change Terrance Knighton pot roast in the middle was brought in for that reason and it linebacker will Compton has played very well and Deshawn safety must emit every 13 in Robinson enacted today so Compton another started protection his time the punches bring it out for the Panthers to start today couldn't ask for a better start if you're Washington they've tried to hit punches twice now Kelvin Benjamin out all year with a knee injuries and in stature has it assumed his playing ability just yet a second ball out of the reach of Devin Funchess and opted to punt it away great start for Washington the young man who grew up just down the road from Charlotte Waites back on the bun fleet Felicia Jameson crowd the 14 yard line he is no return first one down there Teddy Williams but again we wait on the penalty of that penalty came into vicinity of the gunner working working his way downfield sometimes they end up over on the sidelines that the penalty flag comes out if they ran out on their own as opposed to being pushed out of bounds during the kid play on the putting team running on the bound for their own number 21 Oh mr. one there Kerrigan finished him off and Ryan Kerrigan Tony gets the credit for it here but Jason Hatcher made the play yeah Hatcher comes through free but cam does a great job of going him but the one thing Hatcher doesn't give up he keeps going out of line of guys gonna stay on the ground like I missed him the ball is gonna be gone they've got to be relentless especially a guy against a guy like cam do yeah if Kerrigan will have to give him the world app because he's up that his sack number I have dinner something right Akiba Hatcher as you said big contracts nobody stops when the pickup that well it's hard to stop Redskins have a first-year defensive coordinator in chokeberry they had to play through a lot of injuries in that secondary they have it again [Music] the defense coming whether you talking about injuries for suspensions holes missed a lot of time out for five weeks kullaberg real in suspended for a game they brought in Blackmun Sheridan was drafted as a safety even playing cornerback so they got a lot of things going on most of the year but now they're healthy and trying to get solidified and I think that the final piece will be with de Angelo Hall makes a full-time hoody safety from the quarterback position together help them fall his first touchdown reception needed to get now lots of his defensive line really the front seven for the Washington Redskins they need to go and tackle better whose backs are running through arm tackles I mean they're not gang tackling right now that could be a problem so earlier with the Cam Newton pass down a field that all came right off of the play-action so they need to go and stop that run first and then play the pass against his defense but we all say goes it is what it is and as a first half by Stewart they took on New Orleans last week very first time to the game to the Redskins so the Orleans is in thrall move to give of 88 rushing yards of four games prior to them they had allowed 748 rushing yards in four they still gave up a 70-yard run to Mark Ingram in that game against New Orleans so they've got a lot of work left to do and I think that I've trouble getting off blocks I was 20 little early well you got to keep an eye on you know the center and move to the ball but in all the cases that they have nowadays they took it's amazing that I'll see more homicides that I'm at that's Tennessee at Dixon caught that one yard touchdown pass off this is a prime spot second down if you're going to throw the ball inside the five this is usually your spot for play-action if you want to yeah it is play actually it is totally missed I'm Caroline that's a happy young man so soon they're Perkin well Tolbert will come out the full-back position in the back field behind Cam Newton you got their goals and going out in the flat look at all said all he does is pokes dumpling as if you are a basketball player and get just enough of a defender to keep them away from Tauber after he catches rotation but it'll help him elevate again he's an active we can go the Jackson healthy again but for the first time in his career he returns to kickoff for a touchdown to a game 14 off [Music] well he's not very happy his special teams units just allowed a kickoff return for a touchdown for the first time in 100 game may have Bruce DeHaven the special teams coach for Carolina who does such a magnificent job been around the league for a long time but that's the type of thing they'll take your smile and turn it upside down let's see if Carolina can answer the Jowett back deep [Music] football the coordinated pass plays they really are in a sense a throwback and maybe not as aesthetically pleasing as other teams are they don't care they're going to do it their way and by the way Seattle for the last couple of years jump went to Super Bowls running it more than they threw it leading the league and running the football that's how Carolina's doing it now stout defense run the this Washington defensive line everything up Hobart has to go to the outside doesn't get in and a nice job by brilliant coming up to clean it up you know we haven't seen so far guys quarterback Runyan [Applause] dragutin's he's not and it's going to be holding against the Redskins in a secondary this will be an automatic first down at the one this is got to be getting extremely frustrating for
